Went with a friend for their festive afternoon tea. What a treat, the food was fab, pigs in blankets, brie wedges with cranberry dip, turkey and stuffing sandwiches were my favourite savoury's. The christmas tree shaped chocolate cake was delicious, plenty more sweet delights with cute reindeer and snowman fancies too. It was very busy, but we didn't feel rushed. The food was very freshly made. the service was great, and the atmosphere was friendly. Couldn't quite eat it all, so I brought home a doggy bag. Would definitely recommend it, but please be warned to book in advance, Light Ash Farm is very popular.

Been trying to get here for ages to use my birthday vouchers. So today was the day with a last minute decision made. Oooooo I tried the hot chicken & bacon salad for lunch today. Best I have ever had - loads of tender chicken, nicely cooked bacon and a dressing to die for. Will be back for it again. And thank you so much for my hubby’s healthy home cooked ham salad - he’s not a salad person but yours with lovely potato salad, coleslaw and thick cut ham was very acceptable 😊

Great find, the most amazing cakes and ice cream! Good attentive service! Tried the breakfast sandwich, excellent quality sausages, bacon and eggs, bread far too thick for my liking, tried to ask for non- doorstep but still got the whopping slices, wasted most of it.

Lovely tearoom but not just for afternoon tea although they did look fantastic. The new yorker wraps and chips were excellent, and the mocha coffee the nicest ive had in a long time. It's a bit out of the way but well worth the visit and plenty of people seek it out so it must be good. The cake selection is awsome. And you can take cakes home.2

This is a lovely place especially on a sunny day. We have been before and never had any issues however unfortunately today it wasn’t as good. My wife’s apple in her Ploughman’s still had the sticker on, and the salad leaves were wilted and sad looking. Further, my wife noticed that one of the cakes in the counter was mouldy. She told the waitress and the waitress responded that it was not mould but pear. My wife replied that it certainly seemed like mould, but the waitress seemed neither concerned nor thankful for us pointing it out. These things happen, but I would have expected a better response. Such a shame for such a lovely place!

We travelled out to Light Ash Farm after a few recommendations from friends. The cafe is located in the countryside on a working farm, so is very picturesque. The inside is also nicely done and feels very cosy. We were seated quickly on arrival, but it was about ten minutes before our order was taken. We were warned there was a wait on food, which was fine as the staff were dealing with a very large table, but I assumed our drinks would be brought while we waited (especially as they were just two soft drinks). However, we waited another 20 minutes for these. They were presented to the table with the drinks still their original bottle and can, stood inside a drinking glass - it was a two second job to prepare them, so I do feel these should have been brought more quickly for a better customer experience. Food then took another ten minutes, but was tasty and made with good quality produce, well cooked and presented. We then decided we would have cake, but again had to wait for service - we had to attract the attention of the staff to take our order, as they were having a chat and didn’t seem to notice we had finished. Cakes were brought promptly after ordering, and again were tasty (there was a great selection to choose from). During our wait for food, the kitchen prepared a large bowl of chips to be used for the afternoon teas. At least two staff dipped their hand into the bowl and took a chip on their way past. Harmless enough, but not particularly hygienic. I would return for the nice food but I do think the service leaves a lot to be desired. Granted, it was weekend and a very warm day, and there was a large party in - so staff were busy. Maybe they needed more of them if the large parties take so much attention?

Booked afternoon tea for 2pm. Sat down just after and took 45 minutes to get a few drinks. Food arrived 30 minutes later. Surely if it's pre-booked it should be served pretty much straight away? The afternoon tea was nothing special. £18 per person, what a waste of money. Also, if there's more than one afternoon tea on the table, everyone should be getting the same cakes etc, not a random selection. Anyway, we won't be going back.

Visited with two friends, we’d pre-booked the afternoon tea. When we arrived the cafe was busy - a good sign! And we were seated quickly. Ordered our hot drinks and promptly brought our afternoon tea. Sandwiches were ham, tuna mayo & cheese savoury served on nice thick bread cut into finger slices. Scones were freshly baked and really tasty served with clotted cream and strawberry jam. Free refills were offered on tea and filter coffee which we made use of before attempting to eat some of the delicious cakes: vanilla slice, white chocolate millionaire’s shortbread, meringue, and more. We were so full we couldn’t finish it off, but the staff kindly brought us some boxes so we could take the remaining cakes home. Thoroughly enjoyable visit, we’ll be back again to try the main menu food which looked lovely.

Very disappointing, poor quality food and rude, ignorant and arrogant manager. We booked afternoon tea for my wife's birthday and asked if we could upgrade to a picnic bench. We were told this was fine and would not be a problem. It came it and was underwhelming to say the least. Soup came with no spoons - We asked twice for them and they never arrived. By the time somebody came over to check it had gone cold. We were offered extra chips instead! The main problem though was that everyone else who ordered after is git a much better standard of food including better looking sandwiches, pork pie and wraps - we didn't get these. The 'cakes' we got were dreadful and nothing like the photos or like everyone else got - see photo. Manager said it was our fault for ordering late and they shouldn't really have housed our request! No redund offered and manager was incredibly rude and arrogant via email and just repeated that it was out fault for ordering. Light Ash Farm ruined my wife's birthday.

Ok so not your normal review ! I just wanted to compliment the manager/owner for what was a horrible situation, most definitely not her fault . I sat outside with a friend and there was another table of older gentleman, one of which was exceptionally horrid to a young girl that was working there not in the cafe but on the farm itself , I don’t know exacting what he said but she was so upset she was crying and she ran off . Just a few minutes later a young lady I presume to be the manager or owner appeared and and confronted the man apologising for the noise that had apparently been the problem but reminding him it was a working farm with working machinery , to which he replied use a sweeping brush ! She kept completely cool and calm and told him politely she would not let anyone speak to a member of her staff in such a vile way particularly when all she was doing was her job , the guy then continued to call her some very abusive names , again she stayed calm offered them there money back asking them to leave and not to come back ! I hope she reads this , you were so professional and calm to what I can only describe as a disgusting human being , so well done and if by chance the guy in question reads this you should be ashamed of yourself! Ps . Your carrot cake was delicious and your staff delightful, can’t wait to come back x

I Organised a baby shower here for my friend, emailed to book it without issue, asked to be seated in a specific part of the cafe which was facilitated. Opted for the baby shower afternoon tea which was a nice little added touch. The afternoon tea was lovely, I know some people have complained about the lack of savoury items but the sandwiches were enough so we still had plenty of room for all that cake! On the bottom tier there were 4 fingers of ham, egg and tuna (2 fingers each) amounting to a sandwich and a half each. Then some crisps. The ham, egg and tuna were all tasty. On the Second tier was two large pieces of lemon cake which was lovely, two baby shower themed brownie balls, two fruit tarts, two double meringues with cream and two chocolate chip cupcakes. Top tier was the scones. This to us, was plenty to eat and we all had cake left over which we took away. The staff were lovely, the lady came round numerous times checking we were okay and had enough drinks etc. Not sure what people expect for £20pp but I’ve been for numerous afternoon teas and this was one of the best. Lovely setting in a farm with plenty of places to park. I will continue to come back, the food is lovely and the staff are friendly, they try their best to please everyone.

Waiting for better weather and time off work, lovely rural setting we found the farm no problem and we were met with a smile by a member of staff and we were advised to go through to the cafe and we would be shown our seats.we had booked good idea if your looking to treat yourselves even, a lady showed us to our seats we ordered tea and we were pleasantly surprised to find it was free refills another bonus.after a little wait our afternoon tea arrived wow it looked amazing beautiful fresh sandwiches which my husband announced that the ham was gorgeous! Various fillings. 2 huge slices of carrot cake, chocolate slices, amazing vanilla slices, almond slices, fresh scones with jam and cream. We couldn’t actually finish it but when I asked a take way box was provided. We went to Light Ash cafe this morning for drinks and cake which were quite nice. I queried the bill as it was just over £16 for two hot drinks and two cakes. I was then told my frangipane tart, which tasted overpoweringly of almond essence and not ground almonds as it should have done, was £5.50, and my husband's piece of lemon cake was £6.60. We found these prices far too expensive and will not be returning.

We have been here many times in the past but haven't been for quite a while. We came for lunch on Friday and it was very busy so we had to sit upstairs. Our order was taken quite quickly but we then had a long wait for the food to arrive. When it came, it was on plates which were far too small which made it difficult to eat. I had asked for the bacon in my panini to be well done but the fat was still white so I had to start taking it all apart to remove the fat. My husband had a small piece of tomato in his side salad but I actually didn't have any! It was mainly leaves! However, the worst part was when we had to pay. There was a very long queue of people waiting for takeaways and, when I asked where to pay, I was told quite abruptly to join the end of that queue. There was one till and one lady who was not only manning the till but who was also cutting the cakes and serving all the takeaways. I must have waited 20 minutes just to pay for our meals!! This is a ridiculous system but I know why they do it. You have to walk past all the cakes while you are queuing and they are hoping that you will buy some to take home. We will not be returning!!

Fabulous tasty varied breakfast served with a smile. This lovely, friendly bookshop cafe is a fabulous idea. Welcoming to everyone. Whether just visiting for a bit of company and a chat or a full plate breakfast. Or maybe pop in and read a book or 2. Our breakfast was freshly cooked, well presented and delicious. The best we have had in some time. The lovely ladies running this shop are most kind and helpful. Our gsd Sadie Wag Wag was made most welcome too. We have already recommended this place to friends and will be dining there again very soon.

Friday night takeaway. I had:- Original Munch Box £14 Burgers served in a toasted brioche bun Homemade 4.5 oz smashed burgers American cheese, lettuce, crispy onions, chef’s burger sauce Salt & Pepper Chips Breaded Mozzarella Sticks (V) Beer Battered Onions Rings (V) Sweet Chilli Dipping Pot All beautifully cooked & tasted amazing, good size portion too. My wife had New Yorker burger & she said it was lovely. If you want a Friday night takeaway, you’ll need to book in advance as it’s busy! Best cafe / takeaway in Garstang!
