We had an incredible experience for my Mum’s 90th birthday. The food was delicious and well presented. Lovely setting. Despite there being 11 of us, (and us taking up most of the space!), all the dishes came together, the service was excellent. Would definitely recommend

I've often visited the Dove in a professional capacity but never had the chance to sample their food, although it always looked delicious as it was served to the customers. So for our anniversary my wife and I popped in for a light lunch while the kids were at school. Then I saw both the light lunch and full lunch menus and we decided to go for a proper lunch instead as it sounded delicious. I went for the rib beef on parmesan potato, my wife had the chicken rolls stuffed with wild mushrooms with dauphinoise potatoes, and my word, they were both without doubt some of the best meals we have ever been served in a pub/restaurant anywhere in the UK! Perfectly cooked from fresh, the quality of the meat was top notch and melted in the mouth, and the jus was just the right compliment to the food. All washed down with a really decent pint of Guinness which not all pubs outside of Ireland manage. And that's without even mentioning the beautiful setting in the countryside, yet it's just a two minute drive from the main road so it's very easy to get to. Being a warm sunny day we sat in the well kept and peaceful garden. Friendly owners and staff that really take pride in their business and customer care. I will be back in a professional capacity but this is definitely not our last visit as a customer!

Incredible food and service yet again. This gorgeous little pub is well worth a visit. Throughout the summer they also host live music events with amazing bbq food which is an absolute must!

As always our meals were delicious. Sophie and Will and their staff are so welcoming. I am lactose intolerant and Will always gives me a good choice . Sophie is a brilliant hostess and my husband and I look forward to returning soon. Please try for yourselves, you won't be disappointed.

Amazing food as always, the quality is outstanding, you just can’t get better than coming to the Dove, the service, food, ambiance and rural setting makes it a must visit.

1st time at The Dove, booked after reading such good reviews, wasn't disappointed. Initial welcome a bit hap-hazard but improved and the staff for the rest of the evening were very obliging. High quality food, cooked perfectly within acceptable time given all done from fresh. Service quick and with a smile. Would have liked the wine left on the table rather than waiting for our glass to be filled but only a slight comment. Overall, a thoroughly enjoyable meal in a lovely countryside setting. Will return one summer's evening to sit with a drink in the garden.

Visited for lunch today. A lovely pub with excellent outdoor area where we sat first for a drink before eating indoors. The staff here are delightful, so pleasant, energetic and accommodating. The food is delicious - we had roast beef dinner, apple and rhubarb crumble tartlet and banana panacotta - all highly recommended. I would also say that I think the lunch menu is reasonable value for money at £26 for 2 courses of truly top quality food. One tiny downside was that service was a little on the slow side with us only just getting to the end of our second course an hour and a half in to our booking. That said, they are busy today and the food was worth the wait. Thank you for a lovely lunch The Dove :)

So happy to see this place open again and doing what it does best , that being serving fantastic food with an excellent service.We went for dinner on the 22/05/2021 , and once again we were not disappointed, the restaurant has lost none of its quality food , the service is as always excellent and we had a very enjoyable evening . I am sure that it wont be long before this place is recognized far and wide and begins to win the awards that it truly deserves.Please keep up the hard work , see you all soon !

Our long awaited post-lockdown return to The Dove was just their second day of re-opening after over 6 months of closure, and it was the normal high levels of The Dove service resuming. The same excellent food (Crab Timbale, Boullabaise, Banana Pana Cotta), and the same attentive and friendly service. Well done to the team...it’s great to have you back!

Excellent 70th Birthday meal delivered to our door by the ever smiling Sophie. Chateaubriand cooked perfectly served with Potato Dauphinoise, Ratatouille and broccoli. Every mouthful a delight. Topped off with sticky Toffee Pudding and Petit Fours. Well done everyone at the Dove for our lockdown treats each one of the same high standard.

Having been lucky enough to eat at the Dove before lockdownI was delighted to see they were offering a fully cooked takeaway meal that would feed my family of 5 on my 50th birthday weekend. This is definitely takeaway food on another level!Lamb rumps with heavenly dauphinois potatoes and cabbage with ratatouille all finished with a deliciously rich lamb sauce.... absolutely remarkable for the price and delivered hot and ready to eat. They also cooked a seperate potato fondant dish for just one who couldn't eat cheese....above and beyond!Their menu changes weekly but Will was happy to provide food from a previous week's choices so we could all be eating the same, it really felt like a very special birthday meal.

Looking for a decent meal for my wife’s birthday during lockdown I thought would be tricky until I discovered the Dove was producing evening meals. Not only did we have a surprising quantity but we had an excellent prepared and tasting meal of the highest quality. I can’t wait to go there for a seated meal!

Having enjoyed many meals at the Dove in the past I contacted Sophie and Will to see if they could provide a take away for my dads 80th lock down birthday. They were extremely obliging despite the fact that they would be closed on this day and devised a menu based upon our requests. The meal was delivered on time, hot and beautifully cooked, they even gave them a complimentary bottle of Prosecco. The fact that they were prepared to cook two meals on their day off speaks volumes about their passion and commitment to their business. We look forward to enjoying a meal there post lockdown.

Superb takeaway tonight the breaded prawns with siracha Mayo in a brioche bun was divine. Pudding of of choc and caramel torte and white choc and pecan bread and butter pudding with whisky sauce did not disappoint. All in all outstanding. So lucky to have this local to us.x

Fantastic takeaway meal, just as good flavours as eating in. Meal ready right on time and handed over safely. Starter, main meal and pudding was excellent. Will definitely come again.

I had made a reservation for Sunday lunch some weeks ago for 15/11 to celebrate my birthday but sadly lockdown meant we couldn’t go. BUT didn’t need to worry as, like the last lockdown, they started their takeaway service up again so the food experience came to us, and it didn’t disappoint. Apart from not being served at our table & me not being able to present it beautifully on the plate (hence no photos ), the food was fabulous. 3 course Sunday lunch delivered to your door (if you live locally)...chicken satay starter, succulent roast beef with Yorkshire puddings, cauliflower cheese, Calvo Nero & green beans, followed by chocolate cherry pudding with clotted cream. Would thoroughly recommend if you’re looking for a lockdown treat (though £60 for 2 inc delivery was reasonable I thought) or just can’t be bothered to cook your own. I look forward to visiting in person when lockdown is done!

We've only just rediscovered The Dove at Dargate and reading through the menu we went with very high expectations. Those were certainly met. Our Sunday roast was wonderful. Packed with incredible flavours and so perfectly cooked that the takeaway journey home did not impair. We look forward to more delicious meals and the end of lockdown for the full experience.

Forced to close their doors again for another 4 weeks, Will and Sophie have moved seamlessly back to delivering a 5 star delivery service. Quality of food for our Sunday lunch was as great as we've come to expect, delivered on time and piping hot. It's difficult to keep such high standards under these conditions but somehow they manage it consistently. Only 3 more weekends and hopefully we'll be back through the doors as normal service resumes.

A wonderful walk down through the woods with friends for a Sunday Roast to the Dove, Sophie, Will and the team were warmly welcoming as always. I had chilli squid to start which was crispy, colourful and tasty, gammon roast for mains which melted in the mouth and a beautifully steamed pecan sponge to finish, it was all absolutely delicious. My friend who is gluten free was catered for with no issues, I was very envious of how pretty and tasty her chocolate parfait looked. Keep up the good work with your delicious takeaway deliveries during lockdown, as always I shall be returning as soon as I can !

We’ve had various visits to our lovely local in the past few months and this weekend was no exception. Friday night was a dinner for 6, and Will’s culinary skills didn’t disappoint... Smoked Mackerel Pate to start, Loin of Rabbit for main, and Dark Chocolate Parfait to finish. We were back on Sunday for an anniversary dinner for the in-laws... Goats cheese + Fig starter, Treacle cured roast beef for main, finished off with Cheese + Biscuits and a glass of port. Devine! Impeccable, relaxed and friendly service from the team make the whole experience one that you want to go back for. Try it for yourselves...you will not be disappointed!!

Evening dinner for 5 - menu frequently changes and this current highlights were certainly the rabbit loin & hake curry.All the dishes are perfectly prepared with everything deserving it’s place on the plate. Menu changes accurately reflect seasonal local availability and illustrate the team’s culinary skills and ideas and are delivered with unpretentious friendly front of house service.Always exceeds our expectations.

A wonderful place to eat. The food and staff are brilliant and really make you feel special.I'm lactose intolerant and the chef always manages to accommodate me and make me feel he values my custom.I cannot recommend the Dove highly enough. We have a holiday nearby so tend to visit the Dove seasonally but cannot sing it's praises highly enough,wishing we could visit more often. Please try it and you won't be disappointed.

A lovely historic pub now more restaurant with its own kitchen garden. The dinner we had there last week was outstanding. Dish after dish appeared cooked to perfection, but each one with some very special imaginative culinary twist. My apple soufflé for dessert crowned it all with local flavour married to high cuisine. We sat near the kitchen and I was able to see how each dish was checked before being carried to a table, very impressive and reassuring. The Dove and it's devoted friendly young team are more than likely on way to receive 'higher' recognition - though hopefully not to soon, as prices at present are very fair for the quality of food served. We hope to return soon and try some more of their imaginative dishes.

Visited in 2017 and it was great. New owners now and it was even better. The place is very simple clean country and all thos other words that mean comfortable. The staff / owners are young and enthusiastic and they every reason to be. The food is beyond excellent. We had 2 courses only and what courses. Superb in every way especially flavours. Excellent place for evening meal / Dinner and when in the area it is my No1. No question.

First visit and will be returning. Absolutely spot on service beautiful food and lovely pub . Without doubt the best roast dinner I’ve had out the beef was perfect vegetables cooked and presented beautifully. Excellent value stunning quality. Lovely experience. Young and enthusiastic staff who were very attentive and very efficient. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. We would recommend to anyone travelling through the area, especially if you are unable to get a table at more famous establishments.

The dove is the most fabulous pub/restaurant we have been to in a long time, we go out cycling and stumbled across this fantastic little find. We were welcomed by a host of friendly staff members even down to the head Gardner/owners dad mike. The food is AWESOME, absolutely full of flavour I recommend everything on the menu!! The staff are attentive to needs if they see your drink is low they refill very quickly at request. We have lost some days now just sitting out in there garden near the allotment drinking, eating and feeling very content. Worth a visit

Our first eating out experience under Covid-19 conditions .. we chose the Marquee in the garden for a Sunday Lunch. Just wanted to say a big thank-you to all staff on duty for providing an attentive and personal service in the garden - although this was our first visit we were made to feel as though we were one of the regulars and very much at home! It is not surprising that the food served in The Dove is already recognised as being of award winning quality and the 2019 Award is clearly the start of many to follow. A big thank you for proprietors Will and Sophie for sharing their creative menus and dreams with us.The Smoked Salmon and Roast Beef in particular were amazing as were the Summer Pudding and Pannacotta and much enjoyed!

Our first trip out since Covid 19 started. We had a traditional Sunday luncheon in the garden. I had the beef which was excellent. Lovely place. Good staff efficient and friendly.

I took my friend here for her birthday dinner. What a wonderful evening we had here. In these strange times, being welcomed with a warm smile and an authentic want to please really does make an impact. All staff were extremely nice and just gave the most attentive service. The food was unbelievable and the recommended wines were delicious. We had the quail scotch eggs for starters and the lamb for mains. Both were a knockout! The decor was very tasteful and the toilets were spotless. We were all safely distanced but the place still had a buzz about it. Nice balance. They were also accommodating when we asked if they could call us a cab at the end of the evening. So glad I checked the reviews on here to find this little gem. I will be back and will be highly recommending this restaurant to friends and family. My only suggestion is that they get the steps into their restaurant looked at. My heel caught on the step on the way out and I took a bit of a tumble. The girl who served us did come out and ask if I was ok and if needed any help. It may have been the second bottle of wine we drank, or my impossible stiletto heels but always better to check for safety reasons. Thank you for such a great evening!!

This is the complete package! Lovely staff amazing food and wine and beer in a lovely location. It is so rare to find a pub like this these days. Lovely menu and great touches like homemade bread. Pretty garden with lots of seating. Definitely be back.

Enjoyed a fantastic Sunday lunch here, the roast beef was best I’ve eaten in ages. Scrummy puddings. Even rain didn’t spoil the occasion as the pretty garden has a big marquee. Lovely staff.

Dropped in for a drink and look at the menu. Concidering the covid situation, everything was exceptionaly well managed. The staff were excellent and the quality of the food looked great. We will deffinately be going back ASAP. The perfect English country pub.

Ate here on a Saturday evening at 7.15, having booked beforehand, a celebratory meal, for 2. We elected to eat inside despite the warm evening and were promptly seated by helpful and welcoming staff. The food was reliably good, and the free tasters while we awaited our order were a pleasant and enjoyable surprise. I couldn't fault it, the food was lovely. I rarely write reviews but felt compelled to do so here as The Dove deserves to succeed. Highly recommended.

The food at The Dove is original, classy and absolutely delicious. We ate outside in the beautiful garden, where there is plenty of space and shelter from direct sunlight.The service was impeccable, and the staff were very friendly and efficient.I can’t recommend The Dove Dargate highly enough.

Looked after by three polite and attentive waitresses. Food was delicious. I had pork fillet with a honey and thyme jus which was spot on. The lemon posset to follow was delicious. My wife's mussels in a garlic and shallot sauce were met with much approval. Thank you for a lovely lunch.

The place it self is very nice but the food I would say is okay . Wouldn't say it blew me away sorry . I really didn't like my starter at all had the chicken and black pudding and to be honest I just couldn't eat it and so unusual for me . Then had the lamb and to be hoenst it was okay just didnt blew me away for the price really . The service was okay and was looked after, my partner enjoyed hers but she did feel the same in what she was expecting. But I wouldn't be put off to go again has it was plesure to see the pub and be there . I had good pint there got to be said .

We are staying in Dargate at an Airbnb, Just got back from an evening at the Dove (within easy walking distance) and it was top rate. Fantastic food and drink, genuinely friendly service, highly recommended.

Just had a takeaway order for my partner's 30th birthday. The ox cheek...... Wow! The profiteroles.....to die for! Thank for such an amazing meal in such a uncertain time.

Oh my word what can I say? All 3 courses were excellent quality, portion size & temperature. My husband had squid, me goats cheese starters followed by guinea fowl & lamb then the most absolutely never had anything better chocolate caramel torte. I am a serious chocoholic of the very high percentage type & I was disappointed the husband loved it too as I would have gladly ate his as well! Amazing service & lovely people who absolutely made my birthday special despite being in lockdown. I can not recommend highly enough & will be ordering again plus hopefully visiting when it is safe to do so. We have eaten in many local restaurants including the disappointing michelin starred one & this topped them all.

We ordered a three course meal for delivery. We have never visited The Dove but we were looking for options for our anniversary dinner at home. It was absolutely delicious, hot, delivered at an exact time, generous portions and reasonable price. We will definitely be ordering another one. Would recommend to anyone.

Our last review was December and since then we’ve eaten a couple of times in The Dove before we’ve been cruelly denied by Coronavirus...grrrr...I remember my awesome Sea Bass Gumbo just after Christmas! The team at The Dove have been amazing since...supporting the local community with grocery supplies and continuing their amazing food through a local delivery service. We’ve eaten most weeks which have always been excellent, but this week was a big hats off to Will for the best one yet! We started with a lovely Breaded Goats Cheese with homemade Tomato Chutney...and then a mouth watering Skate Wing in Chorizo Butter with Potato Daupinoise. Accompanied by Bear Island which they also supplied...we could’ve closed our eyes and thought we were sat in the pub...fingers crossed that won’t be too far away.

Experienced the take away menu whilst the restaurant is closed. Nothing defected from their normal high standards in quality of ingredients & flavours. Everything was well packed with instructions/labels. Kept warm too! We were so keen to eat it we didn’t even bother to decant the starters! Beef teriyaki & crispy prawns were excellent as was the ginger braised beef & mushroom (spicy) chilli. Apple & rhubarb crumble & white choc pannacotta - delicious with the added honeycombe! Totally recommend a ‘Covid-19’ takeaway experience

We had a delicious three course (takeaway ) meal, which was a belated Mother’s Day treat from our son in Australia. It was the highlight of the week, as we didn’t know what he had ordered for us and we weren’t disappointed by his choice. You could tell that all the ingredients were fresh and good quality. We look forward to being able to actually go and eat there in the future.

We eat here regularly and the food is always exceptional. We love the way that the menu is constantly changing to fit in with the seasonal changes in the fresh produce available. Service is always exceptional from the whole team, nothing is ever too much trouble, and all dietary requirements are catered for. We will definitely be back again very soon!

We went on a wet Friday evening & were greeted by Sophie & a crackling fire. There was a good selection of gins and a menu that wasn’t too extensive which made choice more simple. My torched mackerel starter was tasty but the duck main course was so tender that it just fell off the bone. Delicious.Our friend doesn’t eat fish but commented that there was plenty of choice for him whereas normally he struggles. There is a good wine list including English wine of which we are fans. This is the first time we’ve been to The Dove & it certainly won’t be the last.

Another excellent meal! Never been disappointed with the high quality of the food . Friendly staff with excellent service . Will be back again soon!

Went for family birthday celebration and we all enjoyed the food, atmosphere and friendly staff. Visited on Saturday lunch time with a small number of food options but this was a good thing. We all settled on something and the taste and quality was excellent.

Visited this pub for Sunday lunch after many years . Wow! , the food , wine and service were superb. Everything delivered with care and attention to detail . The staff were so welcoming ! We will certainly return , hopefully next week !

Bit dissapointed here --heard so much about it --lovely staff but our lunch experience was a bit flat . Log burner in the dinning room was very down and menu choices did not suit the "Pub" Maybe they should try more traditional fare.

A beautiful Sunday lunch. Staff were so kind, so attentive, so lovely & the food was beautiful. We ordered the beef but sadly they had run out (not surprised because it was stunning) but we were bought out a few pieces that were left with our Pork Belly & Lamb. Food was good little bit too fussy and OTT, dessert was delicious best profiteroles I’ve had, sat in the ‘snug’ the table and chairs were very uncomfortable and it was cold had to keep coat on at times, little bit pricy to be honest especially drinks wise however staff were amazing, attentive, polite, friendly and helpful which is why I’ve given it a 4 rating without them would be a 3

We’ve just had the most fabulous Sunday lunch at The Dove. Wonderful warm selection of homemade breads and peppers stuffed with feta as a nibble whilst we waited and it was worth the short wait. The most delicious treacle marinated sirloin beef that melted in the mouth accompanied by lovely seasonal vegetables. Then we had a wonderful hazelnut and blueberry bakewell, chocolate fondant and apricot cheesecake for puddings! All divine! Lovely location, atmosphere and very friendly and relaxed staff. A new favourite for us! We will be back!!!

We went here for dinner just before Christmas and had a most enjoyable evening. The staff were lovely and friendly. Good service and atmosphere. The food I thought was delicious and for the quality of food I would say it wasn’t too expensive. Definitely will go back again.

Following a visit we were very very impressed by the quality and imagination of the food. Will definitely visit again. The chef is superb. Priced between £35.00/£44.00 per person plus drinks. Staff were young but competent and friendly. Out in the country, very dark lanes.

I've had bar snacks here before and a few drinks but haven't sat down to eat properly for many years. The Dove is a very pretty building at the crossroads of a village and has a lovely garden for use in the summer. Four of us had lunch on Christmas Eve and were treated to a superb meal from the prix-fixe lunch menu. Everything we ate was spot on, arrived in a timely manner and the service was efficient and friendly despite the pub being full. The bill was very reasonable too. One minor complaint; it was very warm and the radiators were on. The staff did their best to turn it off though. I will definitely be back.

We’ve eaten at The Dove on numerous occasions since our last review in May, and we can honestly say that neither the food or service ever fails to disappoint. Yesterday my wife and I had a 3 course Sunday roast which was so tasty...Mushroom and Truffle Oil soup followed by deliciously cooked roast beef. Earlier in December six of us enjoyed a superb Christmas dinner...the Crab, Caper and Spring Onion Scotch Quail Eggs as a starter were superb! This is all delivered in a very relaxed atmosphere where Sophie’s front of house team are always welcoming, friendly and efficient. Don’t miss out!

This charming country pub offers a warm welcome and excellent food. Two of us came for lunch and enjoyed it hugely. Both the waiting staff were friendly and knowledgeable, we chatted about the range of gins on offer and took their recommendations. When we were discussing the menu I commented to my husband that it was a shame they didn't have calves liver as we had noticed it on their website. The waitress overheard and checked with the chef to see if they had any. Although they didn't, he was offered pheasant as an alternative main course option. It was such a thoughtful thing to do. My chicken dish was amazing, the tastiest most succulent chicken I've ever eaten. All 3 courses were incredible, so beautifully cooked and presented. Just amazing! We live quite nearby luckily so will be back but this place is well worth a special trip, it is to be highly recommended.

It was our second visit to the Dove Dargate, previously we went went for weekday lunch which was fantastic, so we decided to come back for Sunday lunch. it really did not disappoint, but once more exceeded expectations! The food is excellent, I think a Michlin star should be on the cards soon. The chef cooks what is seasonally and locally best and available at the time. He is truly very talented.

Myself and my partner attended the Dove for a date night last week. We are both plant based (vegan) and the chef offered us a delicious 3 course meal which was not part of their typical menu! Cosy country pub will excellent food and atmosphere, what more could you ask for? We’ll be back for round two for sure.

Stumbled across this pub on a Sunday afternoon and were lucky to get a table as they were very busy ( no surprise as it was so good!) despite being so busy, we had some of the best service, credit to the staff as having worked in waitressing myself for the best part of 10 years, I know how difficult it can be at busy periods! Staff were so friendly and attentive and clued up on allergies! Perfect for me as I am coeliac and vegetarian! The food was incredibly good too! Also no problem that I had my dog with me, having just been for a country walk ! Will definitely be back well done to the staff and chef!

What a find! Where to start? Smashing staff and friendly warm welcome. Fresh warm bread rolls, delicous starters, warming filling roast dinners and yummy desserts. Oh and the gin selection and delicous wine all at a reasonable price

Great food and great value. A warm welcome and friendly service. Nothing to fault. The whole experience was a treat we would want to repeat. Well done to the owners. If you are in the area, do go there. You will not be disappointed.

This is a very nice pub with pretentions of being a superior restaurant.

Needed a nice place to meet up with friends for lunch.

We visited from Surrey on a Sunday afternoon, as we had heard such good things about this little gem of a place. We had two courses each- I had a crab starter and roast beef, which was honestly in the top 2 I have ever eaten (and I’ve tried ALOT!) the quality of the food is superb, the beef was cooked to perfection. We also tried some of the lack of ramb (to be indulgent) and it was delicious. The staff are attentive and polite and Sophie is a star. I would honestly have paid more based on the quality of the food (£24.50 for two courses). Hats off to the Chef. Can’t wait to go back.

The wine selection is very good here (albeit on the expensive side) and the food is ridiculously good. Had such a lovely romantic evening here with my other half who is hard to please but couldn't say a bad thing about this restaurant!

This was our second visit to this restaurant and once again the food and service was excellent. Our party had both fish and meat options for our main courses and everyone agreed the quality was second to none. The atmosphere was great and the staff were efficient, welcoming and happy to advise on a good choice of wine.

We had lunch here the food was delicious it was such a shame that we were the only customers,. We were rather cold and the lack of heating or other customers who might have added some extra warmth were missing.

On a visit to my sister in Whitstable we were treated to an evening out at this wonderful country pub/restaurant. It was difficult to choose from the menu because everything looked amazing, but I opted for the mussels to start followed by the venison. My wife had quail eggs and then the lamb rack.

We spent a wonderful evening with friends at this lovely restaurant. It was a return visit as we were so impressed the first time we ate here. You receive such a warm welcome by the friendly staff and are made to feel valued from the moment you step inside the door. It is very tastefully decorated and has a wonderful atmosphere. I am the first to admit I am quite a fussy eater and there is generally only one or two dishes on the menu that I would eat when I go to better quality restaurants (The Dove most definitely falls into this category). I normally check the menu online before making a booking just to make sure there is going to be something I will eat. When I looked before this recent visit to The Dove there was only one main dish on the menu that I would eat, although it contained an ingredient I really don't like. As I was so looking forward to revisiting this place we called ahead to ask if the dish could be adapted and they were more than willing to accommodate me. Once we arrived at the restaurant they even offered to make an alternative dish that wasn't on the menu. The food was superb and beautifully presented. They take service to another level, going above and beyond to ensure their customers have an enjoyable dining experience. Thank you so much for a fabulous evening, I will definitely be back and have no hesitation in recommending others to you.

My husband and I heard of this charming pub and though we would pop over and see what it had to offer. The pub is very clean and well presented, staff very friendly and attentive and the food was fresh well cooked and packed with flavor. Lots of care taken. The homemade rolls were to die for! We cant wait to go back again!

This is the fourth time we have visited the Dove and it never disappoints. This time it was for a quick Sunday roast as time was a bit short. As with our other visits we were greeted by the extremely welcoming staff who sorted our drinks and choice of table.

Nice lunch although not cheap at £24.50 for 2 courses. Having said that, the place was packed full. A bit noisy at no carpet or curtains to absorb the noise

This is a very good country pub with better than average food - in fact the grub was better than in some Mayfair restaurants I have visited. Good choice of wines too as well as beers and a lovely friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Tables nicely arranged with flowers/candles, all very smart. Good service. Some adventurous dishes on the menu which were delicious, and some old favourites means the menu has something for everyone. Cannot fault it and will be returning soon.

Birthday dinner for 5. We'd heard some good things locally about The Dove and decided to give it a try. Service excellent, food superb, a varied and wonderfully in crafted menu. Presentation was really good, attention to detail very evident.

My wife and I went to the Dove at Dargate last week with another couple to celebrate my friends birthday and came away with a massive smile. The staff were great, the food was fantastic and the wine was lovely. We had 3 courses and each one I would recommend ( I had prawn gumbo, rack of lamb and a cheese board). If you havent been...go!

Our first visit will not be the last. The food was fab, you get what you pay for. The amuse-bouche was a nice surprise, would be a great idea for a starter. We had a lovely bottle of Rosé, very reasonable. Lovely friendly staff and attentive. Loved it.

Truly superb evening (birthday) meal. The staff are super friendly and accomodating, the food was excellent and well worth the money. I thoroughly recommend The Dove for a delicious, delightful and extremely fulfilling meal.
