The Beano Cafe in Swale

I ordered today by uber eats my food came swimming in white juice it was horrendous and couldn't eat it I know to expect some juice because its coleslaw but its like they dumped the whole juice and more into the food the potatoe was so soggy and the beans where swimming in the juice

I popped into the Beano cafe for a quick breakfast with a friend, and I will not be going back. T place is clean and tidy, but they have jammed tables and chairs into every inch of space so we both felt crammed in. I had a vision of being on a bus with standing only, and full of students throwing paper planes over the tables because of the shouting and yelling of the staff and the customers. I have got to say that it's a very cheap place to have a breakfast, but I also have to say that it's probably the cheapest ingredients I have ever eaten, and everything tastes exactly the same. I can't remember ever leaving an item untouched on my plate before, but after taking a bite from a sausage and a couple of mushrooms I threw in the towel. I can't understand why the Beano cafe was so busy, but I don't think that I will be returning very soon. If you do decide to take a look, then please let me know what you think. Thanks. MAW

Saturday another cold morning, decided to go to Beanos for breakfast. Service is superfast and for just £6 had sausage, bacon x2, egg, beans and a fried slice. You also get a mug of coffee or tea included in that £6 price. You can't go wrong. Cafe is clean service is good and do is foof

Hadn’t been to the beano since before the pandemic but me and a pal decided to have breakfast there this morning and was left disappointed . The service was quick and pleasant but the sausages was probably the cheapest sausages money can buy, not good at all, the chips weren’t cooked through enough and was hard. At £8.70 this is unacceptable, unfortunately we won’t be returning.

Decided to go to sheerness for breakfast and glad we did. Service was quick and good. They ask if you want a drink as soon as you sit down. Then when they return with drinks take your order. Food arrives quickly and is very tasty. A good menu with good breakfast selections. Cafe is very clean and staff cleaning up quickly. Very reasonable prices. Well worth a visit

9 of us stopped for breakfast early on a Saturday morning after arriving on the isle of sheppey for a week holiday. We sat outside because we had dogs with us. The young lady that served us was prompt and food was fresh and good value for money. The young lady was serving 3 tables at once so did forget 1 of our coffees but not a problem

Had a lovely lunch, such a wide choice of food, all was fresh and so tasty. Will be back when in the area. Highly recommended

I sto here with my husband to have a breakfast. The breakfast was OK. The breakfast s were suppose to come with toast we had to ask twice for this. The first time we asked they only brought out one, so we had to ask again. Food OK service definitely could have been better. Left feeling disappointed.

Stooped here for lunch with my family and were extremely happy with the food and service we received.

We are regular customers of many years. However we popped in for lunch and were extremely disappointed. We sat down at an empty table the waitress spoke to us in an extremely aggressive manner, stating that the door was shut as they were very busy and had too many orders. She then snapped you'll have to wait. We have never ever been spoken too like that before. I appreciate that it is very hot and with the door shut it is very uncomfortable. There was no sign to indicate they were that busy. We would have quite happily waited if we had been spoken too in s polite and respectful manner. This has left us very upset. We got up and left and are seriously considering not ever going back.

Very nice, visited for breakfast. Hand santizer on the table as soon as you walk in. Breakfast really nice, tables clean, service very good. Will return.

Looks like a greasy spoon but does a great roast dinner with fresh vegetables. Yorkshires can be a bit hit and miss and usually disguised by gravy so now ask for gravy separate so I can see it's cooked. Ham egg and chips I would give a miss as the ham is cheap old packet stuff. That being said. I feel comfortable there and the owner and staff are great. The loo is great for the disabled. I look forward to my next roast dinner as it is not skimpy. It compares against any roast I have eaten on Sheppey, as long as the yorkshires are on a good day. Waitress service for taking your order and you pay at the counter. Problem,,, they sometimes clear the table before everyone is finished. A real irritant for me.

Oh dear - Beanos always merited a 5 rating in the past when my family have visited frequently over several decades. But today's meal was a disappointment with expectations dashed. I suspect the previous owners have sold up as all the familiar staff have gone and their welcome ambience with them together with the quality food. Our order was not satisfied correctly as peas did not come with the scampi and chips and when this was pointed out they still never arrived - the scampi were not as fresh as I would expect. The plaice and chips for my wife and I was unsatisfactory as the breaded plaice was overcooked with a hard crust. Other diners complained of missing tomatoes. As commented by other reviewers ham is now thin square slices from a plastic pack rather than hand carved from a joint. The original owner always greeted old and new customers and made sure everything was fine - but no sight of him today. A sad and regretful decline of a once fine cafe.

Love this little cafe. Friendly staff. Nice food and at a great price. Also good for a cheap quick roast dinner.

Myself & my wife visited Beano's cafe today, my first time in the cafe for around 5 years as I had moved away from the area, walking back into Beano's cafe brought back some great memories, same friendly faces, same great non-greasy food, & the same owner who welcomes you everytime with a smile on his face. Their is no other cafe I would go to, as I wouldn't have the same experience. It was my wife's first time and now wants to return with the kids. Look forward to seeing you all again soon.

Absolutely perfect fry up. Just what was needed. Very quick service for drinks and our breakfast. Very clean with great polite staff. A proper greasy spoon. Great price for a huge breakfast

Came here with my family and ordered the ham egg and chips and was disappointed with my meal. The ham was clearly just packet ham from the local shop it was such poor quality, the egg wasn’t runny and had all fallen out. Even the teas and coffees tasted disgusting. Such a shame as the woman who served was lovely and food did come quick, just wouldn’t come again

Everyone me and my wife come home to the island we always go for a Beanos Breakfast with out a fail its one of the best proper English Breakfasts you can get. Fast and always good serve. Food is always massive and you are for sure going to miss lunch see you again beanos

Beano has a unique tasting coffee. Fresh food. Homecook style. Quick snack or full meal are available. Indoors or out. If you want to read the paper they give you one of those to catch up on the days news. Staff very pleasant young ladies I family run Cafe. Highly recommended.

took 2 friends here for grass roots sheerness experience. havent been here for a while. waitresses/servers could do with livening up, but greasy spoon grub for greasy spoon prices seems back!! cant knock the food or prices, just up the workers and youre back to 5 years ago beanos….

We go quite often , food is always good ,very nice people and service is quick and friendly. Food is always cooked very good and hot . Prices are very reasonable too.

Always friendly staff its cheap and its fast table sevice here as well so you just come in and sir down and withing a minute a waitress comes to your table , always quite busy as well

Recommend the Beano breakfast and the omellettes. Big breakfasts and nice and clean. Good prices too

A tasty meal (roast beef dinner), piping hot, lots of gravy and veg’. Beano’s is in a good location in centre of Sheerness with lots of cheap perking just a few minutes away. Just right for a quick lunch on a cold and wet day!

Can buy any meal you want from shepherds pie to fry ups roasts you name it friendly staff ,can go in on own sit where you want and feel at ease, very nice cafe

Popped in for breakfast and we were very pleased with the meal and Very reasonable in price. I would recommend this place the food is good and the staff seem really happy.

Not a bad bit of brunch. Nice staff, polite and friendly enough. The clientele are a little rough round the edges but that’s Sheerness for you! Overall a half descent bit of grub with a reasonably priced menu.. 😊

Love this cafe. Regularly visit with friends. It’s a greasy spoon with an odd atmosphere but that’s what makes it great. Some of the staff can appear to be rude but most are just being themselves having a laugh with the regulars. Food is cheap and always great portions, they’ll happily change an item if you want to swap it. The owner is a real character but sadly not there so much these days. Always clean, usually busy.

Not bad breakfast, good food at a great price, got a table real quick the waitress was great fast with the drinks ill defenitly go back there again.

Staff sat chatting to friends cursing amongst themselves. Food took a long time to come and our food was offered to another table before us! Mediocre food nothing to shout about. A real chav hangout. Will not be returning!!!

My wife and i was sitting in here eating breakfast and a mouse ran along the floor we reported it to the owner he as good as called us liars i paid for the meal and left it on the table .

what can i say,its my fault for going in, to be fair it looks like a roadside cafe,only went in because "rios cafe" was full.food looked like what a truck driver would be pleased with,chips cheap & loads of them,not at all impressed with the two meals, wont be going again.....

we havent popped into beanos for about 6 months, so when a friend popped over we thought where better for a friendly luchtime meal. . jeez how wrong were we. we were served by two waitresses who werent in any uniform that we usually saw here, and to be honest they looked like drug addicts, the menus looked as though a dog had been chewing at them. the food was as adequate as in you get what you pay for but the friendly atmosphere....well it wasnt there! so dissapointed and embarassed that we took a friend there, really gave a bad immpresion of sheerness. very reluctant to go back tbh.

Use this place regularly for good cheap food, so does everyone else, it is very basic but the staff are friendly and have never had a bad eat. Thank You.

Clean tidy friendly helpful staff. Good menu choice prices reasonable service was quick food was freshly cooked only thing omelette for my sons taste was over cooked but I appreciate some people like it well done next time I will get him to tell waitress how he likes it

Poor food cheap food sausages cheepest you can buy stale bread over cooked eggs bacon burnt my partner was also treated to a different breckfast which was sent back we refused to pay as nothing was eaten horrible start to what turned out to be a nice day we ate at the royal hotel a little bit more expensive just but classy

this is the place to eat. plenty to choose from and reasonable prices. the place is clean, everyone is polite and their aim is to please.food always hot and tasty and kids are welcome and well catered for. janet is 'the best ' according to my little grand-daughters. she is a lovely person and makes you feel the most important customer.

Very popular and caters well at this cheap and cheerful no frills cafe. No refinement or creativity and that is not what is wanted by the British tourists from the caravan parks or the locals.I would order bacon over sausage (the quality of which reflects the low price paid). Fried eggs are far better than the scrambled,Order food which is simple and not too processed. Good piping hot tea and coffee.Service and portions praiseworthy.For a simple quick filling very cheap meal.

This cafe on the high street in Sheerness is everything you want when it comes to food, great breakfast/fry ups and they also do lunch and dinner. The staff are friendly and helpful and if you're in sheerness and want something not too expensive but yummy, try here!There are plenty of tables inside and outside and the food is served hot and fast.The place is clean and the owner clearly lovely his comics, haha!

There is nothing like a great beanos. Both my friend and I go to beanos for one of there great breakfast choices. Once you have one which comes with tea or coffee you are done for the day cost 4.50. Can't beat it. Staff are great very friendly

Lovely breakfasts, sandwiches. Very diverse menu. Roast meats and gravy lovely. Roast potatoes not great. If you don't like a veg and swap it you still have to pay extra for it. Cappuccino and latte advertised, but not the real thing. Pretty nasty to drink. Nice clean setting.

Lovely cafe, wonderful staff and fantastic food. The cafe is very clean, even the toilets are of a good standard.It can also be a little tricky to park directly outside but if you park at the back of the co-op it is less then a 3 minute walk. Can sometimes be difficult to get a seat as it can get really busy

Around a fiver for a full English breakfast - the staff are friendly and the food is what you expect. At the end of the day, it's a Beano's cafe - don't expect gourmet food.

Always a good hot meal here, great value for money, a proper milk coffee, not the expensive yuppie type. Anything from a cooked breakfast to a full roast any time of the day, love it.

went there for a sandwich at lunch time and was very disappointed, bland white bread (although we had asked for brown) tasteless cheese and no garnish. Cheap but definitely not cheerful
