The Ginger Cafe in Perth & Kinross

Went here with some friends and was welcomed inside as soon as it opened. I ordered a warm haggis roll with a latte, both of which were tasty and satisfying. The service was excellent! My friends ordered the bacon pancakes and the full Scottish breakfast, and they were both very happy with them too. Overall, a lovely place with an inviting atmosphere and good food!

A pesar que en la pizarra no aparecía el Chai Late, lo pedí y no hubo ningún problema. Y uno de los mejores que tomé en Escocia. Pedimos un chai latte, un latte y un bocadillo. La camarera, muy amable y entre muchas disculpas, nos informó que le faltaba un ingrediente y que nos lo podía cambiar por otro. Elegimos otro que estaba muy bueno y bastante grande, además estaba acompañado con ensalada y patatas. La carta es correcta aunque si estas acostumbrado a una dieta más mediterránea puede costar un poco. Me hubiera gustado más variedad en pastas y bollería. El baño era correcto y limpio.

I was shocked at the price of a flat white coffee £4.00 which is more expensive than Edinburgh cafes. I opted for an Americano which was slightly cheaper. I also had a "scone". I use the word lightly as I have never known a scone to taste like this. It was more of a sponge cake and strongly flavoured with vanilla. I have given an average score due to the staff being so friendly.

Found this place when googling good breakfasts in Perth and were not disappointed. I went for the wee breakfast ( which was actually quite big) and better half had a roll with bacon and sausage. Both are great but we especially liked the bacon which was grilled to perfection, we really enjoyed it and was served with a smile. We will be back next time in Perth. Forgot to take a photo as it was so good I just scoffed it!

Great sausages and black pudding in our morning rolls today! What a difference quality ingredients make, eh? Tasty scrambled eggs and 2 flat whites completed this treat for our first visit. Not our last, that's for sure!

I hate being this person to say this “but if I could rate it a zero I would” and I’m not usually one to add a negative review. Visited here with friends and the wait was ridiculous to say the least. If your food arrives before your drinks that’s usually the time to be asking for a refund in my opinion. My partner and I got our food within about 15/20 minutes which is reasonable however the couple who I was with with is yet to see their food. A can of juice should NOT take an hour to be served. Many orders that were placed after were served. At no time were the waitresses apologetic. These things can be understood if there is a little compassion however it is of my opinion that by reading reviews from 2021 with quite similar complaints I think that the owner may want to teach the staff some manners and improve wait times. The couple we were with asked for a refund and even that didn’t seem very welcomed however I think they are more than within their rights after nearly an hour wait for drinks and a bowl of soup. It might even be worth the staff being trained to advise that there may be a wait on food/drinks as this may actually make customers think twice before ordering. Food wasn’t also worth the money. Also customers cleaning their own tablets is not ideal. Certainly won’t ever be visiting again.

How on earth is this cafè still operating and serving customers??? PLEASE AVOID THIS HORRENDOUS PLACE! Asked for a refund after receiving an absolute joke of a service. Waited 45 minutes for a baked potato, soup, coffee and juice which never came and was told it would be another 10 minutes. Observed multiple tables get their orders in despite having ordered after us. The most awful part which tops it all off though was the poor elderly gentleman who also had family with him- one in a wheelchair had asked to move to a bigger table due to space and helped to clear this table. Absolutely disgrace! The owner should be ashamed. As a table of 4 the other 2 received their food order without cutlery or their drinks until prompting the waitress. Shocking customer service.

My name is Marc, I am a regular at this exceptional cafe with the added bonus that I only live across the road. I must start with saying that every soup of the day that I’ve tried has been the best soup I’ve had in any cafe, restaurant or other type of eatery. The food is of an extremely high standard, tenderly cooked by the affluent, friendly and extremely helpful owner Barbara. A lovely lady who should genuinely have been awarded a Michelin star for her expertise in the kitchen. The waiting staff are very friendly and helpful and they go the extra mile to ensure that my eating experience has me leaving with a smile on my face. The young lady server Lily in particular is extremely pleasant, polite and a huge asset to the little treasure of a cafe right on my doorstep. I highly recommend Ginger Cafe if you’re looking for a meal that Is that bit better than anywhere else in tayside (not just Perth) Thanks to all of the staff who go above and beyond to in order to leave every customer going home happy. Tried this place for breakfast in an effort to support more local businesses and were blown away by the food. Hubbie had a full Scottish and I had the pancakes and both were quality. The pancakes were lovely and fluffy. It's clearly a small operation with limited staff, so we were very impressed. The decor and lighting is well thought out too. Highly recommend!

Went for lunch with my granddaughter we both got toasties which were lovely.Good value for money.would go back to try out other options on menu.

We visited this cafe again whilst shopping in Perth. Barbara is such a lovely person and her home made cakes are well worth the visit alone. Nice location and parking opposite the cafe in a car park.

A very cute cafe with a good selection of foods and drink. Pleasant staff and decor and clean. Not busy while we visited, but a nice experience .

Visited this afternoon! Ordered soup and soup/sandwich combo then we waited! Drinks order delivered then we waited and waited and waited!! Other food came out of kitchen for orders placed after ours and still we waited patiently, however, when we saw the waitress sit down with her soup and sandwich we thought it was time to leave. Money refunded but unhelpful comments from young staff makes me think they need some customer service training! Can’t comment on the food as we never saw any of it! As frequent visitors to Perth would not recommend to anyone!

Myself and my partner ordered two coffees and two scones When the scones arrived they were so dry we couldn't butter them they disintegrated on the plate and fell to bits when we lifted them up. I bit into mine and it was like vanilla flavoured sawdust, very disappointed

Avoid if you are a vegetarian or vegan. Who puts chicken stock in Vegetable soup or Carrot and Ginger soup???? You order and pay at the counter and when I asked about the stock used in the soup the cook/owner abruptly pointed out its chicken stock. Not much else on the menu for me so me and my friend left and went somewhere else that was far better.

My wife and I popped in for a tea/coffee and when we saw the lovely home baking on display, we decided to have a fruit scone with jam each. The scones were lovely - one of the best I have ever tasted. I would suggest that jam portions could be a bit larger, as could the Americano coffee, but that wouldn't stop me going back to sample the scones again next time I am in Perth.

Definitely wouldn’t recommend. Waited 40 minutes on a not busy Saturday morning for a bacon roll and avocado and egg on toast - finally arrived as our parking was about to expire, wasn’t what we ordered and not even worth the wait. Customer service lacking massively

Barbara and staff are so friendly and welcoming. The cakes are lovely and coffee is really nice to. Spacious inside and a good ambiance.
