Excellent food at extremely reasonable prices. Always enjoy eating here as there is a good choice of home cooked food always served hot. Can eat in pub or in quiet restaurant on the side. Garden area is great when weather is good.

My children arranged a birthday lunch for my 70th . Twenty-one of us ..plus friends calling in . A buffet lunch , excellent , great food .lovely staff and a great atmosphere . I would recommend the Diamond

The diamond hits all the right spots for the generation that remembers when pubs were pubs! Great selection of beers, tick Great home cooked food, tick Great warm welcome, tick Great ambience, tick Great garden and outside areas, tick All round experience, fantastic! We have been many a time to the diamond and can’t speak highly enough. And when you brag to your friends and family it’s literally the best old school pub it normally lets you down. But not the diamond! Today we came as a family of 7 biggin it up with the tease of the meat raffle as the grand fanale! Julie, boz and their girls didn’t let us down. Roasts on point as always, service was great and the fact you’re not under pressure to confirm to normal country pub snobbery rules speaks volumes! Everyone loved the food and then the excitement of the raffle! Boz’s fantastic enthusiasm and delivery brings great excitement to a simple meat raffle that some might overlook. But oh no! Amazing how many people this draws in for the chance to win quality meat from a local quality butcher! Admittedly, the diamond is not everyone’s cup of tea, locals laughing and drinking, sky sports, not a craft beer in sight or a stacked hidden roast! In my eyes it’s heaven! Taking me back to when pubs were pubs! What a selection of lagers! A rare find in these days of hipster craft beers. Food that tastes like it should leaving you feel like you’ve enjoyed it just as you did as a child when visiting your grandparents (no offence meant Julie). When you leave the diamond you leave with a smile on face and a feeling of contentment. Which is rare in this area. I love the fact that service isn’t added to your bill which makes you feel more inclined to tip which I would anyway as the effort isn’t forced or fake! If you do one new thing this year, take the time to visit the diamond, Julie,Boz and their team will give you a Sunday afternoon to remember!

A really friendly traditional pub with a great community spirit and involvement with the community. To make this a stunning pub, it needs a re-model to open up the bar area and allow a more comfortable gathering of folk to enjoy the evening without being in a walkway. Great garden and decking area. They run weekly meat raffles and various events such as charity auctions towards the local community. Good friendly and popular pub. 07/01/2024- Had Sunday roast today. A good wholesome meal, the beef was a smaller serving but very tasty, with a good selection of vegetables, again just enough for 2. Overall a nice meal, not the biggest but well cooked, tasty and enjoyable. Would go again

Had a CHristmas meal, for a large party. Lovely food, from a very good menu. All served on time and excellent quality...thoroughly enjoyable night !

Had a wonderful time at the Diamond Inn, for our Christmas party. 14 of us thoroughly enjoyed ourselves...great food and great service. They reallly took care of us - and another large party in the restaurant, at the same time. Would highly recommend a visit !

The diamond is everything we look for in a traditional pub! It hasn’t lost its identity and doesn’t try to be something it’s not! This is not patronising but a compliment. So many pubs have lost touch of what it means to be a pub! Julie, Boz and their staff all offer a friendly welcome. A selection of great beers that doesn’t focus on the hip and trendy craft ales! A refreshing change to see a huge selection of European lagers and still some traditional local ales! Lovely wines all served in a beautiful glass, this adds to the experience and really does make a difference! Julie’s food is delicious, an outstanding Sunday roast and a general menu rarely seen in a pub nowadays. Traditional dishes at fantastic prices. No pings from the kitchen when you’re food is ready at the diamond! Love and genuine effort to produce good home cooked food which doesn’t disappoint! A beautiful sundrenched garden with bespoke furniture and a Mediterranean feel decked area ladened with natural grape vines, really makes you feel you could be anywhere. Sundays are our favourite time to visit the diamond, a selection of beautiful home cooked roasts, a few drinks in the bar with old and new friends. Then the highlight, the meat raffle so entertainingly performed by your friendly host Boz! A real feel of days past bringing tradition and a feeling togetherness that so many other pubs lack. Julie and Boz offer so much to their customers and try to provide varied events and entertainment throughout the year. They really do deserve the love and support of their customers which is why they are so successful! If you have a bucket list, add a visit to the diamond!

Absolutely fantastic food. First time we had been there. Excellent variety and landlord was super too plus cook. Well worth a visit and would highly recommend. Will be back without a doubt.

Booked a big group for beers & meal. Welcomed by Pub Team and we consumed pints of our beloved Larkins Traditional and Larkins Best - perfect cellar here in tip top condition. We sat outside on a warm balmy evening such a perfectly delightful garden with quality decking and seating (sitting under the ever growing grape vine with hanging fruit developing reminded many of France). Garden backs onto open farmland and trees beyond Food was promptly served by the team and we were so well looked after. Fish and chips scored very high as did Steak & Ale Pud oh and the stroganoff - deserts followed Perfect for us and highly recommended Was a shame to have to leave!!

Had lunch from the special lunch time menu today, a main meal and a drink £12.50 wine, beer, soft drink, tea or coffee. Great choice to choose from, and the food was delicious, definitely going back

First time here. The pub is warm and welcoming, with a great terrace on the outside where we took a drink enjoying a warm day. I will definitely come back later to try the menu. Pleasantly surprisied by the reasonably priced food, but it was a bit early to enjoy any of it. They do take away fish & chips on wednesday night.

This pub is a breath of fresh air. An old skool pub. There aren’t many left. The food is simply superb. Better than all the gastro pubs in the area. I can honestly say it’s the best pub grub I’ve had. Not to mention the best fish and chips I’ve ever had.

We had a really enjoyable and relaxed evening in The Diamond last night. A lovely welcome from the staff, superb food cooked and prepared by Julie. All topped with a great pint of beer and glass of wine. Thank you everyone, it felt like having a comfort blanket wrapped around me!

Perfect child friendly Local Pub with Lovely Staff. The burger was juicy with crispy bacon, tasty pickle chutney and toasted bun. Traditional British atmosphere and a Local Larkin's Ale on Tap. Will definitely visit again.

Had the most amazing ploughman's for dinner, and to top it off a home make cheese cake, amazing atmosphere the staff and so friendly I would recommend the diamond to anyone and everyone 10/10

OMG..went for a quiet drink with my daughter on a Monday evening and found we were in a bookies. The racing was on the TV and every race the TV was turned up full as the 10 or so people discussed their various bets....was told that there had to be racing on the TV as there was no football! If you like horse racing, this place is perfect for you..if not...take some earplugs...The choice of beers were good though

Went there Sunday,what a roast dinner superb, then a raffle nearly won seventy quid,bur choose the wrong key. Definitely be back when in the area 👍

We had a nice Sunday Roast here - staff were friendly and accommodating (our active littleuns) and the food was tasty. Traditional pub vibes, with beer garden & with parking outside and on the road. Beware of the dark step just before the exit, nearly tripped and put a head sized hold in the door!

Joined friends here at the weekend for a Christmas meal. Great value for a 3 course meal, with mince pieces and hot drinks at the end, included. Very cosy and very good service from the staff on hand. Would highly recommend.

Our local away from home. Staff are wonderful. Food is marvellous. We attended an event and partied like we were the same age we were in 1999. Brilliant visit. Can't wait for the next time.

Had a takeaway roast dinner on Sunday. Went in at lunchtime today and had a ploughman's. Food absolutely delicious. Staff lovely and really friendly. Facilities first class. Would 100 percent recommend. Thank you.

Oxted's secret. A great pub and the food was like being in a restaurant. I hate corporate Mc Donalds pubs. This is nothing like it. A great old fashioned good service pub. Highly recommend the Chicken and ham.

Just had my first roast lamb dinner takeaway from The Diamond and I couldn't fault it. Lovely, hot, homemade food served with a smile. £12. The stuffing ball was so nice I really would have like two. Lol

Roast Lamb with veg, roast potatoes and Yorkshire Pud, Chocolate Brownie. Collection was good and food really delicious (especially on a snowy evening), tasting home made.

Just finished the superb take away meal from The Diamond this evening. We really enjoyed it and made such a change from cooking our own food. Great they had a variety of options to choose from because my husband wanted vegan and I didn't and the menu provided for us both. The meal had extras like side salad, nan bread, like it would have been served in the restaurant Best wishes.

Had a birthday get together recently for +/- 15 people. Wonderful good, great service. Highly recommend !

The Diamond is a friendly local pub, where the welcome is always friendly. We have recently attended their monthly quiz night.They are very busy but so well organised, good food and a fun quiz.Julie is a very good landlady.My last visit I had the fish cakes which were very tasty.

One of very few traditional pubs left, that is, not a fancy gastro pub. But the food and beer are good and there is a good sized garden. It's a proper local and very busy.

The Diamond is simply a lovely family pub and of course that includes the family pooch!! The food is excellent and the service excellent but it always has been! Quiz nights are a hoot and not to be missed!

This place is a must visit! Fabulous pub garden with plenty of room! The food is all homemade and very tasty! Lovely owners and show all the sport!

Enjoyable meal in a comfortable clean restaurant. Good waitress service and we were regularly asked if we wanted more drinks or if everything was ok. The pub itself was very busy and could have maybe needed and extra bar person but that didn't matter to us as the drinks were served at our table.

Pleasant traditional atmosphere with a good bar scene. Good range of food and real ales. Food tasty and well-presented when it arrived - but with only 13 of us eating, its arrival was very spread out. Nice staff though.

Wow what a surprise ,this pub is a little gem with a good selection of craft/real ales, great atmosphere , nothing phased the land lady even when a party of walkers turned up (pre booked), knocked over the dogs water bowl. And a good selection of food which suited everyone in the walking group. This is definitely one to come back too.

Really good local pub with friendly atmosphere and loads of space for kids and dogs. Food is very good quality, fresh and clearly made with care and kept varied with good choices on the specials board. Make sure you try the pork belly if it's on because it is amazing! Prices are reasonable which makes for a great all rounder pub.

Good pub grub and lovely atmosphere. When they have live bands on the vibe is brilliant. I recommend the burger.
