Fabulous Sunday Roast - Cauliflower cheese is best I ever had. Staff were rushed off their feet but still so friendly and nothing was too much trouble.

Fantastic atmosphere, friendly staff and really nice Sunday roasts that go the extra mile. It’s also not far from a lovely walk up leckhampton hill. Looking forward to going back.

Decent place for a decent pint. I recommended the place for friends to visit, but the 'sheef wasn't serving food. There's a link to a website on their Google page, but it doesn't work. Please update your links amigos!

I just love this pub. Its a hidden gem in my opinion. The food is amazing, the staff are welcoming and so friendly. I have yet to try the Sunday Roast but 100% will be soon.

I've been to this pub twice now, most recently last Saturday early evening. Family of 4 (inc. 2 very young kids) and the food has been excellent. The staff very helpful and beer was superb too. Great garden / play area for the kids. It's fast becoming a favourite of ours. Highly recommended.

Really had a great Bank Holiday Sunday nite,they had 2 bands playing, The Bridge and Breaking the Seal, the Wheatsheaf was very busy with is understandable.

Went for food with a friend and ordered the tomohawk steak from their specials board and it was the most amazing steak I’ve ever had. Service was fantastic as always and eating food in their large and well looked after beer garden was just wonderful. Will definitely continue to return for both food and drinks.

Great pub with a lovely garden, we stopped in towards the end of our 10 mile walk around Leckhampton Hill, and it was a very welcome refreshment break! good selection of beverages, and friendly service.

Love going here when I visit family. It's a great place to go to, especially if you have children as there is an outdoor play area. Service is really good & the good was excellent.

One of the best pubs in Cheltenham. Great vibe, beer and events. You can also hire out the old skittle alley as a function room. Huge south facing garden with private heated pods and huge garden with a kid friendly area Plays key sport games, and have I mentioned the food yet?! Amazing! But don't eat the buffalo chicken burger - I WANT THEM ALL!

Big table Bank Holiday Monday lunchtime. Excellent food and excellent service. Especially the young blonde female waitress - so helpful, attentive and professional. Lovely atmosphere all staff really friendly. BEAUTIFUL bear garden. Hats off to the kitchen staff too because all the food on our table (9 of us) all came out together and was delicious, hot, fresh and big portions!

Staff were friendly and accommodating, a great selection of drinks and a little play area for the kids 👌 the side building (old skittle alley) is a wonderful space to hire for events that includes a bar also! 100% recommended

This place caters for all. You can sit inside in the bar/restaurant, or you can sit in the garden. You can get the best of both worlds by using the covered outdoor area with individual tables each separated by a low wall and you own electric heater. The beer is good and often they do a special coffee and cake deal. The staff are very friendly.

We have a son with a disability so is a wheelchair user. We are so very lucky to have this pub on the doorstep! On this occasion there were 9 adults and 6 children!! The staff couldn’t have been more helpful. The food was lovely and we loved being able to spend quality time all together. A huge thank you! You have no idea how difficult it can be with a disabled person and you were all so welcoming and helpful.

Very nice pub, they do a decent pint of Guinness and the food is excellent too. They have a large beer garden at the back where you can sit and eat and drink and catch up with your friends and family.

Sunday Lunch is expensive ,but usually worth every penny ,sadley ,not this time ,we were dissapointed .Mean portions ,had to ask for the veg as it didnt arrive ,then a stingey amount for two people. Won't go again .

The best Sunday roast I’ve had in ages! Brilliant service and amazing food, I honestly can’t recommend it enough. We went with our 2.5 year old and 10 month old and felt very welcome.

El área al aire libre es realmente buena, con mucho espacio y un bar al aire libre para pedir bebidas. También brindan servicio de mesa que fue rápido y eficiente.La comida en sí era muy sabrosa. El personal era tan fabuloso y amable como siempre y el asado de rosbif era increíble. Derretir en la boca carne, yorkie enorme y asados adecuados. Verduras frescas perfectamente cocidas y el mejor queso de coliflor de todos los tiempos. . . con azotes de sabroso cementerio. Este es, con mucho, el mejor y más consistente lugar de Cheltenham. Es nuestro favorito de la familia. Gracias por la cálida bienvenida. . . Nos vemos de nuevo pronto.

I come here a few times a year with St Peters mens group. Today I had a delicious pulled pork burger with sweet potato fries. Decent price, great pub and good service.

Our Sunday roast was simply the tastiest roast we have ever paid for! The meat was tender, the roast potatoes were just the right crunchiness, whilst tasting of the meat, the delicious veg was perfectly cooked.

La comida no podía ser criticada; delicioso, cocinado a la perfección y muy bien presentado. Después, optamos por un pudín de caramelo pegajoso y un desorden Eton de plátano y maracuyá, que sonaba un poco extraño, pero pensamos que lo probaríamos, ¡oh, mi palabra, fue ridículamente bueno! Disfrutamos mucho de nuestra comida, pero sabes lo que se agregó a toda la experiencia. . . I come here a few times a year to join the men's group from St Peters Church. Always have a good guest ale and nice atmosphere.

We live nearby and had a great time at their recent code & beer festival. The food, music & atmosphere was superb. Ronnie and his team are relaxed & welcoming. The festival was a sea of families, dancing & fun.

Festival de la cerveza estaba en un ambiente tan grande y una buena variedad de cervezas y sidras. No probamos la comida pero volveríamos otra vez.

Pasé aquí para almorzar con familiares antes del bautizo de mi nieto un sábado. El aspecto exterior del pub es más bien mediocre, con estacionamiento limitado en el patio. Pero por dentro nos dieron una bienvenida muy cálida por parte del amable propietario: bebimos buena cerveza y vino y la comida de la estufa de leña era excelente. Elección de la comida era muy buena, con una serie de opciones especiales para vegetarianos y el estándar de comida era excelente para un pub de la ciudad.

This is the 3rd time I have come here for a men's group evening and enjoy the guest ales and general atmosphere of this pub. I look forward to returning in the spring. And trying the menu with the wife too.

We had the roast beef. It was perfectly pink and succulent. Roast parsnips and potatoes crispy by soft inside. Wonderfully rich gravy and of course a perfect Yorkshire pud. Great service wuth a smile. Could not have been better! We will be back😁

Si quiere comida casera de buena calidad, vaya a The Wheatsheaf. Además, el bar con la estufa de leña lo convirtió en un lugar acogedor para una noche salvaje y ventosa.

Había un grupo de 8 de nosotros y, a pesar de haber visitado un par de veces recientemente para las bebidas, no habíamos comido allí durante unos meses. ¡Había olvidado lo buenos que son sus asados! Había una opción de 3 carnes y una opción vegetariana. La mayoría de nosotros optamos por la carne que se derretía en la boca tierna, y veníamos con una buena selección de verduras, además de papas asadas muy suaves en el interior y un enorme pudin de Yorkshire hecho en casa. El verdadero comienzo del espectáculo, sin embargo, fue la salsa, que era tan deliciosa que quería robar la receta. La mayoría de nosotros optamos por un pudín también y mi pudín de toffee pegajoso fue fenomenal. También hay un ambiente muy agradable y acogedor en este pub, con cervezas bien conservadas (el 6 X de Wadworth es un favorito en particular). No pasará mucho tiempo antes de que comamos allí de nuevo. Muy recomendable.

Had a quick meal here and the service was impeccable and very swift. Not a busy evening yet I was in for just before 7 and lovely relaxed atmosphere. Thanks for making me feel so welcome and would happily return if back in the area.

This is a little hidden gem in Leckhampton, We booked in advance which you really do have to do as it's so popular with those in the know! When we needed to change the time of our booking the staff were incredibly helpful.

We chose The Wheatsheaf for Sunday lunch as the sun was shining and the garden is rather lovely. There was a warm welcome from the bar staff as we chose our drinks. We settled in the garden and there was a TV to watch the Wimbledon final as we chilled out in the sunshine.There was a mixture of families with young children and couples with dogs in the garden. We were pleased to find that the "normal" menu was on offer as although the roasts are amazing, it was too hot for a full on Sunday roast. We ordered a selection of small dishes including olives, biltong, and cheese stuffed peppers. I had the chicken, pesto, and mozzarella burger and triple cooked chips. We were not disappointed! It was all beautifully cooked and presented. The service was excellent and the choice of beers, ciders and wines was extensive. There was a children's party in the function room and it sounded like they were having great fun!! The loos were clean and there is a disabled loo easily available. I would thoroughly recommend this family friendly pub.

We have lived on the Old Bath Road in Cheltenham for many years and never been in the Wheatsheaf. That was a mistake.

I had the one of the best roast dinners in my life at this beautiful little pub nestled in Leckhampton.

Meal well served. Soup with chunks of bread was what was needed on a cold day. My wife had chicken and bacon sandwich which was too much for her - so I had to finish it off. Good choice of Wadsworth beers.

Working away from home and not familiar with the area, I came across this place by accident but boy am I glad I did. The place is dog friendly for a start so That gets a thumbs up from me plus I got to meet Bryn who everyone seems to know. Really friendly staff, lovely pulled pork sandwich and some of the best chips I've had. I would say I would come back but 150 miles is a long way to go from home for a pint! Still, I was made to feel so welcome it was like a home from home. Thanks guys

The Wheatsheaf has had something of a revamp and the result is an even more welcoming and relaxed environment. We dropped in on a Friday evening to eat with some friends and I for one am very pleased we did so too. There was lamb shank with dauphinoise potatoes or a steak and ale pie with chips. This presented something of a dilemma but what those good people of the Dauphiné did to their pommes-de-terres got my vote.

I am local to the pub and have been a diner in the Wheatsheaf for last 3 years - the standard of service, quality of food and general upbeat friendly atmosphere of the pub has just got better and better in that time. For my wife and I this reached a pinnacle of excellence last light when we ate at the pub last night with some friends. In the knowledge that a new chef has recently started at the pub we took a risk in not selecting our normal steaks or burgers with chunky fries (which are always consistently exceptional) and went for the specials board; Slow roasted lamb and dauphinoise potatoes for 3 of us and homemade steak and ale pie for my wife - wow! We all agreed that quality and presentation of the food (the lamb coated in a delightful jus adorned with some very tasty thin crispy parsnip shavings) was on a par with the finest dining experiences we have had in Cheltenham. I look forward to the next time I get the chance to opt for a "special" as the chef has got flair and an obvious love for food that translates into a superb dining experience in a buoyant pub environment. Great pub - great food!

Rolling up to the arresting aroma of good British sausages that welcomed us as we passed through the wrought iron gate into the pub garden. Bouncy Castle, covered area in case of rain, sound stage with sound crew for Music Man and Slo Jin. Cookout area serving food including all sorts of cider and sausages. Sausage included two different Gluten Free sausages.

Llamamos por primera vez con 2 niños muy hambriento en el 12. 30 hoy en día. Intentamos pedir el almuerzo, pero nos dijeron que el hotel estaba completamente lleno, a pesar de la pub muy vacío. Sería útil si había un anuncio fuera para decir que no podía entrar a la orden, reservas. No nos ofrecieron ningún otras opciones incluso un pequeño snack bar para los niños, así que teníamos que irnos muy estresados con 2 niños muy mal humor. Grandes cosas oí acerca de este pub, así que la falta de atención al cliente básico nos dejó sin palabras y no no volveremos o recomendarlo.

Comimos aquí ayer el almuerzo y tengo que decir que fue fantástico. Pedí un tocino, queso brie sandwich cranberry (que no estaba en el menú, pero lo hicieron cuando lo pedí) y chips de queso, mi amigo tenía el halloumi y una hamburguesa y patatas...

There isn't a hugely extensive menu here but the actual food was delicious! The burgers were great and would recommend the sweet potato fries as a must eat! Very cosy lunch.

Eaten here a couple of times now and all has been very very very good for a local pub.Burgers are some of the best I have ever had and the fish and chips are also delicious. Family friendly pub which I highly reccomend.

Eight if us ate here on Sunday. The roasts were fabulous, I had the beef, cooked perfectly and very tender, great roasties and yorkies. Extra gravy and cracking .... no problem. Friendly staff ... will definitely go again.

This is our local pub and it has a great feel whether popping for a drink, enjoying a meal or our works Christmas do. Always fabulous events being held here too and my personal favourite is burger night every Tuesday. The owners are just lovely and have along with there ten transformed the pub so if you haven't been in a while it's definitely worth a return visit

Went recently with family for lunch and I throughly enjoyed the quiet, sun trap beer garden. The welcoming and friendly staff added to the relaxed family feel. The beef burger I had was that good that I felt that I had to create a trip advisor account in order to let everyone know how amazing it was. Honestly, one of the best burgers I've ever eaten - and I have eaten my fair share!To the management, if you are reading this, keep up the good work, as far as I'm concerned you are doing everything right. To the other trip advisor users that may read this, do yourself a favour, get yourself down to the Wheatsheaf and order a beef burger, you will not regret it. Trust me.

We greatly enjoyed our steaks and chips, and also our puddings. We intend to come again, and again, as we think the Wheatsheaf a very good pub. However, this evening the pub was COLD! Please can you warm it up?

I've just woken from a Sunday afternoon doze brought on by being so full after lunch at "The Wheatsheaf".Just three hours ago I was looking at my well-filled plate with great anticipation. As I looked, my Mother's much vaunted Sunday Lunch suddenly faded away to be replaced in my memory by rare roast beef, the tastiest most generous Yorkshire Pudding, crusted parsnips and roast potatoes, unbelievable deep toned gravy and a cauliflower cheese side dish which was delicately seasoned with Dijon mustard.There is nothing more to say. Just go. And, yes, when your neighbour isn't looking, pinch a piece of pork crackling, it melts in the mouth. Make a promise, try the pork .... next time.

Agree with the other reviews for Sunday lunch - fantastic roast beef Sunday lunch! Its a shame we don't live closer but were on holiday in the area, as this would be our go to Sunday venue. I'm always looking for new places to take out my friend, who has a learning disability, for lunch. We received a warm welcome and the food was very good indeed. My goats cheese tart and salad delicious, my friend's fish and chips perfectly cooked, The coffee was great too.Ok the decor's not flashy but give it go - you'll be pleasantly surprised.
