Enjoyed the Son's birthday with a steak each here. Can't fault it, staff friendly, food lovely and a nice selection of beers. Menu choice was good - nothing to dislike plus just a short walk from where we live so the bonus of walking off the meal ;-)

We walked in at opening time on Easter Sunday (we were on a walk) and just nipped in on the off chance a table was free for a drink. Despite the amount of staff (must have been about 7 staff) we were just left to kind of look about and a bit lost. I approached the bar and asked if we could sit anywhere that didn't have a reserved sign. The woman behind the bar did not smile once it was as though she was doing me a favour just answering me. Not friendly at all! Another woman managed to find us a spot but the woman behind the bar honestly was the most unfriendly person you could tell she just did not want to be there at all. Not eye contact no smile and quite obnoxious in the way she spoke. Won't be returning. Youre only as good as your staff and yours are stuck up and obnoxious

Lovely Sunday lunch menu with a 1, 2 or 3 course meal deal. Very reasonable prices and fantastic food with several options for kids too. Fantastically wholesome home cooked food and brilliant portion sizes. The cheese and onion pie was absolutely amazing. Not too many onions either 😁 Absolutely stuffed - highly recommended

Our table for 3 was pre booked for12.30. We ordered drinks from the bar and was seated at table 23 as the view was amazing overlooking Oldham and beyond. We ordered our food and it came within 1/2 hrs. I was amazed at the food I had as it was beautifully presented, hot and very enjoyable. I had the Minced Beef and Onion home made pie. It sure was filling and very moreish. Plenty of garden peas, chips and gravy. My other family members had lovely meals and no complaints. Bravo to the owners, chefs and waiting staff for fabulous hospitality. A little gem of a restaurant in beautiful location. I am sure we will be back to sample more of your exceptional home made fare on the not too distant future. Thank You All.

First time at this restaurant. Service was good but food was very very poor. Two of us had braised beef which was so dry and not enough gravy at all and no onions. One had thinly sliced pork in pepper sauce but turned up just lumps of meat and was absolutely tasteless. Would not recommend at all. We didn’t dare try a desert in fear of it being just as bad as the mains. Nobody even came to ask if everything was ok with our food and nobody said please and thankyou when paying. Not even have a good Evening or a goodnight as we were leaving. Not deserving of a tip at all. In the future drive on by straight to the old original down the road!

Really looked forward to visiting this restaurant after having read many favourable reviews. Unfortunately the meal was a great disappointment as we had to wait just shy of 1 hour for our orders to reach the table. The dishes themselves were just about palatable. When it came to dessert, what a disappointment, 3 guests had ordered crème brûlée, which were inedible as they tasted heavily of smoke, the same was true for 2 portions of apple crumble. From this experience I cannot recommend this restaurant. The waitress agreed to remove all the desserts from the bill.

Lovely pub with a very relaxed atmosphere. It was a windy, rainy Tuesday evening and we walked in to a roaring fire. We were seated and served quickly with drinks. We were made aware of the specials for that day and given the full menu also. Every meal was fully described on the menu. We waited no time at all for our food to start coming out of the kitchen. Our meals were plentiful and tasty. Great food, lovely friendly staff, good prices, we definitely had good value for money. Only able to eat 2 courses. We will be going back and I would recommend

Just came on the last minute but had not booked, even though they were busy they managed to find us a table, (booking is preferred so not to be let down). We both ordered the sirloin steak with sauces, the food was pretty quick even though they are busy, cannot fault the food it was 100%, the staff were also very helpful and cheerful. Will be coming again but next time we will book first.

On a very busy Saturday night, I ordered a delicious tartiflette and green salad. The only drawback was that the tartiflette was so rich, I presume due to the amount of Reblochon in it, I couldn't eat more than a third of it. I was offered the rest of it to take away but, stupidly, I demured. It was probably one of the finest dish I've eaten at The Roebuck.

The staff were really friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere was nice and relaxed. The food was absolutely delicious, and the portion sizes were generous. Great value for money. The views were also great. Couldn't fault it.

The food was horrific it was cold burnt and had no flavour. It tasted like it had been microwaved really don’t recommend going here, we had the Sunday dinner and I can say it was the worst food I have ever had

was staying just up the road with me parents . so popped in for a meal, excellent food big portion. lovely clean toilets as well.

We went xmas eve for a family dinner ,food was nice and the garlic mushrooms and black pudding starter was delicious.

It was very busy as Christmas.... Overall food was quite good although my 'plant based' steaks were a little overcooked. Considering the amount of people that were in our party, most people were very happy with their food.

I'm a picky eater but when I saw steak on that menu I knew I was in for a treat it comes at a price of 18 pound for just the main course but is 100 percent worth it. I asked for it cooked medium it was cooked perfectly and it tasted so good and my family enjoyed the roast dinner and said it was very nice I really recommend coming here.

After quite a few years revisit was well overdue. Place was packed could only get a table in bar area and that’s at 530pm ! Soup was a delight piping hot Potatoe and leek with a gf roll . Mains I had the lamb shoulder with mash parsnips veg and red currant jus. Lady had salmon creamed leaks with veg . Excellent Kaiken Merlot with a port and brandy followed by cheese board . An excellent few hours , great food excellent service and a roaring open fire 🔥 perfect evening . Will be back

Absolutely fab food!!!! Haven't been here for years and suddenly decided to give it a go for our anniversary meal. We were not disappointed! We were warmly greeted at the bar and shown to a lovely table with amazing views. The staff were all really pleasant and nothing was too much trouble. I ordered the pork fillet in a sherry sauce which should have come with chips but I asked for new potatoes no trouble at all and they even brought me butter and herbs to go with them. We were with friends who were equally impressed and we will definitely be back The bill was very reasonable too. What a lovely couple who own it, thanks again guys brilliant.

Unfortunately wasn’t for us on this occasion. Service a little slow and the steak wasn’t very good quality. Desserts took over and hour. The cheesecake is too sweet and is more like a meringue than a cheesecake. Will try again on our next visit as the staff are lovely and friendly and it is a nice atmosphere.

We’ve been coming to the Roebuck for about 30 years. It was the place to go where you were always guaranteed to enjoy a quality meal. More recently, perhaps due to how hard times are in this industry, standards have dropped. You used to get a complimentary bread and butter basket when you were seated, but this doesn’t happen now. They always had the best homemade chips around, but the wedges they’ve been replaced with taste frozen. My mum’s fish dish had been dinged. Vegetables to share for 4, where sparse. The pub is always cosy because of the fire but restaurant has a drab, cold atmosphere, which is very outdated, despite being redecorated. Another bug bear is that the owners are miserable. Not that I expect a fanfare, but there’s never any acknowledgment, despite going for 30 years. All in all we won’t be returning again sadly.

We had a family birthday dinner and the food ,@ service was amazing, we all loved it and would certainly love to have the next treat at the restaurant

Amazing food,left absolutely stuffed

Lovely bar/ restaurant with pleasant and helpful staff. Really good food and well priced. Had ordered the sirloin steak which came with chips, vegetables, tomatoes and mushrooms and struggled to finish the plate. The staff were attentive without fussing over the top of you. It was clean and well maintained, with amazing views from where we were sitting.

This is my third time at the Roebuck, first time food was stunning, second time not as good. Went again last night to celebrate my birthday, safe to say wont be back. I ordered a BLT which l love, asked the waitress if the bacon was smoked before ordering, she confirmed it definitely wasn’t, order came smoked bacon food returned. My friend ordered pork, arrived she took one bite was very salty, (last time braised beef same issue) food returned. We both ordered pie of the day that was, l would say niceish a little peppery but tolerable. We got desserts my friend ordered sponge and custard, l ordered brownie and biscoff sundae. This arrived and straight away l told her to take it back, a sundae to me includes ice cream, it was brownie with the tiniest bit of cream in the middle and biscoff sauce no way l was paying £6 for that. My friends sponge and l wouldn’t say custard more warm milk it was sooo runny she also sent this back. The waitress then proceeded to shout as she walked into the kitchen it’s that table again, very unprofessional especially as we were sat at the table at the side of the door. The bill came with 3 things still on we had returned Completely spoilt my birthday celebrations night was ruined

We enjoyed along with pet dog Alfie wonderful Sunday lunch at this lovely cosy & friendly pub restaurant. Situated on a hill with inspiring vistas of Saddleworth & Manchester from the car park. Roebuck has a restaurant along with extensive menu in the bar which is dog friendly. Family run & owned restaurant and pub which is managed professionally, politely meeting customer requests & creating a warm, friendly environment. We enjoyed Beef, Lamb Sunday lunches with two sausages for Alfie which he greatly appreciated & devoured with joy! All the meals have quality ingredients, beautifully made and served. The gravy is so tasty to enhance the flavour the meats served in the Sunday lunch’s with range of vegetables. The Sunday lunches are supplemented by fabulous home cooked range of deserts, Jam Roly Poly Sponge with custard, apple & strawberry pie, Victoria sponge cake etc al. Everyone is so friendly & accommodating. It is a real pleasure and experience to eat in the Robebuck Inn. Highly recommend

Wow. Made a reservation and included that we had our 15 mth old Granddaughter with us. Great greeting and led to a table already set up for her. The service was outstanding, everyone's needs met and more. The food was incredible, and we couldn't finish . Ask for a doggy bag(Steak/kidney pudding is massive) the Sea food salad is incredible. In our top 5 of local places.

This is the place where i work & have done for the last 37years,food is all made from fresh produce,meat,fish,vegetables all prept in-house,meals made to order & some meals made by special request. We try to keep our customers happy,we may not always succeed,but learn from our mistakes. Hopefully you will leave happy & tell your friends.

If Carlsberg did dining out this would be it. I had Scallops and they were divine. Staff were terrific. Excellent family run business will certainly be back.

Accepted a party of 21 then turned round after the main course and said that they only had four puddings left and took forever for meals to come

Sunday Roast wasn't bad, service was a bit slow but overall a pleasant Sunday

Visited this evening for a relaxing meal out and the roebuck provided just that. Starters were spot on and just enough. For mains the hunters chicken (it was huge) and the Seafood salad (never fails to impress) All in all a lovely evening and quality food

Visited this place a few times in the passed, its always been very good. This time unfortunately it wasn't. The waitresses didn't know which tables where which. And the food although wasn't bad( I've had worse) just wasn't at its usual standard.

It is just simply awesome we go for a few beers and meals the service is absolutely brilliant as is the food.

A walk down memory lane with my family as the Roebuck was a neighbourhood property many years ago. The service, food and atmosphere are still of amazing quality and in the same ownership. Sunday Lunch was as memorable as expected and we had a wonderful time. Many thanks to everyone.

Family occasion for my grandma so the whole family were invited, they sat us in a separate room all together which we thought was good, to then realise there was no music and got told we had to go back and forth to the bar...

The food once it arrived was lovely, but the wait time was horrendous. We had to go to the bar to remind them of our puddings 1 hr after ordering. Just not good enough and it wasn't like they were busy it was more of a case of forgetting. The staff were mediocre at best and didn't seem interested in serving anyone. Not the service I've received on past visits. Will be a while before I return

We went to The Roebuck on recommendation by a work colleague for my Wife's Birthday meal. The food was absolutely fantastic, we couldn't fault anything with it. However the staff were a little overwhelmed maybe they were short staffed on the evening. The restaurant was nice but a little dated, but the garden and views are amazing 😍

lovely outside seating area and food normally good but i can only think the chef was on holiday today😔 how can a cheese and pickle baguette be inedible. i would say pickle in a restaurant sandwich would usually be branston or similar but it was actually about 10 silverskin pickles sat on top of a load of cheese on a warm very crunchy baguette...all accompanied by a portion of burnt fries. seriously it was bad 😒
