The decor is STUNNING. Rooms are fab - obsessed with the free standing bath. The breakfast was the nicest breakfast I have had (& I have had a lot of breakfasts out!!) everything cooked perfectly including the poached eggs! The bar is so cosy. Staff are so friendly & can’t do enough for you. Definitely will be back.

Just went in for lunch, not sure of accommodation services. Lovely choices on menu and food was delicious. Staff were understanding of a disability and attentive to adjustments if required. One chicken goujon sandwich, one posh fish finger sandwich and one Steak & Ale pie with mushy peas. All with hand cut chips. Fish fingers and chicken goujons were freshly battered and more than adequate portions. Delcious. Chips were best we have had for a long time. Heaps of beautofully braised steak in pie and the tastiest gravy! Can be accessed from front (main high street) or rear (through beer garden, outside of which there are multiple car parks). One of our party struggles with mobility and had a four wheel Walker. Both entrances have access ramps and although a few steps, there is a hand rail available and were manageable for her. Definitely recommend. Will be back.

Food nice staff friendly venue might as well have been sitting in a fridge. Been here a few times without any issues, tonight the place was freezing. Went into bar area ordered drinks, place cold asked if the staff if they would light fire (which has normally been on in the past ) staff said didn't think it would be lite tonight( which up till now is the coldest night of the year with snow predicated tomorrow)but we could move to small dining room which we did. Sat at the window, radiator was on but massive draft. Put coat over radiator on further inspection behind the radiator is a larger circular hole (the type for a vent) which is uncovered blowing a gale.(At this time of year could be an invertation for pests coming in) Been that cold has spoilt the evening.

Stayed 2 nights, attending our niece's wedding. Absolutely amazing. Couldn't fault anything. Hospitality, Food, Accommodation, first class + The wedding was very personal with every detail perfect. Being Bedlington born and Bred, now living in Yorkshire, this was very much 'Coming home'. A fantastic 2 day stay. Very highly recommended. Thank you to all the team at Lairds House.

Been meaning to book for breakfast for a while after enjoying Sunday lunch and today was the day - waited about 25 mins for breakfast which was ok as expected it was being cooked fresh and we were given hot drinks quickly but really disappointed to be served a breakfast with good quality ingredients that was in the main stone cold. The beans seemed to have been decanted into a cold metal pot , egg was cold and a bit snotty and the sausage felt like it had been cooked on a radiator.

Absolutely amazing stay! My partner and I stayed last night, with our pup, Milo. We arrived later in the evening, but still got the most impeccable service! We were shown to our room, and offered a different room to suit the dog, which was perfect for him! Despite him being nervous and barking a bit (sorry about that), everyone was so lovely! We cannot fault anything! The breakfast was amazing, and even came with a little extra something for Milo!! We will definitely be back in the future! Thanks again! :)

Forgot to take a pic didn’t I! Yes, it was that good, I was halfway through the lunch when I realised I should’ve taken a pic. 3 of us went for the beef with the vegetarian among us opting for the vegetarian roast with vege sausages. The dinners were delicious including the vegetarian sausage exclaimed my daughter. All had a decent serving along with side dishes of vegetables and topped off with a huge Yorkshire pudding and plenty of gravy. We followed up with some nice puds to take advantage of the 2 course for £19 special. All in all, excellent food and great service from the staff who were friendly and quick with the drinks and food. Highly recommended.

I grew up in Bedlington but now live in London, and came to the Laird's House for a friend's wedding. The ceremony, the dinner and the evening do were all provided by the Laird's House, and I also stayed over and had breakfast and lunch there the next day. Honestly this is one of the best experiences I have had at a small hotel. The wedding arrangements all seemed really smooth and accomodating, the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful and the food at all three meals was really good. The decor in the rooms and downstairs is nicely idiosyncratic (think turn of the 20th century) and feels cosy and welcoming, and in keeping with the historic building. I also learned to my surprise that Bedlington has a sea view! If I was to make one note it would be that not everybody likes brioche buns at every opportunity (eg breakfast bacon rolls) but honestly that is personal taste and massively nitpicking. All in all, really well done to everyone at the Laird's House who contributed to a lovely weekend.

We went to eat at this restaurant 20 minutes away from Whitley Bay. It is a Giorganio-style stone place, very imposing both outside and inside, a little ornate for my taste. The service is not very fast, despite having ordered food for 9 people in advance, it took almost an hour to serve everyone. I ordered a Northumbrian rebeye steak, medium rare. The dish was very well served, it looked appetizing, but the meat was a little tough. Quality/price seemed correct to me

Had a lovely Sunday Lunch I. The restaurant. Kim our server was lovely and the food was the best lunch I’ve had in a long time. Had 3 meats which were tender and juicy. Extra gravy was no problem and was sooo tasty. Yorkshire puddings the size of your face!! The veg was fresh and crunchy. Would be better to charge more per course, rather than supplements on everything on menu. We stayed all afternoon and watched the singer. Highly recommended !

Firstly the staff were excellent as was the breakfast. The let down for us was the cleanliness and general appearance of our room. The place lacks a bit of tlc. We had paint peeling from our ceiling, dust on the majority of the flat surfaces and a hole in our bed linen. Shame really as it could be so much better.

Food is delicious but needs to be served more organicly so you can actually eat it. Service was good. Decor is nice. Sadly, not a quiet place for a meal seemed to have a lot of locals sat at the bar with rather yucky tones and stories.

We reserved a table for 10 on a busy Sunday lunch and had a great family time. The interior is rustic but that is part of the appeal to us. The highlight was the service and the flavours of the food. To say how busy they were the food came at an appropriate pace. The flavours were delicious and the range of veg fantastic. Some of the meat had gristle in it though. (We all had beef). Different selection of puds. Lovely time worth 5* review

A true hidden gem in Northumberland. The Carts Bog offers a warm cosy retreat after whatever day you've had. The atmosphere was welcoming with a roaring fire and country music on in the back ground. Service was great and everyone here is so friendly, especially the couple running it. Graham is truly passionate about food and catering for people. The dishes he's put together are just proper comfort food, warming and delicious. I had the steak medallion special which was cooked to perfection, followed by the best Sticky Toffee Pudding I've ever had. Usually the sauce gives you that tickle in the back of your throat and leaves you feeling sickly, not this pudding! Warm, velvety and leaves you begging for more. All the other puds are made on site too and are equally delightful. If you're passing through or a local, please give this place a try, I'm confident you won't regret it.

It's a hidden gem and an award winning pub! You've got to step inside to appreciate it so I'll not give much away here. Quirky lovely decor that made us really smile especially when you walk through the red 'telephone box style' door! Little details like reading glasses provided, if you've forgotten yours and need help reading the menu. 😀 Real roses on the tables! Good tasty food, affordable price, prompt service, friendly staff...it was a really nice experience. Only downside is limited parking spaces which may be difficult when busy.
