Mill Race Teashop

Addlebrough, Richmondshire
04/01/2019: We arrived to find a small queue for a table which we joined as knew it was worth the wait. We soon got seated and ordered food which was delivered promptly. The food as ever was outstanding. Perfect toasties and awesome scones. The cakes made a fantastic supper as we had to be boxed up due to being too full! No visit to Aysgarth Falls is complete without a visit to Mill Race.
01/01/2019: An absolute must on a visit to Aysgarth Falls. Situated down hill right opposite the falls. Better to walk as no parking. Cosy inside, (so may have a little wait to be seated) Fantastic afternoon tea, milkshakes, cake, and great selection of sandwiches and toasties. Dog friendly too! Highly recommended!

The Lighthouse Tea Room

Filey, Scarborough
09/11/2018: This is a small quirky cafe decorated in a lighthouse theme lovely and clean and friendly staff . The food served here is amazing the portions are plentiful and are beautifully presented. My favorite is the lighthouse rarebit my friend hat a roast chicken sandwich which was packed with chicken and a side salad and crisps . We have visited this cafe for the past seven or eight years . 05/11/2018: What a lovely café, best bacon baguette we've ever tasted really good quality bacon and warm baguette. Very pleasent waitress and the whole place looked spotlessly clean. We visited a couple of years ago and didn't hesitate to call again today.

The Singing Kettle

Whitby West Cliff, Scarborough
15/12/2018: Four of us with a large dog were warmly welcomed on a chilly windy morning.
11/12/2018: When we go to Whitby I always go in early for coffee as it is open very early in the morning I have never had a Breskfast there but it is always busy with them and they look Excellent it is a family run cafe and always busy and A very friendly place to eat

Leyburn, Richmondshire, 20-30£
23/12/2018: 9 of us met for a pre Christmas evening meal. Food, service and wine excellent. We are so lucky to have this little gem of family run restaurant in Leyburn. Not stuffy or pretentious, relaxed, warm, cosy and very friendly. I ate the risotto starter and halibut for main course and both were cooked to perfection by Michael (owner chef). Served by Sarah, Michaels wife. To full to try pudding but some of our party did and all thoroughly enjoyed them and the cheese board looked amazing. Thank you Michael & Sarah
02/12/2018: Visited here on a Saturday for lunch. Not a particularly a warm place inside on a cold day. Maybe it is different on an evening. Yes it was quiet in the restaurant but there was little atmosphere. I am surprised I didn't enjoy it more based on such positive reviews. I will point out that based on first impressions, this place is in need of a refresh. The interior is dated with a fireplace I remembered as a child from the 90s. Invest in axing the artex with some plastered walls and a fresh lick of paint and it would transform the place. I just didn't get much ambience, sorry. The food is tasty yes, but unfortunately it was not hot, just warm. The dessert I had was nice, but again the Sticky toffee pudding was only just warm. Service was good cannot fault that at all. I feel that the prices are not quite in line with the whole package put together in this restaurant. Give yourselves a bit of a makeover and it would do the world of good.

Duncans Tearoom

Richmond West, Richmondshire, >100£
14/12/2018: Our first time at Duncan's tea room, what a nice experience, this hidden jet, is much more than any tea room. Small in size, but large in exceptional service, atmosphere, and food quality at a reasonable price .
11/12/2018: We visited Duncans after reading the reviews on tripadvisor to get a coffee on a chilly day. After perusing the menu I decided to have Broccoli and stilton soup with a ham sandwich followed by Sticky toffee pudding with custard and ice cream and a nice Decaf late. My wife had a mushroom tartiflette followed by a mincemeat Bakewell tart. It was all delicious and served by very attentive friendly staff.

The Park Restaurant

Clifton, York, 45-60£
16/12/2018: My wife and I enjoyed a birthday meal with the 7 course tasting menu.
No estarás decepcionado.

The Sitting Pig

Guildhall, York, >100£
16/12/2018: Love trying new establishments and read about this little find and despite the horrendous weather it was so worth it
15/12/2018: Visited the Corner Grill House to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The food was fantastic, the service excellent and the atmosphere was superb. We had an absolutely perfect evening and will definitely be back. From stepping through the door to the moment we left we were looked after and made to feel like valued customers. (A rare experience these days.)

The Hidden Gem

Central, Sheffield, <20£
18/11/2018: After pulling up, at this place... it doesn't look much from the outside.. I was a little put off at first but go with it. The place the people and the food is really good. They didn't have everything on the menu. And wasn't told that there would be no black pudding
17/11/2018: Another visit and another wonderful experience, it doesn’t get any better than this, wonderful food, great service and also the chance they give to young adults with disabilities is fantastic.

The Retreat

Grassington, Craven, <20£
04/01/2019: Enjoyed a really nice brunch here. Staff were extremely welcoming for our young baby and couldn't do enough for her, bringing high chair and toys. The place was very clean and food very well presented and tasty. The menu is varied and has clearly marked vegan and gluten-free options. Staff were very friendly and the other customers were too so it was just a nice atmosphere. Good coffee too
01/01/2019: You will never be disappointed in here. The service is always so friendly. (We asked for the music to be turned down as we were sat next to the speaker. It was done straight away with no problems and we were checked on twice to make sure the volume was ok). Food is SO delicious. The staff and the food could not be nicer.

Willowgate Bistro

Pickering East, Ryedale, 45-60£
03/12/2018: We stayed in Pickering for a Family Birthday and the Willowgate Bistro was highly recommended to us by Ashley and Al, owners of the 17 Burgate Hotel, the food was amazing really delicious as was the service would definitely visit there again next time we are in Pickering.
26/11/2018: 16 of us including 6 children aged 4 to 11 and a very small baby as well. We pre ordered from the Christmas menu and the owners/chef were very flexible and accommodating. Things were noisy and lively but staff coped without any fuss. The wine was very good too.

Ripon Spa, Harrogate
11/12/2018: We had a dog with us when we visited but the staff were welcoming and even brought him a bowl of water without being asked! We had THE most delicious cake....Indian Summer and hot scones fresh out of the oven. Perfect.
24/11/2018: Having read the reviews, and knowing how popular these events are, we were fortunate in being able to book onto the special Indian tapas evening on Friday. Wow, this was the best Indian food we have ever tasted. Perfect spicing, every flavour separate and distinctive, and such a variety! Cannot speak too highly of the staff, excellent friendly service, and the chef was so interested in our thoughts.

Chimes Cafe

Ripon Minster, Harrogate
11/12/2018: This little cafe is well worth a visit. I am a regular visitor and have been today and had a stollen scone and a coffee with shot of spiced rum - mmmmmm!!! Gorgeous! My friend had a cheese scone and a latte and my bill was under £10. I have also lunched here and the service and the food are both excellent and good value.
29/11/2018: During a visit to Ripon we met up with friends their 'favourite cafe'. It was Chimes Cafe and we could instantly see why. Situated within yards of Ripon Cathedral in picturesque Kirkgate your initial impression is that the cafe is tiny but very homely with a wide range of cakes and pastries on offer. However walk through an arch and along a passage and you find a back room and small conservatory with the same homely charm, perfect for a leisurely coffee or tea, or even better a tasty snack, all made on the premises.

Dog and Gun Knayton

Whitestonecliffe, Hambleton
14/12/2018: This pub is an absolute Gem, the food is always amazing (eaten here numerous times in small and big groups and the food is always 1st class!) everybody is so welcoming and can't do enough for you (being a family of vegetarians we can sometimes be a bit of a pain to cater for but the Dog & Gun always make sure are needs are met). We will certainly be back!! Oh and the build a Burger is out of this world.....I've been veggie for over 25 years and never ever have I had a veggie burger like this...its making my mouth water just thinking about it!
13/12/2018: Having been recommended the dog and gun we thought we would try their Christmas menu, and were very dissapointed the food was over priced and certain from a freeer packet! Meat was dry we got a small portion of vege to shear! But the biggest sting in tale was the drink prices! A bottle of Prosecco that you can purchase from a well known supermarket for £7 they sell for £21
