Smokin' Burgers & Shakes in Cheltenham

my boyfriend and I wanted to try somewhere new, and we weren’t disappointed! the man serving us was attentive & friendly, and made our food very quickly and efficiently. we ordered a beef burger and a chicken burger, and were not let down - they were both great quality and tasty! we will be back soon, thank you! :)

Ordered 2 days in a row 2 mexican burgers: 1 of them without onion and mayonese and one with everything ! Both days, yesterday and today, both burgers arrived with no onions and mayonese when I actually asked for one ! I even rang the restaurant I explained but still useless and waste of time and ...appetite ! What's going on ??

I order from this place about 3 times maybe 4 times a week, never had a problem apart from chicken a little pink I have explained this to them before and they corrected it, I ordered last week and asked for no leg ( they normally give breast or thigh) I ring after I placed the order on just eat and the guy who answered was absolutely disgusting the attitude and manner on his swearing down the phone so I demanded to refund me and he told me I should go direct to just eat so because it wasn't cooked yet they directed me to the restaurant again he swore and said well they sent the driver now so avoid this place at all costs I would never order from here again!!!!

food was great. the drinks we had ordered they didnt have so replaced them and even gave us an extra drink,, very friendly will go again.

Used to be great, then became good and now it's just a bit averagely poor. We don't use them anymore.

Probably spent about 5k here since they opened. Always loved the food [ joe ] But please changed the burgers back to the original 100% beef its such a shame the burgers now taste like fairground burgers

Smokin burgers and shakes has gone downhill hugely, and reading that it’s under new ownership is no surprise. The beef burger tasted rubbery and not very good quality. All of our portions of chips / wedges were soggy and not cooked. I called up to let them know that the chips were not cooked, soggy and cold, and the man was very unhelpful. He said that he could not do anything and to call Just Eat. The issue is with the food, not the delivery, so why would I do that? The food used to be excellent, I used to love their burger/fries. Will not be ordering from here again. Avoid

This place used to be owned by Muslim owners and everything was halal at that time. The food was delicious and we never had any problems. Recently, the ownership has changed and the new owner’s service is extremely poor. We have tried it a couple of time after the new owners took over but the chicken and beef burgers were cold and tasteless. The food was not worth it - they take forever to make it and it’s still served cold. People working inside are polite but the owner is very rude. Just wanted to spread the word to all our Muslim brothers and sisters that the beef is not halal anymore. They don’t even tell people and many may have just eaten from Smokin Burgers without the knowledge that the beef is not halal (people would’ve assumed since it has been halal for so many years). Poor and needs to be fixed.

Unfriendly atmosphere. Made to feel like I was burdening them when ordering. I asked if I could get wings and they said I can’t with no explanation (even though I could see they were serving them ) . I was waiting for my food for over an hour and the food was mediocre. Wouldn’t reccomend

My first ever food review. Food ordered for kids just didn’t turn up. 1.5 hrs later I contacted a nice person from central admin who tried to help but kept me waiting another half hour to tell me they were cancelling the order. At 10pm that was as welcome as a sick burger. Perhaps a near miss and a lesson learnt. Avoid please

Ordered a meal and it took over 2 hours to get to me and I just threw it in the bin, wouldn’t recommend unless your going to order go watch a cricket match and get back home to it just being delivered

The food took over 2 hours to turn up and when it finally arrived the burger bun was wet and soggy also the hot dogs were not cooked properly when I phone up to tell them that i was not happy they rudely said that they checked the records and always complain it’s the first time I have ordered from there definitely will not be ordering from there again

I made an order for delivery Food was absolutely shocking the burger bun was soggy and wet was like a paste in my fingers when picked it up the hotdogs which are normal sausage we’re not cooked properly when I phoned up to let them know they Rudely said they checked the phone records and I always ring up and complain it was the first time I have ever ordered from there I couldn’t believe the way they spoke to me would highly advise not to go there as the food it way over charged for what it is and they clearly don’t know how to cook properly I also waited over two hours for my order for this to happen they refused to exchange the food or give a refund

this was diabolicale, food has never been bad from here. not the food i’m unhappy with. i ordered my DINNER at 8pm ish and i’m sitting here at 10.35 still waiting for my dinner; after ringing them up and them saying it’s on its way abruptely and hanging up.

The food is good. However the service is not good. 1 hour 30 is not an acceptable time to wait. Also not even an Apology or an acceptance that actually 1 hour 30 is too long from the gentleman who answered the phone. This is poor at best. Overall the food is good, but everything else……meh Won’t be ordering from here again for a while if at all

Very pricey for a burger and milkshake and didn’t include chips. Was a very tasty meal though, would recommend.

Ordered for delivery a number of times in hopes it would get better but it’s awful service. Every…single…TIME! We have had to chase the order after an hour of waiting to be met with “where did you order from? Oh, we’ll cook your order now”. Food is always amazing, but they forget your order until you call

Ordered multiple times but I don’t know why. Takeaway is horrible even a quiet night I didn’t get my food for over an hour. I’m busy nights it would take about 2 1/2 hours. When I called to check on the status they always tell me it’s waiting for a driver or left with the driver. Then half an hour would pass by and nothing. It just kept getting worse and worse. The last time I ordered the food got to me cold. To be honest with this restaurant take the reviews into huge consideration! I would never ever recommend you to order takeaway from this place. Especially if you’re hungry.

Really good quality food, well packaged, good service and a great menu. Can't fault it. From my visits this place has been absolutely top draw, not all staff are masked up which is disappointing but could be due to exemptions. Service is prompt, food is well cooked and tastes great...just what one would hope for. Definitely recommend.

Just had a takeaway from Smokin' Burgers and Shakes - not our first from here by far. However, I think it will be our last! We ordered through Just Eat at about five past six and before confirming the order, it said it would be an hour which would have been ok for us. Then, when we confirmed the order, the time changed and we were given a quarter to eight as delivery time! We weren't too happy with this and were already considering that perhaps we wouldn't order from here again as this had happened before. In fact on one occasion we had waited over two hours! So, thinking we had a while to wait, my partner took a bath. But shortly after the food arrived unexpectedly early at just before seven. We would have got over this if the food hadn't been so disappointing - it wasn't very warm, the fries in particular. They were also soggy, chewy and really didn't taste very good. The burgers weren't great either - soggy buns with a burnt taste and ok warmish burgers. Furthermore, this disappointment cost nearly £24 - really not worth it. I will say, that in the past we have always been happy with the food from here, but this has really put us off.

Weve always ordered from you love the food and the milkshakes but how on earth does it take nearly 2 hours everytime we order yet when we phone to find out where our food is it's always magically just leaving the restaurant? I think if the delivery was faster I'd be more inclined to order more but tonight we ordered at 19:47 and its now 21:33 we've just phoned and as I've stated its now magically leaving the restaurant, this isn't the first time we've waited hours for our food either.

Surprisingly tasty. The burger was very good and the fries super tasty. The bottom bun was very soggy so couldn't eat that but enough of everything else to make up for it. The milkshake was very good as well. The sauces aren't to my liking but everything was good.

The burger was good but I think Holee Cow is better. I used thier own website to order but I recommend you use Deliveroo. I did not receive a confirmation or any notification of expected delivery time. I phoned to confirm and I was told it would be 40 mins, but took over 1 hour 30 minutes.

Shakes are the best and the food is all cooked fresh.

Hands down the best burgers in Cheltenham. The people that build these burgers are artists. Always fresh ingredients. Cooked to perfection. Built with care and attention. Even if delivery is sometimes late. It’s worth the wait. Crispy fries (Piri Piri). Shake that’s still thick and cold like it’s just been freshly made minutes ago (Reece’s pieces shake is amazing btw). The most mouthwatering burger so full of flavour (Mexican is my choice, extra nachos!). Can’t give this place high enough praise. Excellent every time. Can’t recommend Smokin Burgers and Shakes enough. Keep up the good work!

This is my go to takeaway, I think it's only ever let me down once and I believe that was the uber driver as when I rang to complain they sent out order with free items super quick and apologised profusely. They can take ages to deliver though so we tend to just order earlier as its worth it. Oh quite pricey actually too but again in my opinion worth it. Always have smokin burger with 'boring fries' yum!!

Food arrived over an hour after estimated delivery time. Very poor

The food is normally good but covid-19 regulations are poor. Staff and delivery drivers not wearing masks and when challenged laughed. Such a shame as they used to be so good. You are risking the hospitality industry shame on you.

I order take out. It had failed delivery, and was redelivered 30mins later. It was cold, the guy I spoke to was rude and customer service was shocking. When the food arrived the denero burger had a rubber band in it, I bit in and pulled it out. Worst service I've ever had and I would never go there again, if the food quality check let's a rubber go out in a burger, someone could have choked and possibly died. Would suggest going somewhere else.

Unfortunately after a 2 hour wait gave up waiting and ordered from elsewhere, food never arrived.

Fantastic first taste recently, and way better than any other burgers. Especially with the variety available. Just let down by the service even when I ordered in advance online, I had to return home before getting my order on the 2nd visit. Maybe I'll just avoid a busy evening next time!

Really ! 2 hours to wait for a burger. We only live A mile away! We have a family and it far too long to wait with kids. Even called after just over an hour and it was still being prepared. Won’t order again

The fact that people go to McDonald’s and KFC when there’s places like this around simply baffles me. Really tasty high quality food and generous portions. They always chuck in a few dips. Great takeaway!

Ordered takeaway from here on a Sunday afternoon. Food is amongst the best for grilled chicken. Only let down by poor communication and delays in the service. Shakes are better here than actual dessert places in Cheltenham

Ordered for delivery. 80 minutes later order arrived. Even during those 80 minutes the order was wrong, with missing items. Ordered on ubereats, But was delivered by just-eat. In a time when online orders are vital to these businesses you would think more of an effort would be made. Wont use again and would not recommend for delivery.

The burgers and fries are so amazing we have ordered them two nights in a row. There shakes are also delicious. I can’t recommend them enough.

Food is excellent. BUT we ordered through their app and it took 2 hours for our food to arrive. Had to call twice. First we’ve been told if we order thru app we need to wait at leas ONE AND A HALF hour. Second they told us they’re short staffed!!?? Our food is still not with us and we are waiting for 2 hours now.. would not recommend their app!

Placed an order for delivery. After 1.5 hours called. They said would send replacement. 40 mins later called again to be told that all orders have been cancelled with Deliveroo but not advised. Store denied telling me they would resend the meal earlier then screamed at me when I was telling them they had informed me earlier that a delivery was sent out and would be resent. Disgrace. We know it’s hard currently but if you are set up for delivery at least be able to do this. Won’t use again.

Ok, first time we have ordered from this place. Food took 1hr 45 min to arrive which was annoying. But oh wow! The food was amazing!!! I would go as far as to say ‘the best burger I’ve ever had’l my hubby had the 1/2 chicken which was also superb. Kids loved their burgers. The milkshakes were amazing!!
