We were here to do the archery and air rifles, and the the clay shooting. What a fun morning. We were put in a group of 6 the instructors were both excellent. The gentleman on the clays and the young man on the arrows and air rifles. We had a tea and a cake before driving home. Excellent morning.

Had a fantastic afternoon at Cluny Activities in November. I was there celebrating a birthday with my family and the staff were fantastic a big call out to Sarah and Ronan. for all their knowledge and enthusiasm. We started with archery and moved on to shooting clays. It was a great day all around. I will be back :)

Stopped on route for a quick and light refreshment break at this delightful location off the A92 where there is a large car parking area. Level ground makes this easily managed by anyone with a mobility impairment and the loud gunshots added to the ambience of the site. Although it was lunchtime, the dining area was empty and may be due to very limited food availability, as we had to share the last rolls between us. It was made slightly worse by the staff forgetting to provide a drink for one of our party. The general area was very clean and well laid out with the toilets again of a similar high standard. Would be worth a second visit only if the food was available.

Visited with husband and father in law. Waited over 20 minutes for food. I ordered a cashew, sesame and halloumi salad. It had no cashews in it. I complained to the server but no one came back to me. I finished my salad which was nice but missing the cashews. When the waitress was clearing the table I mentioned the missing cashews. She apologised and refunded for the salad. Nice place and staff but pity about speed of service, incorrect order and nothing being done when I complained.

Full breakfast was ok but one of my pet hates , potato scone that has not been fried is far to dry ,the mushrooms were very dry my guess is they were done in the microwave and tough toast !. Had been before, with only mixed views about the lunch. Clunys have been making a real effort to put on good lunches and it shows. My friend and I had the gammon steaks and they were nicely cooked and well presented. The staff are always friendly and helpful. Other customers looked equally pleased with their meals. We had the '2 mains for £15' deal - so it was a reasonable price too. Shall be back to use this after undertaking one of Cluny's activities.

Thought we would try this out before inviting friends, the café is bright and airy. We had tea, coffee, slice of lemon drizzle and a chocolate cereal bar; while the drinks were good the lemon drizzle was on the dry side and tiny; about a third of the size one would normally get in a café; the chocolate cereal bar was extremely syrupy; we felt at over £7.00 it was far too expensive [spoken with a few folks since our visit and they too felt prices were on the high side} also the radio was on at such a high volume it made conversation distracting.

Stopped in for breakfast on a weekday morning a couple of times recently. Was very pleasantly surprised with the quality. Nice-sized plateful - a bit of everything you could want, with a delicious quality black pudding, haggis, sausages and bacon. Even my wife who wouldn't normally touch offal-based products tried the haggis/black pud and commended it. The items seemed freshly or very recently-cooked rather than hot-held dried shrivelled produce like some places. Service was pleasant and friendly, and quick too. Enjoyed sitting near the fire, whiling away an hour and left feeling sated. Decent value for money, although the hot filled rolls are a tad pricey at nearly £3 for a bacon roll etc. Have also been with the kids for a bit of whacking golf balls and play area time, but think that as is typical of things aimed at drawing in parents with kids, and feeding/watering them, it can be a little pricey and not quite as good value for money. Hence the 4 stars.

If you are looking for some tasty traditional pub food then look no further! This wee place next to the reception at Cluny Clays is perfect for a hearty meal after outdoor activities whether shooting or defeats. We were very pleased with our meal that we had last weekend. Plenty of the pub classics to choose from and at pretty reasonable prices. Lovely open fire as well which was perfect for a cold January afternoon. Only downside is it's quite small and is very popular so gets rather busy. It looks as if they are extending it through the back though so that is something to look forward when we return.

Good place to go if you have a family that needs to enjoy the amenities offered. The menus are good and table service is a boon. We chose to hold a lunch for family and friends following our son's Christening in the function room at Cluny Country Kitchen recently. We were at the Cluny Kitchen a few weeks ago having lunch after trying out the Segways they have. You got an hour on the Segway with some useful training beforehand. They run through the safety issues first, give you a safety helmet and give you a few exercises to make sure you are competent before taking you out and about on Cluny Clays. What fun we had. They are quite fast and go on any terrain so we were in woods, round the golf course, up hill and down again. My advice would be to take gloves on colder days as you are going quite fast and your hands get cold. We then had a lovely lunch with friends in the Bistro. I can recommend the chicken casserole, the macaroni cheese and the beer battered haddock which is what people were having and enjoying. A very nice way to spend a Sunday. They seem to be a very well organised company.

Other reviewers seem to be confusing what is being reviewed here so for avoidance of doubt....Cluny Clays is a great overall venue for a day out. I've been in the past for a corporate event and the event staff were great and the facilities good. The Cluny Kids play areas are great for the kids. Possibly not the best facilities i've taken the kids to but very good and probably the best overall value for money. Would definitely recommend it for parents of pre-teen kids and will definitely take my kids there again - they had a fantastic time. I'd give 4+ stars for that easily. The 'Country Kitchen' however, which is what is listed here, is pretty average by my reckoning. The food was actually pretty good to be fair, certainly seemed good quality and well made. However the choice is quite limited, the pricing (for kids anyway) a little on the high side but it was the somewhat sluggish and disinterested service that disappointed the most.It was by no means awful and i can imagine quite good for adults/older children but i'll definitely take a picnic the next time i visit with my younger kids.

Just the mention of this restaurant makes me sad at the memories that we have of it. We visited for my Dads 70th birthday meal. There were 16 of us. The meal was fine - food okay. Waitresses did not count the orders she had against the people at the table and one member of the party didnt get a meal at the same time as the waitress had not taken the order correctly. We had several children there, it was a lovely June late afternoon/evening meal and they told us within minutes of the kids going to play in the adventure area while waiting for meal that they couldn't - it was closed - outrageous!! As they served the main meal they told us that they were closing soon!!! We felt very rushed, no time for desserts never mind coffee to go with the special 70th cake we had brought. Ended up paying the bill and leaving. Will not be back and would not recommend which is a real shame as its local for us and has potential to be a lovely place - just bad management and organsation letting it down.

Great location on the Old Course. Beautiful modern terrace on the top floor with stunning views across the fairways to the sea. So wanted to like this place but were disappointed. Food was standard golfing fare - steaks and lobster - OK but nothing special . Wine list reasonable for price and choice. What lets the place down is the lack of management oversight. Tables with broken legs, jet lagged golfers asleep in the lobby, incredibly noisy ambience all overseen by a well meaning but overwhelmed serving staff. Not what you expect when paying $400 for a meal for two. Dinner took three and a half hours. We had to track down staff to order wine, coffee and get the check. Could be a good dining alternative to the Old Course Hotel but its let down badly by the service. Seems its owned by one of those absentee investment companies and it shows .

Had afternoon Tea today(Sunday). The view is stunning, overlooking the golf course and the Forth. We had to wait around 10 minutes and received 4 types of sandwiches, a plain scone and fruit scone and a variety of cakes. The scones were some of the best I’ve ever had- warm from the oven, the cakes were light. We received a bottle of water and large pot of tea but had to ask for glasses. The toilets were a bit more dated than the restaurant but clean

Went for steak night but extremely disappointed. Asked for medium steak but was more rare.Few soggy chips, hard peas and two underdone soggy onion rings. No salad as advertsed. Food was also cold. Asked for a prosecco and was told had no cold ones . Was given small one off top shelf behind bar but when I opened it it was completely flat and very yellow so I think it must have been on the shelf a long while! Lady opened big bottle which again came from top shelf so was not cold but was bubbly. Can't believe there was no bottles in wine fridge. Sticky toffee pudding was good though. Seeing as there was just one other couple in the restaurant there really was no excuse for steak meal being so poor as kitchen not rushed. Won't be rushing back!!!

Arranged to meet friends here for a lunch and a catch up. This is a very popular visit with very pleasant surroundings through a very large conservatory contributing to a very well lit area. There are a number of tables within the conservatory and your extensive menu is on the table. There are hot and cold food choices ordered at the server and brought to your table. We opted for chicken and rice soup and tomato and vegetable soup. To accompany the soup we ordered cheese and onion toasties and cheese and ham. We had carrot cake put aside for later that was the last of it. The chicken soup had a distinct homemade stock flavour with generous amounts of chicken through the rice and veg. The toasties came with crisps and side salad and coleslaw on the side. They were very well cooked with a generous filling. Finally the piece de resistance the home baking carrot cake came bursting with flavour very moist and topped with a very sweet icing. Would not hesitate to recommend to anyone and will definitely be back.
