Catch in Isle of Wight

We met local friends for a birthday lunch (our trains were cancelled so we ended up driving, and made the ferry with minutes to spare). It was absolutely brilliant. The staff looked after us excellently, the food was amazing, the decor and view were like the pictures. So many interesting things to watch on the beach. We all said we would happily come back again. Thank you so much.

We came over for the day, on the recommendation of a family member, and we weren't disappointed. The food is excellent and the views from the restaurant are amazing. The staff are pleasant and attentive and the prices are reasonable, well worth the visit.

The welcome and service was superb and the sharer roast was sublime. Plenty to share, the beef was cooked to perfection and the roast potatoes crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside.

Food was absolutely outstanding!! The seared tuna was excellent and from someone who cooks fresh tuna steaks every 2 weeks. The beef carpaccio was almost generous and excellent! Mains very good. This is definitely a place to add to anyone’s places to eat in and around Ryde Seaview and Bembridge

Great tasting food, we got salads and small plates which were quite substantial and reasonably priced. The service was friendly and attentive, great location, nicely decorated, and a great overall experience. I would recommend Catch!

Amazing lunch at Catch today , one of the best views on the IOW while eating one of the best ever lunches on the IOW , the seafood is just the best the biggest sweetest lobster the best duck salad .. amazing menu to choose from and amazing team serving us , nothing was to much trouble , realy good prices compared to a lot on the iow for the fantastic food here , the chef certainly delivers the best … thank you for such a memorable lunch we loved it cant wait to return !!!

What a great find - came with my family (3 adults, 3 kids) and had a pretty perfect meal with friendly, relaxed service. Easily beats many more expensive places I've been to on the Island or mainland. Hilights included seared tuna, beef carpaccio, chicken kiev (bone in) and confit duck salad. Easily one of my best meals of 2024.

Excellent food and service the girls there were amazing, they made a real fuss of my wife whose birthday it was, and gave her a special birthday to remember. One negative the seats outsize are uncomfortable to say the least. On one side of the table there is a metal bar which hinders leg movement under the table

We went on a Sunday so choice was more limited; it was a shame and a little odd not to have one fish option, as other reviews highlighted this as a strength. The roast was nice; a pretty solid effort with good meat though some of the vegetables were a little under cooked, particularly the carrot. Desserts were pretty good, but the bread and butter pudding was quite runny and somewhat tough on top, which isn’t a great combination. It’s pretty decent but was expensive for the quality received. Not quite lived up to my expectations but suspect their strength lies more in sea food.

2nd attempt to eat at this restaurant. 1st time was aborted by a last minute power cut. So glad we tried again albeit 12 months later! 5⭐ service from our host India, 5⭐ food from the kitchen and fantastic tropical views of Appley beach. A real jewel in the crown for Ryde eateries. Wow such a wonderful evening. Loved the inside decor and ambience with some music in the background. Staff so lovely and helpful and service too. Food delicious particularly recommend butternut squash risotto, ox cheek and seafood linguine. Go check it out.

The perfect birthday lunch. We celebrated our mums birthday here with a lunch on the balcony. Beautiful views of the Solent on a sunny day, incredible food, attentive service and excellent wine! We can’t wait to be back. What an absolute gem!

Food was excellent, I had the oysters and beef bourgignon. Would have happily tried more items from the menu as several looked nice. The service was very friendly and efficient but lacking in detail, if you're a restaurant called Catch, you want to tell your customers what the catch of the day is! My main feedback is that the background music was inappropriate to the setting. Loud dance music is not what you want in a nice restaurant. It was actually music I liked, but it makes you eat faster and not want to linger over coffee. I'd go back for the good food though

We went here on a quiet Saturday night and started with drinks on the terrace before dining. We ordered food and moved inside for the main event. I ordered chicken satay with peanut but what I got was a burnt chicken skewer. When I asked the waitress where the peanut sauce was I was told the chicken is coated in it prior to cooking hence the burnt acrid taste. Have a drink on us she offered. I then said we didn't want our main straight away as I could see the chef in the kitchen plating it already. She said she would come back and let her know when we were ready. The meal came five minutes later without us having let her know!! We both had the catch of the day which was plaice. Now when you read the reviews of this place you will find the catch of the day is always plaice!! This is described as grilled served with new potatoes and veg but the plate was swimming in butter. My partner spilled her water on the table as she was pouring it so I wiped it up and was shocked at the amount of muck I wiped up off the table, the serviette was grey with grime so I told the waitress who again apologised and brought a free bottle of wine over. Would I go here again, sadly no

Had such a great lunch, couldn’t fault any of the food and as a party of 4 we all had different dishes. Tuna was outstanding and the monkfish curry was delicious. Definitely recommend and return. The staff were extra attentive. Will be back !!

Great location overlooking the silent and Appley Bay. Service was excellent, but occasionally a little sloe with two front of house for several groups. Food was very tasty but my wife said the lobster was a little dry.
