The Tees'pot in County Durham

This place is amazing! The staff were really nice, and the food was delicious. I believe we as a family only ever went for Breakfast, but it was really nice even if we only went for Breakfast. The toast they did was lush (as said by one of my family members) and so was the English Breakfast. (with Toast, at least I think so) The toilets were easy to find in case we needed to get to them, and the atmosphere of the place was just outstanding. As much as my family would love to come again, we only came here because we were on holiday and it’s a bit too far for us to drive so I don’t think we’ll have a chance to come again, but I’m sure other customers who come will have a really good experience. Personally, I hope nothing but the best for this place and the staff who work there because this place and the staff deserve it.

Extremely rude staff. I was going for lunch and as I entered a woman cleaning a table did not even look up and simply said ' you will have to sit there' pointing to another table! 'Actually, as a customer, I do not 'have' to sit anywhere and so I left. As this was obviously a foretaste of the standard one would endure I am glad I did leave. I left a similar review on another site and their lame excuse was that they were 'busy'......really? This is their poor excuse for rudeness. Their staff should learn some manners and they should stop their paltry and pitiful excuses. AVOID......One just has to laugh at the nonsense of this poor deluded woman to say I would not be welcome back......No doubt this is how they treat people who do not care for their appalling food and service......as IF I would return!! I wont but environmental health will!!! Place needs fumigating...... TERRIBLE smell

One of the best gluten free carrot cakes I have had. Moist, tasty and not overly sweet. Wish I lived nearer to get some more. Lovely, helpful and friendly staff who, as I had bought multiple slices, gave me a box and birthday candle.

The food was fine, what I expected, home cut sandwiches, and a good pot of tea. The service was very friendly, and the atmosphere was colourful when some mature bikers came in for a break after coming from rain soaked Cumbria.

A lovely teashop very clean and friendly staff,however we were very disappointed with our meal which was from the specials board,I had corned beef pie,chips and mushy peas,my husband had steak pie.The chips and corned beef pie had no taste,the steak pie was nice ,both pies were very small pieces.It looked like they had some lovely cakes and scones so maybes we would have been better having them.

Went in for a cake and coffee. The cake was excellent and the staff were very welcoming and friendly. My dog loved the fuss he got!

We are a party of 8 and had breakfast at the cafe for 2 days. The food was delicious and the service friendly and efficient. The full breakfast was made with good quality produce. Thanks for making us poached eggs even though they weren't on the menu they were lovely. Would definitely recommend eating here.

Grabbed a coffee here after a run. Staff were very friendly, coffee was good. Cash is preferred here, but if you've not got any on you they're perfectly relaxed about it.

Stopped off for brunch. Got a warm welcome from staff who were very accommodating. Food was good; sausage bap and cup of tea. Will definitely make a return visit.

Lovely spot to sit in the sunshine just off the Teesdsle way. We had delicipus cherry and almond and pear and ginger scones fresh from the oven. Super dog friendly including biscuits for Bertie.

My husband and I were travelling and stopped off here twice. Such a gem of a place! Lovely staff and yummy vegan options - try the vegan sausage roll. Great cakes and outdoor seating. Highly recommend!

Fantastic experience here. My friend & I had breakfast here 3 days in a row. We were staying in area for a music festival. Staff were so friendly & couldn't be more helpful. Food & cosy environment was excellent, we'd highly recommend. Thank you so much!

Once again I treated my husband to afternoon tea on Fathers' Day at our favourite cafe in Middleton. We ate little beforehand as the portions are not small! Sandwiches, pork pie, scones, crisps and lovely cakes were nicely presented and tea/coffee was replenished when needed. We love their bakewell tart and scones. We have always found this cafe clean with a wide variety to choose from. Prices are very reasonable and the afternoon tea is only £15.00 per person. We have never been treated with anything other than kindness, friendliness and courtesy by the lovely team here and will be back again soon but afternoon tea will only be on Fathers' Day as we don't want to put on too much weight!

Called in for lunch while on a motorcycle ride in the dales. Excellent menu and went for the days special. Great quality food and service with a smile,( Rare these days!) Would thoroughly recommend.

Been here a few times. We absolutely love it.as soon as you open the door the welcome is amazing, so warm and friendly. Even our dog Charlie loves to go.( might be the sausages) so clean.and lovely food.

Don't review often. On this occasion I had to respond to a the low star rating. We walked to this Cafe from Holwick. We had a " good morning " from the waitress outside, even before entering the Cafe. The place was full. The staff were very attentive and friendly. Great coffee and scones. We asked if there were any buses back to Holwick. Silly us Buses ? The owner came over and said if she hadn't been so busy, she would have taken us back herself. Thank you for being so kind.

It might have been the most welcoming place I've ever been! We, a family of four and a large dog, turned up on a cold spring late for lunch, covered in mud after a walk in the High Force. The dog was greeted with some biscuits and water, and we were offered many suggestions of yummy delights. Specials were interesting South African curry which my husband enjoyed and I had a Tee's Pot pie. We were full after a full lunch and dessert but took some savoury and sweet scones back to our accomodation. Thoroughly enjoyed.

Called in a few weeks ago. We were visitors to the area, and with our greyhound. The cafe was full at the time. So on suggesting we would take a short walk around the town, they stated that they would reserve a table when one became available. So glad they did. Great coffee to accompany our soup and sandwich selection. I also tried a ginger and pear scone out of curiosity. Spot on. Thank you to all the staff, friendly and excellent. And thank you for Jessie ( our greyhound). And thank you to all the other customers. All of them were very pleasant too. Especially the local older man on the adjacent table. Lovely people, food is amazing since I was 14, not often you can sit watch the world go by and have a mountain out the corner of your eye, we go on a regular basis and will continue to do so.

Got there just when they nearly closed. So accommodating opened kitchen back up and made us food. Had some home made Tea Loaf afterwards which was so lovely and moist. A big thank you to the staff.

An absolutely lovely little cafe! We had Cajun chicken sandwich, mushroom soup, fruit scone and carrot cake and everything was really nice. The staff were lovely too and as it was my birthday they even brought out a piece of cake with a candle and sang happy birthday! Would recommend to anyone looking for homemade food at reasonable prices.

Lovely spot very friendly the bakewell tart was the best I've eaten anywhere also had a cheese scone which I'd personally have preferred cold just my preference came warm but was still OK will know next time just to ask not to have it heated up. toilet up very steep stairs so not accessible for disabled. Overall a very pleasant experience will definitely be back

A beautifully placed cafe with wonderful friendly staff. The food was delicious and cheaper than most places I had been trying to find. The portion size was perfect too. I loved the little things they did to go extra with my meal. The fact they offered a substitute for the fussy eater I am after asking to take a couple of things off my order isn't always offered at other places. But even the request if I needed my pot of tea filling up with more water was nice too. Dog friendly as well which is a bonus. Also loved the little touch when asking if I wanted white or brown and offered a mixture of both. Gave the team a small tip which they were over the moon with. Would highly recommend and will definitely be coming back sometime in the future. Great stop off if you're thinking about visiting the nearby High Force as well. Thank you everyone involved.

Gluten free scones was scrumptious, so was the bread roll. Our main meals were delicious and plentiful. Homemade coleslaw was one of the best 👌. The staff are friendly and helpful and they welcome dogs 😀

Called in for 3 full breakfasts. Great service. Quality, perfectly cooked, not at all greasy with superb local sausage. Our birthday boy even got treated to a delicious birthday scone delivered with song and candle! Very reasonable priced, especially considering current costs these days. Faultless.

Disappointed when a "homemade " meal is served with frozen vegetables not fresh Plus dried reheated oven chips certainly not the meals we we're expecting. However a clean pleasant little establishment with friendly staff.

Cake and cuppa and the end of our walk, stopped off at the Tees pot. Seating available inside and outside - we decided on inside.... tea for one and a cappuccino and to go with a slice of cake each - carrot cake and chocolate orange cake... hence to say too slow to take a photo of the cakes.... clean and tidy tidy, friendly staff and and walkers are welvome. Certainly no complaints - just what was needed after 8.5 miles 😊

11 of us called at this lovely little cafe on the way to Ravenstonedale and I would highly recommend a visit. We all had a lovely lunch of sandwiches and soup which were very tasty. The staff were very attentive and friendly. We will visit again if in the area again.

Walked from Mickleton to Middleton-in-Teesdale along the Tees Valley Railway path and fancied a bit to eat when we arrived and found this place. Really enjoyed our lunch here. Lovely friendly staff. Service was great. Would thoroughly recommend it if in the area.

Cracking little cafe right in the heart of Middleton-in-Teesdale. We stopped off for breakfast here and it was superb, heartily recommended if you're passing.

We were staying locally and were advised to have breakfast at The Tees'pot. It was great advice. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The cafe itself is small but very homely. The wonderful array of cakes, stones etc, is very tempting. Thank goodness we were full after a hearty full English breakfast. The best start to the day in quite a while. Well done and keep up the good work. We will return.
