I ordered the short English Breakfast, which has improved immensely under the new owners. The food quality is great and the sausages are bangin'. On my last visit with the kids I ordered the Steak & Ale pie which was excellent, and my kids devoured their burgers & chips with gusto. Great stuff Tuck Inn team...👍

Went here with my fiancée today. Rather dissapointed. Roast dinner was noticeably smaller than before and for what we spent (over £30), it wasn't great. Staff are lovely, place itself is lovely, so such a shame I had to say this. May now only come here for coffee in future.

WORST BREAKFAST IVE EVER HAD, AND IVE HAD A FEW IN MY TIME, THE CHEEPEST WATERY BEANS, TINNED SLICED MUSHROOMS, UNDER COOKED EGGS (COLD YOLK) AND WAY OVERPRICED, IM SURE THE LADY USED TO HAVE THE DETLIN DINER WHICH WAS VERY GOOD, CHEEP INGREDIENTS, NOT COOKED WELL, WONT BE BACK

I believe it's under new ownership since I last went there some time ago. I would say it's improved overall. I enjoyed the friendly staff and a calm atmosphere. I like that!! Anyway. The food was well presented and was hot and tasty!! It's reasonably priced, too. Overall, yes, I'd pop through there again when I'm passing in the future. Recommended!!

Visited early Saturday morning before riding down to brands hatch and were met with the best hospitality possible. The lady behind the counter saw I was cold from the ride and asked me if I wanted a blanket or hot water bottle, couldnt be more accommodating! Very reasonable price, good food, very clean restaurant and toilets, quick and friendly service. Would recommend anytime. Thank you for a fantastic breakfast experience!

Was told half hour wait on food waited 40 minutes after ordering and checked how long the wait would be again and it was still another 20 minutes

Have been a regular of this cafe for just shy of 20 years now and have seen ownership and menu changes in this time, for the better and for the worse. We are creatures of habit and the most recent take over was not received well amongst the regular tuck inn aficionados, which was based on objective truth …until now. The Tuck Inn was famed for fast service, good portions, competitive pricing and breakfast quality that was expected of a ‘greasy spoon’ (cash n carry fayre!!). My visit today (26/08/2024 1230hrs) was not planned but more of a ‘why not’ on approach. As always my review will be based on their most popular item, the breakfasts/brunch. It was reasonably busy, as expected of a Sunday, but still plenty of seating both indoors and outside. Getting served took around 5 minutes as there was a queue of 4 upon arrival. I chose breakfast option 7, with no burger (2 x sausages, 2 x egg, 2 x bacon, beans, mushrooms and chips) which cost £9.80. Pretty reasonable in this day and age. It took around 5 minutes 30 seconds for the food to arrive. Portions excellent, hot and everything was well cooked. The chips (more like fries) were akin to what you’d expect out of a kebab shop, not bad. The mushrooms were your standard closed cap mushrooms fried in oil, they didn’t last long! The baked beans were of a very good quality and if I’m not mistaken, Heinz branded, or a very good off brand clone. The eggs were not your anaemic yellow affair but rich orange yolks and whites that were PERFECTLY cooked, perfect fried eggs to me are snot free and runny yolk with a thin jammy layer. The bacon is your standard back bacon, unsmoked, cash n carry job. Not bad but personal preference would have the bacon cooked a touch more. Now the sausages are what makes this, no longer are they cheap and rusk filled ‘chip shop’ sausages but rich n thick Lincolnshire style sausages with a good ‘snap’ on cutting and a rich meaty and herb flavour, indicative of a good quality sausage. Condiments on offer are very good for a cafe. Proper HP sauce, Heinz ketchup, salt, pepper and malt vinegar. Overall menu selection is very good, from your standard cafe favourites to more ‘bougie’ offerings like eggs benedict and smoked salmon. Pricing is average-high but acceptable given the apparent quality upgrades. Staff friendly, toilets clean, quick, efficient service and a proper LOCAL business. Use it or lose it!

First time under the new owners, very disappointing. Was usually bustling by 9 o clock but very quiet. Food ingredient quality definitely dropped, Two meals ordered. One was quick to prepare the other would have taken longer. When it arrived the 'quick cook' meal was luke warm & beginning to congeal. Had plainly been sitting around waiting for the other one. Poor Kitchen quality control don't you think? Not what it was. Plenty of better places to go to now locally. Price was OK, service absolutely fine but .........................

Years old cafe, used to be a truck stop diner and the tradition is continued even though trucks don't stop there now. Good food at reasonable prices, friendly and helpful staff, even the boss lady smiles all the time. Dog friendly also, (which is a refreshing change) and can be provided for with free sausages

Have been going here since I was a nipper and it's my favourite place to eat. All the different owners have been great but the current owners are exceptional and all the staff are lovely. Food is DELICIOUS, reasonably priced and there's so much of it on the plate. Huge choice on the menu. Spotlessly clean. Plenty of parking too. I take my uncle here for lunch every week. He has Alzheimer's and can get worried in new places but he loves it here, everyone is so kind to him.

First visit since it has been taken over. We used to love this place. Menu all changed. No cheese and bacon quiche with salad. Daughter had the sausage and mash, which she loved. The other three of us were all really disappointed in the food. It's a greasy spooning you used to know what you were getting. But nah. Won't be back. Shame it was great

Stopped here for my Grandsons 19th Birthday Fry-up. I ordered a No.2 Breakfast without the beans but added Black Pudding and Bubble & squeak. Staff very friendly and efficient. They adjusted the bill for my compensations without asking. Excellent sausages and Bacon. Scrambled eggs looked and tasted fresh. Excellent, would thoroughly recommend

We eat here a couple of times a week, food is good, staff are friendly, they are dog friendly, the dog gets a treat or sausage so he likes it too.

15th June. Fish and chips served with No chips until we asked. Fish was so burnt it couldn't be eaten. Chips were over cooked bits and pieces. Salad was poor. Waste of money . Coffee was good

Bike friendly, good food, good price

The Tuck Inn has been a family favourite cafe for as long as i can remember. It has had its up and downs but I am pleased to see its back to its very best. Today I took my dad and his wife for breakfast and I am glad to say it didn't disappoint. It had Good service, reasonable prices, great food and an indication of this was the constant footfall of customers and regulars known to the staff by name. Support your local cafes, they are a British institution and this one will not dlet you down.

Visited for breakfast. Beans were stodgy & obviously been keep hot to long then reheated from the day before. Chips looked and tasted like reheated reheats !! I didn’t eat the sausages or the Ed eggs as wanted a complete breakfast. The man behind the counter couldn’t give a dam. The waitress just shrugged her shoulders and walked away. No refund offered. Haven’t been back since. It was getting far too expensive anyway. There are no replies on here so don’t know if the owner actually reads them ? It’s a shame as she is a really nice lady.

Great atmosphere with folk enjoying a trip to the past. Inside gives the feeling of a 70s cafe. Walls dressed with memorabilia and pictures. Food was very nice had breakfast which was enjoyable. All seemed welcome rode there on motorbike was welcomed

This is our second time since new owners.. well today waited a long time chips was cold, sauages cold ( but a good sausage) cold eggs and hard .. ordered bread that never came My partner had a roast the veg was all mushy and swimming in the gravy .... £24. it was taken over a few months ago 2nd time there in last few weeks. very poor McCain oven chips, food very poor scruffy old man serving. I have been going there for 40 odd years, I WILL NOT GO BACK. gone down hill very fast. all four of us said the same WILL NOT GO BACK AGAIN

From memory, I'm guessing they haven't tinkered with the menu, maybe reduced the number of options, as I remember the blackboard having so many options. Reduced number of options not a bad thing, just makes it so much easier to decide.
