Clerkenwell, Islington, 20-30£
16/03/2020: 8 of us went here for my birthday lunch and was so impressed by the staff and the food. I'm a Coeliac and to be able to eat such delicious gluten free food (and it was AMAZING, especially the parmesan doughnuts!) is such a treat (ALL the food is GF). The 2 staff could not have been more helpful, friendly and attentive and even made my (somewhat wild!) 3 year old very welcome and also provided both children with colouring pencils and drawing sheets. In addition, they were SO careful with hygiene - welcoming us and offering us hand sanitiser on the way in and out (!) and being very careful with everything. This is the last time we will see my elderly parents because of the threat of C-19 and the whole experience cheered us up immensely on such a sombre day.
08/03/2020: Having passed this restaurant many times on my way too and from my Sadler’s Wells (just seconds walk away), I now know what I have been missing. - superb food and excellent warm friendly service. I ok forward to eating there again soon.

The Five Fields

Hans Town, Kensington and Chelsea, 60-100£
05/05/2020: very sophisticated food in a cosy restaurant 5 minutes from Sloane Square. The service is impeccable. We had a preset dinner complete with wine pairing, the server explained each dish and why the wine was chosen to match.we returned a few weeks later and the quality was consistent
15/03/2020: For me the „Five Fields“ is one of the best addresses for classical fine dining in London. The service is from Start to finish outstanding. Some combination of british elegance and style paired with friendliness. ,The wine menu is abeauty and the food simply very, very good. We always choose the tasting menu and every time we have been there, the dishes were perfect. This time the Jerusalem Artichokes Ice Cream was probably the best of them all

Clapham Town, Lambeth, 45-60£
08/03/2020: Taken for lunch on a Sunday. In the heart of Old Town, Clapham, this restaurant ticked all the boxes. Quiet when we arrived, early, but gradually filed with couples and families. Service was exemplary, particularly the sommelier, who was a wealth of excellent recommendations. We had three courses, no dessert, and tried to spread ourselves over the courses. Galantine of chicken, soused mackerel, tuna tartare and, best of all, beef tartare, to start. Maitake mushrooms, quail Kiev and ravioli of whipped ricotta, duck egg & spinach to follow. For mains, baked Dover Sole in truffle butter, crisp pork jowl and a delicious loin of rose veal with smoked bone marrow, accompanied by an unctuous pommes boulanger. Outstanding. Wines were tasty, particularly a New Zealand riesling, but we had several glasses, recommended by the sommelier, that were very drinkable. Overall, one of the best meals we’ve had.
02/03/2020: We went for a birthday and were very excited. We were blown away by the attention of the staff and the food in general. Having been to Chez Bruce a few times, this is now our new favourite local Michelin restaurant. The Dover Sole with caramelised cauliflower was the winning dish of the day, and the caramel custard tart - wow. Highly recommend!

Pellicci E

Bethnal Green South, Tower Hamlets
24/04/2020: First of all if I could give this place 6 stars I undoubtedly would. This place is absolutely amazing. I had the Pasta with Pesto I think it was called. And you guys. Wow. It was THE BEST pasta I’ve EVER had in London City and this is coming from someone who has been to Italy many many many times. This pasta I enjoyed so much, I can’t even describe who good it was. Still dreaming about it. Actually whilst writing this my stomach’s making noises. I so recommend this pasta. Just wow.
17/04/2020: Started coming here in 2013 and have been going back ever since.Got invited by a few colleagues for breakfast one Friday, and was totally blown away by the place, the food is marvellous, all made by "Nona" out the back, always fresh on the day and cooked to order. The banter is second to-none, and really ads that extra bit to make you feel relaxed and welcome, but don't turn up expecting a seat straight away, you're gonna have to wait for a while most days and times as its A; very very popular, and B; it is VERY small inside, don't forget this has a listed interior and can not, nor shouldn't be changed so don't expect to turn up with your massive triple super duper buggy and a weeks worth of shopping, you'll soon be, shall we say, "advised" to put your stuff elsewhere and then come back for some real good fayre.Believe me, its really worth the wait, and I'm sure you will return, again and again.

22/03/2020: Thank You all for 2 days (3 & 4 March 2020) in the Vincentrooms restaurants: Brasserie and Escoffiere. In the Brasserie the atmosphere was informal and the dishes very tasty and well presented. During this very enjoyable dinner, we decided that this was so great that we had to book a table and get the pleasure of experiencing the Escoffiere Restaurant the next evening. The Escoffiere restaurant was an absolutely wonderful culinary evening. Michelin Stars of tomorrow gave us a Michelin experience. The Welsh menu was well balanced as well as every dish in itself. The winw paring were spot on. Perfect combinations! Also Thank you Macy, you were the perfect host. Rhona and Mark, Thank you both for kind help arranging booking and wine information. Thank you ALL involved in the Vincent Rooms. Highly recommended and already looking forward coming back. Kind regards Kristin and Trond
13/03/2020: Came for lunch today and enjoyed the 6 course menu with matching wines. It was South African themed and was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented. My favourite dish was the guinea fowl as it was so moist and tender and my favourite wine was the dessert wine....delicious. All the students who served us were very professional and attentive. Particular thanks to Imogen, who spent the time to talk to us, she was excellent in the front of house role. Can’t wait to return in the future for another delicious meal.

13/03/2020: Thank you Lenroy & all the staff for your fabulous front of house service. You made us feel so welcome & enjoyed chatting to you all. The food & presentation were superb. Cheese soufflé, parsnip soup, belly of pork with pig cheeks, creme caramel & mille feuille. 5* Thank you so much for a wonderful afternoon & wish you much success.
13/03/2020: What a wonderful lunch we have just had at The Clink, HMP Highdown! My third visit and have never failed to be impressed by the level of service and quality of food. Lunch was expertly prepared, presented and tasted delicious.Special shout out to our waiter, Lenroy. He was fantastic! Professional, friendly, chatty and funny. Really made the experience a great one and couldn’t have done enough for us. We wish him all the very best for a bright and successful future away from prison life. All the other staff, including those we got to chat to in the kitchen, were also friendly and open, great service. Have left quite an impression and we’ll be back!

Flour To The People

Latchmere, Wandsworth, <20£
18/05/2020: This is exactly what every restaurant should be. Flour to the people! has friendly, knowledgeable staff who go out of their way to make you feel welcome, incredible service and delicious food, it also have good music and a lovley environment, you can also talk openly whit your friends feeling relaxed, thanks for the experience!
12/03/2020: I recently moved into the local area, and I have to say Flour to the People is one of the reasons I am so glad to have moved. The staff are amazing, super friendly. The coffee is of obvious high quality, as is the food. Be that brunch or the pizza. The whole overall experience screams that everyone involved in the place is happy and takes pride in what they do.I'm lucky enough to live on the same road, but anyone passing through should give this place a go, its well worth it. The Croque Madame is crazy good.

Baileys Fish and Chips

Fulham Broadway, Hammersmith and Fulham, 20-30£
05/06/2020: Plenty of chips and a large fish. Just a shame the fish wasn’t cooked properly. I hate soggy fish. The best thing about the meal was the mushy peas. No one can screw those up. Oh what annoying over opinionated server. Why is he so LOUD. I won’t be going back
17/04/2020: We have been buying Fish here at Baileys for over 8 years, usually their fish & chips are good. However, the last time we had F&C (take away) something wasn’t right with the fish. My children who savours every last bit of fish just ate the chips. The smell was not good and they & I refused to eat it. I called to enquire first if there was any issue with the fish but was assured it’s fine, so I the explained ours was not good. The manager told me to bring the food back in, but as I was unwell so I could not go out. He said there was nothing he could do unless I brought it back. What? I am a customer for so many years do they think I just want to complain? He was arrogant and rude and refused to accept our complaint. He said he could do no good will offer in the future . So he has sadly lost us (& several friends) as customers. We had to get another take away, from Fishers who are incredibly caring to their customers.

St James's, City of London,Westminster
16/03/2020: A rare 5-star review for one of the finest English restaurants in London. I was on a quest to prove to my son (who was brought up in France) that English food is good. And so to Wiltons for lunch on Monday. We decided to forgo starters but chose the Seasonal Menu, which includes the Carved Dish of the Day from the trolley. Fortunately it was Roast Lamb, one of our favorites. The lamb is carved in front of you, and it was delicious. It is served with your choice of vegetables and roast potatoes, all of which were very good. For dessert, he had White Chocolate and Passion Fruit Cheesecake and I had a very traditional Rhubarb and Apple Crumble. Both were exquisite. The service is just right: kind, attentive and helpful. All round, an excellent lunch. Wiltons deserves a return visit and I shall oblige.
10/03/2020: We like this restaurant, where the service and ambience has an old-fashioned feel that we miss in so many modern restaurants. The food that we ordered was good, though the fish could have been cooked less. The wine waiter was obsequious and a little too pushy. I should have been tougher with him and not accepted his choice of wine that was too expensive for my pocket. For all that, we had a really nice evening with a good friend from overseas.

The Golden Chippy

Greenwich West, Greenwich
31/05/2020: Even better than Harry Ramsdens. We love the food, the people, the service, the location. We always call ahead and do take away and it works brilliantly.
23/05/2020: Having lived in Brighton and various other places in the UK, I can safely say that the Golden Chippy does THE best fish and chips! We get fish and chips for ourselves on a regular basis, and every time a friend visits Greenwich - the Golden Chippy is the first place we take them! We even get large orders to drop off to our family members in quarantine - they all love it!

The Prince of Wales

Cathedrals, Southwark, <20£
05/04/2020: Shantel was great and the family enjoyed not only the service but the food as well. We had the shepherds pie and fish n chips
21/03/2020: We came here for dinner as the place was close to our hotel and had good reviews on TripAdvisor. It's a simple place, nothing fancy, but the food was good and the service was friendly. My wife had the fish and chips and I had the chicken massala. Both were very good. We had the toffee pudding for dessert which was really great. As tourists it was an excellent place to experience a London pub.
