Went with the U3A lunch club. There were 12 of us. This didn’t phase them at all we requested to pay individually. More often than not this seems to set the staff into panic mode. Not here, Harry said thanks for saying now so he made a note of our names and what we had had and we all got an individual bill with the service. Well done to the chef who managed to get all the orders out together, no mean feat with the numbers involved, and food was delicious. The pub was spotless and very friendly well done to all those involved. Can imagine a Sunday lunch would be well worth a try ! Think my kitchen may be closed on a Sunday in the near future !!

Booked this pub for a wake after a funeral at Bluebell cemetery. Michelle was fantastic and provided a separate room and a tasty buffet of high quality for all 30+ guests paying attention to the dietary requests I put to her (mix of meat & vegetarian buffet food). I was particularly impressed that she prepared a completely separate plate of everything for a couple of guests (teens) with severe nut allergies who could eat as well as, and much as everyone else and not made to feel like the odd ones out. Her staff were lovely and unobtrusive, clearing away, dealing with requests etc., The team made everything very smooth and we were able to chat and share memories with friends in a relaxed and comfortable environment. Thank you so much! I highly recommend them.

Visiting the area, stopped here for lunch. Fairly quiet on a Friday lunchtime and only one bar person, but they were very welcoming, attentive and friendly. Had a wonderful lunch and the menu and specials offered plenty to choose from. I had the steak and kidney pie, hubby had the liver and bacon. Put it like this, there wasn't a scrap left on either plate! If we'd had room, we would've had pudding. There was a nice selection of real ales too, and the cost of the food and drinks was very reasonable. We weren't from the area, but I would definitely make the effort to visit again. Thank you very much!

Had my husband’s wake at The Three Horseshoes. We had viewed a few venues & I am so pleased we decided on The Three Horseshoes. We had the restaurant to ourselves, the food was good, I had asked for more vegetarian options which was readily done. Everybody attending commented on how nice the venue & staff were. There is plenty of parking which was important especially after a funeral when most people were travelling by car. Thank to all the staff for making the day so special for us.

Was sold this special day being Christmas Day 🎄🎅🏻 over the phone, was pretty much promised that the experience would be amazing and definitely not disappointed, couldn’t have been further from the truth. I had visited before in the summer and had eaten with no complaints, it was lovely. Firstly we stood around awkwardly looking for staff to show us our table, that look 5 minutes! Finally settled all squashed and crammed into a space between the door and bar. No one offered us any drinks I had to keep trying to get someone’s attention, finally when drinks came had dirty glasses, table overdressed so no room. Starter was good, so now the amazing main course, over cooked reheated roast pots that was actually missing granddaughters plat, no stuffing, pigs in blankets very little gravy. While we waited for all these to be brought to the table our Special Day I felt had been already very disappointing. We were then offered the bill and hadn’t even had our pudding I had to clear our table after each course so obviously I told them I was NOT paying the service charge. I was silenced by the governor with the offer of a bottle of wine to which I did accept, obviously! But I personally would not recommend this place for such a special occasion, especially at the cost of £466.00 less the £30 charge . Overall the experience has put me off ever going out for a Christmas dinner again, it was our first time and the lady said “we would not be disappointed lots of extras included ie: mince pies chocolates and games for the children, lucky we took our own colouring books. I’m posting this with regret and I don’t want anyone else to have have an experience as we did.

When you arrive at a village pub after a hot morning's hiking, you hope, first that it will be open; second that it does grub; and third that it won't be a gastropub. Bingo, the Three Horseshoes was just right: a normal English pub that does good pub food! Not to be taken for granted. Here I had three pints of Neck Oil and a lasagne and salad plus a side of chips. All exactly on point. I was hungry, and the meal was filling. Served piping hot--not always the case with lasagne. Cheesy sauce was tasty; the salad was well dressed; chips were chunky. Plenty of staff on, young and friendly. Just the job.

Our first visit to the Jazz afternoon with the new proprietor, having attended following the first lockdown and Tuesday Jazz nights with previous owners. The atmosphere was great and the marquee provided shade from the sun for those who wanted it. Sadly the food service let them down and our party waited 90 minutes from ordering our meals. We enquired after an hour and was told the kitchen was short staffed and only one chef working. Luckily we were enjoying the jazz and company of friends but the wait was unreasonable and unprofessional. The food was excellent when it arrived but by this time the musicians had packed up and left! A word of apology from the management should have been conveyed after the first 45 minutes at least and followed by an occasional update, instead of us having to ask the staff when passing.

It took 1.5 hours for our food order to come out and when we chased a few time’s with the landlady, she was so so rude, no apology whatsoever! Food was clearly out of a frozen packet and just thrown into the deep fat fryer so it’s not like it would take long, grim! My partner and I recently visited (with our little dog) having not been able to go for 6 months or so due to COVID restrictions and WOW what a transformation to the bar area and the garden! The renovation looks brilliant. The care and attention that's been put in over lockdown to make the place safe and secure for customers is also clear to see. Having visited a number of other pubs since they've re-opened, the Three Horseshoes has the most safety measures in place that I've come across. They've clearly taken every care to ensure its a safe place for us to come back and enjoy. With such a big garden, table service is quite the undertaking! But when you've got such a lovely space to enjoy and (often) live music to keep you entertained - what more could you want whilst you wait for your drinks. We'll be back again soon xxx

1 Mar Three Horseshoes. Visited for a 3pm Sunday lunch. The dining room is nicely furnished in a modern shabby chic style. We waited a while at the bar before we were acknowledged as the waiting staff were chatting to those already seated, which didn't give the best first impression, but once someone appeared behind the bar we were seated and the rest of the service was great, barring a couple of repeat questions where it was obvious that one team member didn't know what the other had / hasn't done. No big deal and certainly nothing we'd have said anything about. But I was delighted when the bill came and one of the waiters apologised that service hadn't been as they'd like and not what it usually was as they were unexpectedly short staffed. A great way to handle it! The food itself was great. A HUGE roast dinner and a very yummy dessert (see photos). Would definitely recommend and will be returning.

As a 72 year old living alone and with a 12 week self isolation guidance but not one for takeaways, I thought I would give it a try. So last Sunday I received a delicious sunday roast and a treacle sponge and custard. The roast was served beautifully and still hot. The treacle sponge and custard I saved for later and had it for my tea. Keeping with the social distancing I paid for it by bank transfer and michelle rang the doorbell and left it on the doormat. I will use this service again as long as Michelle can keep it going. A wonderful meal. Thankyou

Slice of stuffing and a Yorkshire pud. Crispy roast spuds and gorgeous gravy (not a jus!). Perfectly-sized portion, full, but not stuffed! Add to that a lovely pint of bitter and this was a great Sunday afternoon! Staff from the top down are excellent. Efficient and polite without being annoying. A family-run, welcoming pub. Just do it! Oh, if the plate had had apattern on, I would have licked it off! Perfect!

The garden was a little disappointing and the lunch was only average. The portions were quite large.

Popped in here for a drink before heading home! I'm sorry to say I left my drinks unfinished. The wine is awful! The malbec is like drinking vinegar and the white wine no better. There is no excuse these days to serve rubbish wine. The are staff rude and abrupt!

First impressions on entry were of an old fashioned pub due mainly to the carpet on the floor #unusual. However, we received a very warm welcome from a young bartender who was more than helpful with our food and drink order. Whilst the food was tasty, I found the presentation slightly unappealing. However, this was during the day and having read the TripAdvisor reviews I may be doing an injustice to the pub. It was pleasant but can't say I'd rush back. I mean no offence to the owner/manager or anyone at the pub on either side of the bar!

Hubby and I visited this pub last week with two friends for lunch. On arrival we went into the bar - which at the time was empty - this was around 1pm. Unfortunately, although there were several beer taps only two bitters were actually actually available which is always a disappointment for two men who are very keen on real ales and bitters generally. We took our drinks through to the restaurant area where there were three or four tables already eating. Quite a nice light bright room but unfortunately the two chandeliers that were in the main area were both flickering quite a bit which was offputting - as were the badly stained cushions on the chairs - not very appealing at all. We all had soup for starters which was very nice indeed and served with a grilled piece of ciabatta and butter portions. Fish pie, steak and kidney pudding, beef pie and the pasta special were the four choices made. The fish pie was very tasty and came with three vegetables and lots of grilled cheese on the pie but surprisingly the meat pie and pudding came out with just mash and a few peas - carrots would have been nice - the past was fine. One dessert was chosen which was spotted dick and custard which went down very well. We had a bottle of house white which was Pinot Grigio and this was around 17 pounds which was reasonably priced. We went on the bus to the pub which was an adventure in itself. Toilets were clean and tidy but I'm not sure how disabled friendly they are.
