Quiet but nice (Thursday evening)

First visit and first impression is a fabulous, welcoming venue, pleasant atmosphere. Clean and plenty of places to sit. Service, staff and entertainment is very good. Limited parking spaces are the only issue.

Great Owners, Staff, The Chef, Food Excellent and the Atmosphere. Definitely will be going back, which I did with my Husband and again, Everything was as good as the first time! Ribs were my favourite! But my husband had The full English breakfast and he said it was delicious. We shared a tiramisu as we were full and it's one of the Best I've had. Well done to Everyone!

Went for a birthday party. Its only small and the music was to noisy. As far as parking you have to leave your vehicle on the side streets.

I went there for a friend's wake. It is a large pub with tables outside and a well stocked and staffed bar. The food provided was plentiful and tasty. Thank you.

Went with my husband. His 1st time my 2nd. Barstaff are very friendly. Landlord was working, which I like to see, as I worked behind a bar for years. Good man! And his wife. Atmosphere lovely and relaxing. Food yet again excellent!! Lovely young man who interacts with the customers and always has a smile on his face. I had the Ribs! 'to die for' My husband had the All Day breakfast and he licked his plate clean and to me was a big plate Well Done to All of you 💜

Had a fantastic time with friends and family here. Food was amazing nicest turkey l have tasted in a long time . Staff were so nice . Will definitely return soon we'll worth a visit will try a Sunday Lunch next time very reasonably priced.

The food is such good value for money, kids meals are excellent, unlike other pubs in failsworth such as the millgate. The pub has such a welcoming feeling and the staff are excellent and couldn’t do any more for us. Brian u have done an excellent job!!

Great turn around. We love coming into the Mare now and regularly purchase food. It is freshly cooked, tasty and reasonably priced for the huge portion you get. The bar staff and chef are lovely too!

Last week I had steak chips & peppercorn sauce it was gorgeous so today I tried the lamb Sunday lunch very good homemade Yorkshire puds fresh veg very tasty gravy will definitely be coming back & it’s on my doorstep with friendly staff great atmosphere Loved it ❤️

Under new management. Lovely local couple and there family & friends. Popped in for food with family. A simple but oh soo tasty menu. We tried abit of everything. Cheese burger, chicken burger, Mac & cheese, coleslaw, nachos and the best messy chips we’ve had so far. Can’t think of any faults with anything. The staff are friendly and polite. Prices are fair and don’t break the bank. Comfy and Cosy seating areas. Overall a great experience. Thanks guys we will be back again.

It's a nice pub, there weren't many people in. There were to members of staff on the bar but we had to call over for service and they didn't collect any glasses or wipe down. It's a shame because it has so much potential.

The new Publican has gone to an incredible effort, decorating internally and externally. There's a lovely "hidden garden" to the rear and the team know how to order a great pint!

Went in for the first time since it reopened and bought a pint of Marstons Pedigree. Unfortunately it cost £3.45 and tasted like vinegar.

The pub as been done up really nice it's very clean the price of drinks were good. The singer was very good. I enjoyed the evening will definitely come back. I would recommend the pub for a good night.

Recently refurbished, and a new landlord, a great pub with a wide selection of ales and lagers, good atmosphere, lovely staff.

Lively pub. Can't remember what beers they sell, we were kinda the worse for wear. DJ was playing some great music so we danced for the last hour. We're in our 60's so not danced like that for years. Excellent night at the Mare and Foal. Thank you.

This pub has new management and they are very welcoming. It was clean and the staff friendly. They are dog friendly and there are hours in which you can take your dog in with you. There was live music the night I was in, they were excellent. Keep up the good work

Nicely refurbished traditional British Pub

Just went in with new landlord mark !! The new refurb was well needed and given an almost derelict building a new lease of life … the graffiti is unreal and the pint was cheap and well worth the money !!

I had the absolute pleasure of stumbling across this place a couple of months ago. My brother and friends had said they would treat to a birthday meal and being local but new to the area I chose to try The Mare. When we entered the dining area was almost full (always a good indicator) however we were swiftly seated and handed a menu. I must say the food was exceptional each member of the party found it delicious and the portions were very generous. At closing time Andrew even came over for chat, he was extremely friendly and spoke about the local area and points of interest. He had extensive knowledge of the local canal paths and those leading to Manchester, hearing the passion which with he spoke about them led me and my partner to try it the weekend after - was a great walk in the sunshine. All in all, a really fantastic friendly place to eat would fully mrecommend! Great job Andrew!!

Wow! What can I say. Just returned home after a fantastic sizzling chicken cooked to perfection. Cleaned my plate as I couldn't leave any of it as it would have been an insult. Thank you Andy another amazing meal as always. Really can't fault tggp food, service and staff. If mt haven't yet been. Omg, your so missing out!

I have visited this place several times now. twice on a sunday and mid week.the food is served piping hot and has good portion sizes the meals are also very tasty. I live in west yorkshire and travel down to see friend so we always call for lunch .I would definitely recommend this place

Amazing food I visit here often and the food is always freshly cooked also huge portions.Staff are really friendly and meals are reasonably priced.They also offer a takeaway service on Sunday Dinners.This is my favourite place to eat.

Just discovered this little gem. Went and had Sundday lunch last week and let me tell you.....it was all fresh home cooked and tasty. Enjoyed it so much went again today. Cajun chicken burger.....bloody amazing. This is my new go to for food now. Would highly recommend it. You wont be disappointed Thank you

After hearing and reading such positive reviews we had to try it for ourselves. We were not disappointed, the food was exceptional, well cooked, tasty and excellent value for money. The staff were efficient, friendly and helpful. They have an excellent selection of beers. We we definitely be back soon.

Went here tonight for food after seeing it mentioned on local fb pages. Was not disappointed! The food was amazing, best pub food I've had in a very long time. We will definitely be back!

Recently redecorated. Looks fresher and brighter than it did. Andrew, the chef, has, as usual, pulled out all the stops on his food and his cheese and onion pie is magnificent. The PROPER chips are worth a visit on their own. None of that frozen crap that you get everywhere else. My mate had a rump steak which looked really good and it must have been as she wouldn't let me have any! Puds were lovely too. I had the sticky toffee pudding which was a really big helping and I couldn't finish it! Well worth a visit any day of the week but his Sunday dinners are to die for!

The food is always amazing. The best home cooked food for miles. Never been dissapointed when I have visited this place.

Had a nice Sunday Lunch, Staff fairly attentive, and food arrived in a reasonable time. Very Good menu, and lots of wines available by the glass. I had Cod and chips, which was a good plate full, and my friend had the roast beef. We were far too full for desert. Nice that they have lots of light foreign beers on draft. San Miguel and Peroni, nice on a Hot Sunday lunch time.Quite unusual to have so many on draft!

Came here for lunch with my nana, sister and 2 year old daughter. Inside looked nice and freshly painted. The food was beautiful. Me and the sister both opted for the Cajun chicken served with chips and salad. Nana had the gammon. Usually take leftovers home with us but we devoured the lot! Reasonably priced and great portions. The food is good home made food. Excellent produce you could never fault anything served. One suggestion would be chicken hangers with rice and salad. I have this in another restaurant that I visit and always enjoy it and it is a good option for people trying to loose weight....

Called into the Mare and foal this Monday 13th asked for a bar snack decided on sizzling steak in chilli sauce served on ciabatta, portion chips and salad. Excellent taste, well presented, it was so good I had another same sandwich .

Este pub no parece estupendo desde el exterior, no dejes que te engañe aunque. Por dentro es precioso. El personal era genial, nada demasiado. No muchos trabajadores con nosotros ver alrededor de 4? 2 bar y 2 el personal de la recepción. El personal de la cocina, que estaba bastante concurrida, no esperar mucho tiempo para el rápido personal comida. pescado y patatas fritas eran increíbles, pero todo el mundo que comimos (sobre 8) alcanzaba el mucho y todos lo pasamos que van desde hamburguesas, sándwiches calientes del día, carnes, pescado y patatas fritas y comidas para niños. La puerta siguiente millgate puede aprender mucho de la comida y el servicio aquí. Altamente recomendado. Asegúrese de tener patatas fritas son para morirse

Called in for a snack / meal. Ordered mixed grill, meat was dry, smaller in size , chips over cooked.

Great food, great service and great beer. Soon to have a refit and make over as the building itself is in need of it but don't let that put you off. Just try and you will come back Nuff said.

La comida es excelente relación calidad-precio, entradas cuesta £3 a 5 libras y platos principales de 8 libras de la memoria. Tuve la sopa del día y la salchicha y puré. Excelente calidad y mucha cantidad. Menú da la cadena de pubs por el dinero, las comidas tradicionales, hamburguesas y filetes están disponibles en el menú de comida.

Fuimos a la Mare & foal para un cumpleaños amigos los viernes por la tarde - nunca ha sido antes, ya que vivimos en el otro lado de Manchester. . . . Así que me alegro de haber hecho el viaje. Qué amable fantástico pub! Gran fiesta para los niños para Halloween en primero y luego gran DJ con karaoke después, pasamos una noche fantástica!
