The Dove Inn in Swale

We had live music and a bbq in the garden, and it was a great afternoon! The food was good and we sang along to the music (!) It was cold but it was an English summer.

Went and watched a local band in the garden, lovely space with plenty of seating.

Amazing hidden gem!! 1st time at The Dove and was greeted by 2 friendly smiles and welcomes. Then came the food...WOW it was so tasty and generous.. Great pub in a great setting Will be back.

It was brilliant here. We came for my dads birthday and it was lovely. The car park was quite small but there were free spaces. On the outside the pud looked really nice and it was even better on the inside. We first had some complimentary bread which was nice and for starters we had the tacos. For main I had the lamb dish, which was lovely and delicious. My dad had the chicken dish which they said was also delicious. For dessert we had the eaten mess, which was amazing. The atmosphere here was really nice and the staff were kind and helpful. Overall I would highly recommend coming here.

A very nice meal. Starters were excellent. Both my wife and I felt the chicken main was too large but tasty. Dessert was very good. There are better options around at this price point, but a very enjoyable meal.

Second visit- just to prove the first one was not a fluke. Nope- definitely one of the best pub Sunday dinners ever!! Service was great- staff really friendly and welcoming. You need to go- but you need to book. :)

Without a doubt, one of the finest pub/ restaurants for miles around, such.a friendly atmosphere, the food is outstanding and all in such a beautiful setting!

This place is absolutely wonderful and I’m so glad we found it whilst on our little trip away! The food was so flavourful, the cocktails were also amazing and the service was brilliant. Very friendly and welcoming. We got the pork belly and it was incredible, easily the best pork belly I’ve ever tried! Highly recommend, thank you The Dove team.

Lovely meal with a great value set menu! All three of us had different meals, and they were all fab- mix of veggie, meat and fish. Warm bread to start and two courses well paced . Friendly and efficient service- thank you for having us, we're looking foward to return and use the garden when it's warmer!

The food here was delicious and big...like OMG big! We dined here in April and I opted for the sunday lunch. I opted for the turkey, which was moist and flavoursome. Served with x5 massive roasted potato, veggies, and yorkshire. We opted for additions of piggy in blankets and extra gravy. Their homemade gravy jus was blooming marvellous! It was very reasonable priced at £22 as the portions were huge! It was a shame they didn't offer cauliflower cheese every week - as its my fav! Apparently, it's a special now and again. Staff were friendly and polite, cute pub about x50 covers can be done in one sitting inside and a bar to chill at too. Beautiful large outside area, with stunning wisteria growing. I'm looking forward to coming back in the summer to try more of their lunch menus while in the sunshine! It also has its own carpark. Recommend by a friend and now recommending to you. We loved it, you won't be disappointed!

One of the best roast dinners I’ve ever had. The turkey was moist and succulent, and the roast potato’s were beautifully crisp with a fluffy interior. I could eat the red cabbage in a bowl on its own. I would highly recommend going here for a roast. Don’t let the price put you off, the food is delicious and the portion sizes are very generous! The atmosphere in the pub was nice and really pleasant to have a lovely meal in. I would definitely go back on a Sunday for a roast, or a meal in the week.

Great staff, amazing food & cocktails! Went on a lovely Sunny Friday for lunch and had an amazing time in the garden, a lovely hidden gem. No other words for the food apart from mouth watering and jaw dropping.

Food looked great, but didn't eat. Not set up for a quick pint, it's a food pub. Felt a bit in the way . Wine was very good. Crisps out of date and stale.

No words can sufficiently describe the Dove! Incredible food, the flavours were absolutely superb. 3 courses of excellent food. The service was friendly and attentive, without being overbearing. Lovely atmosphere, well styled. Highly recommended and can’t wait to go back.

Called in to this beautiful country pub on spec hoping for a light lunch, mid way through a woodland walk with our dog Barney, and received a warm and friendly welcome. We were very luck that a table for two was available and we were served the most gorgeous soup from a spectacularly tempting menu. The absolutely stars of the meal though were the bread rolls home made, stuffed with olives, sun-dried tomatoes, completely delicious with home made butter. We will be back, and with a reservation next time.

Visiting Canterbury to see family, I was recommended The Dove by a colleague, and boy it didn't disappoint. Excellent food, superb service and wonderful atmosphere, only wished I lived closer as I'm sure I'd be a regular customer.

Amazing roast beef dinner! Portion size was perfect and the beef was so tender and tasty. The Yorkshire was excellent and such a good portion of veg (all cooked to perfection!). The chocolate sponge pudding was gorgeous and the selection of drinks was great. Lovely experience can’t wait to come back.

Absolutely lovely pub in the middle of gorgeous countryside near Canterbury. Small, but homely. Excellent set lunch menu @ £33.50 even on Saturdays. Our food was copious and delicious, the staff kind and helpful. Not sure about their choice of wines by the glass, but otherwise a great time was had by all. Recommended.

Fantastic lovely little country pub serving good beer and great food. The Owner Chef does all the cooking so don't expect fast food but do expect really lovely well presented food. The Rump of Lamb was excellent, so too the Chicken Supreme.

Sheps bitter had a twang to it, think the pipes may need cleaning more often.

Lovely food, great atmosphere and ever obliging and friendly staff. Genuinely one of the very best places to eat in the Faversham area (and there some great places to eat here!) Thoroughly recommended and The Dove remains one of our favourites!

Unbelievably good all-round experience. The food is amazing as are the front of house staff. Lovely setting and well worth a special journey if you're not lucky enough to live locally. Apparently all the food is done by one man from scratch - the man's a genius!

Didn't eat so cannot give stars for food I didn't have. David shepherd was singing in the garden. There was a barbecue menu and bar. I felt like I was tucked away in Portugal hills enjoying a sunny holiday. What a great atmosphere and wonderful venue. Staff seemed cheerful and it was a great afternoon. Small car park issues dealt with well, field on other side of pub opened for parking . Although there were some kids there and they were welcomed, there isn't any obvious catering for them. Overall I was impressed by my first visit. Definitely won't be my last.

Discovered this gem accidentally after a Sunday walk. Amazing food and a stunning garden. Will definitely return (without muddy boots) for a fine dinning experience.

Recently had lunch here, what a wonderful experience, such a hidden gem! Staff are welcoming and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. The place itself it's chocolate box picture perfect and the food was outstanding. Portions were perfect size and every mouthful a delight! This is a really special place. Totally worthy of 5 stars!

First time at The Dove yesterday lunchtime. We had a lovely time celebrating our wedding anniversary. The staff were very friendly and the pub had a nice relaxed atmosphere. We had a 2 course lunch and the menu had some good choices. The food was excellent, and we especially liked the homemade rolls and butter. A great all round experience. See you next time.

This is a superb place to eat as the food is delicious the service is great and the atmosphere is most welcoming. The price is right too. There is a lot of South African specials to be had too The chef Dean Legg is extremely creative.

Simply superb food and world class service and a great pub. Every dish was excellent in both flavour and presentation . The rhubarb tartlet and ginger stem ice cream is very special. Overall a dining experience not to be missed.

Unlucky with my visit . Pub was closed on Sunday .so couldn't get to see inside .outside bar @ music was good though . Worth another visit.

Attended the bbq on Sunday with musician Trevor. It was a lovely sunny day, plenty of shade. We had the bbq lunch of pulled beef which was delicious. Lovely atmosphere of families and friends. We very much hope to return with friends. Thank you.

Went to The Dove today for the first time for Sunday Lunch . I never write reviews but it was the best Sunday Lunch for ages , the food was excellent so I was compelled to leave this review. Well done to all who work there.

The Dove has been on my list of places to try for a while and yesterday 4 of us visited for Saturday lunch. Very pretty pub, even on a wet and windy day. Service was friendly and attentive and the set course lunch was delicious and excellent value. We were all very impressed with the menu and quality of food and presentation. Look forward to visiting again, thank you.

What a great pub, beautiful food, and attentive service. I’m glad we booked for our Sunday lunch as it was busy. My booking requests, beyond the normal time, date , party size, were obliged which was very much appreciated. And oh my gosh, the food! Just amazing! Fresh, local, and cooked to perfection. Despite it being very busy on the day the service was faultless. We had a wonderful visit for an early birthday celebration. Highly recommend and will return.

Food and service absolutely outstanding, there is nothing that can be improved here. The menu is simple but very well put together, the food is well worth the higher price. The restaurant is lacking in ambience. We were sat right next to the kitchen door with staff walking by every minute. It didn't really feel like a comfort or viable table. So much so that we didn't stay for dessert as and it took the edge off what could have been a pleasant evening.

Amazing food! Great value 3 course Sunday lunch. I had the prosciutto ham with olives and sun blushed tomatoes as a starter, glazed gammon roast main and the creme brulee for pudding. All absolutely delicious and the service was great to match. The staff were really lovely. Thank you so much for a meal to remember before lockdown II. 😊👌🏻

A wonderful place to eat. The food and staff are brilliant and really make you feel special. I'm lactose intolerant and the chef always manages to accommodate me and make me feel he values my cusrom. I cannot recommend the dove highly enough. We have a holiday home nearby so tend to use the dove seasonally but cannot sing it's praises highly enough, wishing we could visit more often. Please try it and I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

Absolutely brilliant. Service was impeccable, and everything very safely done under the current Covid guidelines. Food was lovely and really great value - the starters were particularly tasty and if they're a sign of their weekly menu then you're in for a treat. We went on a Sunday and had roasts - all well cooked and very generous. My wife had the mussels which were also lovely. It's quite cozy in terms of space but we did have a buggy and a 4 month old! As I said, staff were super accommodating and were happy to make adjustments to the dishes (we have some pretty specific and weird dietary requirements!). Not sure about beers as I wasn't drinking, but they had a great election of wines and gins. Weather was pretty miserable but looked like they had lovely outside seating and gardens too. Would thoroughly recommend.
