Fabulous food, great staff, lovely restaurant/pub. Highly recommend. We will definitely rerun when we are next Northumberland! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This is a great pub. We went for drinks at lunchtime one day and a few days later for Sunday Lunch. A warm welcome from the young lady behind the bar, and friendly conversation from customers made it memorable. Lunch on Sunday was very good, pink roast beef, beautifully cooked vegetables and crunchy roast potatoes. The serving staff were friendly and smiling. However, on this second visit there wasn’t the same atmosphere at the bar as on the first visit. It was just a bit too distant and disinterested.

We stopped in on the recommendation of our Airbnb host, and she was spot on. The food is amazing. We had the Sunday roast and espresso martini dessert, and it was so good we came back the next evening for duck and steak. Fantastic food, one of the top three for Sunday roast that we had this trip to England. May need to book, as it was pretty busy both nights, but it’s worth it!

Just across the road from where we were staying at Warenford cottages. Surprisingly good food and very friendly. Dog friendly too.

We dropped in for an early afternoon drink whilst on a walk. The weather was wet, snowy and cold. The fire near the bar was well alight. Host friendly and inviting, and a good atmosphere was present with locals having a post work drink. The range of ales and drinks available is good. This pub has a very good feel, and not pure 'gastropub', so we booked for dinner that evening. We weren't disappointed. Great menu, ...not a burger in sight, but all home cooked game, fish, and some vegetarian options, with nicely thought-out dishes. I had the Beef Wellington, which was substantial and beautifully cooked. Veg just right; slightly al dente. My partner had the pan fried calves liver, which of course I tried. It was the best liver I have had; again with fab' gravy / sauce etc. Dessert was a raspberry & white chocolate baked cheesecake to share. Very evidently homemade, properly baked, good balance..... it was delicious. Overall, for the quality of the food and ingredients, it was very good value, (and the pub spotlessly clean.) Service was warm, friendly and unintrusively attentive. The restaurant area is to the rear of the pub, and nicely connected to the bar. Dogs and walkers welcome. We highly recommend anyone in area to drop into the White Swan, whether for a drink or food. If you're staying at Lucker, this is the place to go. We eat in many so called 'high end' pubs, and rarely do you get the good experience we had. Congratulations to the hosts and chef, we shall be back.

Can’t recommend this place more. We ordered the duck, steak, lamb, scallops and beef wellington - each dish was outstanding. Lovely service too

If you are in Northumberland… you have to make the time to visit here!! The food is amazing… best I have ever had to such a high standard but such a reasonable price! We cannot wait to visit again when we next visit.

Another superb meal at this lovely pub. We are staying In our caravan just behind this lovely pub. The food but also the staff are fantastic nothing is a bother. Food was outstanding as was the service see you on new year's day .

The White Swan is in top form at the moment. Wonderful varied menu, brilliant food, friendly efficient service, tasty beer and food to die for. Really if you want to experience cooking and food as an art form this is the place to go. We had a superb meal to remember tonight and can't wait to go back again to try some other fine dishes.

Lovely pub/hotel and perfectly located for exploring the North East. Some lovely touches including fresh cakes, sloe gin, fresh milk and the nespresso machine. The bed was clean and comfy. However, some attention to detail was missing eg the room was really dusty and it needed a good hoover. The ironing board was badly stained and needs a cover. Breakfast on the other hand was delicious and cooked especially for us, with plenty of choice, and the evening meal also excellent. The staff were all super friendly.

Great place and loved the food. Excellent menu, would definitely return to this restaurant. Good service but felt very rushed which spoilt the experience a little.

Quiet location, ideally placed for the wonderful Northumberland coast. Lovely rooms and wide choice of breakfasts to select from. The evening meals were really delicious. This was our second stay here, this time with more family (due to our recommendation), and we aim to book again.

Superb meal chosen from a really varied menu. What a hidden gem. Highly recommend. So much more than just pub food. Attentive service and lovely staff.

Dropped in for coffees on route, lady was happy to serve us and very pleasant, lovely wood burner alight really cosy. Would consider it as a stop over hotel in the future.

Return visit to the White Swan for weekend in beautiful Northumberland. Lovely stay in nicely equipped room with nice extras of home made cake and scones. We are in the restaurant which has a great and varied menu - seems to be the place to be as busy with great ambiance.

• Wonderful stay at the White Swan in Warenford, whilst visiting Lindisfarne. Staff extremely accommodating. Paula rearranged the room from a double to a twin for us in double quick time. Fab breakfasts and two wonderful evening meals. Liver was so tender, lemon sole very fresh and flavoursome. The baked fig was extremely moreish. One of us has complex food allergies which were accommodated with apparent ease by the chief ( it is a real skill to modify a dish at short notice and still produce a unique and flavoursome meal). Emily, Lucy and Sandra served us and we’re very friendly and helpful. The room was well appointed and the complementary cake to doe for. Would highly recommend.

Had a wonderful evening meal here, on the recommendation of our hosts, whilst in the area on holiday...the food was excellent, service friendly and prompt and the prices very reasonable... thoroughly recommend for drinks or a meal!

Stopover trip for golfing break. Staff very attentive

The White Swan was recommended to us as a local place that's not generally visited by tourists to the area...more just by locals - and that's always "right up our street"! Booking probably necessary. You won't be disappointed. Both the food and the service in this region has actually made us want to move here. It's that good! A really very excellent menu and service!

The food was top notch, there was a bit of a mix up with our booking which was pointed at me, until they looked properly in their diary to realise it was them. Landlord slightly on the abrupt side. Stayed in the car park overnight in our motor home

We had a fabulous meal here Wednesday night- fantastic food- compliments to the chef and excellent service. Very clean surroundings and tastefully decorated. Thank you for an enjoyable evening.

Lovely atmosphere with friendly and helpful staff. We had beef wellington and seabass all cooked to perfection. Followed by pear strudel and crème brulé. The food was delicious and of good quality. I would have preferred puff pastry instead of short crust pastry on the beef wellington but that's a personal preference and didn't detract from perfectly cooked beef. I would definitely go again, the meal was delicious.

Very pleasant atmosphere. The quality of the food is really excellent. Scallops starter, melt in the mouth served with pork... brilliant. For mains, we had duck and Beef Wellington, both cooked to perfection. The generous portion size made it good value. It was great being able to have our dog query us in the bar, which was a very nice setting. Service was also very good.

First class place to stay food great and breakfast too it’s a must most of the time booked so you have to be lucky probably more chance out of season as it only has three rooms

Comfortable stay in quiet location. Room was clean and we were supplied with home made cakes daily which was a very nice touch.Bed was extremely comfy, bathroom could do with updating and a general freshen up. The bathroom didn't smell very nice, but the flooring perhaps needed replacing- it was quite stained. Fresh milk and water bottles were also available from a fridge in hallway along with fruit. The majority of staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was excellent in the restaurant. Overall a good stay and we would consider staying again. Its negatives are that it could do with a decent spruce up outside, replacing weeds in pots and window boxes with flowers - (or even just remove the weeds) , it would make such a difference to that all important first impression and although the bar and restaurant areas were good, a general update to ‘tired’ areas in inner hallways and bedrooms would be beneficial.

Fantastic place. The owners made us feel welcomed and the lodge where we stayed with our dog was PRICELESS AND PRIVATE. Hot tub incl. Meals were 5 star excellent chef

The bath in Room 3 although very large was really difficult to get out of as the bath had a base covering that was really slippy and you couldn't get a grip with your feet

We stayed in the Warenford View cottages opposite and walked across the road several nights for some great food. The bar is dog friendly, for eating and drinking. The food was amazing. Highly recommend it.

Tapas selection offered from 12 - 18, visited on a Saturday afternoon hoping to enjoy, 6 people were in the ‘bistro’ but we were told they were too busy so not doing food!

I booked this pub for a meal for my mum's birthday which we were surprising her for. The food was lovely, the 6 of us all had something different and were all very impressed. There is a car park but it isn't massive, we were very lucky to get a space. I would definitely recommend eating here!

This restaurant, being slightly inland from the coast, offers so much more than those in nearby Bamburgh . Well worth a few mile's drive. The venue is pleasant, the menu was interesting, the food excellent and the wine really good value.

Had 2 night stay in the lodge which was fabulous. Everything you need in the lodge including robes which we used after hot tub. Little extras lovely touch cake wine and sweets . Ate in the pub restaurant 1 night food was outstanding staff very friendly.

We had dinner here for my husband’s birthday and it was gorgeous. The pub is so pretty and decorated with William Morris wallpaper. It feels in keeping but modern. The food was delicious and with so many tempting options you’ll want to visit more than once. Service was quick and attentive.

My wife and I have dined many times at the White Swan whilst on vacation in the area. Our latest visit was 3 days ago. The food, wine, beer and service were all excellent. In fact, it was so good that we’ve booked another meal at the hotel before our holiday comes to an end.

We had a fantastic 3 course lunch. Scallops on pork belly with sweet chilli sauce - best scallops EVER and the pork was so tender it melted in your mouth. My husband had steak for his main meal - cooked perfectly to his request and I has fish curry - really tasty. I had blueberry and white chocolate croissant bread and butter pudding with custard for desert - Amazing 😍 my husband had Creme brulee - he said it was delicious. Excellent service, attentive staff. We would recommend. I understand it gets busy in the evening, so booking highly recommended.

Busy Sunday evening. No roasts available so the menu was revised. Really nice food but obvious they were struggling with a long day's service.

This establishment treats those who have money to spend terribly. They double booked a table of doctors and lawyers. Extremely rude staff, who are dishonest and disinterested in correcting any mistakes they made. McDonald's treats their customers with less contempt.

We went for lunch and there was a lot of complicated dishes available. The food I had was delicious but duck overcooked to my liking but still very tasty. Others in the group didn't enjoy their food and said parts were very dry or too intense with one flavour. They removed the complaint dish. The parking area could do with some work and imagine gets busy. We went about 13:30 and we were the only ones in except staff which was odd. Staff said it's packed later in day, we didn't see that. What I had was nice but unlikely to return when back in the area.

Excellent restaurant food with lovely beer and wines. Only needed magnificent staff to be perfect and they were!

Had Sunday lunch and we both agreed it was our new favourite and we have tried a few. Really cant fault a thing, meat was perfectly cooked , all the veg were spot on , great touches like home made bread and fresh mint sauce , not lazy jar stuff. Will definitely be back, probably stay for a weekend sometime.

I rarely have beef as it’s often such a disappointment, was lovely here though, cut correctly so not tough and not overcooked either, al dente veg, great service too, not hugely expensive, we’ll recommend

Set in a lovely location, not far from some beautiful beaches and pretty villages. Rooms spotless, bed very comfortable, beautiful bathroom, my husband enjoyed the slo gin, left in the room and we both appreciated the home made cake everyday! We ate there 2 nights, the food was good as were the breakfasts. We took our two Border terriers, who are both well travelled and know how to behave, when they are staying away. However, although it says dog friendly, not sure the owner a dog lover, also not one for being big on conversation, unless you were a local. Just our preference, a little bit of pleasantries makes you feel welcome.

Lovely pub with a nice atmosphere. Went early in the week in the afternoon so not very busy. It is February after all . The landlady and locals were really friendly. Nice warm fire too. They do food in the evening apparently.

Already recommended to friends to go and stay. Fantastic dinner, lovely waiting staff, delicious breakfast. Why no 5 stars? Oh, shucks, its such a great place it just went back to 5×. Just be careful of stairs and bath. OK, it's a restaurant with rooms in my view, and a wonderful example of that. Couple of points need attention. Access to Bath/shower is a difficulty, water/boiler/dunno constant noise was there all night, doubt not much can be done, just kept waiting for it to stop. It didn't. Everything else at The White Swan is so good, please go there and have delicious food, drink very good wine, and enjoy your kipper(s) in the morning.

Just got home from a two day break here for my husbands birthday. The area is beautiful and peaceful so very quiet day and night. The white swan is in an excellent location for visiting all areas of Northumberland and is a stunning place to stay. Our bedroom was lovely and cosy, we loved the little tipples left in our room daily as well as the gorgeous cakes, a perfect added touch. We ate in the Inn one night, in the bar area with our dog, staff were friendly and welcoming, gets busy so book. The food was very nice, I'm fussy so would have loved generic pub food such as pie and chips, gammon steak etc, but the food we ate was very fancy, cooked and presented beautifully and tasted great. We ate breakfast both days and had full English, the food was tasty, seemed good quality produce, good portion size, hot and I was full till late afternoon. I wouldn't change a thing about this place and can't wait to visit again. Thank you

Amazing food and service, a hidden gem

Been going here for a couple of years now, roughly six monthly. Always an interesting menu with something for every taste. Staff are lovely. The head lady is the master of a well oiled machine.

Would go again. Be good for a group.

We had lunch here based on reviews from TA and were very pleased we did. It was quiet on a Monday for a late lunch and the outside didn’t look too inspiring but inside is very pleasing with an extensive menu. My wife and daughter shared two starters mackerel and asparagus salad while we chaps had the venison Wellington and sea bass. Good local beer and well worth a visit.

Beautiful Inn and dining room, food was outstanding as was the service and all within a COVID safe environment, a must visit again experience.

We stayed for a few days at tbos great place. The room was really comfortable and the daily fresh cakes were a real delight. The breakfast was superb, and the pub has an outstanding restaurant with an excellent menu. You must book as it is really popular. Definitely recommend you visit if you're in the area.

Stopped in for a quick drink and a dessert after a long day exploring the area. Really welcoming staff, great beer and amazing desserts. I had the chocolate torte and my girlfriend had the apple strudel. Absolutely lovely.

We so enjoyed our meal, that we booked twice more ! The selection on the menu was wide and we wanted to try lots of the dishes. They were well presented, good quality, and it was all very efficient and friendly. Booking is essential. Looking forward to our final meal there...this holiday....

We were staying at Lucker Hall and wanted a celebration meal out, so we chose the White Swan. The food was delicious and, as a vegetarian, I was delighted that I had several choices. The service was excellent and the Covid safety was good. We enjoyed our visit so much that we went back a couple of days later and had another great meal.

We had two nights here to explore the area and it’s a good base, easy to find and very nice. Definitely more of a restaurant than a pub.We were more than pleased with the room. Very good size, huge bathroom with deep claw foot bath with rubber ducks! Also the marvellous chocolate cake and cheese scones along with the sloe gin went down very well. It’s very busy for evening meals.We ate here both nights.I was disappointed with my chicken roulade and risotto, it was very under seasoned and over cooked. The other wild boar pasta was good and the second night’s food, lamb and fish and chips were good. Staff were lovely really on the ball, efficient and friendly. Portion sizes were huge even at breakfast. All in all a very good time x

So many tempting choices on the menu - lots of locally sourced produce and some interesting options including a couple of good veggie dishes. All dishes beautifully presented and delicious. Main course portions are on the large size - hate leaving/wasting food especially when it's this good. Also meant there was no room for one of the enticing puddings. Friendly service.

We have just visited Warenford & stayed over the road. The food was great & reasonable priced. We booked in for 6 days & had a great menu to choose from. Booking is a must. A lovely friendly pub with great staff.

Recommended by The Old Vicarage, Belford and the meal was truly excellent. Just wish they had a 'branch' in Hampshire

Really enjoyed the food, it was some of the best we have had in a very long time. Only wish we don't live 3 hours away! Staff very nice and prices reasonable.

We ate here for three nights after a great meal on the first night. Great service! My husband’s rib of beef was super as was the lemon sole. You do need to book as very popular.

Booked for our first night in the area and were expecting great things based on all the positive reviews. Maybe we arrived on an off night but wasn't expecting the guy "welcoming" us to tell me we were half an hour early, despite me having an email confirming the time. He was clearly annoyed and made it plain it was a big effort to get us seated. Quite embarrassing in front of my friends. Anyway, it really put a dampener on the night which was a shame as the food is excellent - large portions and delicious, especially the wild boar ragu. The ladies serving were also very friendly but I'm afraid we won't be back

Fabulous food , great service, great staff. Family of six all had different starters and mains and every dish was excellent. Oh, and the Guinness was perfection.

We booked a table for the final night of our holiday after reading reviews and were glad we did!The pub itself is just off the A1 so really easy to get to and has really nice character and decor. We were escorted to the table and the COVID social distancing measures are good, so no worries there.I had a lovely pint of IPA whilst we perused the menu and had a really difficult time choosing as there were so many tempting options. Including wild boar, venison and some great fish dishes.My wife and I both had the scallops with pork belly and a pineapple and chilli salsa to start and it was absolutely delicious. I followed with rack of lamb and my wife had the hake wrapped in ham served on a bean cassoulet which she said was fantastic. My daughter had the ribeye steak which was a bit fatty and as she hadn't eaten much the waitress did offer to get her something else which I thought was nice. As we were all stuffed we weren't going to order dessert but having seen plenty pass our table that looked lovely decided to share a chocolate brownie which was fantastic!All this drinks and a bottle of wine cost £126 which I thought was good value considering the excellent quality of the food. A special mention to the young waitress too, she was really friendly and uber efficient.A great way to end our holiday and we will definitely return when we next visit. It was very busy so remember to book ahead.

We are on holiday and booked the White Swan for a meal both Sat and Mon. When we arrived Sat they had no record of the booking but despite being busy they went out of their way to find us a table. The food was outstanding on both evenings and all the staff are polite, friendly and helpful. This restaurant is outstanding on every level .

Although only staying locally for 3 nights we were so impressed with the menu, food and service on our first visit that we booked again for the last night. Book early as tables are ih high demand!

Excellent! We turned up late and at the last minute. We received a lovely welcome with really attentive staff. The menu was delicious and it was really hard to choose what to eat. We will definitely come back.It's great to know there is accommodation here too. Based on what we have experienced this far we imagine the rooms would be really lovely!

Just been for lunch with friends - the first time in over a year and found it a disappointing experience.The glasses on the table were dirty with one also having lipstick on it.Having looked at the menu we all decided to have a main course and dessert. Although Scampi wasn’t on the menu and she would be happy to have the fish and chips on offer, my friend decided to ask if they did have any scampi and obviously offended the proprietor who explained that was something that was bought in and pulled out of the freezer....We ordered fish and chips for everyone and asked for extra tartare sauce. The fish and chips arrived and sachets of tartare sauce were plonked on the table. The fish and chips were lovely. We declined the sachets of tartare sauce and made do with the portion of homemade tartare sauce on our plates.Desserts were ordered - Banoffee cheesecake and a Roasted Strawberry and pastry cream Mille Feuille. The cheesecake was awful. It tasted as if it was an old cheesecake that had come out of the freezer with slices of banana that had long lost the texture and taste of a banana and could have bounced them off the walls. The cheesecake seemed to have been covered with some kind of gelatine which was almost impenetrable.The other dessert was best described as a sandwich of thin pastry filled with pastry cream and 2 blow torched strawberries on the top. Caramel sauce was extremely thin on the ground. Ice cream was nice.On paying we were asked if everything had been alright we mentioned about the cheesecake and got a very blasé response, no apology.A very disappointing experience as I have been many times before and always had a good meal but don’t think I’ll be back anytime soon.

We have eaten here many times, most recently in last night. It was superb again. Great two course meal with very pleasant and attentive service. They can adapt their meals to be gluten free, which makes it ideal for me and so that makes things easier. A large selection of drinks is available with plenty of local gins. Four of us were eating and no one could find any fault with any of their food, clean plates all round!

Great place near to Belford, just off the A1. Plenty of menu choice at reasonable prices. A good selection of drinks.

Visited following a recommendation and we had a fantastic meal and the wonderful team looked after us. If you are ever near Bamburgh you should add this to list for places to eat out. I eat out regularly and rarely take the time to submit a review but on this occasion felt I had to share what a great place this is. Covid safe too. Will definitely be back.

Booked a table here after reading reviews before traveling into the area and we weren’t disappointed. Really lovely setting and the food was absolutely outstanding. Definitely worth a visit .

Recommended by the owners of the holiday cottages we were in -- they even phoned and made a reservation for us !! A quick walk across the road and we entered a well set out bar and dining room. The staff could not have been more helpful -- lovely people!! VERY COVID SAFE !!! The food was delicious --- Especially the Apple Strudel and Rhubarb Ice Cream -- so much so we went back for a second visit !!!! Thank you to all staff for making us very welcome and safe

The food here is second to non, just off the main A1 you would be doing yourself a disservice not to eat here. Your taste buds will thank you for it. It’s very popular so booking is advisable. It really is a gem of a find in lovely Northumberland.

Warm welcome, Covid compliant. Our mains and desserts were excellent, with a Rioja from the extensive wine list. Highly recommended as we will return.

The owners of the holiday cottage recommended the White Swan ... what a great recommendation! We booked a table mid-week ... dinner was available from 6pm. The menu was very varied and all of the food that we selected was excellent ... the veg provided was also cooked perfectly. The whole meal was a great dining experience and the service was just right.

Staff wonderful, Ema first class. Food was simply delightful, value for money brilliant !!definitely would recommend and with out a doubt I will be back. The white swan has a truly fantastic menu. 10 out of 10.

We booked a table earlier in the day, for dinner. Well spaced tables, a bit surprised waiting staff were not wearing masks. Very tempting menu, food was outstanding - and very generous serving sizes. Everything was really delicious.

Visited mid September had booked a table in advance due to the covid.We were promptly met at the bar by a waiter and seated.Ordered the mackerel for my starter and my partner the fish cakes. Both starters were beautifully presented and very tasty.For main we had the breast of lamb and the pigs cheeks,got to say the standard of the food was second to none.The staff were very polite, the service was excellent. The restaurant was very clean (the loos too).Will definitely return and recommend to our friends who regularly visit that area.Can't wait to return, hope it's as nice next time!
