It is a lovely restaurant that caters for needs. There is a large variety of food available. This is our chosen venue for team lunches and we also visited for Christmas. It has plenty of parking but advise booking if you want a larger table as you wouldn't want to be disappointed.

I have been to the Twig and Spoon twice in the past month and I think it’s safe to say I will not go back. The manager, Andrew, on both occasions has been so so rude, he has no customer service skills and it’s extremely sarcastic. We paid over £600 for 13 of us to have afternoon tea and felt like we were treated so poorly. On top of this the afternoon tea, a few sandwiches and a scone each was not worth the £40+ a head we all paid!!!

I’ve visited twice in the last month. Never again. First time was for my grandads 90th birthday. A much awaited and exciting event in our family. Food was lovely. Service disgusting. Especially Andrew … the manager who is a cold, sarcastic and extremely unhelpful man. He was extremely rude to my sister when she asked for the birthday cake to be bought out. Completely ruined the atmosphere. And today I attended the afternoon tea for my cousins baby shower. Again, an exciting and looked forward to event in our family. Yet again to be ruined by his sarcastic and jumped up attitude. He even embarrassed our lovely waitress by showing her up in front of the whole table. On arrival he told us that we had to pay for 2 afternoon teas of 2 people who were unwell and couldn’t make it. Those 2 people had also paid a £10 deposit … so what is the point of charging people deposits? Disgusted. Personally think he needs to go and learn some people and communication skills whilst trying to smile at his customers who are spending their hard earned money in his establishment. Will never return. Avoid.

Especially the manager Andrew. I had the prawn cocktail and my Dad had the Parsnip soup and for mains my mum had the eggs florentine, I had the fish and chips and my dad had the pie (Turkey and cranberry I think). To finish off I had a lemon posset. Like I said it’s a great place and really enjoyable and the food is excellent. It’s always 5 stars when we go.

We went for festive brunch today and it was thoroughly disappointing. The service was cold, the offering was meagre and the quality was poor. It was apparent that the cheapest quality ingredients were used, which is such a shame as there are some amazing local providers with good quality products. Such a shame that bookers cheapest was chosen. It is clear that the Instagram photo means more to the business than the quality of the experience. It was £20 set menu (which is expensive for a breakfast), but most things included a sur charge, even poached eggs on toast had a surcharge for bacon, which is frankly ridiculous. Poached eggs and pork fat on toast does not cost £20. It did say pastries included, which was one miniature each, microwaved so they were soggy. It was so abysmal I cannot put into words how disappointed we were. As locals it has become apparent that getting more money and providing an exponentially decreasing quality experience is the priority over the last few years.

She was so attentive, so smiley, couldn't do enough for us and was genuinely the most lovely lady. She made us feel so relaxed and made our visit really special; she also included my 4 year old in every interaction, got her a cushion to sit her up a bit higher and comfier and made her laugh and smile. Highly disappointed! If you're a shopper at the garden centre (woodlands) and think you can just nip into Twig & Spoon for a quick bite/drink, think again! Unless you've reserved a table and turn up then there's a high probability that you won't get seated, even with the place being 60% empty, and front of desk just explain that they are all reserved upfront Not the kind of treatment you'd expect from what appears to be a highly recommended place to go for a treat, certainly don't get the same from the likes of Ruxley Manor and Millbrook

The setting is beautiful, with a charming outdoor patio and a cozy indoor dining room. The staff is friendly and attentive, and the service is excellent. The afternoon tea itself was delicious. The selection of finger sandwiches, scones, and pastries was extensive and varied. Everything was fresh and flavorful, and the presentation was lovely. I only ever have their fish and chips, have never tried anything else. So the 5 stars refers to that one dish. Their Tartar sauce is the best, apparently home made. We have never had bad service. My wife always has something different each visit, ie Ceasar Salad or a Quiche followed maybe by the Coffee cake, washed down with the house white wine. Being the driver I stick to and recommend the bottled Apple juice.

As we had finished shopping at the varied outlets, etc in the Woodlands Garden Centre and before visiting the Kent Fire Fighting Museum (on the same site), we called in, unbooked, at the Twig and Sppon Restaurant (also on the same site) for lunch. Although they were rushed off their feet, we were warmly welcomed and a table was found for us. We were warned that there would be a delay but it wasn't as long as we were told it might be. There's a good and varied choice on the menu with Gluten Free options (which was OK for my wife) and a lunch menu. I had the Kentish Rarebit which was delicious. Good value for money and, when the bill came, it was pointed out that a discretionary 10% was included but that this could be taken off (amended) as the customer desired. Can certainly recommend.

Visited Monday 1st July 2024, with a friend. Had booked in advance online. On website the choices for eating are: Brunch, Lunch, Specials, Children’s and Drinks. I picked Brunch as table booked for 10:00. There wasn’t anything that took our fancy, however on enquiring to the young waiter were advised they had fruit scones, which when served were warm. My friend had hers with jam and cream (both served in little dishes) I had butter with mine. See photos attached. The absence of these and the variety of lovely looking cakes that weren’t on a menu, nor was there any indicator that these were available at that time could easily have lost them a sale as we were consider leaving. The restaurant is within a garden centre and there’s plenty of seating, both inside and outside, however booking is definitely recommended. We felt the presentation and cost were reasonable. A coffee, sparkling water, 2 scones £17.05. The staff were courteous and tables cleaned as soon as vacated.

We had afternoon tea here and the food was lovely and lots included. However, today I was disappointed as not once did anyone come back and ask if we wanted further tea or coffee ( which are the only drinks included). When have been to other afternoon teas we have always been offered unlimited tea/coffee especially as this is quite an expensive afternoon tea. They add 12.5 percent service charge which I think we should have reduced or taken off because no one checked everything was ok we were just served our food/drink and left to it. We were also in a small table that usually sits 2 and there were 3 of us so not much room to put the cups and food. Felt we were shoved in the corner to get more people in. I have given 4 stars as food was good but serviced lacked very much today

What would have been a lovely trip was spoiled by the entitlement of one of the members of the staff. Whilst asking for the bill, I asked for the discretionary service charge to be taken off and said that I would pay the tip in cash. Minutes later, a male member of the team came to take payment and was court, abrasive and clearly not happy. It was a shame that this happened because he saw no service charge included. I mentioned my disappointment about this to a female member of staff a few minutes later.
