We have been regulars at L’Artisan for many years. It was our absolute favourite restaurant and we were devastated when it closed. Yves was a magician in the kitchen; the food was always fabulous and imaginative, the presentation beautiful and the ambience wonderful. Elisabeth always made us very welcome, with hugs and kisses all round, as did Anna, their lovely waitress.
It was such a relaxed atmosphere and we loved talking to Yves when he emerged from the kitchen to chat with clients.
What shall we do now without you?

Memsahibs offer a very special dining experience, their attention to detail shines through in the service, flavours, presentation and ambience.
We booked the Afternoon Tea for a birthday celebration, everyone was wowed, the dishes were delightful and the flavours......! 👌
Even the Gin and Tonic is an experience!
Very much looking forward to our next visit and highly recommended.
Absolutely fantastic food and great value, Went as part of a one night stay in Cheltenham, we were so impressed. Food was outstanding. , great flavours and portion size - albeit we had to ask for containers to take some home. Great service and value !!!
Tried the 5 course menu one evening at Jonas at GL50. The quality was fantastic, superbly prepared and presented with style and enthusiasm by the chefs themselves. The flavours were intense on every course but not over flavoured. The front of house was also very good. This restaurant deserves to be very successful.
My only feedback on changing things was that the wine flight, at £45/head for three small (c125ml) glasses of wine each, we thought excessive. Nice wines but (to us) no more so than the wines we would normally chose in a quality restaurant for £30-£40 for the bottle. I think adding just more one glass of wine so you didn’t need to ‘manage a glass across two savoury courses’ would make the wine flight feel a little better value.
Lovely cafe with really hearty, delicious main meals. Good coffee as well. Very friendly staff and quick service. It’s also dog friendly, which is a plus!
Sadly a really disappointing experience. Very expensive for what we got.
We went for afternoon tea. The bread in the sandwiches was dry, the lemon drizzle didn’t taste like lemon drizzle, the choux bun was raw and the scones were like bread rolls.
The pizza was nice and the lemon tarts were too.
We didn’t get asked if we wanted refills or more water and there was no atmosphere. We left feeling very disappointed ☹️
We stumbled upon this gem as we were looking for somewhere to shelter from the rain. We stayed for 2 hours and had a lovely experience. We had the wine flight and then several glasses after. The vibe was spot on, relaxed atmosphere, welcoming, great music and the staff were absolutely delightful. We saw others having some cheeses and were a little jealous as we had dinner booked somewhere else. If we are ever back in the area, we will definitely visit again. Such a delight on a rainy Saturday afternoon ✨️ 😌
Visited this great little cafe when in Town for New Year’s eve and the Races on New Year’s day.
Brunch on NYE and breakfast on New Year’s day. Great food, great service and very reasonably priced- will definitely return
Found this gem in the middle of town by chance. Didn't even notice there was a restaurant there. I'm so so glad me and my wife decided to give it a go. The staff gave as a very warm welcome and offer us a set menu for our lunch that was extremely tasty, very well presented and at a really good price for the quality of the food. Thank you so much Ilias and Delilah for everything. Definitely we'll be back shortly. Need more places like this in Cheltenham
I have tried to get takeaways here about three times. Each time I have been left waiting at the counter. The first two times it took about 15 mins to get chips. Not even busy in the restaurant. The last time the guy behind the counter told me he had a backlog of 20 minutes for orders. There was no one in the cafe. I have only gone back because it was recommended to me! Just go to falafel eat instead.
This cafe was so warm and welcoming on a grey cold December it was joy! The owners were amazingly friendly and funny and humourous… and looked after us beautifully. Home made tomato soup was exquisite and the shaksuka was divine. Highly highly recommend Lazy Graze.
Forty5 is hidden away in the outskirts of Cheltenham but by far the best restaurant I have eaten in. The food was perfection, cooked by the very talented Gareth who came to talk us through his menu. The restaurant is in peaceful surroundings, and was lovely and quiet, for those of us who like to chat while we eat. Cocktails in the bar beforehand were also delightful. Highly recommended!
Generous portions of really fresh flavours, tremendous value and lovely team. Good cakes as well, if you are still hungry....unlikely.
🙂Will certainly return. 5*****
Lovely find while looking for a coffee stop. We received a very warm welcome. Coffee was good and ended up having brunch as well which was great. Didn’t have room for any of the tasty looking cakes. We’ll be back!
im confused why it has such good rating? got a salad box that basically had cabbage and sauce and 6 piece of falafel inside. bit confused and angry why its so lacking. it was a very beige meal for a salad and wouldnt sample again,. maybe the wraps are better?
