Booked a table for lunch for my Sister in Laws Birthday and we all loved the food, the service and the pub. Thank you for making her day!

The food here iiiiissss increddddddible!! Well priced and their beer festival is top!

The meal was delicious, and the ambiance was delightful.

We popped in for a drink and was made very welcome, with bar staff being very friendly and informative. We shall definitely visit again very soon.

Theresa and Carol did a wonderful job helping me organise and host my Father's funeral gathering. They helped me decide on the right number for the buffet and the food was delicious. I wanted to drop off some photos and a condolence early on the morning of the funeral and Theresa met me there at 8am so I could get back home in time to get ready. Nothing was too much trouble.

We chose the Three Tuns for a family catch up, the night before a wedding. Of the 6 of us, 5 of us had an excellent dinner with the 6th disappointed by a Caesar salad. We didn't send it back as our party didn't want to cause a fuss and another of our party did eat it so it wasn't inedible. However this is the reason why it's only 4 stars along with only one English real ale on the taps. We came here because it's a CAMRA pub and another of our party being from Ireland looks forward to English ales when he comes to visit. The most surprising thing however was the staff. Everyone just seemed completely and utterly depressed. No smiles. Perfectly polite but basically all of us agreed that we weren't sure what was going on but the staff must have experienced an awful event as no one smiled not even when we tried to engage with them. Just no response really which was disappointing.

This is the first time we had been to this pub as we were meeting family who live nearby. OMG, the food was outstanding. What a fantastic menu, catering for every need, and very unique not the usual boring pub meals. Staff were very friendly and service was very quick too. I will be returning next time we are down in Kent , well done to you all and especially to the chef, the fish board was very tasty.

Just visited family who invited us for a meal at their local pub. Luckily it was the Three Tuns in lower Halstow. On entering there was a good friendly live atmosphere about the place. We were quickly shown to our table. The staff were friendly and Certious with our being over bearing. Great choices on the menu and specials board. The mains chosen were a ciabatta, , 2 spicy chicken burgers and a Seafood Board. I can honestly say. The food was served very quickly. Not one thing was wrong. Not even a “constructive criticism” the food and service was that good. I’m not one of those people that post regularly, or takes pictures of their food. However, the Fish Board deserves an accolade of its own, and worth a picture of its own. Yes, I ate it all, yes it was delicious. A return visit will be in order to sample more of the menu. Not disabled friendly, you can't sit in bar area unless you have booked a meal. Thought that was just the restaurant but NO it's the bar area aswell, also they allow people to park on the curb outside so you can't get a wheelchair or pram passed.

We live in this village but haven't used the local pub for a while so thought we d pay it a visit intending to grab a drink and bar food. Went in and sat down at one of the bar tables. Within 2 mins a young waitress approached us asking if we d pre booked. When we said no, she proceeded to tell us this table was reserved to which I pointed out no reserved sign was on table. She insisted we couldn't sit there so we got up and left. Shame on what once was a lovely pub for being so unwelcoming. We had our wedding reception here 6 years ago but won't be returning in the near future 😞

A lovely country gastropub in rural Kent. They had a variety of lagers and Ales. I tried jakes lager which was absolutely delicious. The menu included a surprising selection of exotic dishes like Thai Massaman curry and tempting traditional fare. We had the haddock and chips which was fresh, moist and delicious. Portion sizes were huge and prices reasonable. The waiting staff were prompt and attentive. Altogether a great british pub with good food and a variety of beers. Icing on the cake was that it was dog friendly so we didn’t have to leave our little doggie in the car on a blazing hot day. Lovely experience.

Very cosy place, every time new different types of ale of cider from local manufacturers. It's always a nice challenge. Authentic interior and very special location.

We haven’t been here for a couple of years and really enjoyed our visit. Clean and welcoming bar and restaurant area, dog friendly, very attentive staff and prompt service. Pork scratchings were delicious on the specials menu - large strips of warm pork crackling! All the food we had was hot, great quality and very fresh. (Mac & cheese croquettes, scotch egg, jerk chicken burger, steak pie and then cheesecakes to follow.) We will be back!

Dined here this evening and had a lovely experience. Excellent service and the food was lovely too. I was visiting friends on holiday otherwise I’d be in here far too often.

Brilliant. The pub had suffered a power outage. But as soon as power was restored they were back in action. Friends took us there as it’s their local, and we were impressed. After all the kerfuffle of the outage, once power was back the staff stepped into action. Seriously everything was smooth and controlled and the service was great. All timely and polite and attentive. The food was brilliant. Well presented and well cooked. I had salmon and some chefs kill it, nope this was super. Other friends all had food they thoroughly enjoyed. Lots to choose from (so not sure where the earlier reviews about lacking choice came from). They even had separate menu for those with special dietary requirements, vegan, veg, pescatarian etc etc. very impressive. I didn’t get to sample the booze as sadly I was driving but…..would go back in a shot! Thank you The Three Tuns

The Three Tuns is a nice pub, I guess you could call it a Gastro pub, in the village of Lower Halstow. I have driven past on many occasions and muttered about the number of cars parked outside. Now I know why. It has a decent sized car park but it gets full really quickly and finding a parking space can be a nightmare. I found all of the staff to be really helpful and very pleasant. On a busy Friday evening we were served very quickly and, once we had all arrived, we were shown to our table (Yes, you can make reservations). The food selection was good and there is a separate menu with gluten free options. Our food was served pretty quickly and was delicious. Best of all it wasn't too expensive. Recommended.

Not what it was! For years this was our “go to” when entertaining family or friends as the food choice and quality was so reliable. Now even for pub food choices are limited and presentation is lacking. On Saturday evening by the time our order was taken the two most interesting “specials” had finished. A replacement on the board was a glorified sandwich! This is Saturday night dinner! As always staff were friendly and welcoming, but as food was disappointing on our last visit and even worse this time we won’t be rushing back.

Been to the pub many times before been very nice food and service. Tonight the manager unfortunately was very rude when it came to the end accusing my daughter of telling lies when she didn’t like her dinner telling my husband you can not trust what kids say to which he was not very amused

Lovely atmosphere. Writing this as we've just finished our mains. The chefs special veal was beautifully cooked and the steak and ale pie was full of flavour with the veg with the right amount of crunch. Will definitely recommend and be back again.

Lovely pub, very attractive inside and a large garden area. The food is excellent and home cooked rather than frozen. Drink is a reasonable price compared to some other pubs in the area.

We love this place! From a quiet lunch to a special occasion or attending their Beer & Cider Festival we always leave full and happy.

We chose Three Tuns for Mothers Day and My Grandaughters 5th Birthday and Definitely wasn’t disappointed, the food was excellent even for the youngest. The atmosphere was very welcoming, relaxed and friendly didn’t feel like we were being rushed. I’m from London but I would definitely go here again.

We're lucky to be in the same village as this pub and have had 100+ meals there. Food is always lovely, as are the staff. Daily specials are always a treat in addition to the regular menu. There is always a fantastic selection for local beer, ales and cider. The owners also do their utmost to select as many ingredients for food from as many local suppliers as possible. There's a separate restaurant area to the right as you walk in the front door as well as seating in the main and side bar. Hops hand from the beamed ceiling and it has a nice old rustic feel. The pub has a very welcoming and warm feel to it. The main bar has especially cosy feel with the fires lit during the colder seasons. There is plenty of space in the beer garden, and both inside and out are dog friendly. It was always busy, and you need to book to ensure a table! We highly recommend the pub and food!

Fantastic village pub offering an extensive menu. I always liked visiting this pub; excellent food and it used to have a pub cat. 😻 Back for the first time in a couple of years, we didn’t book and were lucky enough to get last available table in the bar on a Saturday lunchtime. Food menu is extensive and portions are generous. Fantastic steak ciabatta with mushroom pate to start. Very nice. Big onion rings and chips on the side. Big specials menu as well. The beer was Krombacher. Rarely seen but a decent pils. No room for pudding this time, but excellent previously and one to have. Small car park but you can park in nearby streets if full; so not a deal breaker. Whole baked Camembert on the menu. That you like to see. Will have that next time for sure.

Our second lunch visit but with friends this time, they thoroughly enjoyed it as did we. Fabulous food and a really lovely place to spend an afternoon, we will definitely return again. Highly recommended.

We had to make a last minute adjustment to original plans for a birthday celebration and didn't expect to get in at the three tuns on Saturday. However we rang at around lunch time and were pleasantly surprised that they could fit in our table for 8 at 4.15. We were delighted to get the lovely little room which is quite private. Despite the last minute booking everything was absolutely perfect. The staff were really lovely and attentive, the food was beautiful and the general atmosphere was convivial. Nothing could have been better. A big thank you to all the staff on Saturday.

Food and Beer is always good here and have been visiting for years. What every good village needs (a good pub)!

Visited here last week as hadn’t been for a while and the last time meal was not good so decided to give it another go. Meal was awful absolutely no presentation at all. I had gallop burger and sweet potato fries the meal was like warm burger and fries just thrown on a plate, no burger bun it was a white bread roll that wasn’t even toasted no kind of sauce at all in burger. My husband had gammon egg and chips, chips were more like wedges but sickly white and hard eggs. Food here years ago use to be amazing but sadly has seriously gone downhill which is a real shame as a lovely pub

Very nice pub, food was great, had beef burger which was really big, scoth egg starter again very good and runny egg. Uses a lot of local business to supply its food and bar. Drinks, standard world lager range, draught IPA, just 3 out of 6 hand pulls on but still all 3 different and included a stout. Prices were good, service good with out being over the top. Definitely recommend

I was very impressed by what I saw on my visit to The Three Tuns. Everything about the decor is clean and sparkling, as was as cosy and inviting. My friends and I enjoyed a nice lunch, sitting at a round table, which made conversation easy. I chose Fish Pie and was delighted by its appearance and flavour. There were certainly no complaints from my friends regarding their choice. The table service was polite and unobtrusive, the menu easy to understand and the final payment process smooth and conducted efficiently. I would highly recommend The Three Tuns as a venue for parties, gatherings and intermit rendevues.

same old crap that you get in all Kent pubs when you order a Stake. one large mushroom and a uncooked slice of a tomato seems all pubs and I have tried lots in Kent do the same. it is just lazy NO WAY DOES A CHEFF DISH THAT UP. YOU MUST HAVE EX POT WASHERS COOKING. what is wrong with veg???. carrots, green beans, brussels, cauliflower, cabbage, parsnips, peas, broccoli, asparagus, IT IS JUST LAZY COOKING

What a beautiful pub this is! Having travelled down south from Essex earlier today and had previously been made aware of this pub, so we figured we would pay it a visit on our way back home. First mistake was not booking ahead, but the staff couldn't be more helpful in making sure we could get a table somewhere and still order some food. The selection was amazing but with the promise of a Sunday roast available it was a simple choice. A short wait and we were presented with our food and it was amazing, great roast potatoes and wonderfully cooked beef, really warm and filling. All in all well worth a visit if you're in the area and we can't wait to be passing by again.

Good food at reasonable prices - we had pies (nice selection) with mash. Service was the right balance of attentive and leaving us to enjoy the food. No automatic service charges, thanks for not forcing that on us!

Nice place service good and friendly despite being very busy

This was our first time here but certainly won't be the last. We all had quite different meals, including a pasta dish, a curry and good old pie & veg. All the food was outstanding with excellent portion sizes and the desserts were also delicious. The decor and atmosphere is great and all of the staff were very polite and courteous. Honestly can't think of anything negative to say; a lovely place.

Tasty, delicious and homely. The staff are friendly and welcoming, the service is knowledgeable and efficient. I had family visiting that have never been to England. So for their first experience of an English pub lunch there's no where better. Thank you very much everyone loved their pre wedding lunch. We will definitely come again soon. One more scotch eggs are just the best!

Would give zero stars if I could, you really should put the white people only allowed sign up so everyone know.

Having taken my mum there recently for a birthday meal, we were impressed by the specials and variety and thoroughly enjoyed our meal, though service was a little slow. We returned recently and had a similar experience, we took the family out and found again that the service was a little lacking, not terrible, but just not to the standard we would expect for a place that has a reputation for really good food. We had to ask someone to take our orders twice for mains and deserts, and the check back came before anyone could really eat anything off their plate. When we asked about someone taking our desert order, we was informed the guy is taking orders on another table and will be with us shortly. Having worked in the service industry for a number of years I found this a little disconcerting given that the person could have taken the order for us on their colleagues' behalf instead of making us wait even longer than we already had. I will leave a tip based on service, and unfortunately, on this occasion, I did not. I did however leave something for the young lady on the bar who we witnessed deal with an extremely rude lady when we arrived, and she was impeccable. Food is great, just maybe try to visit in a quieter period, cider selection is also amazing but be sure to check the chalk board at the back the bar as it wasn't so obvious to my old eyes, parking can also be a bit premium as we discovered someone had blocked some other patrons in when we was leaving

Visited for a casual Family lunch, Food was generally good and well presented. One of our party had a Chicken dish which after cutting appeared to be under cooked in the middle, with red Blood seeping, This was pointed out to staff who apologies, stated that the dish would not be charged on the bill and offered alternatives, Our party member chose a Nacho dish which she was happy to pay for as an alternative, when the replacement disc was served the staff member again apologised, and stated that the as a token of good will that the Nacho dish would be 'Free of Charge'. When the Bill was received, we paid 'Without checking'. After then looking closely at the bill we noticed that both the Chicken dish and the Nacho dish where charged and paid for, one of our party spoke to a staff member regarding this, who offered a part refund on chicken dish, stating 'half of the chicken dish had been eaten' and 'the Nacho dish was not offered as free of charge', staff attitude became rude and verbally aggressive with raised voices, and ended with a door being slammed by one staff member. Have eaten here many times in the past without problem, such a shame that we and our extended family, friends, and many business contact will not be back soon.

Had meal last night was really good, staff were friendly, food was very nice scotch eggs and wild mushrooms we shared our starter, we had fish plater for main shared that as well. Couldn't fit a pudding in 😥. Pub started to get busy as we was leaving. Price wasn't to expensive either. Thank you..

We again visited the restaurant and enjoyed well cooked meals of a fillet steak and chilli con carne, both were beautifully cooked and tasty, service was first class. We enjoy visiting this restaurant because of its relaxed atmosphere, efficient staff and well cooked food at an affordable price. Can’t wait until we revisit.

Lovely pub and staff are always friendly, food can be a bit hit and miss. I had fish chabbata which was amazing but hubby had beef stroganoff, the meat was tough and the sauce was not like any stroganoff he's had before. It was also disappointing that they no longer sell pinot grigio by the glass anymore

Fish and pork schnitzel were over cooked and dry. Beef stroganoff had a lovely sauce but the beef was chewy. Upon mentioning a 20% discount was given off one of the meals. Not our first visit and previous have been better. Shame..!! Service great.

As usual The Three Tuns was absolutely fantastic! They catered for my birthday, a large table of 11 and everything was fabulous. The food came out quickly and perfectly cooked, everything so super hot and up to standards. I cannot recommend this pub enough, we come so often and every-time it’s just absolutely brilliant, the staff are so kind and very good with fitting in needs and wants. There’s a small parking lot or ample parking on the road outside and around the village. 10/10 recommend anyone to visit for any occasion.

Decided to celebrate our daughter’s 18th birthday at The Three Tuns. Wanted a relaxed atmosphere, nice food and a secluded area to have our celebration and that is exactly what we got. From start to finish the process was great. Everything went smoothly and members of our party had a great time and enjoyed their food. A big thank you to Carol and her team for being organised, attentive and producing some lovely meals.
