Tudor Rose in Swale

We had a table booked and was warmly greeted and told the rest of the party would be shown straight to the table, we had ordered drinks which came promptly and we'd been looking at the menu when a member of the team said turkey and lamb roasts were available if we wished to order them, 4 of our party of 6 changed their minds and had the roasts. They came out hot and heaped with meat which is one thing everyone commented on, 1 of our party even taking home a doggy bag for later, the roasted vegetable bake was good as was the roasted vegetable pasta, it was an absolutely enormous portion of pasta along with 3 slices of garlic bread! 3 of the party had deserts which were all polished off without hesitation! A great afternoon had with great service from all the staff. Will certainly be back as we returned from a previous visit.

After my partner had a smashing lunch there yesterday, I was dragged kicking and screaming, not really, for dinner today. We had a table in the bar which was nice as it was less crowded than the dedicated restaurant area which was, not surprisingly, very busy. The candle on the table would have been a nice touch were it not for the occasional flickering which my partner found irritating. Easily dealt with though. For starters I had fishcakes and she had giant prawns with chorizo. All very tasty as expected but a finger bowl/wet towel would have been a nice option as the prawns were somewhat messy to undress. For mains we both opted for the seabass, salmon and prawn combination and thoroughly enjoyed the decent portion on a sensible plate. I believe this is the first time I have had crispy skin which is often promised but rarely delivered. On to pudding where we opted for cherry cheesecake which was the perfect size to cement our food babies. Then nice coffee to finish. As usual I need to mention the toilet which was clean and fresh once I had negotiated the comedy gender signs and the awkward and unexpected step into what I will call the gents. When you have such a good food offering at excellent value in pleasant surroundings it is easy to ignore shortcomings which are more about personal preferences than anything wrong. Looking forward to many more visits to give the menu a proper seeing to.

A wide range of food from pub grub to special dishes. The food is prepared to perfection. All of us dining thoroughly enjoyed our food. Big portions too.

We tried the Tudor 3 sundays running as a large family, so not exactly a one off. Always rammed busy on a sunday, with far more tables than parking spaces, so very hard to park. If you havent booked you could be in for a long wait. Grubby, unkempt decor, in dire need of a spring clean and a little modernisation. Priced slightly high for the average quality food, much of it microwaved, however very large portions and usualy piping hot. Service is very poor, about as amatuer as you could expect. Whilst most the staff are quite polite and cheerful, they quite obviously have recieved little to no training and are most certainly not worth the 10% service charge added to your final bill. Being left for an eternity after every course whilst sat amongst your dirty dishes, constantly trying to gain the staffs attention, even to pay your bill, is not worth the 10% surcharge. There is no structure to the staff whatsoever and no one person is designated to a particular task, therefore you may well see multiple staff members during a visit, all of which do not know what the last has or has not done or asked etc. The manager (who can usualy be found sat on a stool at the bar) is scruffy, abrupt and borderline rude, with that only to common "If you dont like it then feel free to go elsewhere attitude." It seems as if they are quite happy with a food factory, more intent on jamming in yet another table full of customers, rather than offering any actual customer service, quality or attention to detail, relying on the fact that they have a large foot-fall of customers so they can afford to loose a certain percentage without to much worry. Convienient location, but that is about as far it goes unfortunatley. There are much better offers elsewhere for equal or even less cost. If you continue without improving, eventually you will run out of customers. Dissapointing.

A lovely, traditional pub with the added bonus of an excellent menu. The beer is top notch, too: clearly well kept ale. All the staff were friendly whether behind the bar, at the table or at the carvery. Highly recommended.

Delicious food shared with friends last night. Everyone enjoyed their meals. Service was spot on too, they even made us an affogato which wasn't on the dessert menu..we will be back, thank you!

Everytime i come to visit family in Sittingbourne, i have to visit the Tudor Rose, the food is stunning, the staff are amazing and such a chilled comfy atmosphere 😁💯❤️

What a great meal I had pork belly and the trimmings was amazing the mustard mash the crackling was amazing the baked apple the sauce was just out of this world my partner she had the duck and cherries and potatoes the meal was first class then we had dessert this was a let down for us both mine wasn't described as it said on menu diddnt have biscuit balls wasn't worth the 7.99 each but again meal was first class

Got to say the food was beautiful but as for one of the staff she was absolutely rude and made me feel very embarrassed. I shall not be useing the Tudor Ross again and certainly won’t be recommending it to my friends and family

I came for the carvery as it was recommended by my clients family. I didn't like that you could only have it as a 2 or 3 course meal, as I really only wanted the carvery. They offer a takeaway dessert if required. I have had better carvery's, the parsnips and cauliflower cheese was disappointing due to the veg not being cooked enough before being roasted or sauce put on. They were difficult to cut through with the knife. I chose Turkey and Ham for the meat, this was so melt in the mouth, so all good there! Staff were good, until I wanted to pay, I waited ages for the bill, I then decided to go to the till to pay. They had wrapped chocolates in a container, but I wasn't even offered one.

Chris and Den Holliday xx We booked a birthday lunch for our son and his family at this lovely pub. The food was wonderful. Half way through the meal, my husband swallowed a piece of parsnip and started choking. My son immediately started heindlich manoeuvre and the staff were brilliant. One called ambulance , first aider was on hand and they also took the children to the other end of the table and provided sweets and colouring books and sat with them. Paramedics arrived just as my son managed to dislodge the obstruction. I have never encountered such help and attention, when they were so busy. Even brought my husband ice-cream to soothe his throat. The food service and care of this restaurant is beyond belief. We all thank you from the bottom of our hearts xx

I've been to the Tudor Rose enough times to know that their food is among the best in the area. There's always a variety of amazing dishes on the specials board, and the quality is amazing 🤩. The staff are very attentive, and the atmosphere is lovely. I'm proud to call this place my local.

Lovely meal with the family and took our little puppy with us the staff are so welcoming and kind looked after us and made our little dog welcome also. The food was amazing as always and very well priced . Recommend to go.

Visited on Friday night,restaurant was very busy but we were welcomed by a member of staff and taken to our table. We ordered our drinks which were brought to our table promptly. Ordered our food,when the food was came to our table WOW the steaks were cooked to perfection and the slow braised shoulder of lamb just fell off the bone,we all ordered desserts which were unbelievable. I would like to thank the Tudor Rose staff for unbelievable evening and cannot wait to return.

Best roast I've had in ages. Staff couldn't do enough, was packed and still paid plenty of attention to us. Really impressed.

Always wanted to go here since moving out to Kent 4 years ago and finally got a chance to do so with the Mrs. Absolutely beautiful pub with lovely grub and drinks... would definitely recommend to anyone. Thanks for a lovely evening

18 of us descended the pub as a group after battle karts and had a wonderful meal and pudding. Reasonably priced, we will be back again

Downstairs is acceptable but we were seated upstairs and there is little atmosphere.

25th December, Christmas Day meal - absolutely AMAZING IN EVERY WAY. We had booked for the dinner (carvery) for us and friends. From the moment we walked in the door to leaving many hours later, we had a fantastic time. The staff were so welcoming, smiling and organised. Our previously chosen food courses arrived on time and all the food was perfectly cooked, hot and delicious. I seriously couldn't have cooked a meal as good as we had - the roasties, meat, vegetables, EVERYTHING was absolutely perfect. Staffing was spot on and yet nothing seemed rushed and we enjoyed our meal immensely without feeling any pressure on us to leave (to possibly allow other guests to take our table). Won't hesitate to recommend and would do this again.

Had Christmas day dinner in the carvery with friends and family. We were all so impressed with the atmosphere, staff, attention to detail and of course the meal was amazing. I thought it was a traditional turkey dinner - upon serving u was delighted to see turkey, beef, pork and gammon - all of which went in my plate and thoroughly enjoyed. Top recommendation

Me and my husband went today 25th December for Christmas dinner the food was amazing so much to eat and drink the staff were brilliant would happily go back next year .I would like to give them 10 star's would highly recommend

Scammers ! They try to rip customers off . Manager aware . I was there with residents of a nursing home , staff on duty added £25 on the bill and when asked what is that they went around the bush saying is actually optional . We didn’t even think it must be preordered , but we accepted it . Tried to report the scam to manager , it was nowhere to be found . After half hour we spoke on the phone . Ridiculous excuses , do not eat there !

Came here tonight (19/12/24) for a meal with friends before Christmas! What a lovely evening we all had! Friendly, attentive staff; lovely food with huge portions, and such a cosy, warm atmosphere to be sat in. I have some allergies and everything was dealt with to cater for my needs. Definitely worth the 5 stars, if not more! See you after Christmas for another meal Tudor Rose!

Went for a meal on 11/12 there was 7x of us and we sat in the conservatory. We had the A La Carte menu and were impressed with the amount of options to choose from. I had the old favourite which is my go to and my friend had the fillet and prawn sizzler which I may have to get next time as it was unreal! Everyone on the party was very happy with their meal. The service we received was exceptional. We didn’t want for nothing! A service charge was added to our bill but was made aware that it was optional however the waitresses and waiter deserved it! We look forward to going back in the new year!

Attended our works christmas party, food was excellent and service was attentive but not intrusive and all the staff were happy. Specials board looked interesting will be returning in the new year to try!!!

Fantastic pre Christmas meal out with the girls range of ages from 19 to 52 always great food here and fantastic service, didn’t fancy Christmas dinner so had the normal menu we had a range of items from carbonara, steak sizzler special and the old favourite which is like hunters chicken all hot fresh and cooked perfectly, service good as always staff are lovely Carvery is really good on a Sunday too

The food generally is good , and looks great. Ambient is not something to look for again , maybe just your own friends . I eat at Tudor with our residents from a care home and the staff tried to rip us off! Initially they said the manager decided to charge us , however they added to the bill some “tip” without asking permission, their maths is not good because they wrote £25 is 10% out of £75 bill plus £80 deposit paid upfront ( we paid £100 in reality ) and manager was now where to be found to clarify , until I said we go ! I honestly find it disgusting when a restaurant tries to rip off some citizens in need of health care! I’m just so sorry for our residents , they don’t have a lot of money , and I couldn’t let them being robbed by this horrible restaurant. In the end manager told us they will keep part of deposit because they bought the food we didn’t order . What a silly thing to do to lose customers ! I’ll never go back there , and if I hear anyone going there , I will stop them .

I visited here for a staff Christmas meal. There was a lovely atmosphere, the staff were very friendly, helpful and welcoming. The food was absolutely delicious. The apple crumble was THE best I've ever tasted; I would score it 10/10 for both flavour and consistency. My salmon was succulent and cooked to perfection. The only reason why I haven't scored 5 stars is because they did not have any form of soya milk available, despite offering a vegan menu. In this day and age, that came as a complete surprise to me. There should be vegan alternative milks available for customers.

Most of my party enjoyed the food, a couple said the steak wasn't as good as he had been in the past. Overall it's a lovely place to eat. And carvery is amazing. Note for improvement, better communication needed with making bookings for large groups, there was no confirmation of booking sent, no info about when menu choices needed to be in and no confirmation that they were received. All went swimmingly on the day but I was unsure beforehand that everything was received and had to trust it was all ok.

Overall it’s fantastic food, one of the better places in sittingbourne. Probably THE BEST carvery in sittingbourne. However, £4ish for a large coke which I watched be poured out of a bottle… it was massively overpriced and honestly felt little robbed. I understand, that business need to earn a profit but £8 pounds for two large cokes!? Crazy! The car parking is very limited, so ensure you’re prepared for that. Overall, it’s still worth a visit and likely to return on an occasion. Staff are super friendly and helpful. The toilets and overall building very clean and tidy.

It was our first visit with friends yesterday afternoon and it certainly won't be our last. From start to finish we all enjoyed a wonderful dining experience. Welcome, food and service were all excellent. I am very picky about all of the above having run a Sheps pub many years ago. Congratulations to the hosts, staff, Chef on a job well done. 👏 Thank you

After many years of going to the tudor rose 🌹 this visit was the first ever notice of change the service staff 100% never been any different the food quality 100% but for the first time the meals were reduced in size the starter was very noticeable in size the prawn cocktail came in a glass with a slice of lemon at big as the whole cocktail shame I never looked at any prices as I was satisfied now with smaller size meals it's not so inviting to rush back two meals inc 4 drinks £64.00 anyway prices but not everywhere vaule

Had a few great Sunday roasts here, portion sizes are generous and tasty, it is just very popular and could do with being larger, more parking and bar area.

Had a lovely meal at the Tudor Rose in Bordon! The pie and chips were delicious—crispy chips and a hearty, flavorful pie that really hit the spot. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the staff were attentive without being intrusive. A great place for a comforting meal. Would definitely recommend for anyone looking for classic British fare in a cozy setting!

We went here last night on our way home from a trip. We didn’t book but they managed to squeeze us in. I had mussels and my partner had the mixed grill. The food was amazing!!!! And the service was very friendly helpful and quick.

The blonde, middle-aged matron who seated us was fairly poor, not overtly rude in her manner, but churlish because we had the 'audacity' to reasonably ask when we might be allowed to get served after being seated three quarters of an hour - "I'll let you know when you can get served" was her response. Thankfully, the chef was a laugh, and he was the one who plated our meat (a carvery) and was very friendly and chatty with his northern charm. The meat was very good for a carvery. The service score here was down to the matron, but if down to the chef alone it would've been five stars

Thank you for a wonderful family meal of 21 people celebrating our daughter in law’s birthday, the food was wonderful for everyone no complaints, look forward to many more family meals in the near future;-)

Once again we had a lovely meal and excellent experience at the Tudor Rose. We were slightly surprised at how busy the pub became during the early evening that we were there. I'm glad that we had booked a table or we would have been disappointed. The food was excellently cooked and very well presented. We have decided to become regulars as it has given us an excellent experience everytime we have visited.

We went to the Tudor rose for Sunday carvery it was our anniversary and it took the family. There were 6 of us i booked it about a month before so i thought it would be going to the table then up to the carvery we were given the menu but did not look at them because we knew it was carvery we had the lunch and pudding which was nice my husband went to pay did not look at it still later in the evening i was surprised to see a service charge on it and the prices had gone up from the menu on the website when i phone the pud they sad that the menu is just a sample menu and can change it when the want to when they gave us the menu it was on it but i did not have my glasses with me because i thought i would not need them the ladies said on the phone i should have brought them and the service charge is put on if there is 6 or more people my husband did not know want this was so just payed the bill the owner said that most takeaway or restaurants do this if this is the case i would rather cook myself and they wounder why people don't eat out .

Top tip Sunday carvery. Stay at home and save your money, cook your own Sunday roast it will be much better unless you don’t have anyone at home who can’t cook . Sorry Tudor Rose not very good at all .

Old woman waitressing rude and needs a check up on customer service, the other ladies are lovely, and food was lovely.

After an initial error with our booking they were very apologetic and made the space to accommodate our party of 7 to enjoy a fantastic Sunday roast. Very tasty food, with very generous servings. We've booked again for our Christmas get together.

Very busy and very loud. Very long wait for food. Order was taken promptly. We had booked a table. Run out of some items on the menu. Lots of people crowded around the bar who seemed reluctant to move even though they were blocking the way through with other customers then bumping into our table trying yo squeeze past. The meat turkey which I had was dry and tasteless though my other half's beef was soft and tender. The roast potatoes were nice as was the swede. The cauliflower cheese was very hard and quite stalky. The yorkshire pudding was soggy and resembled a frozen one. I had to go yo the bar yo sort out the bill as there was a mistake which shouldn't have happened. A gentleman at the bathroom asked how things were I told him I'd had better. The answer was they had done 400 covers. Eventually after a phone call to the manageress/owner the bill was sorted. In my opinion this pub/restaurant is not the same as it used to be. We would not be returning.

Wife and I ate and had drinks, the food and service was excellent and found the staff to be very friendly. Will be going back again soon…

Myself and my husband arrived on a Friday at 5.30pm, as we have done numerous times, we got a drink and sat down and asked if we could order something to eat, the lady advised that they were fully booked, there was nobody in the place apart from 3 men drinking in the bar area, we advised the lady that we would order something small like cheesy chips to which she replied, we don't take walk-ins you can buy some crisps. with that we left the pub she clearly did not want our custom, so we went somewhere else who did.

Amazing Sunday roasts and great atmosphere. Staff very helpful and attentive. Specials board very good but would like to see some changes from time to time. Sunday roast gravy is to die for.

We visited on a whim as we were in the area and just caught the end of the lunch service. Friendly staff and nice cosy atmosphere. We ordered and the food came quickly. The food was very nice, well cooked, flavoursome and delicious. Had a couple of drinks too. Prices are competitive, not cheap, but certainly not expensive. Overall its very good value with nice quality food and service. I would recommend easily. NB: we also visited this pub a few months ago, ona Sunday and without booking, and unfortunately they could not fit us in as they were fully booked. However, the barman suggested we go upstairs to their Sunday carvery, we did not know they even had a Sunday carvery. So up we went and what a lovely meal we had there too, traditional Sunday Roast fare, choice of meats, roast spuds, lovely veg and all the trimmings, Yorkshire pub, Stuffing, etc. All well cooked and tasting lovely. So two reviews in one. Well worth a visit, but beware, they are so good you may need to book. Cheers AAA+++

We visited this restaurant with my brother and sister in law and nephew this evening and we were totally disappointed. The waitress who took our drinks order did not have a knowledge of the beers they served and looked confused when my husband asked what ales were available, as if she didn’t know what an ale was!! We ordered our meals. My husband and nephew had the rib eye steak, I had the shoulder of lamb and my brother and sister in law had the sirloin. When the meals came out they were well presented and looked very appetising. The rib eye and lamb meals were lovely but my brother and sister in laws steaks were tough, fatty and gristly. Unfortunately we were asked by a waitress how the meals were before they had tried their steaks, but we could see that the steak was tough as my sister in law had difficulty cutting through it, and my brothers steak had a horrible piece of gristle. Another waitress approached the table at the end of our meal and we explained that we were not happy with the meal and she said she would speak to the chef. I reiterated that we were not happy with the 2 sirloins and they were more like rump steak. Manager came and took the price of one steak off the bill but not the second as most of it had been eaten. We are visitors to the area and we were disappointed that my brother and sister in laws meals weren’t up to standard as it was the first family meal we’ve had together for a long time. Would definitely not recommend sirloin steak at this place. Also their online menu is not up to date as on line it says they had fillet steak and scallops, which was the main reason my brother in law wanted to go there. They don’t want to go back

8 of us went to the carvery for my daughters 21st birthday- very disappointed. Waited 45 minutes for our starters, garlic mayo with breaded mushrooms was inedible so strong (had a whole clove of garlic in). Went to carvery when told, so they could check it was replenished, only turkey for 2 , cauliflower cheese was more like creamed cauliflower, poor selection of veg left . They sourced more turkey from downstairs for 3 of our party but the rest of us had finished eating by the time they made it back to the table. Have always liked the conservatory but will definately not return to the carvery in a hurry, very disappointed

I held my fiancés surprise 30th here. Was perfect all the way from booking to the event had finished; customer service was excellent and so was the food. All the guests commented how excellent it was. That's why I would give 5* all the way. Definitely recommend this restaurant to everyone. Molly, Freddy, Cameron and the team were excellent!

Took my nan here for a surprise meal, the staff were very friendly and welcoming. The food was excellent, great flavour and cooked perfectly. Was a little cold to begin with but mentioned to a member of staff and they turned the air conditioning off in our area which we greatly appreciated. The only thing we found slightly off putting was the fact that the staff were walking round the corner and checking on us every two or three minutes, it felt a bit like we were being rushed. Apart from that it was an excellent meal and very reasonably priced.

Hadn't been to The Tudor Rose for years. Booked ourselves in for the carvery and it was awesome! I cannot fault anything about our experience. Everything from the staff to the food was excellent. Props to the chefs for the quality of the meat - the gammon just melted in the mouth - and there was plenty of veggies to choose from. Can't wait to book again 😋

So we have just been to the Tudor rose for another try last time we went wasn't the best experience. Wow it was amazing good service great food nice atmosphere much improved.

Food was hot. Service really good. Friendly as soon as we all walked in. Portions were very very generous ( if anything too generous ) you won't walk out disappointed if you go, so I highly recommend.

Best pub food! Particularly delicious: the chicken breast with bacon and cheese - a real treat! Great atmosphere, very nice staff!

6 of us had a beautiful carvery on Sunday 23rd. Homemade fresh and simply lovely. Found the restaurant to be clean and tidy. The service was brilliant, fast and efficient. Definitely coming back soon.

We chose this spot to have my father's birthday meal. There were 23 of us, children included, with all different dietary requirements and tastes and they managed to cater for everyone! Such an enjoyable evening in a homey enviroment with friendly staff. Thank you Tudor Rose, we will be back!

The place needs a very good clean especially the seating in the carvery , was told the chairs are due for a refurnish some time, but a clean for now would suffice.

Visited for Sunday lunch. Fitted us in on the day which was wonderful. Beef and turkey ordered with a portion of cauliflower cheese. So much meat and the plate was full which was wonderful. Parsnips, carrots, roast potatoes, Yorkshire puddings all very tasty. Extra gravy too. Staff very welcoming, friendly and attentive. Lots of people coming with family so very popular. Definitely coming again.

Lovely pub, great food. Good variety for vegetarians, some dishes can be made into children's size portions for vegetarians. The warm scotch egg starter is a must!
