Cafe Vanilla in North Lanarkshire

Lovely, friendly staff provided excellent service. Quality produce, well cooked and presented. Dogs had their own bowls of water plus plenty of attention. We didn’t have room for their home baking but took some home to sample, delicious!

Have been here a few times so thought it was time I reviewed. The food here is well presented, very tasty with generous portions. Nice to have a place that uses good quality bread along with other equally good quality food. The staff are lovely.Friendly and make sure you are happy with everything.

Terrible experience. The staff decided to insist I wait outside for not wearing a mask. Despite telling them I am exempt medically. None of them were wearing masks either. Worst service ever

Ordered an afternoon tea for my mums birthday. They made the ordering really easy and they were so helpful and delivered the afternoon tea to my mums house which was really kind of them. The afternoon tea portion size was unbelievable! I couldn’t believe how much was included. Everything was fresh and tasty! My mum was over the moon with this afternoon tea and I would order again! Afternoon tea is a must!

Lovely staff, amazing sausage and bacon roll, the best I've ever had. Marvellous cakes, clean toilets and very covid secure. I'll be back next time I'm this far north

The food was delicious and the pancakes were amazing! The staff were really friendly and helpful especially to our dog who was given a few dog biscuits and a bowl of water. Would really recommend!

Live close by, but had never been. Work colleague recommended for a takeaway lunch. Home made soup hot and delicious and baguette filled to the brim with goodies. Servers were helpful and cheery, lovely quirky décor and reasonably priced. Cakes looked fabulous....but that's for another day.

Had one of their breakfast yesterday. Cooked to perfection!!! Staff very pleasant and helpful. Would defintely be back for more!! Great work girls keep it up!! 😉👍👍😁😁

This place used to be good but sadly it has deterioted. The coffee is rotten and the food is not great. Some staff have faces that are trippin them & it is also expensive. Lovely decor does not compensate for the above!

First & last time visiting here. Just avoid at all costs. Looks lovely from the outside but the food is not good. The sausages are not edible. I through up in my mouth & had to leave! Disgusting.

This is a first class cafe with delicious freshly prepared food every day, healthy breakfast, soups and homemade cakes, all appetising and a feast for the eyes. Always a great variety of home baking and all the cakes are to die for.

Vanilla cafe is a hidden gem! I am a regular visitor & here never been disappointed. The food is delicious,always freshly made & the home baking is fab. The cosy surroundings, china cups, tea cosies and the lovely staff always make each visit a pleasure. I will keep returning !!

This is the second time I've been here and wasn't disappointed. I had soup and a sandwich and both were delicious. Fresh and tasty and couldn't be better. Took some cakes away with me and they were great too. Back again tomorrow to this little hidden gem. Recommend booking a table at lunchtime as it can be busy.

Avoid. Sue the owner is so rude to her staff in front of customers and was overheard talking about regular customers. Out of date meat and mouldy rolls being used. Environmental health have been out.

Went into this cafe to see if I could get something quick on the road. I'm gluten intolerant and was pleasantly surprised that this cafe has gluten free bread and rolls. The staff were also really helpful and friendly. Cakes also looked amazing! There should be more places as good as this, hope it keeps doing well

Nipped in with my DH for cake and coffee. Service was lovely, cake was yummy and loved the details of the fine China and cake fork. Will definitely be back.

Visitamos aquí con 2 amigos hoy. Menú extenso y bien de precio. Interior, me gustó el antiguo espejos en la pared, con cómodas sillas y mesas sólidas. El personal era muy agradable. Fantástica selección de homebaking, la torta de zanahoria era delicioso como lo era el café con leche. Sin duda volveremos para probar los elementos del menú.

Mi marido y yo visitamos con nuestras tres hijas y tenía un delicioso almuerzo. El calabacín y la sopa de espárragos era muy sabroso. Nos aprovechamos de la sopa y oferta de sándwiches. Un montón de relleno estaban disponibles. Mi hija tenía la tortitas con bacon, que a ella le encantaba. Los más jóvenes dos pulidos. queso hamburguesas con patatas fritas. Fue muy concurrido y es popular entre las familias, los comensales mayores y solitario buscando una comida tranquila en un entorno agradable.

We popped in for a quick lunch today and were very impressed at the quality of food, friendly service and the prices which are very reasonable. The sweet potato and pepper soup was amazing and the cakes looked delicious, will definitely be back soon.

Un salto para café y pastel tarde un sábado. Nos dieron una bienvenida acogedora y preciosa, nuestra camarera era joven encantador y amable. El café es relajante y tiene un bonito café campestre. Tartas preciosas también!! No puedo creer que nunca he estado antes, volveré!!

A nice little cafe in a somewhat unusual location-very family orientated- Food was quite in expensive and staff very friendly

I used to go to this place a lot, service was always slow and bit frustrating but it was worth the wait as there really is no where else nice in Cumbernauld. However, now, after still waiting excruciatingly long for your food (and drinks!), you are presented with a sub standard meal (for example, onions burnt black on the roll). I gave this place a few chances as I did like it but it was repetitively disappointing. Also, you don't want to send your food back, as it will be dinner time before you get it cooked again for you. Shame it turned out that way.

Love this wee place for a nice fresh cooked brekkie on the weekend. All the staff are really friendly and we try to get back as often as we can. Miss the Sunday opening though as I often have to work a Saturday.

Have eaten in both branches and always enjoyed it. Have had lunches and cakes -- all home made and all really really good. Staff are a delight-- so helpful and so friendly. It's great to have something independent on our doorstep rather than the chains. Keep up the good work

Visited cafe vanilla in condorrat 4 a tea/coffee. Staff friendly. Decor very nice. Were served quickly however staff didnt look comfortable as if they were still learning and came nack to check our order of 1 tea and 1 coffee. Thot the tea would have been a pot with a china cup as thats what id seen in the photos on the website so was a bit disappointed when a white mug appeared. Customer next 2 us sent bak their drinks as they were cold. Cakes looked delicious so will go back another time and try.

i had not been in this cafe for a while and went back this week, was so disappointed the standard off food has dropped dramatically, the new staff were friendly as usual definitely not the food, the food used to be freshly cooked and to be honest i cant think of anywhere better for a fry, this week i got over cooked bacon and potato scone you could not cut with a saw, most of it reheated i think , all i can guess is the staff has been moved to condorrat , hope they are moved back soon , would find it hard to give one star now, disappointed !!!

Visited for lunch. Lovely, welcoming staff serving delicious food, their cakes are fantastic. We'll be back. Decor, although new is dated.

Cafe Vanilla is a small cafe with very friendly staff. Food is excellent and very good value., cooked to order so always fresh. Lovely home made cakes, wonderful soup and a huge variety of lovely teas. Wonderful relaxing place to enjoy lunch

have been a few times only thing that lets this place down badly is the lack of service, food is lovely. on arriving today to treat my aunt and place was only half full we waited over 10 minuets to not even be acknowledged thus leaving us to walk out don't know if we shall even return.

Just finished my sweet potato & pepper soup and a lovely turkey baguette with melted monetary jack cheese very tasty indeed. Tea in proper tea pot and lovely China mugs. Friendly staff nice place to eat.

What can I say we use Cafe Vanilla a lot either sitting in and also take away as we live less than 5 minutes away . This cafe is brilliant the food is amazing and very reasonable the staff are all friendly and helpful and the home baking is to die for. We love the amazing soups also and we love the scrambled egg it's amazing x

Had to wait as it was very busy but it was worth it. I had a soup and sandwich deal. Both very good and great value. Excellent service from lovely friendly staff.

Venue was lovely. Surprising table service and use of real china plateware. Cleanliness was exceptional! Food was genuinely delicious. Maybe a.little too pricey for me to use regularly as a cafe...cost £13 for soup, sandwich, coke, coffee and cake...more what id pay for a resturaunt lunch...but maybe that's just me! The quality of the food was so good that i will come back...but with my mum/elderly aunts...they'd love it!The waitresses offering table service are very professional...but maybe a little lacking in friendliness...just a bit cold/uninvolved. The fact that we were asked on arrival if we could manage to vacate or table within 90 minutes as "it would probably be busy later" did not get us off to a good start! (Especially when it did NOT actually get busier...but slowly emptied out)! I hate it when resturaunts do that...makes me want to just turn on my heel and go somewhere else on the spot!Overall...was pleased with my lunch and will be back with my mum someday...but I'm in no rush!

I visited here for the first time and wasn't disappointed. The cafe was very busy and we had to wait about 15 minutes for a table but it was worth it. The food was very fresh and exactly what we wanted. Would definitely recommend.

We needed to find a local place that does a breakfast after lunchtime. Why? Because we are not ready for a big brekky in the morning, but after lunchtime, we are more than ready.Not only did we have almost excellent fry up, not greasy at all and a nice mug of tea - incidentally I don't eat fried egg but they happily gave me scrambled egg instead.BUT, the highlight was the Empire Biscuit with a coffee afterwards. Forget the ones your mum used to make - these are better. Honestly. If you are in or around Cumbernauld (you need a car to get here - it's not town centre) make your way to Vanilla for a sit or take away. Near the Smiddy Bar in Balloch

Went here morning after a good night out. Staff were brill and I had a delicious breakfast. Superb coffee and a wee cake. Brought me back to life. Walked in like a zombie walked out like a champ.

Classy yet homely, the food is top notch, all freshly made. Home made cakes are to die for! Lovely interior with China cups ;-) & suits my daughter age 23, my Mother & My Grand Mother! Really love going here for breakfast & lunch.

Not easybto find but your sat nav should help you. Once you find, a great litle hidden gem. Quite a nice environment and the food very well prepared. So, worth finding for an unusual ooutlet

superb wee gem in our concrete town. Service very good, food is amazing and very reasonably priced. Good home baking. Never seem in a rush for you to leave. Worth a visit I have had 3 visits in past 5 weeks.

I had the pleasure of visiting Cafe Vanilla again last week and thoroughly enjoyed the delicious tuna hoagie and homemade cake that I had there. The staff are always attentive and pleasant and I often enjoy visiting on Saturdays.

Amazing food friendly staff very reasonable we use cafe vanilla regularly to eat in and takeaway the food is amazing the cakes are to die for I especially love the carrot cake best I've ever tasted would recommend everyone gives this a try you won't be disappointed

We stumbled across this little cafe by accident but are so glad we did. Very small but everything is cooked and prepared on the premises. Staff are friendly and helpful. Cakes are amazing. Excellent value for money.

Visit Cafe Vanilla regularly and it is always a treat. Food is homemade and delicious, it's obvious they use good quality basic ingredients and the owner/cook is VERY good at what she does - the staff look as if they work well as a team and strive to work to a high standard placing the cafe head and shoulders above other similar places. Their attention to detail does not go unnoticed and the cafe itself is spotless, warm, inviting - decor is charming. I don't doubt that these high standards will remain as it is obvious they come naturally - the owner would probably accept nothing less. Hope all their hard work reaps dividends.

My friends suggest we meet there for some lunch and having never been there before though why not. Really nice place and menu for a café. Very good value for money food and service were excellent would definitely will go back again when in the area. Keep up the good work and thank you

The only place in Cumbernauld I can recommend with surety for an amazing breakfast and/or lunch. My fiance and I visit the cafe at least twice a week and its always a pleasure to visit.The service is always friendly and smiling and the food, where limited to a daytime menu, is sublime no matter what you order.Take the time to grab a bite here. You will not be disappointed.

What a gem. Great coffee & fab cake. I had an Extra large cappuchino with a honeycomb syrup shot & a bit of fantastic spiced gingerbread.

I have eaten in this cafe a few times and I can't knock the quality of the food however the service delivery need's urgent attention. The waiting staff seem to be in a dream world and their time management and multi tasking is non existent. They have one solely to slowly put cutlery on the table, whilst the other navigates the tables taking one order every 5 mins! They don't seem to have a clue whats going on, and it all seems extremely disorganised! (Your 30/40min wait for food would also suggest this!) If you're in a hurry avoid at all costs! We have waited at least 10/15 mins until our order was taken! And since we were told they needed the table back in 50 mins we walked out! If this restaurant is so successful that they can afford to allow £20 of food order to walk out the door then great! I won't be back until the appalling service is sorted!!

What a nice place to stop for a coffee, they also do good breakfasts and lunches etc.Why not pop in and try it. I did and found a nice place to go and they will give your dog a bowl of water and a wee treat if you have them with you ... but of course they stay outside . Go on give it a try
