I cannot recommend this place enough, it is spotlessly clean. Served by excellent staff and the food is delicious, presented well and reasonably priced. The general ambiance was relaxed and although I’m not keen on tv screens, they weren’t over bearing. I would definitely revisit as they allowed our pooches in. If their bedrooms are as clean and as good as their food is - it would be a great place to stay!

We were lucky to arrive before the coaches did so more or less had the place to ourselves. Very good value for money. A single cheese melt in the high street would set you back £12, without a coffee. We went for the tea for two at the wool mill for £18. There was enough to feed 4 and the same with the coffee we chose. The staff are all kind and down to Earth. They provided us with a box that we could take the excess cakes we couldn't eat. It was the Christmas tea for two which included the turkey, stuffing and cranberry sandwiches. Too much cranberry for me so made the sandwiches a bit too much like jam sandwiches for me. This aside, I would recommend and will return. Was all good and well worth the money. Home made mince pies and scones were very good.

Went for a birthday dinner and my meal was awful. The rest of the meals were fine. However the prawn cocktail I do not recommend. The person next to me ordered this and it looked lovely. So I decided to order this with a side portion of fries. What I recieved was a disgrace!. It looked nothing like the one the person at the other table had. They had a large quantity of prawn cocktail in a beautiful red large bowl presented well. Mines was a very poor portion in a tiny soup bowl! Lucky if I had 4 leafs of lettuce with what looked like scrambled egg, as the prawns were so small. I will not be going back as I have emailed them twice in regards to this and not had Any reply. I did complain at the time also.

I just hope it was a bad day. About two in the afternoon and the café fairly busy. Most tables covered last person's food although self-service trays hinted that people could clear away their own staff. Seem to be plenty of staff but going around in a daze. Not a long queue but it still took 20 minutes to order a sandwich and bit of quiche and another 10 minutes for it to come. Quiche okay but sandwich, ham and cheese, very poor quality. Very disappointing. Someone needs to get a grip. Such a pity when the botanic gardens are so magnificent and beautifully.
