The Irish curry is nice. The fish are nice , but not as nice as compos in Holmfirth . But still really nice. The sausage was cooked to perfection and everything was well presented.Very yummy

The staff are always really friendly and very clued up on cross contamination procedures for gluten free food. The value for money is also exceptional; it's our favourite treat meal!

Well I’ve been going here since it opened ,I work away so only get to go wen I’m home but I can tell you this for nowt, this has fast become the best chippy in Oldham . Let’s start with price . I’ve paid a lot more for food I’ve ended up not eating can’t fault the price, portion size , I can honestly say I can never eat it all, I usually have bread but I don’t now and still struggle , huge portions. The specials, and believe me they are special , the steak dark fruits cider pie is so tasty next time it’s on I’m have 2 pieces and no chips…..Ive just had the sausage,cheese and bean pie and wow fantastic, if you haven’t tried thier sexy spam ( spam and cheese in batter ) then you are missing out. They do a special pie most weeks sadly I can’t always get it but from friends who have they all say the same, bloody delishhhhhh…. The staff, well they are so nice and friendly they even want to come and eat with you ….if you have the last pice of special pie and room in your car 😂😂😂. Joking aside absolutely thumbs up , 5 star, top notch can’t beat it. If you haven’t yet been please try it I promise you won’t be disappointed.

Coeliac's Dream I had gluten free fish, chips, sausage, curry sauce and peas. Curry sauce was the best I've had from a chippy (pre and post diagnosis). Bloody gorgeous. Batter on fish very crispy. All so tasty!! Great service and knowledgeable staff. Wish I lived closer!!!

Visited for the first time yesterday, the fish and chips, both gluten free and regular were superb and the homemade cheese and onion pie was delicious (so my daughter tells me). The staff were friendly efficient and really carful with my gluten free order, even ensuring they used the gluten free vinegar and gave me the gluten free curry sauce. Portions were plentiful and good value for money. We'll definitely be visiting again. It is cash only.

Just ordered for me and my partner chip butty and the chips weren't cooked and the bread bun were horrible the chips were thrown in the bread bun had nothing to eat all day and were looking forward to having chippy and thats ruined it for me and my partner had to throw away the full lot what your doing behind a counter if you cant cook sort it out !!🤬 never going there again hope you get shut down

Brilliant chippy with homemade food options, too, and a varied menu. This chippy does gluten free fish and chips which is amazing as I have ceoliacs disease. Staff always nice and polite. Nice place.

The best chippy, is quite a statement and it may or may not be but its pretty close. I have been here a few times and as yet have never had a bad experience. They have an excellent choice of homemade meat pie, cheese and onion pie, and rag pudding. Always a decent potion and they have a children's menu too. This is a takeaway only, no seating. There is an ample carpark at the rear for customers. This can get busy though at peak times. The fish I've had was nice size, nicely battered and was white throughout., nice and fresh. If you ever fancy a chippy dinner or tea and are nearby I wholeheartedly recommend this place.

Never a bad chip is served from the Old Plough chippy. Everything is fresh, fish cooked to order and the portions are plentiful.

Always ask if you want fish as soon as you walk in, so service his really quick, efficient and clean. Beautiful flaky fish and chunky chips cooked very well. Lovely Irish curry sauce, worth the visit on its own 😀. Polite and friendly staff who are professional and efficient. Best chippy in the area 👍🏼

The staff were very friendly and welcoming, the standard of the food was excellent (the best chips I have had in years) and, as a coeliac, I felt like I was just asking for something from the menu rather than being awkward. We are looking forward to our next visit so that my wife can sample the amazing-looking pies and the black pudding fritters.

Been meaning to get in and try the old plough out for a while now based on a friend's recommendation, I'm gutted I'd not been sooner, great portion sizes, fish was cooked to perfections, succulent flakey cod in a really crispy golden batter, chips were tasty too, and nothing was swimming in grease, Irish curry was nice and fruity, and the pea fritter and black pudding fritter were a really nice extra, mushy pea fritter held together and was great for dipping chips in, black pudding fritter is definitely one of my new favourite chippy treats, and the Old Plough Chippy is my new favourite chippy and we shall definitely be returning again soon. Can't leave without saying how friendly the ladies were too, welcoming and cheerful, all round amazing experience and would definitely recommend.

Very good. Limited Vegsn options, what about samosas, falafel, spring rolls, bhaji etc. ?

I won a jubilee completion at the plough chippy consisting of Fish,chips,sides,drinks for 4, The service from the staff was amazing ,customer service at its very best ,so welcoming. The food was of the highest quality and definitely the best chippy in the area , beautifully prepared , good portions ,all wonderful. Thank you plough chippy everything amazing . Highly recommended.

I've spent a long time at sea but I couldnt tell you what fish i was eating. ' I asked for cod . . .don't get me wrong it was thick ,white and fresh in a decent batter ps ' on bouth occations I couldn't tast cod . . .May be ive got long covid . . .

One of the best chippies I’ve ever eaten in - just be mindful they only accept cash. I walked all the way from town and was left with no chance to get cash, as petrol station across the road charge for withdrawals. As long as you bring enough cash with you (which I avoid normally due to risk of being mugged), then you cannot go wrong here with excellent quality food 😊

Brilliant fish and chip shop!!!!!...the owner used to own a chippy in Rochdale which is still fine .....but after tasting my fish and chips today he is still the better of the two!!!!!..Also he serves a smaller portion which is great for OAPs like me.....Good luck with your business

First time visiting and will definitely call again. The fish are large and tasty, good chunky chips. Although busy, on entry you are asked if you want fish as they are made to order. Very efficient, friendly staff.

Ordered 4 meals for collection and when we arrived home we soon realised there were only 3 yet we had been charged for 4. Peas were missing also of one of the meals… tasty food but bad service!

We had gluten free fish and chips and the normal ones too. We really enjoyed it and the staff were fantastic

Great fish and chips. Two different curry sauces to choose from. Parking at rear. (Cash machine across the street at Shell station) they only take cash here currently, but it is Def worth a trip to the cash machine... Very popular is the "fish bites" meal.Fish nugget type bites with chips. Big enough for an adult though ☺️
