Attended a conference here and couldn't ask for anything more. 1st class service.

My third stay for business and my number one choice for the area. The whole hotel is noticeably very clean, and when you stay in many hotels then this one sticks out as being spotless. The bedrooms are huge and the beds are very comfortable. The staff offer a great service and no request is an inconvenience. The night porter is fantastic (and hilarious). Very well stocked whisky bar. Great breakfast including gluten free options for me. We've hosted a business conference here in the past and the setting and service was brilliant, so would also recommend this service. (Some Scottish GF beer would be my only recommendation, especially now there are so many that everyone can drink)😉

Very nice service. The bar is a place for a whisky connoisseur. A wide selection of spirits. Very tasty dishes in the restaurant. Very friendly service at the bar and in the restaurant.

This is a nice hotel, excellent food, excellent service, our room had a shower in the bath which is difficult to get in and out of which reflects the rating I have given but otherwise the room was great. Very helpful and friendly staff 😃

Elgin, die alte Domstadt, hat viele Sehenswürdigkeiten und ist somit immer einen Besuch wert. The Mansefield gehört zu den besten Hotels der Stadt. Wir waren 2 Tage dort und können das Hotel empfehlen. Es gibt 3 Teile im Hotel - den altehrwürdigen Altbau, einen etwas verwinkelten Anbau und einen Neubau mit großzügig geschnittenen Apartments. Im Anbau hatten wir ein Zimmer mit Blick zur Straße und einer belebten Straßenkreuzung. Da dieses Zimmer wegen dem starken Verkehr recht laut war, äußerten wir am nächsten Morgen den Wunsch, in ein ruhigeres Zimmer umziehen zu können. Die Rezeption kam uns hier entgegen und bot uns ein Appartement im Neubau an. Der Neubau liegt etwas ab von der Straße. Damit konnten wir die 2. Nacht bei geöffneten Fenstern und einer sehr guten Matratze bestens schlafen. Somit können wir das Appartement trotz der Mehrkosten uneingeschränkt empfehlen. Auch der Service und das Angebot zum Frühstück hat unsere Wünsche vollständig erfüllt. Und es sei noch erwähnt, dass wir im Hotel an einem Destinationcharger unser E-Auto kostengünstig zu einem Pauschalpreis aufladen konnten. Wir kommen gern wieder.

First visit since the Bar re-opened after covid restrictions, Great atmosphere and staff so friendly! Few refurbishments have been done over the lockdown, making it more of a bar scene Perfect central location for drinks with friends, casual and chilled! Cocktails were amazing,

We stayed at the hotel and booked room service which is via the Mezzo Bar, the staff who delivered the food were very attentive the food we ordered soup of the day and haggis for starters and main of fish and chicken. The starters were lovely and the soup is a very generous portion, the mains very again a very good standard with the chicken being superb. Very happy with the food at Mezzo and a good hotel attached,

Had a meal here for our 50th wedding anniversary and the staff were lovely. Could not fault the meal and drinks. We had a very disappointing experience at another venue and chose this place to have a meal just the evening before at an attempt to salvage something of our celebrations. I have to say it was in every way the redeemer.

Had dinner here with a friend whilst working in the area. The restaurant wasn't overly busy with a few empty tables. It was valentines day which we did not realise and they had a fixed menu. The food was ok as was the service but it was rather pricy in my opinion for what we got. Nothing wrong with the food and I understand now what night it was but it did work out at £40 a head for an ok meal with limited choice.

Just needed something tasty and this place is attached to the hotel we were staying at - good range on the menu and some fine wines but the selection of whisky is outstanding

We dined here twice as our hotel had no facilities. The food and service were first class. It is a pity we didn't now abut this hotel before. Would fully recommend.

The finest food in Elgin! Friendly staff and ALWAYS fresh. The price is a surprise, I would gladly have paid more.

We were out early for dinner and found Mezzo, staff were welcoming and friendly, They do a good deal on the carvery special, I started with a salmon dish, nice yoghurt sauce and good sald. we both had the duck which they advertise as served pink, but ours were cooked through, and a bit tasteless. the cranachan sweets were aerosol cream based but the fruit coulis in the bottom lifted it. This place deserves to do well.

Good food which came out quickly, good service, friendly and professional staff and reasonably well priced.

A nice choice of menu and nice friendly staff, we were well looked after, we didn't like our table that we had reserved but got moved without any problem, it was a nice relaxing evening and not rushed in any way.

We dined here while visiting friends in Elgin and were very satisfied. The food was delicious (we all enjoyed all of our 3 courses). The Lossie Salmon is especially good as is the Champagne sorbet for those who don't usually eat puddings! The restaurant has a relaxed atmosphere with friendly,helpful staff. We stayed on for drinks in the bar afterwards an had a thoroughly enjoyable evening.

Starting with the food, it is not bad food in any way but it does lack any sort of wow factor. It could be described as competent, a decent home cook could probably meet the standard achieved here, which considering they are a bit more expensive isn't really good enough. The restaurant/bar doesn't really seem to know what it wants to be and ends up really being neither so not the best atmosphere for a nice meal or for drinks afterwards. Staff were friendly and helpful but as this sits between being a bar and a restaurant, sometimes you get table service for drinks and sometimes you don't. This place would probably make a better lunch venue.

This restaurant was recommended as one to try, and as it was conveniently close to our accommodation, we followed the recommendation. We were welcomed by pleasant, friendly staff even though the restaurant was busy. The young waitress who served us was knowledgeable about menu and serving sizes. As I am a small eater, she was able to assure me that a serve of garlic bread and their starter of sole with salad would probably be enough for me. Both were perfectly cooked and delicious. My husband had a tomato and mozzarella salad, which was delicious and the duck, which he felt was a little over cooked, but overall a very good meal

A very enjoyable meal at a fair price in pleasant surroundings. Try the Lossie Salmon and their cheesecake.

Fantastic meal, it was absolutely delicious couldn’t fault anything. The duck was beautifully cooked, everyone else’s meals too were all amazing! First time in a long time since I’ve been there but will definitely be back.

Went there last night for a birthday celebration - a table for 8 with one wheelchair user that needed a chair with sides on - waitress says they do not have any but we reminded her that they did in the restaurant and she grudgingly got one. The back 4 seat were situated against the wall so the waitress could not serve anything properly to these seats and she tried to pass across very hot plates to people who did not have anything to receive them with! The food was ok but nothing special and the waitress behind the bar was very pleasant but the attitude of the other waitress was awful - maybe she should have stayed at home. We will not be going again

I visited here about 6 years ago and remember not being terribly impressed. Thought I might try it again but it was worse than I remembered.

Went in for a meal on Friday. Was absolutely stunning. Both had 3 courses with no complaints. Food came out quick and service was good. Both girls working were very attentive. Would highly recommend! Definitely visit again.

Great food & excellent whisky selection (both for sale or on display)

So here is a little background about myself - I have 10+ years of working in catering, hospitality and entertainment at varying levels including coming from a family of Chefs and Multi award winning bakers.

I'm up in Scotland visiting family and my sister booked the table here for 6.30pm. We all felt that the restaurant was very cold and complained about it but even though the staff said they would do something about it nothing seemed to happen and it was still cold when we left at 9pm. We were told that because the tables were granite they take a while to heat up! The mind boggles!

Dinner with 3 colleagues on a quiet night but didn’t ruin our meal. Food was lovely and good portions - haggis bites and goujons go down a treat. Shame the place is no longer open for lunch as definitely would return during the day.

Sophisticated decor and polite staff make visit an absolute pleasure - lovely food and super cocktails!

Extremely surprised by the Mezzos low rating due to the exceptional evening myself and others had last night. Both starters and mains were outstanding. The sirloin steak & beef medallions were cooked to perfection. I was impressed with the portion sizes - I’m very much used to ordering extras due to small servings but this was not the case. I was delighted with the size and price of my 10oz steak - I normally spend more on just an 8oz. I’d further like to note that the sticky toffee pudding was the best I’ve ever tasted - it was delicious! Overall, the food was excellent and the service was superb! Will definitely recommend to others & be back again.

On a business trip and this was near my accommodation. What a find! Service was warm and friendly and the waitress really knew her gin. Excellent recommendation! Food was delicious and plentiful. Would recommend

I took a party if 16 of my family to here as a treat for my partners 60th and i thought i would treat them to some fine dining the staff were very good with the children in the party and we got our drinks...

We attended a wedding here recently and found every aspect, layout, food, staff, drinks, location to be absolutely perfect. A true 10 out of 10 place to stay eat and drink

First visit for us 3 ladies. Absolutely delicious food. Very well presented and the service was excellent. Tiger prawns mmm! We were also given complimentary prosecco as there was a large party in and there were glasses left over so the waitress offered them to us. Will definitely go back. You just cannot beat this high quality of food.

our first visit and it was fantastic,we got the starter of pasta squares filled with lobster,it was excellent i really loved this,main course was chicken coujons fresh made and it was all very nice,would go again .staff were excellent very friendly and helpful,makes all difference when you have great staff as well.

We only went here as we had a voucher to use up. However we were absolutely delighted with the welcome, the service and the quality of the food. We all had three courses each and left nothing on the plates. The men enjoyed the lager us ladies the soft drinks. Came away with every intention of returning. The staff were very friendly, the waiting time for the food to arrive not long and the time between courses just perfect. We felt totally relaxed and enjoyed the ambience of the restaurant.

Wonderful well-decorated bar and friendly service. Good starters with huge King prawns which went well with the black pudding. Very disappointing main meal the sautéed potatoes hadn't been sautéed any time recently, these were soggy. Bland sauce with the chicken, wasn't getting any pesto flavour, but the green beans were crisp which almost saved it. Stale profiteroles with cream instead of the creme pat I was looking forward to, and missing an ice cream on a (tasty) key lime pie. Left feeling disappointed, and to be fair with an adjusted bill.Go for the drinks and lovely surroundings not the food.

We were visiting friends and they had eaten at Mezzo before, so we knew it would be good. It's quite a modern restaurant with well stocked bar, especially for those who like a good malt! We all decided to do all three options, starter, main and pud! I had the tomato and mozarella which was delicious. I followed this with a beef stroganoff which had brandy and thinly sliced red peppers in a creamy sauce. It was yummy. Pudding was for me, key lime pie with chocolate ice cream. All the food was beautifully presented and was piping hot. The ladies serving the drinks knew a thing or two too. Recommendations of types of gin to try were forthcoming and tried! We had a thoroughly lovely evening. Would definitely go back. Congratulations to all the staff!

Had two nights in Elgin and decided to eat in the Hotels Mezzo.Friendly and helpful staff showed me to my window table for one.Nice pint of Peroni to start. Opted for the Haggis bites. Very nice indeed.Followed that with the chicken breast on a bed of Haggis. Again very nice.No room for pudding. All the above accompanied with a large glass of Shiraz.The only downside was the cost. Rather expensive I think. I would use again though.

Lovely restaurant the food is great..only complaint is that when we go in there they stick everyone in same area...it's a nice size spread people out a bit...found it hard to have a conversation with my husband without feeling like everyone was sat at the table with us.

The food was ok but the staff are just downright rude! Where do they get them from? This could be such a gem of a restaurant as the decor is good and the location is ideal, but the attitude of some of the staff is just terrible! I felt sorry for the one young waitress who was trying to be polite.

Me and My family recently visited the Mezzo for a birthday meal. The food was terrific the staff were very attentive. Not one single complaint and every plate was empty. 10/10

Very good food. Had breakfast each morning and dinner 3 nights out of 6 in the hotel/Mezzo. Had several of the mains and several starters. All were very good.

My husband and I came with his parents for an evening meal, we all had starters, haggis, prawn and black pudding and the poached egg and asparagus, all very tasty and beautifully presented. For mains we had the duck, seafood medley, steak pie and beef stroganoff. Again all very tasty and beautifully presented. Two of us had deserts. The trio of deserts was impressive. The food while Good, didn't blow you away and I wouldn't say excellent however we had excellent customer service, great atmosphere, and value for money and would definitely come back

Following a recent trip to the cinema myself & a friend visited the Mezzo for a drink arriving approx 10.15pm . Bar wasn't very busy but clearly had a wedding being held next door . When we decided to stay , I went to order another drink only to be told that we had to leave as they were closing !! It was 11.10pm . Needless to say I or my friend won't be returning !! Seriously asked to leave a bar on a Saturday night !!! Sort it out Mezzo

Overall an enjoyable meal but falls short of expectations of a four star hotel restaurant. Lots of choices on menu.The menu warns you duck will be served pink, however it was overcooked and no pink was visible.

Managed to catch last orders in this restaurant, which the staff says was no problem. Varied menu with excellent food in a relaxed atmosphere with no pressure from the staff for me to leave.

Having visited previously and had great food, we took family for a Saturday night meal. The service was fine, but the food was disappointing, especially for the price. Two people had the prawn cocktail starter, but the taste of prawns was distinctly lacking, with everything overpowered by the sauce. The prawns were tasteless. For main course, two people had the fish. Perhaps this was poor reading of the menu, but what arrived was essentially fish soup which was so hot we burnt our mouths. We were also left very hungry.

I was staying in the Mansefield hotel so are in here,always good food was never let down. Give it a try.

Despite the new decor and sparkly appearance, we were disappointed with the service and the food yet again. For somewhere which has the opportunity to almost corner the market in terms of what else is on offer in Elgin, Mezzo misses the mark by some distance. It's difficult to put my finger on it, but there seems an air of superiority about a few of the senior members of staff that lets the rest of the hard working team down.

Came here for the cocktail making experience with friends and some family for my 18th Birthday and had the best time. £25 per person was such great value for money. We were offered prosecco on arrival, then made 3 cocktails and finally were able to make a 4th cocktail of our choice from a list. The member of staff was very patient with us and must have bought we were barking mad. This is a really great way to spend an 18th birthday as you can have lots of fun whilst getting a wee bit tiddlywinks. Overall a really fun experience and thinking of doing it again next year!!

This was our first time in the area and this place caught our eye from the beginning.On walking in the bar and restaurant is modern and classy.There is 3 shelves of Scottish whisky to try and a small seating area outside to enjoy. We only had a drink but we would in future eat here for sure.

The mezzo at the Mansefield is ideal for any special night out. The service is good and fairly quick and the standard of food presented is high. I've been on a number of occasions and theirs been a vast improvement since December 2015. The staff are friendly and nothing is to much to ask. Food always hot when received with great flavour and generous portions. I've given 4 star instead of 5 as I feel the food is slightly over priced.

Have eaten here many times and had no issues however our recent visit was very disappointing. No problem with the food but service another story.... We ordered bread before starters which arrived just before our main course, onion rings which we had to ask for again arrived when we had finished our main course..... Then at 9.40pm we were asked for last orders as they were quiet and would be closing early! Normally look forward to dinner here but will certainly think twice about returning.

Visited the Mezzo bar with a large group of friends for drinks. We were made to feel very unwelcome from the moment we arrived and the service we received from one member of staff in particular was quite frankly appalling. Were made to feel more like naughty schoolchildren than paying customers and were told to sit down and we would get drinks and if we didn't she threatened to throw us out, not the service I would expect anywhere after being in a place 2 minutes! The waitress seemed more concerned that we may disturb the few diners there. We had one drink and left and all agreed we would not return as a group, with our partners, other friends or family. On leaving I did make comment to another member of staff at how terrible it was and was told "she hadn't heard so couldn't comment". I have visited the mezzo multiple times in the past and have never received such terrible customer service (I have never received such awful service anywhere else to be honest).

We stayed at the adjoining Mansfield Hotel while touring Scotland. The food and service were excellent and we would highly recommend a visit.

Had a lovely meal here during our stay in Elgin. I had a sirloin think hubby has fillet medallions Would recommend. Very pleasant surroundings indeed and seems a very popular place.

Staff are very friendly,food is amazing but can be expensive if you go for the steak section vast whisky choice and champagne at £1,500 a bottle

My wife and I were looking forward to a nice meal out in Elgin. We booked the Mezzo for 8.30pm a 4 star hotel .On arrival the head waiter did not even make eye contact when we arrived and said that they were busy and their may be a delay. We sat down in the bar area trying to block out the noise of the live band plying on top of the music being piped in to the bar area. We ordered a bottle of white wine, which he served and left on our table to get warm. I then approached another member of staff and asked for an ice bucket for the wine, he took it from me and said he would put it in the chiller/ fridge!!! 45 minutes later we were at our table. The meal arrived and was really disappointing... My stroganoff tasted like a bland stew and my wife's 'pink duck' was anything but..it was very overcooked. ..As the waiter cleared the plates I told him that we were disappointed with our meal... he said he would 'tell the chef'.. we decided it was best to leave. As I paid my bill.. (on reflection I should have challenged this) I told the waiter that we were really disappointed with our experience and he just stood in silence. I have been going to the Mezzo on and off for many years... I certainly wont be back ... very disappointed evening in what could be a fantastic venue

Visited Mezzo this weekend and I've got to say was the most enjoyable I've ever had there. The manager Arran *i think his name was* couldn't have been more accommodating to us as the restaurant seemed full booked when we arrived. All staff were very attentive and the food was just fab. We both opted for specials available that evening (ceaser salad and the beef stroganoff) which were both delicious and you could tell very fresh ingredients used! After having a few bad experiences there in the past a very well done Mezzo to the turn around, we will definitely be returning.

The food was delicious and service was great. Would recommend for a couple or a group but possibly not family friendly. I'd ask for a table at the back as the 2 seated tables are quite close together so slightly off putting but once you get over that it's a lovely place

We tried the cocktail making for one last time. Definitely will be the last. The place was empty on arrival and we were the only people taking part in the mixology. After being told to be quiet by manageron arrival as a wedding was taking place, we were moved to another table at the opposite side of the room. This appeared to be quite inapproariate to speak to guests in this manner as felt like we were being treated like naughty school,children . The mixology was OK compared to previous visits as they have cut back to only have 2 cocktails , a shot and glass of prosecco which is not worth the money you pay. As it's the same price for less.Why is Elgin not taking,Notice of all the people who go to Inverness every weekend in search of cocktails, etc as this could be a gold mine but when treating the patrons like naughty school children rather notthan paying guests you should be ashamed of yourselves at the Mansefiled. Not a pleasure at all.Any hotel which has good customer service would not have a manager who says to staff that they should get the customers to leave if they are not spending money to leave. Yes, we did hear you say that. This was All said within earshot offs and you should not be a manager, managers should be able to make allowances, you should be ashamed of yourself . We will never visit again and definitely not recommend anyone visits the mezzo.

Recently enjoyed a meal in the newly refurbished mezzo restaurant- great Steak & cooked really well, lovely surroundings, better service than I've seen there in years - all in all an improvement on before.

We were looking for dinner in town but options all too busy. Decided to try Mezzo and thank goodness we did! Excellent meals, value for money (drinks expensive but the cocktails looked great!) and friendly staff. Will definitely do a return visit.

I love this place, visit every time I'm back in Elgin, the food is amazing and the staff are really friendly, I love the elegant atmosphere.

Elgin lacks good eateries and so this stands out. Food is excellent and the service is of a good standard. The menu is not enormous, but there is always a good choice. The smaller menu gives confidence that the food is freshly prepared.

We went to the restaurant instead of the Mezzo! Was beautiful inside. Warm and friendly welcome as we went through the doors. Staff were on hand at all times - making sure we had plenty drinks/sauce etc! Food was brought out promptly and hot. As u can see from the pictures - it was pretty magic! Haggis bites followed by Cajun Chicken Goujons and Fillet Medallions - very tasty! Inside the restaurant it was warm with an open fire on the wall - very snazzy! Sparkling lights above - very modern. Would definitely go back for an occasion! Only bad thing was the waiter just came back from a fag!! Not the best of smells!! Overall would definitely recommend for a special occasion or date night!

Been here four times and the experience has varied enormously. On 2 occassions it was first class as the food was delicious and the service was second to none. However, on our last visit this was noit the case. It was not busy - there were on another four covers but the service was painfully slow. There were plenty of staff but most were doing nothing apart from one waitress who was working her socks off. The food was not up to the usual standard and when I asked about this I was infromed that the usual chef was not working that week. I ordered a mushroom rissoto but it was stodgy and due to the taragon cream sauce very sickly. The portion was huge but a little side sald or even some bread would have made to easier on the palette. I left most of it. Another person in our party ordered the soup as a starter and it was huge = too big and this mean't she had a problem finishing the main - we were brought up to finish what was on our plate. Another member ordered the duck - it was delicious - but not enough of it. Maybe they need a wee rethink about portion control and staff attentiveness.

Service is erratic and amateurish. Restaurant needs a Manager to coach the staff in the basics of service.Food is very very average.

Visited with friends. We were the only diners for lunch, 2 other ladies came in, read the menu and left. It could be that the only menu options are main meals, no snacks, sandwiches,etc. The menu is the same at lunchtime as it is in the evening. This definitely could put people off dining here if they just wanted a light lunch. Our meals were ok, bit greasy, the risotto was more than Al Dente, but edible.the cocktail masterclass more than made up for things though. We were guided by Bethan, the mixologist, who was very good with us and showed us how to make some great tasting cocktails. Would recommend doing this as it was good value.

This place used to be known as a nice place to meet, eat with a high standard. No longer. Food was awful, staff couldn't cope as there was a function on in the hotel. Ran out of prosecco, prosecco flutes and wine buckets as they were apparently next door at the function.

If you want a relaxing meal on a Sat night dont go to the Mezzo when there is a wedding dance on in the function hall adjacent as you are deafened by the music from the wedding. When we commented to the waiter that the music was really loud he advised us that we should have taken ear plugs! We moved to our table and a couple moved to our seat to try and lessen the noise as they were nearer the door to the hall then the folk who sat in their seat was domineered by the music. At the end of what can be described as a mediocare meal with expensive drinks - we waited ages for our drink at the table and had to get the waitress to chase it up - we asked to speak to the manager. A lady presented herself at our table, never introduced herself, just said "yes" My husband asked "are you the manager" to which she said she was and her name was Connie.She told us that this was what you should expect in the Mezzo when there is a wedding on and that it is a noisy bar and if there was no wedding on they would have the music in the bar playing loudly. I replied I could then ask it to be turned down but I had no control over the loud 2nd hand music from the wedding. My husband asked for discount off the meal but was told icily "there is no way thats going to happen" By this time my husband was getting irritated by her noncholant attitude and rudeness so I tried to placate the situation but made no headway with the ice maiden this is Connie. She said that next time I came in I should sit at the other end of the bar or use the dining room. When I advised her there would be no next time she said that was up to me. She told me that has been the situation at the Mezzo for the past 13 years and they are busy every Sat night. I can only assume it is with new customers rather than returning ones. Connie seems to have no grasp of customer service and was really defensive and unfriendly. Definately wont be back and wont be recommending it to my guests in my wee holiday home

Went here after being given favourable reviews from friends. The food was a very poor standard, which I could have accepted, if we had been at a Brewers Fayre or Little Chef and been paying £10 a head, but the fact they are charging the prices they are and dressing up their dishes to be something they aren't, is laughable.To give one example I had the 'Haggis Gateaux' to start. Given the title and price (nearly £8) I was really expecting something special. What I didn't expect was a bland stack of haggis, neeps and tatties, that had clearly just been set using a round cake mould. Main courses, the risotto was like stodgy porridge (totally over cooked) and the steak pie really WAS like something from a Brewers Fayre. Tough meat, watery, bland gravy and pastry that disintegrated.It's quite clear that this place uses the cheapest of the cheap ingredients and tries to pass it off as something fancy, in the hope that their decor and staff (both very good I must say) will be able to carry it off for them. Sorry guys but the FOOD should ALWAYS be the star of the show in a restaurant.I just about choked when I seen our £50 bill. Crazy to think for an extra £10 you could have lunch at a Michelin Star restaurant.As said above the only reason this lot got a 2 out of 5 was down to their staff, who were very friendly.

Used to love the mezzo for food and drinks but last 2 visits have been awfull. Gave the place the benefit of the doubt at the end of last month because we all have off days. Came back lastweekend to just as bad service and awful food. Dry, burnt and bland. Overcooked steaks and salty sauces with well over seasond chips. Nobody on the table enjoyd there meal nor will return. The poor service and the full of themselfs blond at the bar looking down on everyone are just 2 of the reasons to avoid without a second thought.

The food as always is good at the Mezzo, however with the tile flooring it is more like a wine bar - a bit cold if it is not full

Went out for a family meal, brother in law was thinking of getting married at this place so we went to try it out. Very nice place, unfortunately let down by very average food. Very expensive and should have been a lot better.

Excellent cocktail menu, plenty of choice. Good attentive service. Well worth a visit! We didn't eat here but food looked good too. Nice place to sit and relax and have a few drinks .

Booked in early evening and the staff were very good and knowledgeable. The meals were of a very good standard and there was something for everybody on the menu. Will definately visit again.

Booked the mixology class for my birthday and SO glad I did! 6 of us got shown how to make a wide choice of cocktails, had so much fun, tried different things and the staff were fantastic! Lots of giggles later, staff still smiling and had a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon. Try this - you'll be glad you did!

8 of us spent a Fantastic Sunday afternoon making cocktails with Connie. Started the afternoon with a glass of prosecco then Connie showed us how to make French Martini or flavoured Cosmopolitan, strawberry daiquiri, 3 layer shot then we were let loose behind the bar to make our choice I made chocolate orange and it was lovely, many other cocktails were made and they all tasted fabulous.We needed food after such an active afternoon and we weren't disappointed with our choice. The service here was great and we all thoroughly enjoyed our experience ....... We must have because we booked our Christmas party .. Booked a table for our anniversary meal we arrived 20 mins early where we were seated in their waiting area and offered drinks. 30 minutes later with 2 reminders to the lovely waitress that we still hadn't received our wine we politely queried how long our drinks would be and if our table was ready! A very rude lady appeared and abruptly told us 'we shouldn't have arrived 20mins before the time our table was booked, they were very very busy with a huge hen party a wedding next door and were also short staffed on the bar' my reply was 'I have previously worked in this industry and understand staff shortages however we would just like to know how long it will be before we get seated and when we are expected to get our drinks and food as we have been waiting a long time and have overheard the waitress explain to another couple that other people had been waiting over an hour for their meal' I also advised her this was a very special occasion for us, we had paid a child minder and explained again we just want an indication of how long things will be. Her words were 'this is not a fast food service, if you do not want your table I will release it to someone else' my reply 'we don't want a fast food service but this is meant to be a 5* Hotel/Restaurant and your Customer Service and attitude is the worst I've ever come across'. Other people in the waiting area confirmed she was the owner and that she is always very rude to members of the public and staff!!!!!Needless to say we will not be going back and will be spreading the word to family and friends how rude this person was. I have never received such bad Customer service in my life and felt very intimidated by her approach to our table! Luckily we did not let her ruin our evening as my husband had walked out half way through the conflict and I was not far behind him.

I was dining with 8 friends. The table was booked for 7.30pm and the food had been preordered. We all arrived about 15 mins early, sat down at table and waited for a drinks order to be taken, most of us were going to have a cocktail. The waitress never appeared to take our order. At 7.30 our starters arrived and still no drinks order was taken. When the waitress brought bottles of water arrived and we took the opportunity to ordered wine instead. We were nearly finished our starters before the wine arrived, with no glasses. We had started our main course before the glasses arrived, even after we asked for them several times, to be told rather snidely that the glasses were coming. At the end of the meal 3 people ordered coffees. It took the waiting staff 30mins to serve the coffee. The restaurant wasn't particularly busy and there were several staff working. The food on the other hand was good and nicely presented., but spoilt by the inattention of the waiting staff. We had to help clear away our starter dishes because our main courses had arrived before the starter plates had been cleared away. As a group, who go out for dinner regularly, we were all very disappointed with the service and as a result I think it will be very unlikely that we would visit the restaurant again

Best afternoon ever.....cocktail making and tasting session with Connie.... Started with a glass of sparkly....then made 3 cocktails...got a choice of 2 each time....finished up making a final cocktail from their cocktail list.....didn't met a cocktail I didn't like! Fantastic value for £25..... So good we have booked for their afternoon tea with cocktails in august......

Went here last night for the first time and honestly didn't think Elgin even had restaurants as nice as this, food was excellent.. And it had a lovely romantic feel. Friendly staff and also lovely cocktails. Glad we picked here for dinner!

Visited on a Saturday lunchtime at 1, and I was the only one there...that was a surprise.The restaurant is very well decorated and very pleasant, although I've sat on more comfy seats.The (red) wine choice was a bit limited and when I enquired about the 'promotional wines available at the bar', I seemed to just confuse them.I had the Cullen Skink, and it was fantastic. It's probably the best I've tasted. The haggis bites were great and the steak pie was delicious. I finished it off with a great sticky toffee pudding which was obviously home made. Overall, it was on the expensive side but it was worth it.My advice to the management: keep your red wine somewhere a bit warmer, put out side plates with your bread and if a customer doesn't want water, take the water glasses away.I will be back the next time I want to treat myself!

Had dinner here several times, always friendly and thorough service and great food. Very nice facilities, I cannot say enough good about the staff.

I ordered soup for starter and cod for the main course. Food was good but not worth the price. Atmosphere in the restaurant is quite nice, fits for couples/romantic dinner.

Service was great and food was delicious I could have eaten everything on the menu! They accommodated 7 of us despite being fully booked.

we werent impressed fully by the food and thought it was pricey for what we had. cocktails made up for it though. staff could be slightly more friendly. would return for drinks but not food.
