I didn't physically visit this butchers, but a family member purchased goods from here and the quality and taste was amazing. The meat was tasty with literally no fat what so ever. It's a shame they don't open on a Monday or Tuesday as I would have purchased items to bring back to Wales as I was visiting family. The sausages are to die for!!!

Whenever we have a special occasion and want a large joint I will always go to Waghornes as the meat is consistently excellent, well aged, super tender and packed with flavour. The team in the shop are also very enthusiastic about their meat and happy to spend time explaining unusual cuts or suggesting different cooking techniques. I've tried all the butchers in the area; Cheltenham, Winchcombe, Bishop's Cleeve, Broadway and further across to Northleach, but for me, Waghornes is the best. Yep, you will pay a bit more for your meat here but the difference is worth it. Roast sirloin tonight - can't wait.

The butchers at Waghorne's prefer to use local meat that has been raised in the old-fashioned grass-fed way without the use of intensive farming and lots of chemicals. You can tell the difference in the texture and quality of the meat whether you are buying a pack of sausages for a quick weekday supper or one of their beautifully butchered and tied joints for a special Sunday roast. As well as all the usual cuts of meat that you would expect from a first class butcher, there is also some exotic meat like venison, for example. You never know what might be there so I can recommend that you go along and have a look for your self

Really lovely home produced sausages, and the bacon is excellent. I also like the deli and cheese section, good variety and always tastes good. Friendly, helpful service

Paletilla de cordero en el Big Green BBQ fue un fanático y esta noche comimos bife de costilla, que fue el mejor que hemos tenido. No es el valor más barato, pero realmente bueno por la calidad de la carne.

We found Waghorne's after moving to Prestbury 5 weeks ago. We have ordered from them every week since. As part of the new normal we order online and collect. Absolutely faultless.

The meats and produce here excel anything locally, it is a joy to simply look at the traditional ways in which preparation counts, and customers return.

This is probably the best butcher I have ever visited. The products are of very high quality; both the fresh meat and the cooked products. Ask for advice if you need it - they are happy to help; or visit their website which has lots of information and advice.

This is a butcher you must go to the choice of meat and pies are excellent we are very lucky to have a butcher in the village as with all village businesses you use it or lose it like some villages they have lost them and will never be replaced David W

Without doubt the best Butcher in Prestbury - ok by default this the only butcher in Cheltenham... Their range of premium specialty steaks from round the world is not bettered in Gloucestershire. (They supply the Lygon Arms in Broadway) Local pies and pasties from Winchombe are pretty good too. No force fed supermarket plastic meat filled with water here !

I was rather surprised to find our local village butcher listed as a restaurant. That it most definitely is not, but you can buy all the high quality meat supplies you might possibly want plus oh so much more. Nigel and Nic have really pushed the boundaries on what they sell - highly recommended.

A personalised butcher who has the knowledge to source local, organic meats and then combine them with local greens to compliment the overall offering. Lovely and tasty.

Great local butcher in Prestbury. Well sourced local meat. Staff very knowledgable. also good if you want some Hobbs House bread.

While in Cheltenham for a few months recently, we discovered the Waghorne's Butcher shop on the High Street in Prestbury. The quality of their fresh meats, bread and cheeses is fantastic. The service very friendly, patient and helpful. Over Christmas and New Year, we bought a Turkey and a leg of lamb - A-one! Great place to have at hand.
