Sonia’s food is the best! She catered for 20 people (there was enough for 30 plus!) and it was exquisite. She’s a gorgeous human who makes incredible food.

We had a takeaway roast lunch from the Blue Room for Father's Day (to give the chef in our house a day off!) and I'm so happy we did!! The food was delicious and the portions were very generous. I had the veggie option of mushroom and ricotta pithivier and it was so good! The meat eaters in the house were very happy with their choices too and the sticky toffee pudding was fabulous. We will definitely be going back and I would highly recommend it to everyone.

The food at The Blue Room is OUTSTANDING. I cannot fault the food, service and friendliness of this little gold nugget tucked away in deepest south east London. I very much appreciated when Sonia came to our table and explained what were the dishes in front of us. I was especially impressed with the pumpkin soup starter; absolutely scrumptious. Make sure you book your place. Relax.......and enjoy fine dining.😊

Excellent good quality ingredients cooked to perfection, easily on par with anything up town. But the added benefit of a very small cosy atmosphere. A lovely evening.....we'll be back!

My partner and I visited The Blue Room quite soon after lockdown lifted - and we were absolutely blown away by every aspect of the meal. The intimate setting made for a special and private experience. I had lamb sous-vide served on a bed of risotto with a crumb and jus. I have had some less than perfect examples of sous-vide before that have left me somewhat skeptical of the technique - but I can confidently say that what Sonia did with this dish has caused me to re-evaluate its possibilities. The meat was locally sourced and it was so tender that it literally melted at the slightest touch. My partner had the fish chowder - absolutely exceptional. So rich and flavourful - I couldn't decide which dish I preferred. I will be returning with friends and family as often as possible. I also note that our lovely host Sonia does catering, and would not hesitate to recommend her serivces to anyone who wants truly top quality cuisine. Look out for the phenomenal homemade chocolate truffles that finish off the meal - the fruity white chocolate in particular was mindblowing. Although there's not much competition so far - I am already confident that our evening at the Blue Room will go down as 2021's best meal.

What to do to celebrate a birthday in London during lockdown??? Take away afternoon tea from the Blue rooms was a perfect treat! The food is beautiful. Scones arrived warm with home made jam. Dainty sandwiches and a box of delicious cakes. This gave me much to smile about :)

Tucked away in the resedential streets of South East London, is The Blue Room. It's near where I live and I'd noticed amazing food shots on social media and had been keen to visit. Then the pandemic happened. They did takeaway lunches while in lockdown, casual dining, all homemade lovely stuff. But, as soon as things started to open up again I got a reservation in. It's not a normal restaurant, you can't drop in, it's booked well in advance and you order and pay before you get there. It's situated in a home on a resedential street. There's only a small number of seats (6 across three distanced tables). The food is the finest of dining, clever dishes of entirely home made items beautifully presented and entirely delicious. It's great value given the quality of food and a wonderful experience. Sonia is an amazingly talented chef. I've booked in again already, I'm really lucky to have such a place so close, but it'd be worth travelling to, if it wasn't so close.

Tucked away, in the streets of Crofton park is a tiny restaurant. The chef comes to your table to check on your evening and tell you about the food. You can hear, see and smell the food being prepared. It’s the place of food fairytales. When the food arrives it is lovingly presented and the textures and tastes will explode your senses. I cannot rate this place enough. Sonia cooks with love and passion, and it’s the secret ingredient to make the food taste incredible ❤️❤️

While we are locked down, the Blue Rooms are hosting their takeaway Jerk Lunch every Sunday. Please don't miss out. We opted for the Jerk Pork and it was melt in the mouth soft, full of flavour, with just the right amount of heat. All the sides were of an equally high standard, and the rum cake dessert was the perfect end. Sonia also does her best to cater for most food intolerances offering substitutions where possible. Make the most of this local gem, and when the lockdown is lifted don't forget to try their weekend dining dinner menus.

Well what can I say? I was invited to dine at this very exquisite and original boutique restaurant by it's executive chef, Sonia. It was her night off but the delicacies served were very typical of this must reserve dining establishment. The menu consisted of: Roasted tomato & aubergine pasta shells with charred goats cheese and deep fried rocket. Ribeye steak & homemade chips, roasted mushrooms, garlic spinach, onion rings & peppercorn & tarragon sauce Dessert plate of bay leaf pannacotta, rhubarb & hibiscus sorbet, chocolate cremeux, white chocolate fudge, candied pistachio & cocoa crumbs! Now how does all that sound? I call tell you that the food was Outstanding (with a capital O). Too much food to rate each dish individually but no more words needed other than 5* 😋

Amazing food that exeeds all expectations. Sonia and Shannon were teamed up yesterday (Friday) cooking up a storm in the kitchen. Thier experience span from corporate to catering for large numbers. So expect high quality in suburbia that would be a pretty fortune in town! I really can apreapprec they book in a variety of people at the location. Some may be shocked to hear we actually had lovely flowing conversations (no phones about apart from photos) As we are loosing the art of conversation now days so it's nice to speak to fellow diners. The attention to detail is very precise and consistent. No two menus are the same as it is exclusive to every month. The atmosphere is very ambient and calming. We spent hours there, not ready to go until late but welcomed anyway. I would definitely be back and would tell anyone travelling or staying local to, it is such a gem of a find. The blue room does get booked up so I recommend booking in advance. (That's how good it is!) If you are still unsure check the social media side of things the dishes are divine 😊

Friends of mine who are local to the area have been here a dozen times and when they told me about it - a pop-up restaurant in someone’s home with really exceptional food - I was intrigued. It surpassed my expectations. Sonia (as all the other reviewers have noted) is warm, welcoming and a really fabulous chef. It’s quite extraordinary what she can create in a regular sized kitchen. Really, really, REALLY good food. Definitely worth going to. I intend to go back next month and if I lived in London, I’d be going with the frequency that my friends do. Thanks for a wonderful evening Sonia. I sadly forgot to take a picture of the main course which was equally as good as the other dishes.

Sonia and Shannon are amazing. We've been 3 times for evening meals now. The food wouldn't be out of place in a Michelin starred restaurant, but made by a mother and daughter team that treat you like old friends coming round for dinner. We've also had their jerk Sunday lunch at least 3 times which is more casual but also out of this world with super generous portions. Cannot recommend this place enough.

What a fabulous evening!! Firstly the Host Sonia and her Son Alex where amazing and very attentive to us as their guests. The food was superb and is on par with any Michelin Restaurant that I've visited and I've been to a few. Sonia also the Chef, was very generous with the portions, however at the same time plated delicately as well as looking like a picture. The ambiance was nice and cozy with a good selection of background music. The bubbles flowed and we didn't feel at all like were were rushed. Great venue, great food and Great Host and (Son). Absolutely recommend 100% - I'll definitely be heading back and have already recommended to other friends! We definately received the personal touch!

Well I don't think I'll have enough space to write everything I want to say about The Blue Room experience. THE HOST .... Well firstly Sonia (chef & owner) was so lovely, very passionate and definitely enjoys what she does. She explained every course, and told us all the ingredients used too ... very informative and a brilliant host. Her son Alex was also very lovely, making sure our plates were cleared away after each course and then constantly filling our glasses (I really cannot remember how many glasses of bubbly I had). THE FOOD .... Amazzzzzzzzing food, I have been to a few Michelin Star restaurants (Petrus, Gordon Ramsay and Galvins) that's just naming a few, but Sonia food definitely matches that with presentation and flavors. This is a unique dining experience which I would definitely say 'Go For It', you will not be disappointed, the only disappointment is that you may have to wait a while to get a booking. Thank You Sonia and also not forgetting Alex for my wonderful birthday surprise dinner with my special friends. I will definitely be back with my husband. p.s For anyone reading this, this is fine dining with mid-range pricing, more than worth it.
