Visité aquí esta noche - se reunió con un servidor grosero, masa de pescado que parecía que había sido cocinado en aceite sucio y patatas fritas mal cocidas. No es necesario ser grosero con los lugareños que apoyan a las empresas locales. No volveré. Basura.

Loved this chippie as globetrotter and used it regularly. We were very disappointed with the food we purchased from here tonight. Waited around 40 minutes for our food, so not worth the wait.

I'm an exiled Scot who'd just got off the plane after 4 years away, and I was determined to find my salt 'n' sauce fix at any cost. I didn't have to walk far from my hotel in Bruntsfield, and I was delighted to find this very friendly wee chippy which served something more akin to a large fish supper than the regular I'd ordered. Sure- a bit pricey, but sadly most chippies are these days, and I couldn't fault the value for money, since I was too stuffed to finish my meal. Keep up the good work and thank you for leaving me with a happy memory of home.

This place is now called Saltwater. It is tastefully decorated and has a little bar type table you can sit at the window on high stools and eat your food. My second time I have been here and not at all disappointed. The food is cooked freshly, so you are not getting fish that has been sitting in the hot hold and the batter becomes like dried out gristle. The food is not greasy either. It is tasty and hot and great chips. I love the sauce, it has the right amount of sharpness for me. The staff are nice and there was a constant stream of people coming in. It's worth the slight wait for freshly prepared and fried fish.

Decent fish and chips. Pricey, but what Chippy isn’t these days. Small battered haddock and chips filled a hole. Lovely service, friendly.

When this was the globetrotter it was average , small portions and fish that’s been on a diet it’s that thin, now your paying extra for their upgrades and new name , even more expensive 2 suppers £18-20 and was never a haddock, might have swam near one in the sea at Some point. If you want bland food , expensive prices , thin piece of fish , this is Edinburghs number 1 place to visit.

Terrible chippy Sausage supper was shocking, cheap sausages with no batter ( minimal) Deep fried pizza worst I’ve ever had, stuck together didn’t help the matter, the old guy behind counters attitude to the customers to was like u listen to me. Chips were ok but the quality of food is utter crap, will tell people to avoid, hope this help, just living of the local schools these guys, to be fair there baked pizza is ace but all round 1 item out of 20 isn’t very good, u can see in the hot plate the food looks poor and poorly made

The best fish I have ever had, fresh, tasty and crisp. Good condiments and friendly and helpful staff, really a one in a million chippy and the highlight of a tour of them! Criticism is a minor detail but the chips were perhaps not quite as crisp and delicious as the fish. Great job guys, thanks

The fish, haddock, is fresh and beautifully battered! One regular-sized piece is enough for both my husband and me as is the amount of fries that accompany it. Strictly take away, but the service is friendly and personable. Only improvement I could recommend is to offer homemade tartar sauce. I'd pay a bit more for a higher quality sauce than the pre-packaged one that is offered.

We were a pair of tired, hungry and cold visitors, having trudged through snow all day and we were looking for decent fish and chips. I'd read consistently good reviews about the place, so we gave it a try and we're so glad we did! We both ordered fish, chips and mushy peas and "ate in." The service was quick- even though they said it would be a bit of a wait- and our food didn't disappoint! It was piping hot, fresh and DELICIOUS! The fish was huge, with plenty of chunky chips. To be fair, I should probably have ordered a child size portion, because I couldn't finish it. we'll definitely be back on our next visit to Edinburgh. Faultless!

Pop in here for a fish supper when me and my husband feel like sharing one. On this occasion Very impersonal service, no warm welcome Waited a long time to be served whilst waiting on chips pad £6.70? I think for a fish supper , and I must say whilst looking in their grill before being served there fish looked enormous. After waiting ages was served my supper asked if I wanted salt and sauce and looked down to see what looked like a very small fish being served to me ( certainly not one that was in the fryer before I was served) although no one else had gotten served. Can only assume this fish was just put in the fryer to be served whilst I was waiting. Got to the car and opened the supper to share the supper with my husband which we normally do as it fills us both! the size of the fish was very very disappointing and the fish inside the batter was all white gungy stuff and watery I should have taken it back to complain but decided we were parked on double yellow lines and the chip shop was queued out the door and I was not keen to make a scene and embarrass myself We only ate the chips and drove down to our favourite chip shop on leith walk "the tailend" and enjoyed a lovely generous sized fish at a resonable price. We won't be back to the globetrotter after this visit as we feel that there is no consistency in the quality of food being served. And the service is not friendly and welcoming like other places we visit. Feels like a conveyer belt of customers passing through with no charm to the place.

We came out the cinema after well after 11pm and I wasn't sure we'd be able to get anywhere open to eat. Happened upon Globetrotter and was very pleasantly surprised. Asked for fish supper and - despite the late hour - I was asked if I wanted to wait for fresh, which would take five or six minutes. I thought it was really nice to be offered so close to closing time but since they had haggis ready I took a haggis supper instead. Even with a small bottle of Irn Bru it was still under a fiver. It was piping hot, really good quality, the chips were perfect and the portions were generous. When I got home my Dad was able to polish off my chips because I was given too much! Add to this the friendly, warm, smiling service. I'll definitely be back - a firm family favourite now. Thank you, Globetrotter!

There was a reason I'd never been here even though its on my doorstep! As soon as I walked in I could see the haggis was dried up and at least a few days old, but that's what I wanted and ordered but had to wait 7 mins on new chips, potentially fresh fried but no, these were refried from the previous day or days! £4.80 for a refried haggis supper isn't good value. This place should be shut down.

I've tried the burgers, chicken, and fish - the chicken is supersized and yummy, but you may have to wait 5 minutes as they cook it fresh - worth it! The burgers aren't anything to write home about, but they are large and freshly made, not sitting around. The fish is always large, fresh, light, crispy, and not too greasy. It's the chips that will have you coming back again and again. They're gorgeous. There are only a few bar-style seats, so it's definitely a "takeaway", but if the weather's nice, walk a few hundred yards down the road, plonk yourself down on the grass or at one of the tables in the Meadows and enjoy. This place is typically slammed at lunchtime with the school crowd, and are closed mid-afternoon until teatime, but well worth stopping in. My other half and I could easily share one order of fish and chips for a light lunch, as the portion sizes are really generous. The service is friendly and quick, and the place is spotless, which is rare in this type of business. Great little place, and they're open late!

I knew this would be better than the weak Morningside competition when each time I passed the joint on my bike I saw a healthy mix of white and brown patrons chowing down and looking happy. When I finally got a chance to try it I was blown away by the sweetness of the staff. I tested the food against my previous fish-and-chips experience, Comiston Fry, by biking 2 miles with the goods to my home - just to give Comiston a fighting chance since their cold glutinous fare had arrived via delivery van. No contest.

Frequent the Globetrotter on a regular basis and after trying other Edinburgh chip shops ( read other reviews ) reckon this is the best fish supper in Edinburgh , Scotland , possibly the world !! Big portions of 'real ' fish not some cheap alternative , served in a small cardboard box ( no chips sticking to the wrapper !! ) . The shop is family run and is always busy , always a good sign ! Really worth a visit for anyone who loves a decent fish supper with 'salt an sauce ! ' . Only downside , and not the Globetrotters fault, is the massively keen traffic wardens that frequent Bruntsfield place until 6pm !!

Personale gentile e premuroso.

Pretty standard fair for a Costa but the queues inside can take a while to get moving. If you're short of time, make sure to go through the drive thru instead as that moves at double the speed of inside

We wondered around many other places and decided for this places because of the initial kindness of the waitress when we where passing by and had a question. Went back for lunch and had a great lentil soup, salmon with salad and green juice. We decided to go back the next day, as we wanted something different from the regular pizza, hamburgers and such offered around. It did not disappoint, great place, very small and wonderful views of the castle

This was my first time here, and It was very good! My only complaints were that the drinks came a while before the food & that the small breakfast egg was quite greasy. The food tasted great though & the presentation was lovely. The tables were cleared efficiently as customers left & it was overall a rather peaceful atmosphere. Would recommend.
