Cintia's Cafe

Heathrow Villages, Hillingdon
21/07/2020: Visited for brunch. Sat outside in aovy terrace area. My partner's poached eggs with bacon and avocado was superb and my full English 'Ansell's' breakfast among the best I've ever eaten. The black pudding was the proper stuff, the bacon thick cut and the egg yolks utterly orange with freshness. This isn't just a good casual restaurant for a garden centre, it would be stand-out anywhere.EV charging points in the free car park are a bonus for anyone headed out of town and wanting a quick top up; of battery and tummy.
16/07/2020: so fantastic you are now open again, after all the unprecedented times we have been living through. went for breakfast last sunday with my two friends, great meet up. had three different breakfasts between us. so moreish. we have missed this lovely place so much and all the staff. cant wait to start coming back on a regular basis which i will do, even if i am on my own. so lovely to visit and thankyou for the lovely food. hope everyone starts flooding back now.

Red Onion Cafe

West Ruislip, Hillingdon
12/07/2020: It was so good to be back at Red Onion again today following lockdown. The menu was fantastic. We chose the Brunch and The Meaty One, which was a cooked breakfast with bacon and sausages amongst other things. Really lovely friendly service too. The outside has been converted to accommodate more tables and the inside rearranged for social distancing purposes. Can’t wait to go back!
11/07/2020: I’ve been going to red onion for a while now and it really is one of the best places to eat in Ruislip, the food is always first class. During lockdown they offered takeaways and opened up as soon as they could safely, they take the safety of the staff and customers very seriously and make sure social distancing is followed. The staff are warm and super friendly and really make you feel so welcome. I would highly recommended this restaurant to anyone!!

The WatersEdge, Canal Cottages

Uxbridge South, Hillingdon, 30-45£
24/07/2020: Our first meal out after lockdown was amazing! We enjoyed our fresh food & drinks. Social distancing was done really well and staff were around to ensure that the one way system was being enforced. Lovely staff, beautiful view of the grand union canal and a great atmosphere! I will definitely be back again!
19/07/2020: I recently ordered the afternoon tea for delivery. It was so delicious, plenty to eat and would recommend it xx

Master Chef

Manor, Hillingdon
03/07/2020: Been coming to this place for years and their all day breakfast never disappoint :) The cafe is clean and service is superb

The Old Orchard

Harefield, Hillingdon
17/07/2020: Love going to this place the staff are friendly and the food is good. We were served by Jade today who was extremely helpful explaining the procedures of the restaurant and looking after us. All the staff wore face visors and kept the correct social distancing.
17/07/2020: No one knows whats happening. Stood their for ages where it said to wait and no one came out. Took around 25 mins to order food and servers kept just walking past us and serving others. Asked for the bill and that took 10 mins to arrive... I get things are slow atm but when other tables are being served and servers are walking around aimlessly ignoring plates that need clearing something needs to be done ...

The Plough

Heathrow Villages, Hillingdon
06/07/2020: Visited this pub twice now, when flying from Heathrow and staying at the Crown Plaza. So much better than eating at the hotel. You walk past the Novotel and under a road bridge to get to it but it's worth the walk. Proper real pub, staff and customers are friendly to non locals, with very good real ale and nice food at reasonable prices. And the beer is cheaper than at our local in Bristol! What's not to like!
14/03/2020: We frequently stay nearby if leaving from Heathrow and this is our goto place for a meal. The beer is excellent and the food high quality with a good choice.

Uxbridge South, Hillingdon
16/02/2020: Excellent restaurant/cafe. We’ve been coming here for years and it’s always great value for money, with very friendly staff.

Wheatsheaf Pub

Heathrow Villages, Hillingdon
18/02/2020: We wanted somewhere to watch football so we were pleased to find this pub.Frindly welcome from the young lady behind the bar.Locals were sat together chatting away oblivious to us sat under the huge TV which had a great picture. Definitely a strong smell of cooked meat which may not be appreciated by everyone.Wanted to give a 'Good' review but without that option we thought the pub was more average than very good.
14/02/2020: Had a not-too-early-morning flight out of LHR, and staying at an Ibis on the Bath Road. Went looking for a kebab place that we never found, and while the nearby tandoori place had a lot to recommend it, hadn't been to a chippy, and wanted one more pint of real ale before returning to the States. Turned out to be three, as the Wanderers/Man U FA Cup replay was compelling.Fish & Chips were, as advertised, really good, salad to match. Real ale completely drinkable. Busy night, but the barman, who took our orders, kept us fed and watered while taking care of his regulars (we were the only transients, and my wife the only woman, but we felt nothing but welcome). No room for the stone-cooked steak, but if I stay out in LHR again, I'll be back for that and a beer. Or three.

The George Harvester

West Ruislip, Hillingdon, >100£
02/08/2020: Bought my family for lunch the whole experience was very enjoyable . Chris and our waitress Sarah were fantastic chatty, checking up on us and clearly happy in their work, salad trip done professionally and food was great. Definitely be back
31/07/2020: Visited with a friend and received a great service from all staff, great environment and a lot of good banter. Food and drinks were great in the beer garden Lapping up the sun.

Queens Head

Uxbridge South, Hillingdon
08/03/2020: The Queens Head is a very friendly olde world pub, Barstaff very friendly and prices are really good.
24/02/2020: I have visited this pub on several occasions at different times and on different days and there is always a good feel about the place, with a good mix of ages present. There is a decent range of real ales on offer, which is well served.

Lock & Quay Bar/ Restaurant

Yeading, Hillingdon
26/07/2020: Birthday celebration for my daughter with some great friends. Service was excellent as was the food. Wonderful location with a fabulous view and chilled live music on a Sunday afternoon which was a bonus. Little gem hidden away in Yeading. Well worth a visit
24/07/2020: We have been coming to this lovely canalside venue for many years and decided to try it again post lockdown. The app was fairly easy to use to order and pay and the service was rapid. But...clearly they hadn't read the notes about ice with the drink which they quickly remedied. Service has always been friendly, tonight was no exception and their covid safety was excellent.I ordered chicken bites...which you may imagine was breaded chicken pieces ... unfortunately it was a small number of pieces of chicken smothered in at least vindaloo level of chili. Throat aflame, I downed my pint. I tried to wipe the lethal sauce off and tried one more piece. I couldn't tell you how it tasted, my taste buds were fried. Now I am sure many people would have enjoyed the tonsil trauma I endured, but it would really have been better to describe them as VERY HOT, not just 'Chicken Bites' , they certainly bit me !Lovely location, swans and herons, water and barges, but avoid this firecracker dish unless you have a cast iron throat and stomach, and get some moist toilet tissue at home!

Arens Bar Restaurant

Eastcote and East Ruislip, Hillingdon
04/03/2020: We went to Arens in Eastcote as part of a family group of 22 to celebrate my daughters 40th birthday. Whilst the car Park is not the largest there is street parking close by. We had been asked to order our meals in advance which we understood but on the actual day the designated waiter went round to each individual to confirm their order against his list. We were all given the option to change or add to our original order which was a great touch by the restaurant. Looking round the food appeared to be well received by everyone. I had the lamb and my wife had the beef and both came with Yorkshire puddings, vegetables and roast potatoes. Whilst the prices were a few pound dearer than some similar type restaurants , personally we felt that these meals were probably the best we had eaten for quite some time. My son had the full Ribs which were enormous and again he thought they were amongst the best he had eaten. At £22 the ribs were expensive but with all the meals I believe you got what you paid for. Drink prices were on a par with expectations and the staff sang a hearty happy birthday when they brought round my daughters birthday cake that we had supplied ourselves. Payment of the bill was simple as the waiter allowed each person or group to pay their own. I know my daughter enjoyed the whole experience and it’s a place that depending on your finances you go either regularly if you can or save up for a special occasion. Would thoroughly recommend this restaurant
21/02/2020: We had an amazing Valentine's Day when we arrived our table wasn't ready, we had to have a drink on the bar staff was welcoming and very friendly, shortly we were invited to move to our table, waiting staff was perfect we couldn task for more as well as the food, i most say for the busy night they had they couldn't do more to please everyone always with a smile and joking making all atmosphere very pleasant.

The Gorgeous Kitchen

Heathrow Villages, Hillingdon
14/07/2020: Nice English Breakfast in T2In December, we had more time on our hands, prior to our flight back to the USA, than we had planned on - everything went just perfectly, so after Security, we headed to The Gorgeous Kitchen, in the hub of the airside of Terminal 2.We were seated near the railing, overlooking the terminal below, or out of the large windows, at the tarmac. We quickly had the menu, and had made our decisions for breakfast, and also for wines, the Chapel Downs English Rose sparkler.I went with the English Breakfast, and my wife, a Cold-smoked Salmon w/ Scrambled Eggs. Both dishes were quite good, and I am glad that I did not “upgrade” to the TGR Breakfast, as I had more than enough to eat, as it was. Each item was very good, and that for both dishes. The service was also very good, at quite attentive, and we wanted for nothing. While not the least expensive of dining in T2, I felt that it was a good value, and was surprised a bit, at how well-prepared the food was, given that it was an airport restaurant. We will be back, and not just for the attractive and convenient venue, but also for the food.
09/06/2020: Walked in for some dinner just before the world stopped! I have finally found the chance to write this review after my partner and myself remember what a disaster this place was. We walked in just before 20:00 and the place was dead was shown to a table by the window and the place had a chilled vibe to it ordered a very expensive mediocre glass of wine from our waiter who was the highlight of the dinner as he was polite and checked to see if we had a nice tome throughout the time we spent in this place. All good until the gunk that’s is passed for food arrived! We ordered the soup and salmon for starters both portions minimal and no flavours very badly seasoned by a chef that obviously has no passion for his food and is tasting before he sends plates out. We thought maybe the mains could save the day but what came next was the TGK burger (puke) a crusty almost charcoaled bun with an equally burnt party of the Tesco everyday quality with half a slice of cheese and some chips that they somehow managed to undercook! All off this cost us almost 90 quid. We felt sorry for the serving staff as they had to receive our sarcastic comments in the quality of the food. The person serving us said he would pass the feedback on to his manager who never appeared (probably embarrassed from the outrageous price they charge for food that my 10 year old son can probably do a better job cooking).

Huxley's Bar & Kitchen

Heathrow Villages, Hillingdon
11/04/2020: The food served in this medium-priced bar/restaurant exceeded my expectations - probably the best, when compared with similar food outlets I’ve used recently at Terminal 5. The staff are particularly pleasant and helpful, when you consider the high throughput. Typical menu prices are: All Day Breakfast £13.95, Fish and Chips £14.95 and Chilli con Carne (recommended) at £13.95

The Crown Rivers

Heathrow Villages, Hillingdon, <20£
04/08/2020: I was here today to have some food as there are not many places open at the airport yet. Staff was fairly friendly but wasnt too helpful. My leg is injured and I am alone so I asked the staff for a straw and some mayo and I have been told to go to the cupboard and take it for myself, after that my food arrived and it was cold..The cherry on the top was when I saw the cutlery they brought me.. Another experience to remind me why NOT to choose wetherspoon.
15/04/2020: As Crown Rivers, seating was packed like sardines with staff doing amazingly well to bounce between points
