Lovely wee café in the centre of Middleton in Teesdale. Cream tea for £5 per person! Warm fruit scone, butter, jam and clotted cream, with a huge mug of tea. Excellent value for money. Rapid and friendly service. Highly recommended.

Out with our walking group, called in here and sat outside. Fabulous, really lovely people, fast service, lovely cup of tea, sandwiches were fresh and delicious. Will definitely return.

What a cracking little cafe this is. Firstly the name is genius, very good play on words. We popped in today after stopping off in Middleton, and we are glad we did. The staff are so friendly and welcoming despite been very busy. We ordered a couple of meals, pie, peas, chips and gravy and quiche, chips and salad. Both were very tasty and the price was very good indeed. A big cup of tea and a nice sunny view made for a lovely afternoon meal. Well worth a visit.

We have moved to a caravan nearby for the summer and have been to this cafe twice now. The first time we had lasagne and second visit we had cheese, tomato and pesto paninis. All the food is very tasty and reasonably priced. The scones, particularly the pear and ginger, are lovely too plus the sticky orange and chocolate cake. We are intending to have Fathers' Day tea there and have booked as they only have six tables inside I think but tables outside alongside the footpath. In spite of being very busy the staff are always friendly and welcoming. We will put on weight if we keep eating here but fully intend to do so!

Had to ask if our order could be taken. Jumbo sourdough sausage bap was 2 big sausages in a small bap! Ordered bacon sandwich on white bread and it came in a large white bap! Hot chocolate luke warm and out of a machine. Service wasn’t great either!! Won’t be going back!

Stopped for a quick latte and cake on my hubby's birthday, not only was the coffee delicious (and Im v particular about my coffee) the cakes and scone were so tasty and the lovely ladies made a fuss of my husband for his birthday and gave the puppy some biscuits

We were visiting Middleton-in-Teesdale and stopped here for a snack. Very pleasant and managed to get a seat outside. Scones, toasted tea cake and drinks. Reasonably priced. Covid rules in place, one in one out, card payments accepted. Pleasant enough refreshment stop.

We had a lovely cuppa and cream tea here. Lovely choice of scones. Lady who served us was lovely. Nice cosy place. We sat outside. There were tables upstairs and downstairs inside. Very quaint little village.

We have visit Michelle n the team since getting our puppy Albert who has always been welcomed and was part of his socialisation we have continued to support the teespot through the lockdown and they have adapted but still top notch service and friendly staff we wouldn't go anywhere else. Love this place, such welcoming ladies working there who love dogs and make a fuss of them. Great food, home made and good value. Quirky inside with lovely pictures and cosy layout.

After a 4 mile walk we stopped here for a hot drink each. I had hot chocolate which was delicious! We sat in the sun outside the cafe.

We visited for the first time last weekend and enjoyed a large mug of Tea. Staff very friendly and Michelle the Owner has some of her lovely artwork displayed in the Cafe. Outside seating was full so we sat inside. Cakes /Scones looked delicious but having had a late lunch we didn't try any on this visit.Went back again this weekend and we tried the Fruit Loaf and Banana Crumble Cake. Huge slice of the Banana Crumble Cake which I couldn't finish and gave to my friend who said the Fruit Loaf was good too. Again big mugs of tea. Will definitely be returning when we are next on our motorbikes in the area. Can recommend.

Popped in for breakfast while staying nearby. Food was lovely and staff very friendly, cup of tea was so huge I could barely pick it up! A great haven away from a rainy morning, with a wide selection of meals for the whole family.

With the sun beating down I have had the pleasure of a coffee whilst sitting on The Hill admiring the beautiful motorcycles that come and go. Well worth a visit.

WE were staying in the area and earlier in the week, we went to the Hardware Shop next door but it was late afternoon, but The Cafe closed at 3pm. In the village again at lunchtime, we sat outside The Tees'pot with our dog and had Homemade Steak Pie Chips and Mushy Peas, followed by lovely Carrot Cake, my favourite. We will visit again when in Teesdale. Lovely warm welcome

My wife and I decided to do a walk . Middleton up to High Force and back . On our return my wife noticed this lovely little place . Waited In que obviously social distancing .I had a capacino coffee and my wife a Yorkshire tea plus a home made cheese scone . Everything was top quality and the lovely lady who owns the place couldnt be friendlier .Would definetly recommend and will be back cheers

Due to the lockdown for my birthday we ordered afternoon tea Well what can I say it was fabulous there was a selection of homemade scones,sandwiches,pork pie,fancy cakes,cream and jam and crisps. Plus a suprise birthday cake It helped to make this a special occasion.

New to the area and finally got around to popping in for a spot of lunch.I’m a fussy vegetarian and there were lots of options the potato and cauliflower pie was fantastic and my husband enjoyed his lunch as well. It’s a lovely cafe in a fantastic village with lovely walks from the doorstep and even waterfalls nearby.We bought two cakes to takeaway and they were lovely. There are lots of gluten free and vegan options so this place is great for people with dietary requirements but plenty of good options for people who don’t. Thanks for a lovely meal and will be back again soon

This a great place to stop for coffee & cake. The cappuccino was excellent & we both had chocolate & orange cake which was very moist & tasted really good. Our dog was made very welcome & the staff very friendly.

Stopped in for a quick lunch on a rainy Saturday and the warmth of the greeting made us feel sunny! Genuinely friendly, good food at a very reasonable price, and lots of lovely local dogs (and their owners) to chat to. Thoroughly enjoyed it!

Small cafe in centre Middleton in Teesdale. We always call it the Scone Shop. Sells all flavours of freshly cooked scones with jam and cream. Also delicious cakes. Total yum!! Also do main meals such as pies and paninis and home made soup. Again very good. Staff are very helpful and friendly and you dont feel rushed.Dogs are welcome and get biscuits brought to table! It is quite small so can often get busy. We often go there for coffee and cake! Well worth a visit if you are passing!

As the road from Alston to Penrith was closed we had a long diversion to travel south. That being the case we were lucky to find this welcoming cafe. Pleasant service and good food, with an art gallery upstairs.

Great coffee with delicious home made cakes and scones. Well worth a visit while in the town. Toilets a bit difficult if you have mobility issues.

My Mum and I came to the Tees’pot for some breakfast before heading to the fells for a day of walking. We both had a breakfast sandwich one sausage and egg and the other bacon and egg. Both of us commented on the quality of the meat in the sandwiches - it was clearly local produce and good quality meat. The sandwiches were also piping hot so fresh out the kitchen! The service was fab as well with a group of lovely ladies who made us feel very at home. We will return when we next visit Middleton.

I called 9n this morning not knowing what I fancied to eat. Michelle recommend the Pork in Sourdough bun with salad and chips. It was absolutely delicious The pork was so tender salad fresh and chips just right All washed down with a cup of coffee

Plain simple tasty lunch after a nice gentle stroll from Mickleton. I had the bacon sandwich cooked to perfection. My other half had the pannini cheese and ham he was very satisfied, Staff very friendly and welcoming only wish we could have managed a seet treat maybe next time.

Stopped off at the Tees' Pot on a bike ride from Kendal to Spennymoor. Great welcome and lovely food - even loads to choose on a vegan menu. Michelle and Kathryn were very welcoming and really looked after us. Would definitely call in again.

Called in Sunday morning 6th October, full English and sausage and bacon sourdough roll. Both were lovely, very reasonably priced and lovely staff, would definately recommend.

Called into the Tees’pot Cafe Sat 21st September after a park run, for a large sourdough bacon sarnie, which was excellent. We spotted there were pear and ginger scones in the scone availability and we decided to treat ourselves to one each, served with the recommended apricot jam. Absolutely the best flavours in a scone we’ve had in a long time. Served warm and so very tasty, not too sweet. We think they’ll go well with salty cheese and honey too, but highly recommend pear and ginger scones from this delightful cafe.

We visited The Tees Pot after a trip to highforce. The cafe is small but cosy and I believe they have another room upstairs. During our visit I ordered a coffee. When our drinks arrived they came with a biscuit shaped like a teapot. On several occasions we were asked if everything was ok. Staff were friendly and chatting to customers. I cant comment of their food as we only had drinks.

A group of four of us were having a day trip from North Hertfordshire and stopped for lunch at this lovely restaurant. Although it was busy the service was excellent and the ladies were happy to chat and made us very welcome. There was a good selection of main courses and desserts and we all thoroughly enjoyed what we had. We will be back!

Lovely little tea shop that we stopped at to refuel during a long bike ride. The staff were lovely and the food was delicious. The vegan flapjack is AMAZING. I think it contained a lot of golden syrup - perfect for powering me up the next few hills.

This is a regular stop for us after a walk in or around Teesdale. It's a popular and lively spot especially with walkers, cyclists and bikers . There's a good range of tasty snacks and cakes. Always very friendly and a good atmosphere.

Popped in for lunch and had the most delicious homemade quiche, one of the nicest quiches ever, so tasty. Lovely friendly staff and even the dog got a treat, great that its pet friendly. Cant wait to return to try one of the pies, they looked lovely too.

They opened early especially so we could pick up packed lunches for back the Back Walk. Great packed lunch...cheese savoury sandwiches and delicious home made millionaire's shortbread.

We needed a sandwich and cup of tea for lunch on Sunday. This was recommended by a pub that doesn’t do food on Sunday. Busy but efficient, and welcoming staff. She even took a cup away because she thought it was a bit stained. Sandwiches were good and good value.

A tiny cafe on the edge of Middleton in Teesdale. Peaceful inside. Friendly staff, welcoming to dogs, Ada allowed inside and given water and treats.

Excellent little cafe in the village with a history going back to the 1930s.

Called into the Tees Pot on Saturday whilst we were out training for our Mighty Hike walk next month. After completing just over 6 miles, it was a welcome stop for a much need coffee. Sat outside in the sunshine (we were early and the sun was out) our lovely large coffees and hot tasty sandwiches were delivered very quickly. I had the sourdough bacon bap and my husband had bacon and egg in a brown bap. Delicious and we know where to head to next time we are out walking/hiking.

Popped in on our way back from a night away. Had a bacon and sausage sandwich and a sausage and egg sandwich. Lovely and piping hot. The bread was amazing! We also had a latte each which was lovely! It’s a little bit away from where we live but next time we are in the area we will be back!

I visited this great cafe for lunch yesterday while on holiday from the Midlands. Following a warm and friendly greeting I enjoyed a delicious meal outside in glorious sunshine .

Had a lovely family meal here today. Lots of lovely cakes too. Not that I had room for any after the lovely home baked sour dough bap with my burger, salad and chips. Might pop back to try the cakes later in the week.

Spotted the Tees'pot while driving to High Force, and made a point of finding a parking space on our return so that we could drop in for a brew and cakes. Middleton is a busy village... and this was a freezing cold weekend!! We parked up the other end of the village and walked back (past a few other cafes, which didn't manage to lure us away from our target).

Very nice breakfast and good coffee... the staff are very friendly too. There is seating inside and out but it's not that big. We'd go again!

Only small but very welcoming happy to make variations if you ask, as I did, lovely cuppa too, they welcome dogs and walkers so suitable for everyone well worth a visit.

My boyfriend and I visited this cafe today and enjoyed a lovely meal. The staff are very helpful and friendly, and the cafe is nice and clean. As a vegan I enquired about food options and the waitress was very informative, also there were 2 or 3 options available. I decided on a soy cappuccino and a baked potato with beans, and a salad. The food was well presented and tasty, and the soy cappuccino was delicious. My boyfriend had steak pie, chips, peas and gravy which he enjoyed. I would definitely recommend this cafe and will certainly call again, there's something for everyone here.

Pop in here for a quick coffee while my car was been fixed just up the road, but once I seen there food I just had to indulge in a breakfast, and what a breakfast it was. Every thing on my plate was perfect ! You could tell your were eating fresh local produce of the upmost quality! Not had chance to pop back in yet but I will definitely be back soon I highly recommend this place just on the friendlyness of the staff never mind the unreal food and latte I had ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Took my dad out for a birthday drive to places in his past - we stopped in village and close to the car park was this little tea shop. The welcome was outstanding, as if we had been going there for years, the food was really good and simple and at the end they brought in a small cake with a candle and sang happy birthday - my dad was tickled by that. We will be back and if your passing and need a cuppa this is the place to stop.

This is a wonderful Café. You have to go, you have to. Friendly and efficient staff where nothing is too much trouble...the coffee doesn't take for ever to appear, tasty food and staff know when you want/don't want a chat 😊 We're going back!

Thought I would support local cafe as they started doing Sunday lunches. Absolutely disgusting. Worst Sunday lunch ever. £7.95 for frozen Yorkshire pudding frozen roast potatoes frozen veg. No taste at all. Only thing that was edible was the chicken. Staff said they have limited space in the kitchen so couldn't do fresh. 1st and last time on a Sunday. Disgusting.

Great lunch and tea shop. Friendly service well presented, good value food. Great baked goods. Welcomes hikers and offers a boot scraper so you don’t need to track muddy boots inside.

A group of friends and I were midway on a walk between Cow Green Reservoir to Barnard Castle. After the first 15 miles we piled in the cafe with my dog, all covered in mud, carrying rucksacks and generally cluttering up the clean and neat dining area, as well as destroying the tranquil and calm atmosphere that the patrons were previously enjoying.

Called in for a cooked breakfast whilst on a biking day trip around the area. A very friendly reception to a hungry group with copious cups of tea and great locally sourced food. Next time I'm in the area I will be revisiting the Tees'pot.

Came across The Tees'pot by accident. I wasn't disappointed by the service, choice on the menu and value for money. A great place to keep out of the rain and wind. Very friendly staff and conveniently located on the main street in Middleton In Tees. Hot food available, locally made cakes, and a very tasty caramel shortbread. No hesitation in recommending The Tees'pot.

Sat outside just missed the rain and baked in the sun watching the world go by. Two coffees one cheese scone and one fruit both warm with just butter. Staff very friendly. Lovely and can recommend it. Will go again

We chanced upon this delightful little cafe when walking in Teesdale with our dogs, and what a find it was. The owner and staff couldn't have been more welcoming to us and the dogs - a little bowl of dog biscuits to start with while we chose our coffee and cakes. The coffee and cakes were excellent - we will definitely be back for more!

Popped in after our walk, lovely big pot of tea and super choice of cakes and scones, many gluten free.

Spent a lovely week in Middleton and found this great little cafe. My husband and I had 3 meals here and every one was tasty and filling, all home made. Also called in a couple of times to get scones to takeaway, these were also home made and very nice. The ladies serving were all very friendly and nothing was a bother. Highly recommended.

We called here today after walking from Low Force to High Force.we were warmly welcomed by the ladies in the cafe. The freshly baked scones were recommended to us so we both had cream tea with sultana scones, strawberry jam and clotted cream accompanied by a large teapot of Yorkshire tea.

We visited here after a trip to Eggleston Hall Gardens, the weather had turned and it had become cold, we had our little dog with us and the Ladies who ran the cafe said we could sit inside with her, so that's what we did.

We went here for lunch. It looks clean, ladies are very pleasant. Food reasonable priced. It was a little cold inside but it was a very cold day when we went. You can sit outside. Menu was good. Something for everyone.

Gerat coffee here in a friendly environment for visitors, locals, walkers and dogs. The curried cauliflower soup was fantastic, and the cheese scones divine. New on the menu today were veggie and meat home made pasties - which were also great. Such a treat to have such well made tasty home made food.

Stopped here on way from Dales to Beamish. Fantastic little coffee/tea shop. Fabulous scones & really friendly. Highly recommended. Very varied menu, (including vegan) & great little art gallery.

Stopped off on our bike ride at this lovely, welcoming cafe. We’re keen scone makers - but the Tees’pots carrot and ginger scones are something else - scrumptious! Definitely worth a 40 mile bike ride for such a treat!

Visited with a friend for lunch. The new owners have redecorated and refurbished, lots of nice touches. Clean and tidy. The food was great, and the ladies who work there were lovely. What’s not to like?

I was surprised to read the last comment - I have noticed that there are always two home cooked pies on the menu, and plenty of vegetarian options for those of us who prefer it. Just come away after sampling the best cheese scones I have ever had along with a proper coffee.

The cafe is now under new ownership and has been improved no end, it is now clean and welcoming.

This place used to be one of our favourite places to come. It did lovely home cooked pies and traditional hot homemade dinners along with gorgeous custard puddings like apple and ginger sponge. Came today to find they have changed their menu. There were only a couple of specials for hot food, then just sandwiches. Walking around the rest of Middleton in Teesdale all the other cafes were exactly the same. The pubs are rather expensive, so it was such a shame to have lost this cafes amazing home cooked hot food. I do hope they will review the menu again and bring this back, it gave the cafe the advantage over others and now they're just serving the same kind of food, there are other cafes with better outdoor seating unfortunately!
