Tried the 5 course menu one evening at Jonas at GL50. The quality was fantastic, superbly prepared and presented with style and enthusiasm by the chefs themselves. The flavours were intense on every course but not over flavoured. The front of house was also very good. This restaurant deserves to be very successful.
My only feedback on changing things was that the wine flight, at £45/head for three small (c125ml) glasses of wine each, we thought excessive. Nice wines but (to us) no more so than the wines we would normally chose in a quality restaurant for £30-£40 for the bottle. I think adding just more one glass of wine so you didn’t need to ‘manage a glass across two savoury courses’ would make the wine flight feel a little better value.
Visited this great little cafe when in Town for New Year’s eve and the Races on New Year’s day.
Brunch on NYE and breakfast on New Year’s day. Great food, great service and very reasonably priced- will definitely return
I have tried to get takeaways here about three times. Each time I have been left waiting at the counter. The first two times it took about 15 mins to get chips. Not even busy in the restaurant. The last time the guy behind the counter told me he had a backlog of 20 minutes for orders. There was no one in the cafe. I have only gone back because it was recommended to me! Just go to falafel eat instead.
Forty5 is hidden away in the outskirts of Cheltenham but by far the best restaurant I have eaten in. The food was perfection, cooked by the very talented Gareth who came to talk us through his menu. The restaurant is in peaceful surroundings, and was lovely and quiet, for those of us who like to chat while we eat. Cocktails in the bar beforehand were also delightful. Highly recommended!
I didn't physically visit this butchers, but a family member purchased goods from here and the quality and taste was amazing. The meat was tasty with literally no fat what so ever. It's a shame they don't open on a Monday or Tuesday as I would have purchased items to bring back to Wales as I was visiting family. The sausages are to die for!!!
We took a large group to the restaurant and had a delicious Sri Lankan dinner. Indi was so helpful and provided less spicy dishes for some of our guests so that everybody was happy. We took our own wine as the restaurant is waiting for a licence.
I also sometimes have a simple lunch with friends at the restaurant and it is always a success.
I would recommend it for both the British (lunchtime) and Sri Lankan dishes.

Sunday lunch 6 of us booked for 2:00pm. We arrived early for a pre lunch drink, no problem. It was busy, certainly book for Sunday lunch. We were shown to our table on time, inviting and welcomingly not over complicated menu with nibbles as starters… it’s all you need.
We all ordered the roast beef though, half a chicken, Lamb and Pork available. There are veggie options. The beef was perfectly cooked and service exemplary. Plenty of lovely vegetables with a choice of extra side dishes. Good voice of wines, beers and spirits. In my view the best Sunday lunch eaten out this year and there are good ones in Cheltenham. Most enjoyable eating experience.

Firstly the food was amazing, no queries whatsoever, the service I’d have preferred to be quicker but can’t complain really, and the atmosphere was good only downside for me, is when we went it was raining and there could have been more sheltered areas however when the weather is good it seems to be a lovely place
We so hope this delightful couple survive in the very competitive sphere of Cheltenham eateries. They more than deserve their place in the list of "must go to" restaurants. It's not a see and be seen place, but if you love good Italian cooking, you will be happy to find this place.
Pastries look lovely, unfortunately a lack of vegan options. There is one pastry, no savouries.
This is a shame as other bakeries are way more inclusive.
Coffee was lovely and environment is nice but absolutely freezing!
It is undercover but it’s a temporary structure which doesn’t warm up!
What a beautiful little gem of a cafe!
The coffee was so delicious and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Particularly the marshmallow syrup, which I'd never tried before, and it was awesome.
Alex is friendly and helpful, as were other staff members.
Amazing experience and can't recommend this place enough.
Looking forward to my next visit 😊
Bien hecho y buena suerte...
