Met here with family for Sunday lunch. The pub is lovely. Area that is dog friendly which was brilliant. Also they have a separate restaurant as well. As we had a dog with us we stopped in the main bar area. This was great as they have a log burning stove which kept us lovely and warm. Lunch was very reasonable with a choice of beef, chicken, turkey, scampi ana veggie option. All just £9.95 Puddings were also reasonably priced £3.95 although not a huge choice. Although I still gave it excellent because of the atmosphere and reasonable prices.

Mothering Sunday and we were treated to Sunday lunch at the Miners Arms Inn, Acomb, we have been before and have never been disappointed. The menu was carefully placed on the reserved table and on arrival welcomed and offered drink, after a short while we were asked if we were ready to order, with additional starters offered. I chose the mushrooms in a creamy garlic sauce and it was amazing so tasty, my wife had prawns which were gorgeous. We all went for beef which was so tender, it was magnificent the whole meal hot but so tasty and very well presented. Despite not being on the menu I asked for sticky toffee pudding and custard which was of course available and again so tasty. This amazing pub/restaurant is like a jewel in the crown of the county of Northumberland, Great Food, Amazing Service at very reasonable price. The Miners Arms truly deserves an award for its amazing food and service.

Despite living locally in Hexham this was our first visit to this cosy, friendly pub for Sunday lunch. With a warm welcome the landlady offered us seating outside, in the bar or a room to the rear (which we chose). Some chain pubs have a massive menu but it's all pulled from the freezer, here the chef has designed a simple manageable menu which covers a wonderful range of food. The mains included beef, pork, chicken, fish and vegetarian options.I choose fish coquettes, which were beautifully presented with a light salad of lettuce, pickled cucumber and fennel and accompanied by a creamy sauce. The coquettes were wonderfully light with a hint of lemon peel giving them a fresh flavour. One of the nicest starters I've ever had in a pub!We both had the main course of rare roast beef which arrived laid over perfectly cooked roast potatoes, and topped with a large Yorkshire pudding. Ample mashed swede, and carrots and broccoli were on the side. A request for extra gravy was no problem. This was a large main course! I was forced to leave some to allow room for the desert was was even better than I anticipated!A nice range of deserts, and I went for sticky toffee pudding with butterscotch sauce and homemade ice cream. It had to be the best I've ever tasted! The portion size was generous and the flavours and textures awesome.Overall staff were friendly and attentive without being overbearing. We would highly recommend this as a "destination" pub for anyone wanting a really special meal at a reasonable price.

Called here from our rented cottage in Otterburn. We'd been here last year and found it so good that we wanted to come back. Sadly (for us) they were not doing meals that day because it was the landlords birthday and they were having a party. (Can I say he's 60!!!). We had a drink anyway. The landlady's daughter (who we remember was arranging her wedding last year) arrived and she, too, was very friendly and welcoming. What a lovely family atmosphere!! Anyway, as we were having our drink we were invited to join the celebrations!!!! How lovely. We declined because we needed to have a meal. We happened across this lovely little pub because we got lost!! Such a lovely mistake to make. We were staying at a local campsite in our campervan. The people running the site recommended The Miners Arms. From the moment we walked in right up to the moment we left we were treated like regulars by the very friendly landlady. The locals made us welcome too!!! Even their daughter was friendly and chatty. It looks to be dog friendly too. The beer was excellent and the food, though limited in choice, was obviously freshly cooked and very tasty. The Cumberland sausage was to die for. Cooked to perfection. This has got to be one of the best small pubs I have ever visited. It's well out of the way for me but if I'm ever around that way again I'll certainly re visit. 2 drinks, 2 meals and a sweet came out at less than £30. Great value. Great service. Great pub.

There's always a good atmosphere with a well stoked open fire and good crack all round. In reference to the review by Tyneside blonde, you couldn't get further from the truth.
