We took a large group to the restaurant and had a delicious Sri Lankan dinner. Indi was so helpful and provided less spicy dishes for some of our guests so that everybody was happy. We took our own wine as the restaurant is waiting for a licence. I also sometimes have a simple lunch with friends at the restaurant and it is always a success. I would recommend it for both the British (lunchtime) and Sri Lankan dishes.

What a lovely little gem of a place. We went for lunch and the food was amazing and very reasonably priced. Really friendly welcome. We’ll be back to try the breakfast.

This is a hidden gem in Cheltenham, not least when the high street is full of uninspiring coffee shop/restaurant chains. It’s a lovely, quiet and unassuming place to have tea and cake or a more substantial meal. Spotlessly clean, light and airy, it has a welcoming feel to it. The staff are extremely friendly and accommodating, chatting to customers like old friends but knowing when to give others space too. It’s quite the skill to know what people want, and even more so to be able to provide it. The food is very good, from sandwiches/paninis to more hearty delights such as fish pie and sausages and mash. Always tasty with fresh ingredients, the menu is varied and definitely good value for money. The lemon drizzle cake should also get a mention.

This is a tranquil oasis away from the rush and noise and just round the corner from the Minster (Cheltenham's mediaeval gem). I'm so glad this cafe has opened. It's quiet, welcoming, comfortable and the coffee is excellent!

You will not find a better place in Cheltenham for lunch!!! We meet most Thursdays and the food is always excellent, so fresh I really don’t know how Mark can make a sandwich taste so good. The menu also includes hot meals and there is always a selection of delicious home made cakes and scones. Phai is always so friendly and the rapport she has with Mark is brilliant they make an excellent team. I really can’t ‘gush’ enough over this eatery - it really is the highlight of our outing to town.

Dear reader I am not given to writing a review unless compelled to do so.This lovely restaurant, coffee shop meeting place is an absolute gem.Located just a stone’s throw from the Minster is located this oasis a truly lovely place. The ambiance is so gorgeous and peaceful with a mainly lunch menu that is difficult to choose from as I could eat everything on it a truly rare experience.Competing as it does with many eateries nearby this bolt hole is in a class of its own.Pham and Mark who work there are really good hosts and the cheese scones are to die for as are other gorgeous ,naughty nibble things.A place to be proud of..thank you

My wife and I went off in search of an independent tea room or cafe in Cheltenham and were delighted to find Halfway to Heaven. We both had an Earl Grey tea and shared a treacle tart and lemon shortbread - both cakes were lovely. What really set the place apart was the super friendly service. The lady who served us happily chatting away to us both about our day/holiday/where we came from etc. The gentleman from the establishment popped in at the end as we were about to leave and also had a chat with us. There were two ladies in the tea room who were leaving just as we arrived and one of them left her glasses behind. The lady from Halfway To Heaven spotted this about five minutes or so after they had left and set off outside to try and find the customer to give her back her glasses - most places would have just set them aside and waited for the customer to return - now that's service. This is the kind of independent business that cares about its customers and their experiences and deserves to thrive. We hope others will make a very short detour away from the large chains and support such nice people in their endeavors.

Mark has done it again! Not only was the food superb as always, the service was quick, friendly and welcoming. He has managed to create an elegant, welcoming space. I loved it. It is going to become my fave place to go. Prices are good for the excellent quality of food. Presentation is key and my avocado and prawn salad was so beautifully prepaed...it looked fab...almost too good to eat.....everything was so fresh. I would recommend Halfway to Heaven to anyone wanting coffee, cake, lunch and a fab coffee. Well done Mark and team.

The small plates were delicious. The pureed pistachio with red onion jam was fantastic, as was the smoked duck. Also the spiced chicken strips were unexpectedly delicious!

I live local and find the greedy pricing not only deluded but offensive considering how much people are struggling financially. £6.95 for a small average ciabatta, £0.50p charges for oat milk, coffee shops have gotten used to people being sheep with there money. Could have gone to a restaurant for the price of two sandwiches and two coffees. Won’t be back.
