Had a great time at the Annex for a friends 50th. Nina on the bar was fabulous. Very friendly and made great gin and tonics, taking care to make sure the garnish was correct. Thank you!

We held my Dad's 50th birthday party at The Annex and it was perfect! We chose the venue due to it being flexible with the weather. We reserved outside space with the booking as we were hoping for nice weather, but in true British style it poured down. This didn't cause any issues on the day though as we had the big umbrellas up and heaters on so we we're still able to use the space even in the rain. In the run up to the day, Abi was fantastic and answered all of our questions. When we arrived, the staff helped us set up the decorations and from start to finish they couldn't do enough for us. They even packed up all of the decorations and wrapped the cake up at the end of the night. The pizzas were amazing and went down a treat with our guests, and Abi let us pick certain things off the menu we wanted instead of having to stick to what was there. I couldn't recommend them enough if you're looking for a venue for a party/event!

We visited on Friday night. We hadn't booked and a couple of the other restaurants were full, but we got a table at The Annex. The staff were very pleasant, but the pizza's were a bit grim. I had the special, which was just tasteless and my husband had the chicken and chorizo which had mayonnaise dribbled all over it. (it did have that on the menu when we came to look back at it, but it was very bizarre). The pizza base tasted like the value range from a supermarket. The restaurant was also really cold. The lady on the next table sat with her coat on throughout their meal.

Met family and a group of friends at The Annex for a catch up. Andy looked after us extremely well and the choice of wines excellent, they now have draught lager so that pleased the guys. Pizzas were excellent. We went across to Muse after to continue our little party and again the staff went out of their way to find us space to sit together.

Had my daughters baby shower here today, it was a lovely and relaxed atmosphere with live entertainment on singing jazz, which may I add were very good The staff were extremely accommodating, particularly Andy who sorted out all the arrangements. The owner was extremely polite and friendly and took time out to talk to us. The food was excellent too, great value for money. Overall excellent service and a great day had by all. I would recommend the annex for a special event or simply a nice relaxing drink and a great place to eat. Thanks again for a perfect afternoon.

The Annex is really buzzing since Andy took over. Nothing is too much trouble. Best pizza I've had for ages. Can't wait for the new menu with my favourite pasta dishes.

The names Barman, Ben the Barman. What a night! It’s a great atmosphere and a young lad on the bar named Ben absolutely made it. Service was great and he even found time for a dance off with my mate Ste (which he won hands down). Will be back again..

Me and my friend visited on Friday night to take advantage of the pizza and prosecco offer. £30 for a pizza each and bottle of prosecco. There was a good choice of pizza toppings and you can tell they are made in a pizza oven, we both really enjoyed them. The bar / restaurant is lovely inside and the staff were all really friendly. I will definitely return for this offer and I would also like to try other food from the menu.

Meeting friends in Uppermill and wanted a hot drink, we had our dog with us so were limited to where we could go. We found a table outside for 4 adults and 1 child under the heaters and out of the rain as best as we could. We ordered a hot chocolate, orange juice, tea, breakfast tea and a coffee, the drinks came out pretty quickly. The child in our party was hungry so I went inside to get a dessert menu as he wanted something sweet. The waiter tried to find me one but said he didn't know where they were as they were having new menus made, I asked what our options were, I Was told brownie/waffles or toasted tea cake, we opted for waffles. We waited about 20 minutes with no sign of the waffles so I asked how long they would be, the waiter said he would go and ask, he speedily reappeared apologised and said they had an order for 2 breakfasts and that's why it's taking so long. The 2 waffles appeared a minute later and came with ice cream and sauce and was devoured straight away. The table was being cleared by the waiter and the milk jug spilt over our gloves on the table, no apology from the waiter, he carried on clearing the table and began to take away the clean napkins so I asked if I could have them to wipe the gloves and the table as this was not done by the waiter. I believe The Annex and the Bar and Eatery are owned by the same people I would like to try Muse next door for a meal but would hope that the service would be better.

I recently visited here with my girlfriend for a spot of lunch. We had the 3 small plates for £12 each which I think is a good price for what you get. I had the southern fried chicken, black pudding fritters and the cheese fritters. Everything tasted very nice and my girlfriend enjoyed hers too. The staff were also very polite and nice. I will be returning thankyou.

We went here as a group of 10 parents and 10 kids . From start to finish this was a great experience. We were allowed to pre order our food which made everything so much easier. When we got there the service was efficient and friendly. The staff made us feel really welcome and I can honestly say that nothing was too much trouble.

A hot and sunny day, and Saddleworth was buzzing: the adjacent restaurant was full so we sat outside in the Annex courtyard. Unfortunately the large waste bins were on the forecourt and were emptied whilst we were there, allowing a stench to spoil the lunch experience, made worse by the release of a large number of wasps that a member of staff tried in vain to spray. The menu is interesting and the food enjoyable: the staff are enthusiastic, but a bit disorganised - three times we asked for condiments, and the cutlery was forgotten: perhaps it does not help them that the kitchen is upstairs, and all the tables on the floor below?

Visited one beautiful Sunday afternoon ... Uppermill was extremely busy but The Annex is down a small side street away from the crowds so it was lovely to sit outside and relax. Lots of young staff who were very attentive taking orders and bringing drinks. We ordered a sandwich, the cod bites and a portion of skinny fries. We then waited...and waited...and waited for the food to come! When it did eventually arrive the sandwich tasted nice but presentation wasn't good just cut in half and thrown on plate by the look of it. As for the cod and chips it was obviously just freezer food. So disappointed.

Ordered a sausage butty and a latte as usual... asked for extra butter as I don't have sauce and the woman in the back that wasn't serving me jumped in and said extra what? So I repeated extra butter please and she said they are only supposed to put a certain amount on. Luckily the woman who was actually serving me ignored this pathetic statement and did give me extra butter.

Having visited the restaurant for years, and enjoyed all of it. My partner did the books many years ago. We have stuck with it through all the many changes & styles of food offered. Unfortunately we went for Sunday Roast , last Sunday. The beef was sold out, my partner took the pork which was too fatty, I took the ham shank which looked like it had been boiled & was totally unacceptable to me. We complained quietly to an older waitress, who tried to help with a strange type of beef? We were told to complain to Charlotte ( restaurant manager) who went home early on Sunday, & would not be on duty until Wednesday? Having decided that was enough, we grudgingly paid, and left, never to return ever! we were treated badly!
