Suffolk Coffee in Cheltenham

Having now left Sunday lunch disappointed on two separate occasions we won’t be back. Food takes over 45 mins to come out. The roasts potatoes were barely cooked, the beef wellington was too far gone and the Yorkshire puddings were cremated. Washing it down with £9.50 a glass Prosecco seemed folly. Cannot recommend. Go to Tailors instead.

Went for Sunday lunch yesterday. What a find ! Wonderful atmosphere, brilliant service and wow, the food delicious! We will be back for sure . Highly recommend.

Pleasant enough coffee shop. Coffee is fine however a little expensive at £3.30 for a 7 oz Americano. Has a small loo, help yourself to tap water from a dispenser. Very good range of cakes / pastries.

The best coffee shop in Cheltenham. Coffee is superb. All types are served with perfection. Staff are so friendly and helpful.

We came in for a cuppa after reading good reviews about this coffee shop. My husband’s coffee was very good, one of the best he’s had in Cheltenham. My hot chocolate was delicious and of a very high quality. We also shared a slice of lemon and blueberry loaf and it was very tasty too. Next time we’re in Cheltenham, we will definitely come back. Thank you!

Lovely British dishes! Like the seasonal touches like their partridge/quail on polenta and the turkey breast with red cabbage and a side of Brussels sprouts with chestnuts. Nice creamy persimmon panna cotta. Excellent choice of apperatives.

Monk fish was good, but the duck starter was over salted. Beef wellington main was well portioned but the seafood linguine was lacking in fresh seafood. Food was priced high and a service charge was added to the meal for the mediocre food. When we didn't pay the whole service charge due to the average service, the staff treated us poorly and messed around getting our coats. I won't be going back.

Nice welcome cocktail for my wife’s birthday. Nice cosy atmosphere. Food was good, reasonable selection for Sunday Lunch. Could have dive with fresh bread, but not available on Sunday ! Nice staff. Would recommend and would visit again.

Nice place to eat, good food and drinks. The food was well thought out and presented in a modern way, a nice combination of flavours. The staff were nice but very busy so it took a while to get their attention. The venue was busy and they had some loud people in, so it was quite a noisy venue.

Went for dinner on a Saturday night, had a really nice dinner with an excellent bottle of wine. Relaxed and friendly service.

We have been going here for lunch on a Sunday for a while now. The roast dinner is just epic! We have the roast beef and it is everything you want from a roast dinner!! 👌🏼 The owner, Max, offers friendly and efficient service, with good wines and fair prices. A definite ‘go to’ destination for us.

First time here for Sunday lunch and it did not disappoint. The monkfish starter was to die for. Beef if served rare, but I'm sure you could request medium or well done.chicken was faultless. If I had any reservations it would be that I would like to decide for myself what service charge I would be prepared to leave, unfortunately its automatically added to your bill, which I feel personally is a little demanding. Bearing this in mind you can request this is removed and feel free to leave what you are comfortable with.all in all, I would highly recommend it, and we look forward to returning.

Went for Sunday roast, based on the sample menu we expected to be able to order a veg roast, but unfortunately all the roast options were meat based, so we had to order a Sheppards pie. Although the pie was good, it was the same price as a roast (£21), but with no sides included, which is not at all equivalent to a roast and the price should’ve reflected that

What a fantastic place! Max the manager is so welcoming and makes every guest feel special. With a very carefully curated interior, the relaxed but sophisticated atmosphere is second-to-none. We came for Thursday steak night and we’re blown away by the staters, main and the truffle chips! Super reasonable price at £40 for 2 steak dinners with all the sides included. Definitely a must-visit if you’re in Cheltenham!

We had Sunday lunch here today and the food is excellent. The menu is set on a Sunday and is £27.50 for two courses. We had Roast Sirloin of Beef and the Lamb Duo. The Roast Parsnips and Carrots were in a Honey-mustard glaze and all the vegetables were spot on. The meat was very tender and in addition there were Pigs in Blankets on each Roast. The Cauliflower Cheese accompaniment was extremely tasty. Overall it was one of the best roast dinners we have had to date. For dessert we had Suffolk Mess, White Chocolate Mousse with Candied walnuts and Hazelnut Brownie with ice-cream. All 3 were absolutely delicious. You can have 3 courses for £31.50 but the portions are so generous that we couldn’t have managed starters. The staff were friendly and efficient. We were allowed to take our Cockapoos in too but only specific tables are dog friendly as the restaurant is fairly narrow in places. We were offered water for them too and nothing was too much trouble. This restaurant is situated in The Suffolks area of Cheltenham and it’s on-street parking. The menu varies as they source local produce. I would definitely rate this 10/10

Reserved a table for Sunday Lunch. Nice simple menu, we had the lamb, chicken and beef accompanied with lots of lovely cooked veg and a crispy yorkshire pudding. We all had desserts and they were very tasty! Not one complaint, outstanding food and staff were very attentive. Would recommend 100%

We had an amazing roast dinner here while on a trip in Cheltenham. The restaurant has a cozy atmosphere, the staff is lovely and the Sunday menu was super indulgent. My only regret is that I didn’t have enough space for a dessert!

A lovely Mother's Day treat! Our first time here, the owner and staff were attentive - nothing was too much trouble. Extra gravy, extra mash, colouring for our little one and some left over meat to take for the dogs! Price a little on the steeper side but with such great service, this isn't an issue. I am usually very dubious about going out for a roast, usually not enough veg or not enough gravy, but the portion was huge! I have come away hoping we will return very soon! Thank you for a lovely Mother's Days dinner and a free glass of fizz to celebrate.

Excellent all round - food, ambience and, especially, service. This is a most enjoyable place to eat - a family-run restaurant offering a warm welcome, good food and good value.

The menu says that all roasts are served with Yorkshire pudding and cauliflower cheese, which implies that if you order the vegan roast you'll get vegan Yorkshire pudding. Instead you get no Yorkshire pudding (which *is* the main event in a Sunday roast) and a bill for the same amount as the meat roasts. The meat roasts did look fantastic though.

Very dark, but otherwise good ambiente. However, if you're vegetarian/vegan, don't bother. It's too expensive to be served a plate of vegetables (and leave hungry). Meats supposedly are great!

Visited for a Sunday roast - although the food was good, the veg roast dinner was exactly what it said on the menu, literally just a plate of roast vegetables. Wouldnt have been a huge problem, except for the fact it was the same price as a beef or venison roast (£21.50). They did take it off the bill for us which was a nice gesture as my friend was slightly disappointed when she was only given a plate of vegetables. The restaurant is quite small so did get a bit loud and stuffy towards the end.

A truly delicious dinner, staff were amazing and I can’t wait to return. The sharing tomahawk steak was unbelievable as was the beetroot starter and monk fish. 100/10

Max and his staff are super kind and attentive. The food was so delicious and very well presented, it looks as good as it tastes. I had the tempura monkfish for starter and it was incredible. I would highly recommend :)

This was one of, if not our most impressive restaurant experiences in Cheltenham. The staff couldn't have been more welcoming, friendly, and attentive, the decor and ambience of the restaurant is utterly lovely, and the food... Just sublime. We had three courses, with each one being an absolutely divine dining experience. A small menu but truly containing something for everyone, with expertly-cooked food featuring superb ingredients. We can't wait for our next visit!

First time we visited this restaurant as we were in the area and omg the best decision! We absolutely loved our steaks and it was steak night bonus! The experience was lovely too the waiters helped wherever they could highly recommend!

Excellent food - had the arancini and seafood linguine, which were both amazing. Experience made even better by how friendly and attentive the three waiters were. We will be back!

What a fantastic place! The potted crayfish & crab starter, Lobster linguine & BBQ pork chop mains were outstanding. The chef also visited the table to check in with us. The local beer & wine was a lovely touch too. Service was very warm and attentive. Such a lovely evening. Have to book again!

Nice decor/vibe but I was left a bit annoyed tbh. Ordered the 8oz fillet steak with a side order of fries for ~30quid and got a 4oz steak at best & a meagre handful of fries. When I commented to the waitress I got no reaction as she didn't seem to care. The owner (I think) said when I paid the bill I'd get a better one next time...there won't be a next time.

I definitely highly recommend this place! I don’t think I’ve ever had a better venison in my life! It’s quite fancy ish so I wouldn’t wear anything too casual - it’s really nice for a date night. Prices are reasonable for the quality of the food. That’s going to be one of my faves in Cheltenham!

Delicious food but if you are looking for a nice place to dinne and chat forget about the chat part, is quite loud when everyone starts talking, for some reason ( I imagine is the narrow space that goes along the tables, bad acoustics, who knows) you end up shouting at your friends rather than talking, other than that, the service was really. Good and the food is amazing, I would come back just for the food.

We were out on a stroll and passed by. The aromas were tempting and we asked for a table on impulse. It was late in the service but we were received warmly. The menu was excellent for choice and an interesting variety for Sunday roast. The experience was outstanding. Delicious food and great service. We will definitely be returning very soon

We ate a very satisfying lunch here today. First visit and definitely not the last I hope. Shout out to the chefs, Max and his staff for putting on such a great offer. I would highly recommend that you book and sample the menus for yourself.

We found out about this place online. Most reviews very positive and they certainly didn't exaggerate. This little restaurant is a class act. From the very friendly welcome, lively ambience, attentive and very efficient service to the superb food we had one of our best eating out experiences for a long time. You will not regret visiting Suffolk Rock.

What a fantastic place! Staff is professional, efficient, friendly and very attentive. When the manager noticed that my husband had to walk out to get my son to nap, he offered to take my husband's food back to the kitchen to keep warm. And the moment my husband walked back, the food was on the table! We also overheard a guest ask if they have garden. The manager said no but offered to recommend places nearby with one. They were also very careful with our allergy concerns and chef personally walked out to verify details. Food was very tasty and fairly priced. The kids fillet steak was so yummy as well!

Cozy, hospitable, relaxed atmosphere and a simple, really well executed menu. Great selection of good value wines and cocktails. You can just tell when an owner is a) fully involved and b) on top of his game.

I was fortunate to be in this restaurant the night before lockdown in November. I was visiting Cheltenham for just 2 days and chose Suffolk rock. Omg did I make the right choice !! The food is insanely delicious. My partner and I the Hake special, which was perfectly cooked moist and flaky The desert of white chocolate creme brulé tempted me to get another to takeaway. The atmosphere is warm and buzzing with a very attentive staff. One lovely touch was on arrival.. the manager asked for my reservation and greeted me by my first name rated than "Mr" and genuinely interested on our day. I said to my partner that when we're struggling to find anywhere to go locally ( Solihull) then we should head to Cheltenham because it's clear that what we experienced is not a one- off. 5 star for everything... The bill for 3 courses and a couple of drinks for 2 came to just £73. An absolute steal for 2 hours of the best dining experience this year .

Had this palace recommended to me and was pleasantly surprised when I went. The decor was cozy and had a homely feel to it. The menu wasn't massive, but had enough variety. The wine selection was not too large but well explained so you could find exactly what you were looking for. Looking forward to my next meal there ☺️

The quality and thought into the menu and flavours were superb. Excellent service. Really nice chilled setting. One of the best meals I’ve had in a long time. So much so we had 4 starters, 2 mains and a desert for 2 persons. I would highly recommend.

We visited Suffolk Rock on Sunday and had the sunday roast. It was a nice welcome from the staff. It was good value for money. I wouldn't class it as amazing in terms of the food. The venison was ok and the gravy was very watery. The positives were that the prawn cocktail was really good and so was the asparagus starter. The wine was very nice and they served Deya which is my favourite local ale which was really nice. It's a good atmosphere there and I would return again. I'd be interested in going on a different day and trying main meal rather than the roast. Good value and worth trying. I would have given it 4.5 stars due to the roast but I didnt want to effect the perfect score!

What an absolute delightful surprise, especially on a Wednesday! Amazing food and this has to be one of the tastiest places to eat in Cheltenham, looking forward to trying the Sunday lunch and Breakfast very soon.

The Suffolk rock has such a welcoming vibe and also the staff are so polite and warming. Making sure there customers are getting 100% good service and amazing high quality food. From having dinner there then other night, the food was truly lovely and I will definitely be coming again with more friends and family. Highly recommend, if your wanting to dine in Cheltenham then the Suffolk rocks is amazing!!!
