This pub is quite cozy but can be quite busy during the weekends and during the festival. The staff are absolutely amazing and make you feel like you are long lost friends after meeting them once. The food is decent not michelin star but good for a night out with friends. One of the things we liked best was the weekly pub quiz, four rounds of fun with a chance to win a small cash prize. A great way to spend a evening.

Lovely little cosy place which was very friendly. We even ended up sharing our table with another couple as it was busy.

The Cameo Bar serves good food, snacks, cakes, as well as alcoholic beverages (and they offer free wireless internet access to their customers). They serve excellent decaf lattes (it really shouldn't be hard to find a good decaf latte in Edinburgh, but it is; The Cameo Bar certainly score well in this area!) and their scones and other sweet treats are always delicious. As a bonus, they're dog friendly, too. They provide water bowls and a jar of dog biscuits (just help yourself), which is a lovely touch for dog owners and people who, like myself, dog-sit regularly and need a friendly place to grab a coffee and rest my legs after a long walk up Arthur's Seat with my four-legged friend. Members of staff are always friendly and helpful, but are never unprofessionally forward or over-familiar. I'll be back in The Cameo Bar very soon.

This cinema is just over 100 years old and the bar area reflects some of the history of the cinema. The bar has a really good menu with warming home made soups, interesting dips, cakes and tray bakes. They offer a good range of wines as well as tea, coffee etc Always enjoyable.

Visited for the first time in a few years and it's changed dramatically, not for the better. The food is not that great, a bit cheap and they have homogenised the decor. Feels like a weatherspoons now, very unfortunate. The service was fine tho

A fantastic relaxed bar which is part of the Cameo Cinema. The best thing about the place is its atmosphere, its perfect for sitting reading a paper or magazine while grabbing a coffee or for meeting up with friends for a chat before or after a film. There's also a great buzz about the place later on a Friday or Saturday night. The drinks and snacks available are ok and there is alcohol available too if required. Very reasonably priced.

I enjoy this bar whether going to the cinema or meeting for a quiet drink. Very relaxed friendly bar with a good selection of drinks, full selection of coffees and some interesting bar food. I had the chilli pie with a side of guacamole. Tasty.

Very homely bar, sits very nicely near the cinema entrance with it's own access from Lochrin Place, easily as good as the local pubs around Tollcross with lots of film memorabilia.

Nice, bright bar with comfortable seating, perfect for a quiet drink. Good little range of light snacks and a not bad wine selection. There is always an exhibition of art by local artists on the walls too.

Gran (Ish) bar escondido en un ambiente relajado. selección bastante decente (no grande) de alcohol, aunque mi compañero dijo que quería un blanco ruso aquí, lo cual fue terriblemente hizo - su culpa por ser tan exigente aunque!!

The Cameo Bar is one of the cosiest most welcoming places you'll visit in Edinburgh! Unfortunately I have never eaten here, so I can't really comment on the food but the bar itself is such a great place and I recommend it even if you're not actually here for a movie. You'll feel like you've stepped back in time to another era... some better era... more romantic, more old-fashioned - and yet it's still a modern and cool place. It's just a feelgood place.

A small group if us had been out at the theatre and decided to pop into the cameo as we haven't been for a while. The atmosphere and bar are really nice but the service is terrible! We were half way through our drinks, and 30 mins before closing the staff were clearing up rightfully so, and decided to move away chairs from friends that had gone to the loo! When asked to leave the chairs as they were returning the bar girl advised us to take another chair, but a heavy arm chair! My friend moved the chair but 2 mins later the other barman moved that chair away! They clearly wanted us to leave and not finish our drinks!I would expect a relaxed and no rushed atmosphere while having a drink with a polite "the bar is closing soon folks can you please drink up" to which we would have! Not impressed with the bar and not sure how quick I shall be returning as drinks are quite expensive!

Planned to have a bite to eat in the bar before the film. Unfortunately almost everything we asked for was not available. Managed to get some soup which was average. However my main gripe was the cost of the white wine £9.20 for a large glass of Chardonnay! Even London isn't in this league.Chairs were comfortable although screen a bit small - cinema 3.

Love the Cameo cinema and it is great to have the opportunity to buy a drink to take int to see a film,. The bar is uninspiring, however, with no real ale and expensive wine. For 2 mediocre drinks to cost more than £12 is disappointing and seems like exploiting a captive audience.

Not a bad place to go before or after a film at the Cameo, though it has also served as a nice place for a casual drink. Atmosphere is relaxed, service friendly. Good coffee and cakes.

I absolutely love this pub! Have been a few times and always enjoyed my visit but the staff on this occasion were even more friendly and helpful than usual! We had table service and when I asked the waitress if they had sloe gin she didn't know but a lovely American man came over to our table to explain the kind that they had and what I should drink with it! Above and beyond the kind of service you usually get in a busy bar... We got wee tips and stories with our next few rounds & even though the bar got really busy when the panto came out next door the level of service and friendliness remained the same. I'd say it's one of the best bars in Edinburgh :)

We decided to visit on passing here and found it to be more of a cafe type place with a drinks licence, they had some food but didnt look very good so we just had a drink, vodka and ginger beer for my wife where i had just a havana rum and ice, cost, £7-60, what!, total rip off, no atmosphere, fingers burned, will never be back

We went to the Cameo to watch a movie that was probably only available in a couple of screens nation-wide, and had a short time before the movie to eat. We tried the Cameo Bar, which also has its own street entrance as well as connected to the cinema. The bar has a few small food options like soup, panninis and so on as well as coffee, and of course standard bar drinks. (Pop-corn, ice cream are available in the cinema foyer). We asked about gluten free and they were helpful, and knew the soup was suitable so we had that with some lattes. Just what we needed. Nothing fancy, but friendly, helpful, comfortable sofas. Just put us in the right frame of mind for the movie.

Nice little cafe just opposite the cathedral on the royal mile. A tad pricey but a nice little find for a quick coffee and bite to eat whilst exploring.

We wondered around many other places and decided for this places because of the initial kindness of the waitress when we where passing by and had a question. Went back for lunch and had a great lentil soup, salmon with salad and green juice. We decided to go back the next day, as we wanted something different from the regular pizza, hamburgers and such offered around. It did not disappoint, great place, very small and wonderful views of the castle

This was my first time here, and It was very good! My only complaints were that the drinks came a while before the food & that the small breakfast egg was quite greasy. The food tasted great though & the presentation was lovely. The tables were cleared efficiently as customers left & it was overall a rather peaceful atmosphere. Would recommend.

Popped in while I was waiting for a restaurant reservation to try a whiskey and a pint. I really like the interior, staff were super helpful with my choices, and tables were cleared quickly.
