Whilst trading this deli with a few sit in /out tables was a great addition to the small sea side town however new starts seem to to stuggle as it is no more

Went here for lunch with kids and family. Lovely menu of platters, sandwiches and salads. Local produce, pies, cakes, pastries and shop selling jams, teas, nice things. Fabulous bread from local bakery used to make sandwiches. Cullen skink here is gorgeous.

We'd been looking for Cullen Skink and we found it here. Served piping hot with a big chunk of bread and butter in the side. Nice traybakes after with tea and coffee. Not the best cappuccino in the world, but the normal coffee was strong. Service could have been a bit better (we had to ask them to wipe away the crumbs from the tables' previous occupants after we'd sat down). Nice selection of goodies on sale. Good quick lunch spot in Cullen.

Beautiful Cullen Skink, rich and tasty (well if you're in Cullen you have to have it!) followed by a generously filled bacon and black pudding panini and salad which we shared between the two of us. Friendly , cheerful service in relaxing atmosphere. Good value for money.

What a lovely place! Full of delicious looking food. The cullen skink though, in cullen, was atrocious. It was boiled tatties from the 1600's. Tattie n haddock have came on a long way since then! I was there buying a half stone of haddock fae buckie, and popped in by for a bowl of skink. Not sure what is going in with the chef/cook there but come on... Mashed tattie and fish paste does not make a cullen skink., not in this century! Other than that though, it is an amazing place, dont not be fooled by the outside, you are walking in to a little treasure. Hint to the owner... Crab sarnies in a seaside town when crab is out of season.... Think about it :)

Cullen is only small and when we visted most of it appeared to be shut apart from this deli. A very good selection of freshly prepared snacks were available and we enjoyed a very nice lunch at a reasonable price.

Excellent seafood, venison and cheese selections in this informal and welcoming deli. Great fresh food, extensive menu and a deli surrounding that invites shopping and taking interesting food home.

This is a lovely little deli on the outskirts of Cullen. The food is excellent but it is a little pricy and the service is a bit slow. Overall though good food for good value!

Small friendly deli style eaterie with tables and chairs set in the middle of retail shelving. A wide variety of independently produced foodstuffs, including cakes, pastries, breads, pickles, preserves, teas etc. Did not eat in but the food I saw being brought to tables looked very well presented and very appetising. Before we leave the area will return to try it.

We have stopped by here a few times to grab a coffee and a sandwich. Lot's of nice cheese and meats and definitely worth a look if you need oils, herbs and spices or other store cupboard ingredients. The first thing I have noticed is I have had to wait to be served both times - like there was no one there. I waited for around 5 mins till someone came out. There was a bell on the counter - my fault, I should have rung it. I also felt for a small town, the prices are on the high side. The rolls, etc are nice - choice from a softie, bread and a baguette (which is a soft roll, not a crusty french bread which I had thought I had ordered) but I felt at over £4 each, it was steep - and it was carry out. There are two Forsyth's in Cullen, one at the top of the hill and the other in the antiques centre. Staff at both are friendly.Service was a bit slow - we waited a while for the rolls, but they were lovely and fresh so worth the wait.I did have a look at the blackboards with menus - they looked good and much better value if you plan to sit in - lot's of choices of meats, cheese platters etc.Cakes all looked homemade and very nice.

We have been a few times to the bistro but sadly never put in a TA review.very welcoming service the minute you walk through the door.Varied and reasonable menu on offer. The scones are delicious. The sandwiches are monsters. The soup of the day has always been tasty, hot and big portion. The deserts on offer are killers. What a great selection to chose from. The cheesecake portions are massive and could easily be shared between two people.Problem with the location is that unless you know it there, tucked back off the road, you can easily drive right past it.if you do read this review, please make sure you stop in by, even if its for a tea or coffee, you wont be disapointed.PS a nice selection of chutneys, preserves and other deli items available.

really nice selection of food and the cafe section serves delicious food but with slow (but friendly) service. The cafe service needs better organised to make it more efficient but can not fault the food or friendliness when it comes. Quite expensive for a small deli in a country village.

We always go to this deli for lunch as the soup is freshly made and the panini's are made with their own cheeses and are lovely. The seating area is a bit higgledy piggledy inside but the food makes up for it.

We found the deli after having tried and failed to get a seat at the main café in Cullen. It's a shame the deli is out of the centre a little bit as it deserves to be much busier. The food was freshly prepared, well presented and very tasty. We couldn't resist taking cakes home with us as they looked so delicious... and they were. Glad we found it. Will go back in future.

Stumbled upon this farm shop and cafe while looking for a late lunch. Lovely menu with sandwiches, soup, jacket potatoes etc. All food freshly made. We had ham sandwiches and a slice of cake, all of which were tasty. We ordered a child meal for our 21 month old son which consisted of a sandwich, few quavers, grapes and cucumber slices and a small chocolate bar (that they gave us after he ate his main meal, which was handy!). There is a big play area for children with lots of toys. The farm shop was well stocked and seemed to have a steady trade. On the way out the lady at the till said we could take some cabbage leaves to feed the cows with, which I’m sure was the highlight for my son (and hubby hehe)!

As someone one else has pointed out, it’s now called the Spey Inn. Was there earlier this week for lunch as in area and parents recommended it from a visit a year or so ago. It was quiet but we got a friendly welcome from the two members of staff. My parents commented on the size of the menu which has apparently changed and did seemed limited in choices. 3 of us ordered the Cullen Skink soup. It tasted fine but not much fish ands lots of potatoes. Three of us then had sandwiches, the Club sandwich was very good, well filled with bacon, tomato etc and was tasty. Me and my mum both had the egg mayonnaise sandwich. It looked different in that it was 2 whole slices of toast which I thought may have been included in the description. That said I can live with this, however what was very unusual and disappointing was the quantity of filling in these two sandwiches. It appeared that there was a smear of egg mayo as in the quantity of butter you would spread on a slice of bread (and in this case it was spread onto 2 slices of thick toast). Without exaggerating it appeared that 1 egg had been used to fill 2 sandwiches . The salad that accompanied it was nice and the fish and chips the other member of our group had was apparently good. We did mention it to the server who said he’d mention our views to the chef, but it just seemed odd. We also mentioned to a member of staff at an early stage of our visit, that there was no soap in the gents toilets (you could clearly see the soap dispenser was empty when you walked in), however when leaving some time later this had not been rectified, despite the fact the restaurant was not busy. It wasn’t a cheap lunch and it was fairly disappointing overall. Unless this was a one off, don’t think I would return.
