The Kings Arms in Oldham

Absolutely stunning pup where the food is excellent !!!!!very reasonable priced .it’s no wonder the black lad is shutting its doors when the kings arms is its competition. Mine and my wife’s favourite for lunch or a special occasion. The front of house is friendly and efficient backed up with fantastic tasting consistent good quality pub grub . Hats off to all at the kings arms long may it continue

Excellent service once again. As always, the service was excellent. The food is delicious. Never had a bad meal here. Very reasonably priced.

We travelled some distance to the King's Arms after telephoning to enquire about the Friday fish and chips. The girl on the phone said the fish and chips are served all day, only to arrive there and told they stop serving at 3 pm and re start service at 5 pm , we was not informed this on the phone and has it was around 3.20 pm we was not prepared to wait around till 5 pm, total waste of a journey, think the girl in question needs a lesson on how to answer enquiries. It's really annoying.

Had q fantastic night, lots life food was fantastic. Bar staff proper! You will be well looked after at this pub.

First time here will call again food and service were all of good quality didn't have a drink so can't comment. Everything was well priced all in all well worth a visit.

We have eaten here numerous times throughout the last few months, and will continue to do so. We absolutely love the food, especially the Harbenaro Wings, not for the faint hearted though!

First visit. Very impressed. Picked Sunday lunch from the extensive menu. It was hot, delicious. Would definitely go back again at some point next year whilst visiting our granddaughter.

This is only a 15 minute drive and I can’t believe I’ve not been before. Went on Christmas Eve and service was good despite being busy, excellent food and at a decent price too. Will be back again soon.

Had a fabulous lunch today. Atmosphere only got three because it was a bit cold, everything else was just what was needed. I had my husband on crutches and the entrance was very slippery with the rubber ends so would recommend a mat at the front door. Thank you.

Staff were friendly and accommodating. The food was tasty and well presented. Dad and I will definitely return to this local eatery.

Went here today to meet our daughter and her boyfriend for her birthday meal, decided to book here rather than go into Manchester as easy access of the motorway and dog friendly. We had booked a table but managed to snaffle a seating area by an open fire so stayed put for the meal which was really cosy and and roomy. My wife and I ordered the lamb which was fantastic large piece of shoulder of lamb that melted in the mouth complete with large roasters, and veg and home made Yorkshire pudding was fantastic if I'm being critical could have perhaps done with a bit more gravy (but I'm from Yorkshire!). Daughter and boyfriend had chicken breast which was also nice but for me the Lamb was much better. Then for pudding the home made apple and pear crumble with plenty of custard , portions were decent and it was delicious. Staff also very friendly and welcoming. Will definitely return soon.

Absolutely poor service food wasn't great The waitress was VERY RUDE as soon as we had finished dessert She asked would we pay the BILL as it was booked again SO DISAPPOINTED IT WAS TO CELEBRATE MY MUM'S 70TH BIRTHDAY AND NOT EVEN BROUGHT HER CAKE OUT

Lovely food, decent price, great service

Waited a while for main. Food was ok a little dry and overcooked. Our waitress was pleasant but whilst drinking our coffees another waitress butted in our conversation and asked us to move because she had other customers! When we asked if we could just finish our coffee she implied I was being difficult. We asked her for the bill but she refused to bring it, twice we asked her but she ignored us. Felt very uncomfortable. Rude, impolite and very unprofessional!

My wife and daughter had the hotpot and thoughrily enjoyed it, I had fish and chips the batter was overdone for my taste and chips like Jenga blocks not happy.

Food was lovely, friendly staff and good atmosphere and busy too(always a good sign). Was here for the early bird menu (fantastic value for money). It would've been 5* but we were asked if we wanted the bill more or less as soon as we finished. I hadn't finished my drink. Just felt a little rushed when we came out for a relaxing meal.

Limited choice for vegetarians. Cheese and onion pie very dry. The chips were frozen and again very dry. The rest of the group enjoyed their food. Service was ok. At the end of the evening, they basically asked us to leave as the were shutting. It was a cold night, they shut the pub and we had to wait outside.

Food and service great as always. Still good value for money as well.

What a lovely place food fantastic

Really good food, nice chilled atmosphere in there on a Sunday, but it does get busy mid afternoon so definitely book if eating in the restaurant section. If you have dogs you can only eat in the regular pub area, which is understandable, so you can't book tables there it's just 1st come basis. We're happy we found this place and plan to go again for sure. Decent views also.

We had the light bites (3 courses for £17) we were expecting small servings but it was a good plateful of delicious food! We enjoyed every mouthful. The staff were lovely and extremely accommodating when we asked for something off menu for a fussy eater. We will definitely be back.

From beginning to end, the experience was absolutely fantastic. Having become accustomed to haphazard service over the years, it was really a breath of fresh air to find somewhere that does customer service properly. Attentive, friendly staff serving some of the best food in the area. We had a great night and will be returning soon!

We consider ourselves regulars now. Great food, super service. Best pub in Oldham ! Visited earlier on in the week, sat outside for a couple of drinks and then enjoyed a great meal in the restaurant. Decent portions and quality food. You can't beat the fish and chips, and the bacon chop was lush !

Pleasant environment, nice and smiley staff, but, and it's a big but! Amazing food, and really good prices. We had a huge chicken burger, salad, coleslaw, 3 half's of bitter shandy, braised steak, mash peas and gravy, and I finished off with apple and peach crumble with custard, total cost £27. Two of us have had a bowl of soup, 2 coffees and not much more for £20+. We will be back and recommend you to try it. Large car park, outdoor eating and drinking area Nice country setting

Best food i’ve ever had. Staff are amazing

Food was superb. I had wings to start and the pork and leek sausage and mash for main and it was delicious. Also ordered from the early bird menu (Tue-fri 5pm-6pm) was great value. Had a lovely time here.

The food was lovely but the service and time taken to get it really let it down. We waited nearly 50 mins from arriving to getting our starters.

Nice experience, lovely people and great food. Let down by serving dessert in an enamel basin which was not nice. It would have been great if all courses were served on clean looking plates and dishes.

Regularly eat out and currently looking for a new go to place, tried this place today as heard good reviews but boy was we dissatisfied. Staff were like zombies and did not want to know, the older looking woman who we suspected was the manager was to interested in chatting up a bloke at the bar than organising her staff. We ordered 2 simple meals and 2 kids meals and waited 1 hour 40 minutes!! Poor service and a shame because the food wasn’t actually that bad. Toilets were a mess so god knows what the kitchen looks like!! There was piss everywhere and the smell was horrendous! First and last visit for us.

Amazing food with amazing service, steak wasn’t cooked how ordered the first time but couldn’t do enough to put this right! And when it came back out it was perfect! Apart from that everything was delicious especially the creamy garlic mushroom starter and the freshness of ingredients! So glad this place is just down the road

We booked a table for five adults for Sunday lunch, we expected to be sat in the restaurant area but we're seated near the bar on what looked like furniture from a works canteen, the food was disappointing, not a Sunday lunch at all , steak served up instead of beef, the staff were surly and rude too , won't be going back

A small group of us ate at the Kings Arms last week for a lovely catch-up meal. I'd read many of the reviews, so I was excited to visit myself, and it did not disappoint. The food we had was presented very well and the service was wonderful. We very much enjoyed our visit and would not hesitate to return if ever in the area.

We have been visiting the Kings Arms for many yrs , for Lunches & Evening Meals ,it's a very lovely place, the staff are exceptional and the food is Amazing and very reasonably priced, never have had cause to complain , highly recommended, always a warm welcome, they will do there upmost to cater for everyone,s needs .

Great atmosphere superb food helpful staff

Travelling from Huddersfield to Diggle how lucky were we to pull into the Kings Arms for a meal. We were again fortunate at this busy time to be offered a table for 3 immediately. We had a light bite and to be honest it was huge. The price was excellent as was the service and atmosphere. Thank you very much. Price:- is one starter, 3 mains and 2 drinks. Can recommend the whole menu.

Great food, great service and the staff are very attentive. Timothy Taylor's on draft and I had the 12oz rump steak which was perfect and so was the Bury Blackpudding starter.

We took our Family here from Yorkshire and they had a great experience. They loved the decor of the pub and the atmosphere. The service was first class and the food. Great value for money.

We hadn't booked and it was a Sunday and quite busy but the lovely barmaid made us feel welcome and got us a table pretty quickly. The food was lovely and fresh

Went here Thursday for dinner, took advantage of early menu before 6pm and had 2 courses for£14, wife selected the chicken burger and I had braised beef, both meals were really good and served on hot plates, we then had crumble and the best custard I've had. Service was very good as well, good to see staff that are friendly and attentive. We will be back.

My nephew and I were visiting friends in Manchester and they recommended this place so the four of us went around a month ago. The evening as a whole was excellent and the food and Service so worthy of the recommendation from our friends.

We have been coming here for the past couple of years. We had been recommended by another couple who come here regularly. I must admit that the food is always outstanding, the staff are always and I mean always attentive. We have now started recommending the pub to friends and family. This pub I would highly recommended for food and drinks. The staff are always attentive and look after you personally. This has been our “go-too” pub for dining out and the occasional drink for the past few years as its absolutely outstanding. Unfortunately not the best dining experience I have had. Meeting up with friends after hearing great reviews, we were left sadly disappointed. Firstly, no where to park, then a long wait for our orders to be taken, starters not too bad, mains - not good...

We visited last night staff were polite and efficient, best of all the food was amazing . All four of us had different and each meal was spot on couldn’t fault anything, it was presented well was very hot and was all cooked to perfection. Cannot wait to visit again . Well done all of the staff especially the exceptional chef.

Booked a table for this evening for 6 of us. Food and service was amazing. All the food was freshly cooked, best meal out we've had in ages compared to some of the more 'popular' pubs. Prices are extremely reasonable. 3 course kids menu for £10 is excellent value. The Sunday menu looks great! Portion sizes are decent too. We will deffinatley be back again soon.
