We were looking for somewhere to eat on a wet Sunday afternoon and this was the closest place on the map. What a find! It's hard to find a proper cosy café serving excellent food and drinks these days but this place is one of them! Friendly and attentive staff greeted us as we entered and served us quickly and politely. We ordered drinks and the Toronto Toast which was well worth the price. Don't be put off by the small appearance as you enter as there is extra seating upstairs. Definitely one to return to when we next find ourselves in the area.

This was very good. Decent coffee (surprisingly hard to find nearby) and a very interesting and enjoyable take on Bloody Mary. The food is brunch/sandwich/tater tots with things on top orientated, and well done. Bahn mi was a creditable version - maybe the baguette wasn’t your typical Viet one and maybe the carrots were chunky, but it was really well balanced and very tasty (and actually very good value for money). Pastries were also really good, and there was a very happy buzz about the place. Of the three of us, I don’t like eggs and one doesn’t like anything remotely chili hot, so that does cut choice down quite a lot, but I’d be back quick as a shot. That said, we all loved what we had and it’s absolutely worth a trip. You can eat really good stuff here watching everyone going to the pub over the road for their (I say from experience!) poor quality Sunday lunch feeling happy that you’ve found somewhere much, much better.

Had a great night last night at one of their 'Paint along with Bob Ross' evenings. 7pm to 10pm on the first Friday of each month. Provided with great atmosphere, all paint materials and a meat and cheese platter during the break. Brilliant thank you 😊

Salt's food is always amazing and so different to what you could normally get in a cafe - you can tell the menu has really been made with a lot of love and care. The staff are always really lovely and accommodating to my allergies even when its packed at the seams busy. Hidden gem of a restaurant that I'm always recommending out to people!

The French toast is a culinary masterpiece, with its golden-brown exterior and fluffy interior, it's a delightful symphony of flavour and texture.

food of choice : No matter if the menu changes, i will Always choose the French Toast option that is always available in the current seasonal menu. Ive tried various versions of the French Toast so far and they have always been a filling option for me. Every French Toast has came with a variety of Berries (Blueberries+Blackberries+Rasberries), along with maple syrup, Bacon and sometimes honeycomb butter [Depending on Menu at the time]. Theres a large variety of drinks and coffees to choose from. environment: Indoors is a very comfortable cozy seating area with paintings hung upon the wall of various designs, including a few shelves of ingredients to use at home (From the meals in the menu) and some merch. The best place to sit in my opinion is the front window where theres a collection of books and plants. Upstairs has two separate rooms with lovely window lighting. staff : the staff are friendly and have a well mind of what the food tastes like when asked, which has helped me decide what food is right for me. I believe the kitchen staff are Goblins. 11/10 experience, quite the magical place 🦚

This is such a lovely place to eat, their menus are incredibly innovative and well thought through and each dish is a masterpiece on its own. Coffee is superb and you can buy the beans to take home as an added bonus. We breakfast here regularly and nothing compares to it, needless to say I would highly recommend Salt of the Earth.

This is thr first time I've visited Salt of the Earth since it was taken over - which I know was a long time ago now! It's always hard to take over an established business but, if anything, I think the food is even better now! The flavours and combinations were absolutely gorgeous, with huge portions - I had to take half of mine home and the drinks were delicious too. My husband had a breakfast bloody Mary which was beautifully presented and tasted amazing. Service was also fab, with lovely, friendly staff. Can't wait to go back!

Been here few times for lunch and loved it went mother's day breakfast disastrous and my children came from Altrincham to treat me it was too busy overbooked waited for table menu not great I had a bacon sandwich which was in edible dried up streaky bacon on brioche stale bun spice on everything else and over priced at £75 for 3 adults 3 children under 5 🤔

Went for the first time since the new owners took over and we were blown away. The food was stunning and although not the biggest menu, there is a great variety of different breakfast options. Salt hash was fabulous and the Toronto toast to die for. Has to be the only place to go to for breakfast from now on.

RATING FROM A GLUTEN FREE POV we ate here recently after my husband found their Instagram page - they were very quick to respond to us regarding gluten free options, even including a picture of the menu with marked items. When we arrived we asked again about gluten free options and were told how those options work (only frying gluten free stuff for example, gluten free bread options etc.) and they also explained their cross contamination risk - as a food is prepped in the same small kitchen. I ordered Bagel Tots which were genuinely one of the nicest things I’ve EVER put in my mouth, my husband had one of their amazing sounding sandwich options. We also enjoyed a tea and coffee. The food, service, atmosphere, everything was just bloody brilliant. Only wish I lived closer so that I could eat Tots every day for the rest of my life. Bear in mind parking is limited and the venue is fairly small and only opens certain days of the week. Also, how can a venue offering Bob Ross paint along themed meat and cheese nights ever be faulted?

Initially I was a bit unsure a it was a very cold morning & it looked drab & felt really cold but they staff was really welcoming & after a very nice decaf coffee then a delicious Braised rib eye & cheese on sourdough sandwich my opinion changed 100% I can't stop thinking about how delicious it was the food & the place. ❤

Lovely first experience. Not had chance to visit since it’s swapped hands. Menu is absolutely brilliant - someone has definitely spent a lot of time putting it together. Both of our dishes were amazing! Flavourful and fresh. Coffee was superb and the girl serving us was very helpful and friendly. Will definitely be back to try some other menu items😍

Got there at 0900 this morning and ordered a hot salmon bagel (as it stated on the menu) And a sausage pattie bagle…..i waited 25mins For both bagels, the salmon one was that cold It could have just come out of an Eskimo's pocket! So I paid £21.42 for two coffees and two bagels I You're a little cafe in Carlton so why do you charge the earth for poor-quality produce !

Small but lovely cafe we visited as a family of 3 for lunch today whilst on holiday. We had the carbonara tater tots and chicken baguette, along with kids French toast - all lovely and tasty. Managed to squeeze in a lemon meringue cupcake, which was so good! It's worth a visit if you're in the area.

Had an amazing breakfast with my birthday vouchers today. The food as always was amazing & all the staff really welcoming & friendly . Can't wait to visit the new gallery when it's open. It looks amazing . Thankyou so much for a wonderful start to the day 😃

Peter piper picked a pepper and my food was yummy scrummy dumptious, I had an egg with a banana (I loved the addition of a Diet Coke). I would recommend the banana bread because banana is too good like peely from fortnite. 👍

I have visited Salt Of The Earth twice, for breakfast and for afternoon burgers. Both times the food was amazing. Each time the presentation of the food is excellent and it even tastes better than it looks. I look forward to visiting again and trying more options from the menu. I would highly recommend.

Wow!! My daughter and I both went last Saturday for breakfast: simply wonderful so went on the Sunday as well 😃 No disappointment! Could go all week to try different dishes. Really lovely and worth every penny

Didn’t realise this had changed owners. Ordered 2 ‘bispham bangers’ at the weekend and received the new ‘salt bangers.’ No mention of this on the phone when I specifically ordered ‘bispham bangers.’ I’m actually intolerant to eggs so was hugely disappointed to see a completely different ‘banger’ than what I expected with a cracked fried egg and yolk all over it. I wasn’t going to leave a review as I don’t like to be negative but it genuinely was a waste of almost £20 and no mention on the phone that they no longer serve bispham bangers & instead was given the salt ones. It’s poor customer service and I won’t be placing another again unfortunately.

So so lucky to have this place as a local option for amazing quality food and great service. Few years ago (before the current owners) things could feel a little hectic, but now they have got everything absolutely nailed. It’s truly brilliant food and worth every penny. Just go… you won’t be disappointed.

Our first visit, we understand that it’s under new management from earlier this summer. Pre-Christmas meet-up with friends. Fabulous food and the current Christmas menu has plenty to suit all tastes and diets. I had the Full Christmas, as did one of our friends, with The Mariah, the Hemingway Holiday and a side of Tater Tots also chosen. The cafe is not overly big, perhaps eight tables for four and a couple of twos. The “upstairs” was brought into use for the overflow - it was packed and tables refilled as they cleared. Service was warm and friendly and the food was top-notch. My meal was the nicest breakfast/brunch I’ve had in a very long time. Four of us had one course and drinks for £55. Can’t fault that! Do visit - but make sure you pre-book a table. If we lived closer I’d be wanting to investigate their various evening special events.

Food and coffee is out of this world. We’ve been coming here for a few years but since they’ve come under new owners the quality of the menu and ingredients has increased massively. Definitely one of our all time favourite spots. 10/10

I was working very close to this lovely cafe last week and was recommended by a colleague to come here. Well all I can say is I am glad she did. I walked in and the atmosphere was lovely and it was busy.....which is always a good sign that a place is good. The girls that took my order were very friendly and I asked them if they could drop it off a few doors down as I was working there and they kindly did. I ordered a Lisa the vegetarian baguette (I can't remember exactly what it is called but it was vegan). It was so tasty and filling. I did initially think it was an expensive lunch but when I saw it, I changed my mind and thought it was definitely worth the £7.99ish that I paid. I am working nearby again this week so I might have to go back to taste something else on the menu as it all looked amazing.

I've been a few times since the new owners have moved in, I'm Glad to see they've kept that original warm welcome feel you get everytime you walk through their front door... and the bispham banger 😍 Their first cheese and wine night was incredible, long may they continue! and I do hear that they might be adding a few more evening events aswel! The BEST sandwiches in Poulton-Le-Fylde and such a lovely setting. I've loved it for years but possibly even more so since it changed hands, the specials are always to die for and you can't beat a Bispham Banger. I've also been to one of their cheese and wine nights which was AMAZING and such good value for money

First time since it changed hands and it was absolutely brilliant. Menu was always amazing here, well now it’s next level. The old favourites still on there, but some really interesting and well thought through new dishes. Brilliant friendly service and really good value.

I went for the 1st time since changed hands (previously only been a couple of times) on Saturday morning, will def be returning! The food combos are fabulous and just reading the menu makes your mouth water! There were 4 of us and we all had different breakfasts from the 9am onwards menu… My son has a lactose intolerance and they ensured there was no milk or milk derived products in his meal….. not a morsel was left by anyone. The drinks were very nice too (my only tiny issue is I personally would have liked a larger coffee or an option to order one) We also ordered banana bread to take away as one in my party said it was to die for, she wasn’t wrong. I will definitely be returning & bringing friends, my son and daughter-in-law (who are both big foodies) have been a few times so I know they will be returning too. Well worth a visit, not the cheapest but well worth it and like the saying goes you pay for what you get. Which in this instance was Delicious Food and atmosphere 5*

Never been before, it was a very pleasant experience. The cafe itself is nicely decorated and has a very nice welcoming atmosphere. The staff were very helpful and apologetic for the slight delay in service.....the place was absolutely packed though. The menu was simple but very appealing. We had two Bispham burgers that were absolutely lovely. Would definitely visit again. The price for two drinks and burgers came to £20. Not bad for the quality and pleasant experience.

After changing hands, we were naturally worried as we have been going to SALT for over 10 years. Little did we know the new guys would give it the va va voom SALT had all those years ago from day one. Danielle, Thea and the team make sure you are comfortable, well fed and certainly enjoy the experience. What I've enjoyed is seeing the new team sprinkle a little fairy dust on the already delicious menu by adding their own little something something. What more can you ask? Thea and her sweet treats will most certainly keep you coming back for more. We had a range of puddings: banana loaf, tea loaf (GF), brownies (vg) and a cherry tart. My sister is a vegan and as someone who has followed the vegan lifestyle CAKES CAN BE SO SLOPPY and brownies so dry. These were so delicious (I hate the word) but so moist! My partner had: the tots with lemon aioli and the Perky Pig and I had the Vegan's revenge. Really cannot wait to see what else Team SALT does. Absolutely magic team! Top job guys.

Great customer service Visited for brunch with a friend. First visit under new management at Salt. Menu and specials board packed with imaginative options. We ordered apple pancakes. When they arrived they were served with maple streaky bacon.... unfortunately my friend is a vegetarian!! Totally our fault as we hadn’t read the specials board properly. We were really impressed with the way they dealt with it......our server couldn’t had be nicer, apologised (even though it was our mistake) took the portion away and rushed through a replacement for my friend. They added extra apple to make up for the bacon. It was absolutely delicious and the coffee was great too. We were very impressed with the customer service, food was fab and we will be calling again soon. Thanks Team Salt.

Visited here whilst on an appointment in the area looked great and busy which is a good sign, however after ordering my Cortado I asked for sweetener due to me being diabetic unfortunately they don’t offer them as a sugar replacement! I never heard of this before so needless to say I won’t be visiting here again and if by a remote chance I do I will bring a sweetener so I can enjoy my coffee. Note to owners get some sweetened they are only 99p in home bargains.

Top tier coffee and welcoming service

I came with family on Sunday morning. We had K Tots, children’s tots and a bispham banger. All the food was absolutely delicious, also the peach iced tea was a perfect refreshment for the warm weather.

Totally first class venue for excellent food. The service is very good. The Bispham banger is outstanding, try it and thank me later

Bispham Banger.... the only sandwich you will ever need...

My faviroute place for brekkie only reason for 4 stars is our fav bacon banana and maple syrup wasn't on menu..apart from that delicious as always

Was poor service. Sat upstairs. Food wasn't good. One lad running up n downstairs with 1 meal at a time. Then waited cutlery. Bacon on toast was 3 pieces bacon burnt on 1 slice bread. Poached eggs hard. Use to be lovely but I'm afraid we won't be returning.

Great food ideas. Nice quaint premises and great staff. Very much recommended and it's a regular treat venue for us.

Came for breakfast with my family. The staff had saved us a good spot incase we struggled with the pushchair which was appreciated. Breakfast was fab, very American so something different. Not been for a while but still as good as every other visit!
