Burr's Restaurant

Newport Central, Isle of Wight, <20£
19/06/2018: I have been here several times before and booked to go again very soon, the food always amazes me with everything from the detail to presentation to the flavours of all the food not only do the staff give you great info on food recommendations and wines (they really know their stuff) but give great professional service love this place great price highly recommend !
18/06/2018: I’ve eaten here many times now and never had a bad meal, menu is superb and staff very attentive and helpful. I have been with my grandchildren who are also catered for without a problem would highly recommend

The Tudor Room

Thorpe, Runnymede, 60-100£
22/05/2018: This was my third visit to the Tudor Room at the fabulous Great Fosters; my first for lunch. From meeting and chatting with Istvan, the charismatic Hungarian manager in the bar, through to dessert, the experience was sensational. It can only be a matter of time before a second Michelin star is added. For £34 (including £10% discount for membership), you will have the best four course lunch in Surrey in one of the most beautiful locations. You will be assisted in your choice of wine by the very best sommelier - who even remembered the wine I chose on my last visit several months earlier! My choices for lunch were canapé, scallops, pork and the cheese selection (selected by Istvan), with a fabulous glass of sharp yet not too dry Vouvray. All exceptional. Make no mistake, this is Waterside Inn style fayre in a more relaxed setting. Highly recommended!
12/05/2018: We had a brilliant time at the Tudor Room. I requested (in advance) a vegetarian meal and no goat products because of an allergy and they made special arrangements, and I had a wonderful meal. All the food was delicious, imaginative and beautifully presented.

The Fig Tree

Hurstpierpoint and Downs, Mid Sussex
18/06/2018: It's not the cheapest place to eat, it's a place for a special occasion as far as we're concerned, but the food is of the high quality, The portions are small, but very nicely presented. Most of the ingredients are sourced locally.
17/06/2018: Highly recommended. Worth the drive from Brighton. Food is at a very standard, service to match. The roast beef was one of the nicest roasts I have had out. All the trimmings and perfectly cooked. Well priced and desetves all the great reviews.

The Town House

Arundel, Arun, 20-30£
19/06/2018: My wife and I and my brother and his wife came here for a meal and stay. The meal was classy and delicious from start to finish. The room was brilliant with views over the castle a great sight to wake up to in the morning. We had the suite and my brother had the family apartment. The tea and coffee are plentiful in the room. Such a relaxing night was had. The breakfast had all the options and was also delicious a great start to the day.
16/06/2018: So my husband and I visited this restaurant last night. We were just passing, we hadn't booked. But they willingly accommodated us. What can I was fab! We were greeted by the most welcoming, bubbly waiter. Who showed us to our seats and talked us through the menu in full. The menu was refreshingly varied, with an interesting selection. As well as being clear and upfront of the prices. A set menu of two courses £27.50 or £32.50 for three. There were supplements on top of some of the dishes such as Lobster or Surf n Turf etc. But these were very reasonable, and worth every penny! The lobster was the best I have ever tasted. My husband had the Venison, and again he said cooked to perfection. There was plenty on the menu that I hope to sample in the future. The service was the best, very personable, polite and fun. And the atmosphere pitched just right. Formal, but not stuffy dining. Lovely environment. Compliments to the chef and all of the staff. Yum...yum!

Keats Cottage

Shanklin South, Isle of Wight
17/06/2018: Great hotel with very welcoming and friendly staff. Clean and comfortable room and the food was excellent too. Thanks.
09/06/2018: This was our first time here, was recommended by friends.Good food, brilliant personal service, great atmosphere.

The Corner House

Thanet Villages, Thanet
18/06/2018: First time for lunch although we have visited for dinner before. Service was excellent, welcoming, friendly and efficient on a busy day.Water bottle and bread given without asking.
18/06/2018: I visited The Corner House for lunch last week. Gorgeous food (Cauliflower Soup to start), very good service and lovely surroundings. Great value and wide choice of menus available. Would love to visit when I am back in the area.

The Elderflower Lymington

Lymington Town, New Forest
20/06/2018: Having walked past dozens of times and assumed this was a stuffy afternoon tea room, and not really my cup of tea; I was delighted to find out through a friend that The Elderflower is in fact a rather fabulous and unique restaurant, under a relatively ordinary guise.
19/06/2018: Beautiful restaurant within Lymington Harbour off the old cobbled stones. Although somewhat pricy it has excellent food and drink with a very relaxed atmosphere. Also caters for B&B; with room views across the harbour.

Regency, Brighton and Hove, 30-45£
18/06/2018: From the moment you walk into this little restaurant you will be delighted. The warm welcome adds to the overall ambience of the place and you feel really comfortable as you would going into a dear friends home. An interesting menu is proffered and no pressure or time restraint put ordering. Having placed our order and selecting a chilled wine we were then given complimentary tapas followed by warm bread rolls. Our 3 course menu choices were delicious with waiting staff being discreetly attentive. What more can l say about this amazing find. Make your reservation and give this little gem a try. You will not be disappointed.
14/06/2018: We walked up from the beach through a throng outside a pub to enter the rather plain restaurant. We were then sat at our table which had a lovely view of the bins across the road. I was thinking ‘bad choice, bad choice’ - how wrong was I !

The Greyhound Free House & Grill

Sonning Common, South Oxfordshire, 20-30£
21/06/2018: 48 years of marriage merits celebration and we chose the Greyhound to do so. Antony Worrall is the Head Chef and so you might expect high prices but we found excellence at a reasonable price instead. The pub and restaurant are interestingly quirky and on a fine evening we sat outside in the country quiet having a drink while looking at the menu.
21/06/2018: My husband and I have just had an excellent lunch at the Greyhound. The menu is so interesting, with delicious options for all tastes and preferences. The staff are wonderfully efficient and friendly, and the location... just beautiful!

Gravetye Manor Restaurant

6 offers
High Weald, Mid Sussex, 20-30£
18/06/2018: We enjoyed a perfect lunch in the beautiful brand new dining room overlooking the garden. Both the food and the service were of the highest standard. Highly recommend. A walk around the walled kitchen garden should not be missed.
17/06/2018: This was my first visit since the new dining room opened. The venue is sublime - large panes of glass displaying the glorious garden as an uninterrupted view. Just a joy to sit in the room.

64 Degrees

Regency, Brighton and Hove
19/06/2018: Having previously visited around Christmas I was looking forward to this birthday treat.
18/06/2018: What a great experience we’ve had tonight, from the service, to the food, and everything in between!

The Empire Room

Central Harbour, Thanet
21/06/2018: I was recommended this restaurant some time ago and I managed to go recently on a Sunday lunch. The staff and food were very good, we didn't have long to wait for our meal once we had placed our order. The food portions were just right.
19/06/2018: Been a while since we visited the Empire Room

Read's Restaurant

Watling, Swale
18/06/2018: What a lovely place! The food is exquisite and the waiters very knowledgeable about what wines to drink with your diner choice. The taster menu was absolutely lovely. We’ll come again thankyou
13/06/2018: Lovely courtyard for before dinner drinks some of the seating more comfortable than others. Food was a mixture of excellent and very ordinary. The bread and deserts were very good and the service mostly good. The pate starter was tasteless and served with one piece of toasted brioche. My main course was a small sliced duck breast slightly tough and once again lacked seasoning the bean cassoulet was OK. The raspberry soufflé was a triumph probably the best I’ve eaten. Overall I considered the meal overpriced at £32 compared with the quality etc at Chewton Glen . This was not our first visit to Reads but I did not feel that the food today lived up to it’s past reputation.

Shanklin South, Isle of Wight
15/06/2018: My first time at this restaurant. Came here after reading the many positive reviews. Decided to take the specials of the day: carrot and coriander soup and cod fish with pesto mashed potatoes and sides. All the food was very fresh and very tasty. The New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc by the glass amazing! The service was very professional, friendly, open and at the same time discreet. The friendly and relaxed atmosphere rounded up my visit. Highly recommendable place to dine.
10/06/2018: Visited as a solo diner on my last night in the Isle of Wight. The food was the best I had eaten during my holiday.Service was attentive but not over powering and the decor was tasteful.Although not cheap,it was very good value for money, portion size just right and both plates and food were hot.My pud was the Dark Chocolate Pot with Cherries soaked in Brandy-DIVINE.

The Home Sweet Home

Cholsey and Wallingford South, South Oxfordshire
21/06/2018: Always a warm welcome and tasty food
15/06/2018: We hadn't booked but the very helpful staff managed to find us a table even though it was very busy. Beautiful bar with a lovely feel, we went straight to the table though as we were squeezed in having not booked. The menu was really excellent and far above what you would perhaps expect from a small country pub, I have great joy in saying the menu was not all show - they food was brilliant, we loved everything and left the plates clean!
