The Taybank in Perth & Kinross

The Taybank is a very nice bar and is music oriented. There is a good selection of beers & cider and the food menu is also very good. There is a local music evening every Thursday and it is definitely worth attending this, but get seats early as it is very busy. The toilets are very clean and the staff are very attentive. A nice place to go for a drink

My husband and I had dinner here recently and it was fabulous. The food and cocktails were delicious and the atmosphere quite lovely. We had a table overlooking the river and the nightsky was magical. We also ordered dessert to go which was also quite yummy. Our server was super funny and friendly and my husband so enjoyed chatting with her. Definitely two thumbs from these two Americans.

Go for a beer and the view, not for the food. Although the pizzas looked delicious, we wouldn’t know. After almost an hour of everyone being served but us, we inquired about the status of our order. First, they couldn’t find it and asked to see our receipts. We would have gladly shown them but THEY DON’T GIVE RECEIPTS! Then they found part of our order and realized they messed up. We were on a schedule, so the only thing we could do is ask for a refund, which they reluctantly gave us. TERRIBLE service!

We ate in the restaurant one night and the outdoor bar (pizza) the other night. Both were great. Dog friendly, helpful and professional staff, super tasty food with a focus on locally grown/sourced ingredients. We also enjoyed music one evening - we’ll be back!

Great beer garden. Really chilled experience, lots of seating, incredible view over the river, whole family welcome, very relaxed, lovely food, music - really great way to spend time. Thoroughly recommend.

I recently visited the TayBank both for lunch and dinner. They provided beautiful local produce which we enjoyed in their beer garden for lunch and then their upstairs dining room for dinner. The menu was great with lots of variation, the wines were delicious and the service great. The background music was really enjoyable and was delighted for the waitress to let us know they’re available on Spotify! Excellent

The restaurant is not really for young kids, children’s menu 2 basic options which you have to ask for (not on menu). Food was ok, the beef rib was horrendous, 80-90% fat. Probably best to have the pizza available in the beer garden and avoid the restaurant.

We booked a table for 6 to celebrate our ruby wedding. We were seated on time but were still waiting 25 minutes later for someone to take our order.I approached the bar and asked if we could order some drinks. A fairly disinterested young man asked me to return to my seat and he would be with us in a minute to take our order. 10 minutes later, we were still waiting. I returned to the bar to ask again. This time the same chap said "you can see we're busy tonight, somebody will be with you soon. There was no apology for the wait, which was by now 35 minutes since arriving. Eventually a young girl came to take the order. We ordered our drinks,and food, some olives and bread to share whilst awaiting our starters. 5 minutes later one bowl of olives arrived with 4 cocktail sticks. No side plates, don't really know how we were meant to share this between 6 of us. As for the bread, it didn't appear at all. When the starters arrived, the food was good quality. Unfortunately the same can't be said for the mains My venison was dry and really tasteless. We also ordered 2 sides of potatoes which did not arrive at the same time as the mains. When they did appear, there was no serving spoon and we had to use the cocktail sticks to share them out. No doubt the restaurant management will say I should have asked for cutlery, plates etc,etc. But to be honest by that time I just wanted to get the meal over and done with.I had already had to ask twice for our orders, and had to ask for water for the table. I feel there was no attention to detail This was meant to be a special occasion for us, and we did have a good night thanks to the company but no thanks to the restaurant. When I complained, they removed some drinks from the bill but I would far rather have had welcoming attentive Scottish hospitality . Overall, a very disappointing experience.

Great food and restaurant but spoiled by one member of staff on the door! We ate at The Taybank this evening and all but one staff member were wonderful particularly with our dog and the kids. However, when we approached this evening to ask if there was a table available for dinner the staff member asked had we booked and when we answered no he said “sorry we are fully booked”. The restaurant looked pretty empty. I then went online and was able to easily book a table. Said staff member was then sheepish when we said we’d managed to book. Not quite sure what his agenda was. Just left a sour taste for this lovely little village and pub. I would never say this but genuinely feel this man should not be employed here.

Beautiful dinner here. We loved the restaurant and the staff were great. My partner had the mussels for a starter and loved them! Main courses were amazing. We hope that we can visit again, it was really special.

Ate here for lunch on a sunny Saturday so chose to sit outside. The main menu was quite odd and very pricey, trying too hard to be super swanky I think. We chose to eat in the garden area instead which offers some pizzas. Not a huge selection and overpriced in my view. Nothing special but nice to be by water.

Amazing food, just perfect. Good size portions and everything was just the highest quality. Loved the setting and decor and the staff were very friendly. Our dog was welcome inside. Would highly recommend.

Went for a massive bike ride was starving thought it looked nice. Got a soggy pizza and a coffee and hot damn Sainsbury's hot food counter would of been a viable alternative but this was three times the price. Had to put pepper on the pizza so it tasted like something apart from the back end of a nightclub toilet floor. At the moment I could of ate a scabby horse but after that I thought I would of prefered it. In summary, restaurants awful decent for a pint though.

Stumbled across this while looking for somewhere to have a few drinks outside, following covid rules. QR codes on entry, all checked, benches distanced, outside under tents and in the open, plenty of choice. The views from the bank were fantastic.As for food, staff were able to accommodate gluten-free pizza base, and had a vegan option on the menu - really helpful for food intolerances!We enjoyed ourselves so much went back a second night, and while a little busier, still was great, and didn't disappoint.Also, they allow dogs outside at the tables, really handy for when we come back with ours.

They look as if they have this whole COVID thing under control, but the don’t. There are QR track and trace signs up but no one checking that people are doing it. There seems to be no one ensuring social distancing is taking place. Initially there were people sitting at two adjoining picnic tables but before long they were all around the one table. There was definitely more than two households. At 4pm there were drunks, and one in particular who fell over some bins. The food is expensive and not much of it. Think of overpriced festival food and you’ve got it. £16 for a minuscule venison burger on a roll with some chips.

When we visited the hotel for a drink there were new restrictions in place. So we had to sit outside, they have a lovely tented area with lights and heaters. Due to the shape of the tent you cannot see the water when sitting there and it’s slightly dark in areas. There is two different ordering points one for food and one for drinks. Staff were lovely and helpful.

Often drive through Dunkeld and decided to stop off for lunch today. Sooooo glad we picked Taybank, food was incredible. Service was spot on, everything was clean, no complaints at all. We didn't feel rushed which was potentially due to it nearing the end of afternoon service but definately a bonus for us as we much prefer a little breather between courses. Manager really pleasant too and will look forward to the pottery shed taking place so we can try it out. Would potentially say a slight lack on vegetarian options on menu but had I not found what I wanted i feel as though they would have accommodated. Definately worth a visit and we will be back.

Nice ideas on the menu but the execution was poor, food was bland lacking seasoning and cold, with the plate being the warmest thing. Disappointed we won’t be back.

Absolutely amazing food in a beautiful setting! We are so glad we found The Taybank as the food was stunning and the hotel itself is lovely, we will definitely be back. What also set this restaurant apart was the London cab taxi service (that’s currently being trialled) and it was a great addition to the whole experience. My parents are coming down and we’ve recommended it, in fact we can’t recommend it highly enough! Thank you The Taybank!!

A family gathering- social distancing of course. Food was surprisingly good - the Ox’s cheek was very good. The best bit about this pub is the garden on the banks of the River Tay. Drinks after were an absolute delight. No problem at all with the dogs inside the pub (biscuits offered) and lots of room in the garden too.

We have been trying to visit The Taybank in Dunkeld every couple of weeks. Very impressed with the work that has been done to create a safe setting o enjoy a drink, non alcoholic beer in our case, and good food. This experience went to a different level today as we decided to take one of our sons of a light lunch. The sun was shining and we found a lovely table on the upper terrace. The menu looked great. We ordered 3 mains, Pork Belly x 2 and the Vegan Pearl Barley risotto, The latter not because one of us is Vegan, it just sounded delicious. We followed up by sharing two lovely deserts. The food was prepared to perfection and served by very friendly staff. Water was brought to our dog. Back to the food every mouthful of both the mains and the pudding was a taste sensation, the combinations of foods were excellent and the individual ingredients could be tasted. We three agreed that this is one of the most delicious food experiences we've had for some time. Given the quality of the food we felt the prices were good and there are cheaper options on the menu if you just want a nibble with your drinks. We asked about the Chef and think we were told his name is Michael. Thank you Michael our lunch was outstanding and we fully appreciate you skills. Just Wow!
