I was served by a very rude young man named ryanm99, he was very immature and at one point stood on one of the tables and done something he called “cube mouth”, the food was also awful and gave me the skitters.

My husband and I stopped at this cafe for some takeaway lunch when stopped at Forfar. The filled rolls were very fresh and huge! packed full of salad with ham and chicken. I commented it was the best rolls I have tasted, as well as being very reasonably priced. Approximately £8.00. We had tea and coffee takeaway. With both of us being lactose intolerant the lovely helpful lady behind the counter made sure we were catered for. Will pop in again if passing to try their coffee made with oat milk.

Stopped for a takeout meal to eat in our van as the place looked clean and we could park outside. I had Scampi & chips but it was undercooked and all slimy inside, the breadcrumbs on the outside were soft and they put that much salt on the chips neither of us could eat the meals. Husband had home made curry and chips but again there was so much salt on top he couldn't eat his either. Awful meal.

My family of four went for a quick lunch. Unsure of our time table due to commitments we asked for takeaway. The young girl who took our order was friendly but not knowledgeable about the menu. We sat down to wait for our food and a man came from the kitchen and told us we didn’t ask for sit in service. We told him we were waiting on the food and going to the restroom. He left and returned with our food. Then when Our driver sat down to check the bag and eat a couple of bites of her food while we waited for the last member of our party to return from the bathroom. He immediately told us we had to leave. When we explained he did not care. He wanted us to leave immediately. Then there were 3 napkins in the bag we had to go back for more. The food was disgusting. The chips were soggy. The salad was ham with beets and Cole slaw dripping with Mayo. Mac and cheese was bland and gelatinous. Would not recommend.

Great Gluten free choices, i had steak pie, ok no lid but was still a great meal with chips and peas. They have a good selection of gf items to choose from and to top it off they had gf chocolate cake. Staff seem knowable and checked with the kitchen if they had any doubts. Will be recommending them other other gluten free friends. Look forward to coming back soon

Popped in to this cafe for the first time for a light lunch. Outside seating was also available. The menu has something for everyone from filled rolls and toasties to home made macaroni cheese and steak pie. The cafe was extremely clean - track and trace was in place and hand sanitizer on every table. Our waitress was friendly and helpful and the food was freshly cooked and came piping hot. Would definitely come here again and recommend it to others.

Since lockdown Kenny has been doing Afternoon tea and salad platters. We had one today - sorry we started eating right away before taking a photo! As we don't have sweet tooths, I asked him to give us a combo of the tea/salad platters and he gave us more than we asked for. We had sandwiches, sausage rolls, pork pie, all sorts of salads, vol a vonts, small, but nice scones, along with little pots of chutneys and pickled onions. And the packaging was really nice as well; not just in bags and takeaway containers. Definitely value for money at £12 for 2. Well done Kenny!

Was “forced” to use this café as the one I normally use was closed. It has absolutely no atmosphere and being charged £2.30 for a mug of weak, instant coffee was a bit excessive. Because of how it’s decorated/ set up, noise seems to echo. Not helped by the owner/waiting staff having extremely loud voices. I don’t go into a coffee shop to have to listen to loud discussions by the waiting staff on whatever subject. It is very distracting if not downright annoying. It’s not a place I’ll be hurrying back to. I had been in once before and the same conditions were in evidence - l thought maybe it was a “one off” but unfortunately no. If you’re happy with a greasy spoon type of place then this will suit but don’t expect a fine dining experience.

Dropped in here this week to check out the food and service at this newish venture on Forfar's busy cafe scene. My wife and I had the soup ... from a good choice of types, we selected the lentil one, clearly made on the premises and both well put together and beautifully served. Along with that and some complementary water, we also ordered the stovies dish, again plated and served with bannocks and no small amount of cheeriness on the part of both cook and waitress. This spacious cafe is clean and comfortable with nice tableware and decor. A full menu appears to be fairly comprehensive for thus type of establishment and offers fine value for one's well-earned buck. Half an hour at the nearby roadside parking bays might be a bit nippit for families having a meal who do not wish to pay the fees in the also nearby main car parks ... I fear this newly announced bit of folly on the part of the Angus Council will adversely affect all local businesses on the High Streets of all the lovely Angus townships.

Really liked the new bright and cheerful premises in the same street ( a few doors up). Quick lunch whilst awaiting bike repairs across the road. Had baked tattie and prawns which was lovely with a skinny latte. Auntie had BLT toasty. Excellent value for money as this tattie was only £3.50 ( see picture). You pay for what you get. Good value for money food and speedy service. Lots of customers in cafe Which is always a good sign of a great value for money establishment ( according to my granny).

On a recent trip to Forfar we were looking for a place to have breakfast for the 2 days we were there. Checked out Tripadvisor and Kenny's Cafe turned up. So we gave it a try. We weren't disappointed. The service is quick and the food sets you up for the day. If you don't want the set breakfast then Kenny is more than accommodating to make up your order and even exchange items on the set menus for something else.Kenny himself is a friendly chap with a spotless cafe. The kitchen is an open style, so you see what is happening all the time. An independent owner offering good old fashioned service with a smile and care for the customer. If you ever find yourself in the vicinity of Forfar High Street then drop. You'll be sure of a warm welcome......even if you're from 'south of the border!'
