The best restaurants serving British food in England

Tuvimos un encantador almuerzo familiar allí para el fin de semana de Pascua. La comida era excelente, el servicio eficiente y amable, y el ambiente era relajado. Sin duda volvería de nuevo.

Traditional old English pub with some of the best food in the south east. This is our go to “local” from Great Notley, great selection of ales and ciders, plus your normal largers and Guinness. The house wine is always spot on. My reason for writing this review is the food, it’s just great. With no chain franchise to pay, the ingredients are always top quality, the menu is adventurous but supported by staple fare like the sumptuous hot pot, pictured below. The pub is dog friendly and the staff welcoming.

Love this place!!! Use to be a regular when I lived in the area as the food and service are always top notch and returned after 4 years and it certainly didn’t disappoint. All the food was great with high quality ingredients and the staff were helpful and polite. Will always add a visit to Oken tearooms when I am in the area. Oh and the scones were divine.

We visited the Ship Inn on wed 9th April for dinner... Lovely pub ..warm welcome as soon as we arrived ...we took our 2 dogs... we had the specials steak and Ale suet pudding h... the vegan stuffed portbello mushroom ..both were delicious....I had to take half of my suet pudding home as it was very big...we had to have the obligatory sticky toffee pudding and Apple and blackberry crumble for dessert...both were very good... very pleasant eve...St Peters historic church was just opposite and we wished we could of visited but unfortunately it was closed by the time we came out of the pub.... Would definitely return again ☺️

What a beautiful place to visit and for amazing food. The hospitality and service were fantastic. George was our waiter for the evening. He was awesome and so helpful and polite what was lovely. The staff are friendly polite and welcoming. The environment was spotless from the beer garden to the restaurant. The food was amazing and had a great range of options to choose from. This place is a hidden gem and we will definitely return . Thank you for a wonderful evening

Being regular lunch diners, I would just like to reiterate how lovely the Station Inn is together with the beautiful food, well presented and cooked as well as the lovely staff. Visited today and we were once again very pleased with everything, even down to the chicken which I asked to be wrapped to take home, wrapped in the shape of a chicken in foil. Such a lovely touch. Lovely cozy pub. Plenty of parking. Great ambience. Beautifully presented food. Seabass was spot on. Quite busy but didn't have to wait long for food to come out. Will definitely return. Compliments to Chef Graham.

Friendly staff good menu choice, opens early 8am which is a bonus. Scrambled eggs were nice Today had a nice beef roast lunch 😋 Hot roast beef bap with onions & gravy is nice too This has become.e my choice for Breakfast & lunch in Blackpool

Good pub for a lunchtime stop dog friendly

Beautiful views in this gorgeous old pub, the food is really fresh and there are always different specials beside the regular menu. I had the fresh crab salad and it was! Very fresh! Fabulous avocado salsa and perfect new potatoes, my husband had the beef and mushroom home made pie, he said it was the best he’d ever had, the staff are lovely and friendly, well behaved dogs welcomed. Definitely our new regular.

Friendly staff and a Steak and Ale pie that was worth the visit.

Several of my friends and I were camping down the road and booked in, locals we got talking to were lovely, there was a great vibe to the place and the food was fantastic. Food was expensive but warrented the cost with how nice it was, you get what you pay for! Would highly recommend!
