My wife & myself booked afternoon teas as a means of a celebration. As usual Helen and all of her team treated us as guests rather than customers. Although it was very busy ,all staff found time to chat with us in a friendly smiling manner. Food was very good, chosen by staff to fit our tastes.We were made to feel very important by all.Once again, Thank you.

2 x light lunches with something to drink. Friendly and welcoming. An oasis of calm tucked away behind a shopping street. Will certainly visit again. This was our first visit to Hull. Had turned to Trip Advisor to find a nice place to eat.

I was bought a gift voucher for afternoon tea at jade Garden. And what an excellent experience. I had never heard of this cafe before. It is situated in the old town just off whitefriargate . On entering, we were greeted by the owner and shown to our table. The inside is quite small but very quaint. I have a lot of allergies and intolerancies, and these were coped with admirably. The food was absolutely gorgeous with plenty of it . We even needed a doggie bag at the end. It came with prosecco, but being alcohol intolerant they gladly gave us a substitute. I can't heap enough praise on this establishment. Marks out of 10 . I would give it 11. The staff were also excellent and very helpful 👏 👍

My sister and I visited Liquid Jade for a coffee and a snack because we had heard good things about it. Never again!!!!! Never in all our trips to various places for snacks/lunch have we ever waited nearly 3/4 of an hour for a crumpet and a toasted teacake! All w kept getting was an apology for the time it was taking! I could have baked my own in that time!! We didn't even get a discount when we came to pay! Just another apology, We will not be telling anyone to go there in the future...you may starve!!!!

Lovely cup of tea and scone with jam and cream! Perfect. Best to book beforehand though, they squeezed me in but turned people away after that because the tables were either occupied or reserved.

Once again, my wife and myself were delighted with the afternoon tea. The food is to suit the customers tastes, all staff are friendly and have experience of dealing with customers , smiling and chatting to them. It is like a meal with friends and relatives.

Thoroughly enjoyable stop for tea and cake at this lovely little cafe in Hull. An amazing tea menu with fabulous cakes made for a great stop whilst exploring the city with our two young children.

What a little gem this place is. Booked for afternoon tea before going to the theatre. We were not disappointed. Food and service were excellent. The choice of teas is very good. Really cannot fault this place and would highly recommend.

LJ is a delightful little restaurant in the centre of Hull that serves up great food and really superb Tea, of which there are many varieties.

Honestly what a lovely, airy and pretty little tea house! Tea selection is incredible, I had the royal blend which is highly recommend if you’re into a deep black tea. Coffee is also spot on, I had the pitta pocket for lunch and honestly every bit was fantastic, good value at just £6-7+ for a lunch item! Will definitely be returning, staff were very friendly and accommodating

First time visit for elevenses. Marvellous snackery, great selection of teas. I had the Earl Grey: fragrant, vanilla-y, in a nice pot with proper china, and a 5-minute timer for full infusion and flavour. Butter and jam for my teacake also in pots, not plastic tubs. <applause>. One of the crew cleaned chair legs thoroughly meanwhile. Unheard-of cleanliness <more applause>. Friendly and welcoming to boot. A great place to meet, chat and nosh in Hull’s Old Town!

After a lovely greeting on arrival, my friend and I received top quality service, as we have had on every previous occasion. Service was speedy,efficient and very friendly and the presentation of the food was spot-on and unusually for me, I don't have to add sugar to the coffee as it's just right for me. This is an amazing little Tea Room hidden away in a sheltered corner off Whitefriargate. If you park in Zebedee's Yard, park at the right-hand side and leave through the exit at that end (passing the Fishermen's Memorial). You will immediately see Liquid Jade's outdoor tables facing you. If the tables are not out, your will see the notice boards for the inside seating area.If you are walking along Whitefriaregate, watch out for the alleyway almost opposite Parlament Street and close to The Hull People's Memorial Museum.

This place is a little off the beaten track but worth finding and visiting. They have a selection of drinks ( they are licensed too ) and the choice is magnificent. We had a home blend pot of tea which was just so so nice. The longer it was left the stronger and tastier it became too, so by the 3rd cup out of the pot it was so so good. You can buy bags of the tea to take home too. There is a wide choice. We complimented our brews with some cake. I had a piece of mint chocolate fudge cake and my other half had a coconut and raspberry jam slice. Both were very tasty and moorish. Really looking forward to returning

I have been a loyal customer to this wonderful place for over a year now and each and every time I have had the best greeting upon arrival, the quality of the food is astonishing. With lots of specialty tea to chose from there is a tea for everyone’s tastes The vibe within this place matches the quality of the produce and the service, with comfortable and insta worthy scenery. In most visits, engaging with other lovely customers which also reflect on this amazing tea room. Covid-19 precautions here are well in place with comfort in mind.

I’ve often walked past the sign for this tea room on Whitefriargate but only yesterday got chance to visit it. What a lovely find. It’s got quite a vintage feel inside with quaint decor and some lovely old fashioned touches. The pot of tea I ordered for one came with a little egg timer to allow the tea to infuse for the correct time and I must have got 4 cups of tea from my pot for one! The tea was perfect and the cakes were lovely too. There was an extensive range of teas, coffees and even wine, gin or lager if you fancy. I’ll definitely return and would recommend to anyone passing by who fancies something lovely and traditional.

Fantastic choice of teas. We had the Darjeeling and the Rooibos. Loose tea in glass tea pots and china mugs. The coconut slice and gluten free choc brownie were also enjoyable. Cosy sofa near the fire was also a good choice. Friendly staff and a good menu.

Being a bit of a coffee snob I'm quite particular about where I'm going and I found this place on here as recommended.Wow what a lovely place, a little out of the way but well worth the effort to find it. Walked in and was met with a smiling face, hey you cannot beat that as a starter, ordered coffee and it was served at our table. Beautiful latte art gave me optimism for the drink, I was not disappointed, lots of taste, perfect milk steaming and a temperature that didn't burn the sweetness out of the milk. If you are a coffee lover there is no reason to go elsewhere.

Liquid jade is a great cafe with a great selection of food and drinks. The staff are very attentive and friendly. My daughter who is 12 loves the hot chocolate from here.

Having seen the good reviews thought we would give this cafe a try.What a disappointment.We were not greeted on arrival,staff were miserable and told we could not have what we wanted as it was past 11.30 andthat they were no longer doing breakfast menu.The cafe was almost empty at the time so perhaps could have been more flexible.Did not stay.

I had a search for tea rooms on Facebook as were visiting Hull for the weekend and this place looked interesting. We went with the plan of having lemongrass and mint tea then I saw they make cappuccinos properly so couldn’t resist. We had cake the chocolate orange was like eating a giant jaffa cake with a lovely orange flavour. Staff were lovely and place was spotlessly clean. I can’t abide other people’s crumbs all over the table so good high standards.

It was my hubby who first found this place and I had no idea it existed. At the time there was a coffee and cake offer on and it was well worth the money. It was a cold day and I noticed there was an open fire which I'd love to see when we visit in winter. The next time I went was on my birthday and chose the prosecco and panini deal at £7.95 , the panini came with rocket and vine tomatoes which were delicious. The last visit 4.5.19 was an awful cold raining day and we stopped off for a drink to warm us up. I chose a teacake and it's lovely the way it's displayed . I'm a creature of habit so I chose the Chai latte again - it's devine . There's a whole menu of speciality teas and I can't wait to try each one . Great friendly staff, efficient service and I'll be using this tea room every single time.

We are frequent visitors to Hull and I have to say this is one of the best places for a light lunch. Food is excellent quality and teas and coffees top notch. Lovely relaxing atmosphere and surroundings.

We pop in here on our way to a business meeting every six months, yet we are remembered and greeted like we were friends. Love the teas, so many to choose from and wonderful relaxed surroundings. Search this place out, we love it there, Just wish it were closer to home.

Sarah and myself were out in town and visited Liquid Jade for the first time. It won’t be our last. The drinks selection is great and the service excellent. If you want a relaxing drink then you should come and try it for yourself.

I really wanted to give this place 5 stars. The welcome was warm, the decor is attractive & creative with attention to detail but unfortunately my meal did not match this. Eggs Benedict, 1 egg runny 1 very firm, plastic ham which tasted of nothing & hollandaise sauce which was equally bland & tasteless. Only the rocket garnish had any flavour so I'm sorry but I won't be rushing back
