Great friendly restaurant, excellent choices on the menu, with the added bonus of the special on the blackboard, good portion sizes, great tasting food, and the puddings, rice pudding and jam all I can say is wow, 10 out of 10, highly recommend.

Best roast I’ve had out for a long time! It was very tasty, beef was rare and very decent portions. Puddings were home made and also fantastic! We came for a family birthday and the staff were so helpful, friendly and accommodating - I would definitely recommend.

Been meaning to write to say huge thank you - a fantastic evening - 115 for a BBQ and the food was outstanding. Delicious burgers and salads - and out of this world brownie. Whole team couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. It made the evening a great success and everyone was commenting on how good the food was - for a large number of people it was very impressive. Thank you.

We have just returned from a fabulous stay at The Elm. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel most welcome by the fantastic staff. The bar/restaurant is absolutely gorgeous - very well designed, lovely decor and immaculately clean and tidy. The bar was very well stocked and the bar staff were beyond helpful. When we checked in to our room we were delighted with it. Very well decorated, spacious and with a superb en-suite. We had a lovely coffee machine in our room with plenty of pods and a mini fridge stocked with milk and water. We stayed for two nights and had breakfast and dinner on both nights too. The full English was delicious! Nothing was too much trouble and it was lovely to have the chef come to your table and serve the wonderful food he cooked. The evening meals were also delicious and cannot be faulted. Special recognition should go to the fantastic bar staff that couldn’t do more for us to make our stay a complete joy. Nothing was too much trouble for them. I would thoroughly recommend The Elm for a stay - the building is absolutely stunning and it is set in a picture perfect area. Thank you to all who worked over the weekend, you are a credit to your employer!

My wife and I have been here a few times, and it’s never disappointed. Our first Sunday roast here and it was all at its normal high standard! We had the lamb, while my wife had cheesecake to my crumble. The lamb was cooked beautifully and was tender; as I couldn’t have the Yorkshire puddings I got extra potatoes, they were lovely and crunchy. The crumble was really tasty and the ice cream a great counter to hot fruit. Our only slight disappointment was no cider on tap, but my wife managed to get a fruit flavoured bottled cider.

This place is famous for its views across the Solent, but only in the summer. In the winter the windows are always steamed up giving you near to no visibility outside. We didn’t eat but the menu looks good and average prices for the area. Drinks were more expensive than the Seaview Hotel just around the corner. +£1 per drink on gin & tonic. It was November on a Friday evening and all tables were reserved. We did sit at one of their best tables for our drink ‘Captain Ted’s Table’ and it was wobbly as hell. Felt like it was going to give way at any time. Come on this is an easy fix.
