The Quarry Teahouse is a must visit. The cafe is lovely and unique - there aren't many cafes that transport you into a different world of pink. Kids will find it so magical. There's plenty of gluten-free options. The food is tasty, and the cakes are in another league. The staff are so warm and friendly. It's a truly gorgeous Teahouse! Recommend!

I really liked the Quarry Tea House. It was prettily decorated and quirky. There were 3 rooms inside and tables outside as well as 4 external wooden "booths". The service was excellent. The ladies took our orders and delivered our food and drinks promptly. NB, you pay when you order. The food was delicious and nicely presented. I can recommend the chicken, bacon and avocado sandwich with side salad and coleslaw. The portions were large and I didn't have enough room for any of the lovely cakes afterwards! Everything was fresh and there was a counter where you could buy cakes, pies and quiches to take away. There was also a small shop where you could purchase gifts and cards. An excellent place to visit.

Now THE QUARRY TEA ROOM. After a lovely Sunday morning walk around Hunwick and the River Tees, we popped in for lunch. Tea, choc milkshake, chicken & leek pie c chips, bacon, Brie & cranberry quiche c salad £26. Not cheap, but delicious. Sadly no room for desserts, which looked delicious. Clean toilets, indoor and outdoor (off street) seating, lovely staff.

This place is a treat ....from the décor to the VERY tasty sweets. Judging by those who were having late breakfast around us they looked scrumptious...so we'll be back to try for a meal from a good looking menu! Lovely service and very novel interior that is both beautiful and well done...obviously someone for a good eye for colour, matching and interior design. Beautiful conversational interior worth a visit on its own. Cant understand why its called "Quarry..." but don't be put off. Should be called something like "Barbie 'Dolls' Place" or "The Best Little Tea House in the North"!!

Visited first because I was given a voucher and returned twice so far, most recently as a treat for my birthday. Fantastic little place, perfect for brunch. Even my teenage son gave it thumbs up which is rare. Both savoury and sweet dishes are amazing, there’s good choice and the cakes to buy on the way out are too tempting. I would welcome the ability to book tables in advance. At the moment it’s first come first serve so if you’re unlucky with timings, you may wait a while for the table. Highly recommended!

Jan-24 Not rooms, but a tea house/cafe. Went for breakfast, good selection of options on menu. Went for cooked breakfast but tea options limited (no natural decaf options). Sadly, breakfast was disappointing with bacon seriously overcooked (took some recognising as bacon as so dark, and so tough as to be sinew) which spoilt the overall. Seats were pretty uncomfortable too (wooden). I'm hoping is not usually like this as nany speak highly of it, but for us it was disappointing.

I just happened to drive by and spotted the all pink ,with hearts and flower tea house. From outside it looks like a doll house , really pretty. Inside ,as you head into the right side of the place there is a lovely open fireplace, a big display with all their cakes and the tables are sectioned into tiny cozy rooms full of colour. I would have loved to sit there, as the view is facing the beautiful hills. Unfortunately I assume all seats were taken, as I was offered to sit on the other side , just as you go in, passing their mini shop with various lovely ornaments , in a wooden decor constructed tables, benches and high stools. The concept is great, but the wood work not so much. Besides the rough look of the badly cut timber , split timber with screws not screwed all the way( watch your clothes), the top was not leveled, making it a bit tricky to not spill your glass/ mug. I ordered a caramel latte that camed fast but had way too much caramel, so , as much as I appreciate the generosity, it tasted like a flavoured cough siroup. The foam on my latte was nowhere to be seen as they burned the milk. The breakfast I had was okeish, I would have expected to exceed a tad for the price. To explain, the egg and cherry tomatoes and beans were the only ones to be hot while the rest was almost cold. Although cold, they were again really generous on the bacon, which I didn't finish . Presentation of the plate very pretty, with heart plate, mini pan for the beans , a tiny cup for salt and pepper. The staff was pleasant and polite, I found it a bit weird that we had to pay after you just ordered, and initially was under the impression they are only asking me , as , to be honest, I was dressed really bad- like I just left the construction site..., but then I noticed they were doing this with all customers . I wasn't expecting this approach in such a small village, but , anyway, their shop, they can do whatever they want. I had a look at the garden as well, same fairy ,pink, cake concept. Despite the downsides, I will visit them again, and I think you should too!

They've definitely gone for a sugary sweet, cutesy style with the café decor. Went for breakfast, which was both very good quality and good value. Service was friendly, but not the fastest. It took 10 minutes to have our order taken and 40 minutes for the food to arrive. That was the only negative really. Hopefully this isn't the norm. They also ask for payment as the order was taken, which isn't usual in my experience. The café also had a very enticing bakery counter... might have to visit again to try those!

Second visit here and did not disappoint. It is more expensive than your usual cafe/tea house but the food is very good as is the ambiance/decor. I had hot beef sandwich and chips. This was £10 , the beef was very thick and the chips home cooked - lovely meal and very filling. Saying this drinks are reasonably priced whereas some places are charging double for a soft drink and deserts were average prices so it balances bill out. Visited as family of 4 and it cost £60 for lunch. Everyone really enjoyed their choices. I can’t wait to sit outside in the nicer weather. Outside area looks lovely

Gorgeous cafe in hunswick. There is a lovely flowery room, a grey and pink room (where we sat) and an outdoor area. It's a really beautifully presented cafe and takeaway and gift shop. The food is amazing, we had breakfast stack ( veggie) and strawberry and Nutella American pancakes, home made pancakes were excellent. Presentation was lovely on matching heart plates and the food tasted great and about average prices. The cakes looked absolutely stunning!! The staff looked really well presented, very polite and clearly happy in their jobs. Could do with a bit more flowery deco in the pink and grey room. I loved the spoons the only thing we don't like about it is that you can't reserve a table as I live just down the road I could walk here but I don't do it that often because I don't know if there's going to be a table when we arrive. Another thing was that I was disappointed that they didn't sell jams and chuctneys but all and all the food was lovely and the service was professional and prompt the only feedback I have is on the bacon it was too chewy but everything else was top knoch well done Quarry Tea House.

So this pub has now changed to a tea room and had a complete transformation. It is incredibly girly inside pink pink and more pink, almost like it’s been made purely for Instagram and the hope it’ll attract young girls to take mountains of photos. Luckily the day we visited it was full of female friends catching up but of the older kind which was great. You had to pay for food upfront, never had that before so it was a little strange but ok if you’ve been stung before from customers walking out maybe, business got to do what it’s got to do. We had brunch which was filling. Initially the plate looked like it could have done with a little more food but wow it filled you. I would go again however I wasn’t wowed to the point I want to return asap. It does look like it has a good customer base and filled up quickly. Staff behind the counter on the day looked like she didn’t want to be there but the female who served us did so with a smile. A breakfast cost £11. A breakfast sandwich £4.50.

This place is amazing! The staff were really nice, and the food was delicious. I believe we as a family only ever went for Breakfast, but it was really nice even if we only went for Breakfast. The toast they did was lush (as said by one of my family members) and so was the English Breakfast. (with Toast, at least I think so) The toilets were easy to find in case we needed to get to them, and the atmosphere of the place was just outstanding. As much as my family would love to come again, we only came here because we were on holiday and it’s a bit too far for us to drive so I don’t think we’ll have a chance to come again, but I’m sure other customers who come will have a really good experience. Personally, I hope nothing but the best for this place and the staff who work there because this place and the staff deserve it.
