Buxton Central, High Peak, 30-45£
14/04/2019: Gorgeous, high class food. On the expensive side but you get what you pay for and the food here is beautiful. Really romantic setting. Perfect for couples. Highly recommend to anyone.
07/04/2019: This is staggeringly impressive. Had a family dinner here and it was spectacular! Cooked to perfection, wonderfully paired and really couldn't have been better! I've been raving about it since - if you're in Buxton, it really is worth the visit. It's also worth going to Buxton just to go here.

John's House Restaurant

Stanford, Rushcliffe
19/04/2019: Went with friends for Lunch recently and all agreed it was a great experience. The Lounge area for pre-meal drinks is cosy (small!) but the staff did a good job in politely moving guests from one area to another in order to cope with arrivals.
14/04/2019: First time at this pretty amazing restaurant. Had the lunch menu which gave 2 choices each for starters, main course and desert. Starting with a warm welcome in this oldie world building adds to the ambience.

Restaurant Sat Bains

Dunkirk and Lenton, Nottingham, >100£
16/04/2019: Have been here twice and again it was an excellent dinner , very inventive without being confused, each flavor is properly brought together, top quality!
15/04/2019: My partner arranged for a taster menu and overnight stay at Sat Bans in January. I can honestly say that the experience was flawless from beginning to end. The touches in the room were lovely- e.g the Aesop bath products and speciality filter coffee. I found the food creative and well presented and staff were both knowledgeable and professional. I have seen some reviewers complain about the absence of smiling. Personally I find overfamiliarity unappealing when I dine out; if this familiarity is what you are looking for- I would perhaps try TGI Fridays. We loved how we had a copy of the menu to take away afterwards to remember this lovely occasion. Hopefully we will return one day.

Norbury, Derbyshire Dales
14/04/2019: Visited last Wednesday and really enjoyed the taster menu, we had the full taster which has some of the most amazing food and taste combinations that totally tantalise the palate. This young team just get better and better it is amazing the way they have developed from a team of totally dedicated self taught chefs, to be honest I visited a 2 star Michelin restaurant last week and honestly preferred the Lighthouse food. If you have not been you are missing a total food experience, visit and enjoy!
05/04/2019: Another lovely evening at The Lighthouse. The flavours are amazing along with the presentation.Staff are very attentive and so glad we live nearby. The take home muffins were a nice touch. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and look forward to our next visit.

Jackson Stops Country Inn

Greetham, Rutland, 20-30£
14/04/2019: Returning to Stretton meant a return to the Jackson Stops - a highlight of our visit with wonderful food. Service was great, polite but friendly and atmosphere was warm and intimate. Thoroughly recommended.
12/04/2019: A super lunch with locally sourced produce. The staff were very attentive and nothing was too much trouble. The prices were very reasonable for the exceptional quality of food. Would definitely visit again.

Packhorse Inn

Litton and Longstone, Derbyshire Dales
15/04/2019: Having read the reviews we booked for lunch after a Spring drive in the Peak District. There is roadside parking but, having restricted mobility, this was a disadvantage. We received a warm welcome, were shown to our table, good job we booked, and ordered drinks and food. This was outstandingly good; lamb and duck, both perfectly cooked and served pink were well worth the short wait. Compared to he main courses the sweets were not in the same category; my Bakewell pudding, served with good hot custard was lukewarm and were overpriced. There was only one member of staff greeting customers, serving drinks, taking orders and settling accounts which led to irritating delays Only other problem is that attention needs to be given to the toilets which were not as clean or well maintained as they could be.
13/04/2019: We visited this week - booking, certainly during school holidays, seems essential. It looks rather rustic inside and the only menu is on a chalkboard, there is no children’s menu but they offered my son two or three options. I did wonder how welcome children were though they were very accommodating whilst we were there. The food was really tasty, it’s obviously all freshly prepared so a fair wait for it but worth it. My ameretto at the end of my meal was served in a half pint glass, the table sloped terribly and we were crushed in a corner when anybody came into the bar but we had a lovely, cosy evening with good food.

The Saracen's Head

Clifton and Bradley, Derbyshire Dales
15/04/2019: Visited here for the first time, for lunch, today, & was very impressed.
14/04/2019: The only destination in the area that I enjoy every mouthful of the beautifully prepared food served by lovely waiting staff - well done and keep it up!

La Rock Restaurant

Sandiacre North, Erewash
18/04/2019: Our lunch was once again excellent. We started with a cocktail followed by a three course lunch. Can recommend the gin & figs cocktail. Each dish was superb with interesting presentations and wonderful flavours. The service was superb. Faultless.
03/04/2019: Most of the food was amazing! The service was great and it’s a lovely restaurant. Just make sure your bill is as it should be, we found extra items we hadn’t had and were charged a different menu price for our food, all sorted with no fuss though (just wonder how many people notice).

Hammer and Pincers

The Wolds, Charnwood
14/04/2019: I loved it so much here that I went back a couple of weeks later. Amazing food and brilliant service. Can’t wait to visit again
14/04/2019: Booked based on other reviews for a late lunch with my niece, nephew and son. Loved the warm welcome and the service remained faultless.

The Plough Inn - Shutlanger

Tove, South Northamptonshire, >100£
19/04/2019: This is a fantastic place! Went last night with family to celebrate birthdays. Rang before and asked if they could make a cake. The food was outstanding. Something for everyone from age 15 to 75!
16/04/2019: Visited on a Saturday night with friends. Although the menu isn't huge there is something for everyone. The food is imaginative and well cooked. Jessie is excellent as front of house, she has the ability to smooth over any potential issues and is very knowledgeable about the food and wine. All of us enjoyed our meal and will return in the not too distant future.

Durham Ox

Horncastle, East Lindsey
12/04/2019: You can forgive the faint smell of cat pee, if there’s anything to make up for it. Sadly, there wasn’t. My wife is from the local area, so we bring the kids to stay with family on a regular basis. We eat out at different places, and we always hope to find somewhere local that we can go back to. We’ve been there before, under different management, and we hoped for better this time, but we were sorely disappointed.
11/04/2019: Just had a beautiful meal in very pleasant surroundings, thoroughly enjoyed it

The Apiary Cafe Bar

Castle Donington, North West Leicestershire
08/04/2019: Visited on Sunday for a cheeky gin on the front. Nipped in to see if ang bad snacks but these afent served kn a Sunday the lovely land lady did me some roast potatoes with a side of homemade gravy they were delicious!! Thankyou
06/04/2019: Lovely food and service as always this lunchtime. I had a delicious lasagne and my friend, who is coeliac, had a vegetarian burger. She wasn't sure what to pick as she can't have gluten or maize, but the waitress was extremely helpful, suggesting options and checking with the kitchen to make sure she would be ok with what she ordered. Lovely surroundings and atmosphere. Recommended.

Stones Restaurant

Matlock All Saints, Derbyshire Dales, 45-60£
15/04/2019: We visited Stones again recently for lunch with friends and enjoyed another superb meal. The hosting and service are always impeccable, with a lovely balance between friendly and efficient, for which the young staff deserve great credit - they have obviously been well-trained! The quality of the food throughout the meal was of the highest standard, all beautifully presented and cooked to perfection. This is now our "go to" restaurant for a leisurely lunch with friends or family and we look forward to our next visit some time soon. In the meantime, we have booked to dine at the newly opened Bluebell at South Wingfield to experience the Stones effect at the new place - I'm sure we won't be disappointed! We cannot recommend Stones highly enough - if you live within reach or are visiting the Derbyshire area, it is well worth a visit.
14/04/2019: Service excellent, as was the food. We will definitely recommend Stones.... Atmosphere very relaxing and the menu had a good selection of courses. We throughly enjoyed our lunch here.

White Horse

Kings Sutton, South Northamptonshire, 20-30£
19/04/2019: Well what more can I say from all my previous reviews maybe just a bit more.
14/04/2019: We visited here and had a wonderful meal. The menu is varied, staff were friendly, service was fantastic. Food was delicious, the meats were great - not much fat, succulent, and the sides were tasty. Although this is a little on the more expensive side, we had a fantastic time here and would love to return.

The White Hart Grafton Regis

Cosgrove and Grafton, South Northamptonshire, 20-30£
13/04/2019: Been comeing here for over 4 years now and the food is fantastic well worth a visit also Sunday lunch is lovely big homemade Yorkshire puddings and fresh meats also there is a cottage on site which have stayed in a few times also worth staying in. Lots on the menu to choose from and a specials menu to choose from as well the lamb chops always a favourite or the home made chilli good dessert menu as well along with the friendly staff a must visit local village pub with lovely home cooked fresh food
13/04/2019: The white hart grafton regis is our favourite public house and restaurant in Northamptonshire. As people who dine out on a regular basis we feel it is fair to say many pubs in the area also offer good food and service but we do find that sometimes others do tend be rather 'hit and miss ' where service and quality are concerned. The white hart stands apart from the rest with the service, staff and food always being of a high standard . Well done all at the White Hart
