Falafel King in Cheltenham

I have tried to get takeaways here about three times. Each time I have been left waiting at the counter. The first two times it took about 15 mins to get chips. Not even busy in the restaurant. The last time the guy behind the counter told me he had a backlog of 20 minutes for orders. There was no one in the cafe. I have only gone back because it was recommended to me! Just go to falafel eat instead.

I used to love their food but I've cut down on takeaway so it's been a while. I thought I'd treat myself tonight. Falafel pitta, coleslaw and some extra falafel just in case. What a disappointment. The previously crisp and fluffy falafel balls were solid, dry and, I'd guess, cooked earlier and warmed up. The once delicious home made coleslaw was replaced by a tub of grated carrot with a very thin mayo type dressing. Awful. Fifteen quid with delivery fees. I feel like I've been robbed. Threw it away. What a let down. What's happened,

Absolutely amazing falafels! Love that you can choose what salad and sauce you would like. Gutted that they have to close to relocate - hopefully they find somewhere soon as I cannot live without those beautiful falafels! Great job guys!

Mi abrigo estaba escasamente lleno y sabía a ensalada de col barata. Ni una hoja de lechuga a la vista. El cuscús era de hecho trigo bulgar con puré de tomate revuelto, ¡asqueroso! La comida tenía un sabor procesado y nada fresco, la antítesis de la excelente comida vegetariana. Una verdadera decepción y un contraste con las fotos que había visto de sus comidas.

I have been to Falafel King three or four times and it has never disappointed me. The staff is very friendly and professional. The food is healthy, tasty, filling and the portions are big. I will come back again for sure.

I was wandering down the highstreet the other day, looking for a bite to eat, and decided to give Falafel King a whirl, despite not being a huge falafel fan (they are often quite stodgy and bland). I'm happy to have taken a punt, because the falafel wrap I had there was fresh, light crispy, savoury and in all other ways utterly delicious!

I never had a falafel burger until falafel King and have to say it was completely worth it and the portions are genoures.

Fresh, delicious and generous. I was so excited to have an opportunity to pop in for lunch last week. Everything is freshly prepped and stacked with flavour and fillings. I was full for the rest of the day. So much better than anything else on offer if you’re popping somewhere while shopping or after work.

I’m not vegetarian but i like trying new things and honestly these guys serve absolutely amazing food, worth every penny.

Lovely food, brilliant value. Loved the falafels and salad. It’s pretty busy at times which is good, but you may have a bit of a wait as the food is cooked to order, but totally worth the wait. Good service too.

Quick lunch in falafel king today and i have nothing bad to say. Very warm welcome, efficient table service, huge menu, cracking food, very reasonably priced and free Turkish delight with out piece of meat in sight. Beautiful. Will be back

Just had a lunchtime Falafel Wrap made by April, Can't fault it, friendly staff and atmosphere. Very quick and a vegan dish that met all requirements. Top Knobba, would visit again

Hungry and just arrived in Cheltenham, the falafel king was the first place we saw, where I would definitely find something I could eat. A friendly faced man quickly came to welcome us. Quickly, we were fetched drinks. Good coffee is served here. Nice and strong. I had a falafel pita packed with salad. Delicious warm fat falafels with pickle, red cabbage and lots of carrot with a thick spread of hummus. It’s very rare I struggle to finish food, but my pita and a side of fries nearly defeated me. My partner had a wrap version in the same snack with cheese chips. These both with a drink each came to about twenty quid. Twenty quid well spent. Cheltenham has become great for places for vegan food. This is the one to come to if you are in a hurry.

Love falafel king it’s become our go to! The falafel wrap is so good, really filling and feels really fresh with loads of salad. The staff are lovely and it’s grwat value for how much you get.

Loved this place and was so glad when they moved further into town. Sad to see it's gone and hope they plan on popping up somewhere else before long.

I'm not a vegetarian. I love meat. But lunch today was so tasty and fresh I'd recommend to veggies and meat lovers alike. Definitely give it a try

We had a great family meal tonight at the Falafel King ! The staff were very welcoming and the food was excellent !!

First time eating at falafel king and it was delicious. We had falafel wrap and it was massive! We will defiantly be returning. Very tasty food and great portion sizes.

Oh my word!! Passing through Cheltenham and hadn’t yet had breakfast, ok it was now 10 o’clock. It’s the first time I’ve been in here and was blown away. The food was amazing and in abundance. The flavours oozing out of my wrap had me smiling. I’m a big foodie so I want something that exudes flavour and tastes. To say I was impressed is a massive understatement. I will definitely return. A good clean restaurant, friendly welcome and flavours that grab your tongue and throw you around the room.

Decided to pop in for a snack when out Christmas shopping and came out totally stuffed. Really friendly helpful staff.

Top find on The Strand, Cheltenham. Warm welcome, helpful service and a great menu. Wraps are huge and fully filled. Excellent. Worth a visit.

I love Falafal King! I'm a huge fan and go there often. It's spacious, lovely and clean. Their food is delicious, every single time I visit. I visited with my fiancé, who loves falafel. I’ve tried it a few times at home and thought It was okay! So decided to take a chance and order from this shop. I ordered a falafel and halloumi wrap with onions. Oh my god, honestly the tastiest thing I have ever had!!

The guys here are super friendly and really accommodating- he asked if I was vegan and I am and so he told me he'd give me the works (as you can see in the picture, they really didn't skimp on any fillings!). It was super tasty and underneath everything was a generous amount of falafel which were delicious! My boyfriend had the falafel/halloumi wrap which he really enjoyed too. The restaurant was nice and clean and I was pleasantly surprised to see that the toilets were too (unlike a lot of places)! Will definitely be coming back here again and even if you're not vegan/veggie, the food is amazing and is so worth trying out!

Having had a Pre-diabetic diagnosis, I’ve been finding it hard to find a fast food, low carb cafe in Cheltenham but this place is great as you don’t HAVE to have the panini/wrap/baked potato with their delicious felafel and mixed, imaginative salads yay!

Always delicious food, and the staff make it- brilliant. The price is excellent and for a £6 wrap you will not go hungry! Would highly recommend.

Absolutely amazing find! Chips are great, with one of the best curry sauces around. Falafel pitta and wraps are so tasty and are very generous portions. Great value for money. Staff are always welcoming and very friendly. Cannot fault!

Nice to see a place dedicated to falafel which I haven’t found near home. Food was great, can’t fault the service and the staff either, also really good value, will return!

OMG.. this place does the most yummy falafel.. Excellent value for money and huge portions The guys that run the place are super friendly too. Incredible fresh rainbow salad is served with your food. Makes your mouth water. A must if your in Cheltenham....

If I’m in Cheltenham I try to make it here for a falafel and halloumi wrap, it’s insane how much they cram in it and there is so much choice of the freshest salad. Washed down with a lovely Turkish tea.

Went in with my partner for a quick lunch. Service was good. Ordered two falafel burgers. They were great.

My family and I had a sit down meal here after I’ve had eaten here several times and as always super tasty and a good sized portions ,very easy to find and the cherry on the cake is the boss/ owner is a true gentleman.i had my usual falafel wrap with all the trimmings ( lovely ) but I got stuck in and forgot to take a picture . The girls had baked potatoes with cheese and Russian salad and chips.

By far the best falafels I have tried. The staff is helpful and the menu is the simplest one... Do try the Halumi cheese roll its just the class apart

What a fantastic place, the falafel is fresh and the best I’ve ever tasted, I can’t believe I haven’t been here before! Would highly recommend it and I will definitely return. You might get lucky and meet a celeb in there I met Bill Bailey!

Excellent fare! Took my other half and daughter to this spacious diner after a previous visit last week for lunch. Large selection of fresh salad, delicious falafels, great hummus, and authentic Turkish tea -all served by friendly staff. Definitely plan to visit again.

Popped in with my daughter for a quick lunch. I had been wanting to try this place for ages and it didn’t disappoint. We shared a wrap which are huge! So tasty and fresh. Only £5! The restaurant was very clean. I also want to mention that the man serving us was so friendly and made us feel very welcome. He was right- we will visit again!

Popped in for lunch on a Saturday and really glad we did. Delicious, freshly cooked falafel in a huge pitta or wrap with loads of salad, tasty sauces and hummus. They even have baklava for dessert, but I was too full to try it.

My wife and I went to Falafel King last week and it was yummy. We explained we were vegan and the staff knew exactly what to put in our falafel.

Huge portions of food - either in wrap or on a plate, where it's basically all presented separately. All vegetarian - have falafel if you're vegan. Vast selection of sauces, you can have them all if you want! Examples - garlic, salsa, houmous, coriander. Lots of different salads. Exceptionally charming, friendly staff. Overall, a great experience. Unlicensed though, so be prepared to drink soft!
