We had wonderful Afternoon Tea at Lamingtons as a family. It was our first time and we had heard very good things, but our expectations were exceeded by far. The food was amazing: The scones were the best I have ever had, the sandwiches tasty and overall it was more than we could eat. Mark was the perfect host- from the moment we stepped into Lamingtons, he created a very warm and welcoming atmosphere. Will definitely go back with extended family. The perfect place to take your friends from abroad for a very special afternoon tea or just to treat yourselves.

This is a delightful cafe oasis in the high street! Having just finished a 5-mile country walk, we were made to feel extremely welcome the moment we entered. The space was cottage cost, the decor quaint and the feast of homemade cakes on display was positively regal. We enjoyed perfectly huge slices of sausage roll and quiche, nestled in a very fresh salad, all efficiently brought out with friendly and exemplary service from Mark. We will definitely be back soon and would recommend this experience to all our friends. Don’t drive through Bletchingley without popping in!!

Utterly charming tea shop, with a lovely warm friendly and efficient service from the owner. Lightest scone ever and a perfect flat white served on a china cup. The most impressive display of homemade cakes and everything beautifully displayed.

Took my daughter for a cream tea as it was her birthday. I would say that was the best scone I'd ever eaten, the jam was incredible too. How has this gem remained such a secret when it's been there about 15 years.

Wow, my daughter and I have just had a fantastic afternoon tea at Lamingtons including a large flute of rose non alcoholic Prosecco which was the perfect start to a rather large yummy afternoon tea experience. Mark, who I think is the owner, was charming and welcoming and on hand for any questions/requirements. The egg mayo and cress sandwiches were my favourite however the sandwich selection was varied and all very tasty and freshly made. The scones which were very light were served with jam and cream together with juicy strawberries. The array of cakes, including macarons and a dessert in a lovely little glass were all so tasty and of course the English breakfast tea was just what we needed after the Prosecco. Well worth another visit, however I think Mark would appreciate it if you sent him a message via Messanger to book, particularly if you have any dietary requirements!

I’ve been to Lamingtons a few times now, The afternoon tea never disappoints. I’ve had many afternoon teas, mainly in London, and I have to say, Lamingtons is one of the best I’ve had. The cakes & sandwiches are so fresh and all home made. Plenty of sandwiches & cakes. Mark took great care of us and is always smiling. Booking a table is recommended as it’s a popular tea room and can get busy, although walks in are welcomed. A deposit is required for the tea, which is perfectly acceptable and is reasonably priced. Today, I took my friend for the first time for a birthday treat. We had a glass of non alcoholic prosecco which is optional with the afternoon tea. It also adds a special touch. We will definitely visit ago soon.

We needed an emergency pitstop on the way back from the South Coast and this is a great late lunch / afternoon tea place. Service was delightful, friendly and helpful, from a hearing-impaired man. Stopped into this lovely tea room for coffee to take away after running an errand in the area. Such a gem! I had a delicious decaf latté expertly prepared by the friendly person behind the counter and a scrummy feta scone. Wish I could have spent more time as the décor was just what you would want in a quaint village café and the ambiance was most pleasant. All the best to Lamingtons and the proprietor(s).

This is such a hidden gem. My sister & I were given a voucher for an afternoon tea ... well what a treat! It far exceeded anything I had expected. The cakes were out of this world and they were all made in house fresh that day. I believe it is a couple that run the tea room but we only met and were served by one of them, he is hearing impaired which explains the lack of a landline phone, the penny dropped when we met him, he was the nicest of hosts, he couldn't have been more attentive. We couldn't finish everything so bought some cakes home and will enjoy those later this evening.Thank you so much, I will be recommending your afternoon tea to everyone & will definitely be back!

Having had my eye on this place for a while, I finally had the opportunity to try it out yesterday. We were greeted by a very friendly man who gave us a large table to sit at. The table did seem to overwhelm the small inside space I must say but I suppose they use it for larger groups. We ordered an English breakfast tea, peppermint tea, carrot cake cupcake, lemon drizzle and a scone. My brother did initially ask for some green tea but as they had no honey he opted for peppermint instead. We were served the hot drinks within about 5 minutes in lovely tea ware and were looking forward to the cakes. While we were drinking and patiently waiting, a chap popped in and proceeded to order a slice of cake to take away. They were talking and catching up but what should have taken a few moments, took far longer - and to top it off he paid and was given his cake before us. Now I totally understand that this is a friendly and local place which is great but I do feel that we should have been prioritised in this instance. It was well over 10 minutes and 2 full cups of tea each before we were even brought our cakes.I think that we should have been given our cakes before the man who popped in - especially if they proceeded to catch up for over 10 minutes. I personally like to drink my tea and nibble on my cake at the same time. I loved the carrot cake itself but had to scrape off the so-called buttercream, as it was exceptionally sweet and of a strange moose like consistency. I’ve never had anything like it and did not enjoy it at all. My brother thought his lemon drizzle was quite average but I really liked it and I found the scone average but he loved it. I would have definitely given 4 stars had the service just been better, so it’s a shame that I could not.

Stumbled across this gem on a hike in the area. Two reasons why I definitely will be back and why I will recommend to my friends:- Carrot cake was excellent quality and super generous portion size, it didn't ecen fit on the plate!! Still slightly moist on the inside, packed with flavour and light but tasty frosting.- Never have I seen such friendly, grateful, smiley staff! Welcoming and relaxed atmosphere, no rush or stress whatsoever. As I said, I'll be back!

The cakes are beautiful-like something from the Great British Bake Off -slices are very generous and always a treat! Their light lunches are also good (try the quiches). The service is friendly and they are welcoming to children but it’s pretty tearoom interior isn’t suitable for little wriggly ones. The beautiful babycinos are served in the most beautiful porcelain cups and saucers. There are a few outside tables. If it’s busy service can be a little bit slow they now take cards which is great!

It’s been over a year since I was last here and given the currently restrictions I wasn’t sure just what the sketch would be. All seating was outdoors which was fine as it was a lovely day. The usual array of cakes were displayed now in the window. And they didn’t disappoint. We stopped for coffee and cake after a walk and the choice was a difficult one. We opted for a chocolate fudge cake which was served warm with strawberries and a carrot cake. The slices are very generous so can easily share. We took half home with us for later. I popped in here for a quick lunch after walking from Redhill and was very pleased with the ambience. The coffee was excellent, the salmon quiche was very tasty and the pear and ginger cake was out of this world and huge! I would heartily recommend.

Lamingtons is a top notch place for scones. Very pleasant surroundings. Friendly helpful staff. Scones are the best

A great visit today! We had quiche and soup, yummy coffee and then amazing cake. We couldn’t decide so had all 4. The pear cake was incredibly light and fluffy, the coffee and chocolate totally decadent and the carrot cake with cream cheese icing was a big hit. The two gentlemen who ran it were lovely and couldn’t do enough evening helping us put our coats on at the end and making sure I was ok to have the salmon quiche as quite heavily pregnant. Big hit and will definitely return.

I had my first visit to Lamingtons this afternoon with my daughter (6), my sister and a friend. We were treated to a wonderful afternoon with attentive hosts and the most enormous cakes we’ve ever eaten!!!

The café is easy to find on the left hand side of the A25 heading west. There is parking outside for a few cars. Inside the room is nicely laid out with furniture and decoration my wife likes; old fashioned/Victorian. The Waiter is friendly, polite and very helpful. The food was nice.

Having had AT across the globe and in all the best hotels in London I consider myself somewhat a pm tea aficionado. I have enjoyed theme teas (Alice in Wonderland), Tittle Tattle Tea and even an AT inside a princess carriage but I have never had an AT better than the one I had at Lamingtons!

A really lovely tea room with absolutely delicious afternoon tea. Could not recommend more. The afternoon tea was the perfect amount (and we had to take a little cake home each in a doggy bag). Absolutely fantastic. Thank you.

I visited Lamingtons today with my daughter, mum, sister and niece for a birthday high tea. It was absolutely delicious and we had so much food we had to take some home with us. Carrot and butternut squash soup to start followed by delicious fresh cakes, sandwiches and cream tea, all presented beautifully on pretty china. Top ups of tea and coffee were offered all afternoon, served by a constantly smiling and charming, Mark. We will be back soon!

Such a charming place, I am always disappointed when it is full! Superb food which has been made with love. Bone china all round. Cakes are to die for...and huge! I had quiche on the last occasion. I am not usually a fan but this was amazingly tasty and I even bought a piece to take home. Nothing like mass-produced. You can tell that there is love in everything that is served...and it's all hand-made. Staff are courteous and cannot do enough to help. Would love it if you would start to take credit cards though, as I didn't have cash on me last time and had to ask the person I had invited along to pay. Only a small quibble because i still love you!

Took my Mum here for her birthday treat (cos that's just the kind of guy I am) and we loved it! Mark was serving us and was welcoming as soon as we walked in. He brought us out a cheeky red pepper soup to start (which tasted awesome) and then we had a monumental Afternoon Tea platter! The sandwiches were big, filled to the brim and tasted just a little bit naughty. This was followed by warm scones with cream and jam (along with a tea pot top up) and then we moved on to the top plate full of amazing deserts (which we had to take half of home because we were too full). We wrote a message to Paul, the chef, to say how much we liked it all. He makes the lot of it fresh! I would definitely recommend taking anyone here (only people you like, don't take anyone you arnt so fond of as then you will be wasting the food on them) and I can't wait to go again. Mark was a great host and the food was better than Gravetye Manor! (and they're food is amazing) I didn't try some but there was also this massive chocolate cake that looked like the one out of Matilda. Will be going back for that.

Went for lunch with friends, delicious freshly made food (including homemade quiche and soup) and lots of cakes/scones to choose from. We were very well looked after in a lovely atmosphere with tea served in real china. Have been here several times and would highly recommend a visit.

A charming tea room on the High Street, with delicious homemade cakes and real china. The lunch menu looked good, but alas we could only manage tea/coffee and cake. Mark made us very welcome. We look forward to going back.

Planned to stop here mid point on a cycle ride. The owner could not have been more kind and welcoming. Coffee was really lovely, cheeses muffin nicely warmed and one of the best I have tasted and the service impeccable. We sat outside - I wouldn’t have felt comfy sitting inside in my kit, but I am sure they wouldn’t have batted an eyelid! The owner also took our water bottles and refilled them without question - you would be surprised how much of a struggle that is for some establishments!. The cakes looked absolutely amazing and I will be back perhaps dressed more appropriately for the wonderful venue in the future.

Stopped here en route to LGW. Very nice breakfast and good service, reasonably priced and only 15 minutes from the airport. Parking out the front or just opposite in an open car park. Will definitely visit again rather than an over-priced meal at the airport.
