Wow. Friendly staff. Food was amazing. We had the burger, scampi and fish and chips. Delicious food. Excellent value for money. This wasn't our first visit and will definitely not be our last. This is my favourite place to eat. Well stocked bar. Something for everyone.

Popped in for a pint yesterday afternoon after a lovely coastal walk. Abbot Ale was on tap, but sadly in very poor condition and a very cloudy pint. Wish I took it back and complained now but was rather settled in the sunny back garden. Wish pubs who serve ales looked after them properly, and checked the quality before serving it to paying customers @ £4.80 a pint!

We decided to try here after seeing the proprietor of Moor Hall (a Michelin starred chef) rave about this place. We visited on an early Friday afternoon, expecting to have missed the lunchtime rush. There were two tables available, all the rest full, and we clearly got there just in time, as there was then a queue of people awaiting to be seated. Just in time indeed! Our order was taken promptly by the waitress, and our meals appeared very quickly, piping hot and full of flavour. I went for the haddock with chips and mushy peas, my OH for the cod with chips and peas. It's incredible value for money as it is, coming with a round of buttered bread and a drink, but it genuinely is one of the best 'chippy teas' I've had, and the cost is probably cheaper than my local chippy! The flavour is brilliant. I genuinely can't see how anyone can complain for the quality of ingredients you get, for the price you're paying. If you're in the area, give it a whirl. If you're not in the area, make the trip anyway. It's very much worthwhile.

We eat here at least once a week and at times this can be up to 3 time as the food is just so delicious, fresh, home cooked and healthy! (depending on the choice!) The atmosphere is always great, and the staff could not be lovelier - This is our go to place and has been for years, I recommend them to all my family, friends and co workers on a regular basis

What an amazing tardis of a place which draws you in with its thatched roof and promise of Wight shaped scones. It has extensive seating both inside and outside with an adjacent council car park. Bit pricey to park there ☹️. Visited three times:lunch, afternoon visit and early evening meal. There is a small bar inside and this room is the lively one in terms of engaging in conversation with one of the owners or other guests. The menu is varied and everything is freshly cooked. The scones are light and fluffy!! It is very easy to eat a lot here 😀 Very easy to reach by bus and a wee walk from the station We thoroughly enjoyed visiting.

A friend and I met up here lunch here recently. Neither of us had been for a while and both of us were very impressed with the additions - extended car park and stunning conservatory. The atmosphere is very relaxing. Even though it was busy the service was great without being obtrusive. As always the food was of good quality and presentation excellent. Look forward to visiting again.

Fantastic authentic Dales pub. We are regulars here, nothing better than a drink and a meal here after a long day hiking in the Dales. The pub is charming, food delicious, and staff are absolutely amazing. Every time we visit, we have such a good laugh with the staff. Definitely one of the best pubs around!

A big thank you to Emma-Jayne, Michal and the team for the lovely birthday celebration meal that we had today 8/4/2025. The food was delicious and everyone really enjoyed it. Emma-Jayne and our waitress were very friendly and attentive. We had such a lovely afternoon, thank you so much. John especially appreciated the hand written "Happy Birthday" message on his desert.
